We were thrilled to work with Cakes by Abby for our wedding. Abby's communication style is excellent - she responded to all our messages within minutes, which was a huge help during the busy wedding planning process. The quality of her work is exceptional, both in design and product; definitely better than any vendors we checked out in the area. She was very accommodating, taking us on with very short notice. Abby is highly skilled, very pleasant to work with, and extremely attentive to details. She personalized the cake and cupcakes perfectly to our taste and desire. On the wedding day she arrived on time with the most beautiful desserts, setting them up herself to ensure we were happy. We felt incredibly lucky to find such an amazing vendor close by, and look forward to using Cakes by Abby for all our desert needs. Oh and all the assortments of the cookies were yummy as well.

Abby is AMAZING. I hired her for my wedding cake and she nailed it. I wanted simple and timeless with faux baby's breath and that is exactly what I got. She really cares about what her clients want and even sends a drawing ahead of time to ensure that it is the exact vision you want on your day. Abby went above and beyond to create a wedding cake that adhered to my dietary restrictions. INCREDIBLE. I cannot fully express the awe that we and our guests had over this cake. From the initial design phases, deciding on flavors, and producing the final product, Abby was extremely professional, prompt, and efficient with everything. This cake was truly a work of ART (not to mention how incredibly delicious each flavor we chose was). Our guests couldn't believe their eyes and we are still hearing about how amazing it was months later. Do not hesitate to work with Abby—you will be blown away!!!

In planning for our wedding cake, we ordered 6 tasting sample cakes from Abby… and then we ordered another 3 after that because they were so damn good. Abby bakes her cakes so that they are dense and moist and easy to cut through. Her buttercream is super smooth and doesn’t melt. There’s a bunch of flavor combinations you can try for frosting, cake, and filling. My favorite was almond cake with buttercream frosting, but I also really liked the vanilla cake with peach filling and lemon buttercream I ordered for a tasting. I highly recommend trying flavors you wouldn’t normally try; Abby will convince you that it’s the best flavor ever (until you bite into the next cake, which will somehow taste even better). I wish she lived closer because I would legit order a 3-pack tasting from her every other week. I had an idea of what I wanted my wedding cake to look like but had no real examples, although I did try to collect some stuff on Pinterest for reference. She drafted a mock up based on just my verbal description and it looked great. The real thing looked even better in person. She also lent me her cake stand for my wedding cake. I provided some tented/folded signs and also a couple 4-tiered cupcake display stands, and Abby arranged them and labeled them accordingly. She stayed super communicative and I honestly cannot emphasize enough how delicious her cakes and cupcakes are.

Abby is one of those artists that you hope exists in every small town so that she can (literally) be the icing on the cake for your wedding or event. From day one, Abby was professional, communicative, and flexible as she listened to what I envisioned and brought this vision to life, first on paper, then with a cake tasting, and then with the actual cake. Each step of the way, Abby let me know her thoughts, asked me for my feedback, and made the entire experience pleasant from start to finish. I was absolutely blown away by my wedding cake, and it was the most delicious cake I have ever had. I would recommend Abby 1000 times over for any wedding or event.

Abby was first of all a joy and so easy to work with. She accepted our VERY last minute request and truly made magic happen. She knew our vision spot on - I knew with her, we wouldn't have to worry about a single thing. And we didn't! The cake was so beautiful and just tasted AMAZING. She has so many flavors available - we got a three tier cake and each tier was a different cake/frosting, so every one of our guests had options for what they liked!

My now-husband and I tried a few different cake bakeries, and we said the same thing for each one: "This isn't amazing but not bad and if we don't find anything better, we'll go with this place." Abby's cakes are so spectacular they blew us out of the water. I accidentally ended up driving a couple hours to pick up my tasting cakes (didn't realize how far it was before I booked it and decided to go anyway, best decision) and it was worth every mile. Of course, huge thanks to Abby for driving to our venue and back! The tasting is not free and a little pricier than the other tastings we paid for, but you get a very generous amount--three entire mini cakes instead of cupcakes like most places. What I appreciate most about Abby's cakes is that they taste REAL. The buttercream is buttery and tasted freshly whipped, and the cake has texture and crumb to it that tastes unlike any of the wedding bakeries that use cake mix (I understand why bakeries do use mix, but it comes across way too sweet and mushy for me because I grew up having cakes baked from scratch). Her flavors were outstanding--the raspberry preserves and crunchy cookie butter definitely tasted homemade (though I'm not sure if they were, but still--so good). We were on a budget, so we ended up getting a small semi-naked 6" cake adorned with a few fresh flowers to cut and a sheet cake for the rest of the guests. The simplicity of the cake was so beautiful. We had almond cake with raspberry preserves filling and lemon buttercream for our 6" cake, and vanilla cake with crunchy cookie butter filling and espresso buttercream for our sheet cake. Our third testing cake was also fantastic: spice cake with vanilla buttercream filling and maple buttercream. My big wedding regret is that I didn't make sure any of the 6" cake was placed aside for us to take home before it was all gone, because I was too full from dinner to have more than two bites and it's so so good. We do have some of the sheet cake in the freezer, and I'm excited to eat more of that. All the guests kept telling me how much they loved the cake. My mom said it's the best wedding cake she ever had! This is a super long review so thank you for reading, and if you read this far, give her cakes a try! We were referred by our wedding planner, who knew that Cakes by Abby could create the floral palette knife design we were looking for. We decided to do a few cake tastings before finalizing our decision. I was initially overwhelmed by all of the different options for cake flavors, fillings, and icings, but Abby helped me to make each selection for the tasting. The portions were generous and the cake was delicious - we put down our deposit the next day! Abby was very friendly, attentive, and easy to work with throughout the cake design process. She provided several sketches to choose from, made edits as requested, and provided quantity recommendations based on our guest count. The finished product was gorgeous and fit perfectly with our event. It was even more beautiful than we had envisioned! Such a showstopper and absolutely delicious too - we received lots of compliments from our guests and vendors. We would highly recommend working with Cakes by Abby.

Abby is an absolute artist! Our wedding was several hours away in PA but we just had to have one of Abby’s designs as our cutting cake. Everyone was floored and so impressed by her skill and the beauty of her work.
