Every single one was delicious. Once we settled on our flavor, Abby sketched a design that perfectly matched our summer lemon-themed wedding. With just a few small adjustments, she brought our vision to life. The final cake was absolutely jaw-dropping—it became the centerpiece of our reception, and guests couldn’t stop raving about how beautiful and delicious it was. Abby delivered the cake without a single hitch on the big day and truly exceeded every expectation we had. We couldn’t be happier and would recommend her a thousand times over to anyone looking for a stunning, artistic, and delicious wedding cake.

I accidentally ended up driving a couple hours to pick up my tasting cakes (didn't realize how far it was before I booked it and decided to go anyway, best decision) and it was worth every mile. Of course, huge thanks to Abby for driving to our venue and back! The tasting is not free and a little pricier than the other tastings we paid for, but you get a very generous amount--three entire mini cakes instead of cupcakes like most places. What I appreciate most about Abby's cakes is that they taste REAL. The buttercream is buttery and tasted freshly whipped, and the cake has texture and crumb to it that tastes unlike any of the wedding bakeries that use cake mix (I understand why bakeries do use mix, but it comes across way too sweet and mushy for me because I grew up having cakes baked from scratch). Her flavors were outstanding--the raspberry preserves and crunchy cookie butter definitely tasted homemade (though I'm not sure if they were, but still--so good). We were on a budget, so we ended up getting a small semi-naked 6" cake adorned with a few fresh flowers to cut and a sheet cake for the rest of the guests. The simplicity of the cake was so beautiful. We had almond cake with raspberry preserves filling and lemon buttercream for our 6" cake, and vanilla cake with crunchy cookie butter filling and espresso buttercream for our sheet cake. Our third testing cake was also fantastic: spice cake with vanilla buttercream filling and maple buttercream. My big wedding regret is that I didn't make sure any of the 6" cake was placed aside for us to take home before it was all gone, because I was too full from dinner to have more than two bites and it's so so good. We do have some of the sheet cake in the freezer, and I'm excited to eat more of that. All the guests kept telling me how much they loved the cake. My mom said it's the best wedding cake she ever had! This is a super long review so thank you for reading, and if you read this far, give her cakes a try! The portions were generous and the cake was delicious - we put down our deposit the next day! Abby was very friendly, attentive, and easy to work with throughout the cake design process. She provided several sketches to choose from, made edits as requested, and provided quantity recommendations based on our guest count. The finished product was gorgeous and fit perfectly with our event. It was even more beautiful than we had envisioned! Such a showstopper and absolutely delicious too - we received lots of compliments from our guests and vendors. We would highly recommend working with Cakes by Abby.
