Marla was referred to us by a colleague for our wedding, and she was the first photographer we looked at. As the groom and amateur photographer, I couldn't care less about colors or flowers, I wanted the best photographer we could find. We kept coming back to Marla's work, looking at other photographer's sites (which of course have their best work), and finding no one that could even come close to matching Marla's quality and vision. I was sold just from the website – her lighting, poses, colors, and composition were second to none, but it was important that my (now) wife got along with her. Marla took the time to sit down with us and discuss more than just photography, she wanted to get to know us, let us get to know her, and make sure it would be a good fit (in addition to explaining the process and timeline and other business stuff). My wife loved her, and we hired her on the spot not only for our wedding, but two engagement shoots. Her work speaks for itself, but we are more than thrilled with our photos, and the time spent with her was also a blast. She kept it fun, yet was always the consummate professional, did well at being invisible when you didn't want a photographer in your face, and wrangling people for a photo when necessary. Our friends and family loved her, and I don't think the day of could have gone better, making spur-of-the-moment decisions when the rain came during photos that turned out to be some of our favorite shots. Her communication was perfect, and timing was, if anything, delayed by us. The biggest problem was narrowing down the photos to be included in the album – we couldn't decide because they were all that good – and she told the story of our wedding perfectly. One of the most important decisions that has to be made for your wedding day is what photographer to go with.  The photographer is in charge of capturing those special moments and truly putting together an amazing time line of your special day.  I was referred to CakeKnife Photography by my makeup artist who had personal experience with this company with  her own wedding.  I looked at her pictures and photo album and fell in love with the creativity of the photos,  the use of lighting unlike the traditional wedding photographer,  and the way she really captured the moment.  Upon speaking with Marla for a consult prior to booking, owner of CakeKnife Photography,  I felt very comfortable with her and she was very thorough in asking me what exactly we wanted.  The day of the wedding she was very professional while at the same time so personable with my friends and family.  We felt like she was one of the group which made the tiresome photo taking process that much easier.  Her energy and dedication was seen though all of the images she captured. Another thing that I liked about her is that she was very timely in her delivery of all of the wedding pictures.  My friends and family love the website that she set up that allows you to log in with a password and see all of the pictures.  I will definitely use CakeKnife Photography in the future when we have our first child's baptism and I would suggest their services to anyone.  Spectacular job and a pleasure to work with!

Marla was absolutely wonderful, I cannot say enough positive things about her and her work. From our initial meeting, to the engagement session all the way to the wedding she was an absolute pleasure to work with.
