My fiance and I aren't very big cake people, but the cake we got was really good. I definitely wish we would've only gotten two tiers though becuase we had so much leftovers. Also, I will say that basically designing a cake from scratch, it might not come out exactly how you think it will, so keep that in mind.

Jula is a sweet lady and has such a gift for making beautiful and delicious wedding cakes!!! She made the cake of my dreams and a super cute and unique KU Jayhawks cake for my husband that was just so fun!!! 10/10 recommend Cakes by Jula! :-)

Cakes by Jula offers a variety of flavors and combinations, something for each couple to make their cake stand out. We wanted to incorporate our animals into our cake and they delivered. It was more than we expected and loved by all our guests.

Cakes by Jula made my March wedding cake. It was very easy to call and make an appointment with Jula at her shop. We went and were able to taste test our top 5 cake flavors and fillings. I described what I wanted the cake to look like and she sketched it out. She was able to make my vision come to life. I was expecting a lot of cake left over due to 60% guest attendance, but so many people had second helpings. Everyone loved the look and flavor! I highly recommend Cakes by Jula.

Cakes by Jula did our wedding cakes and WOW! So delicious! They were also amazing to work with, didn't even blink an eye when we decided to change all of our flavors two weeks after putting in our order. The cakes turned out beautifully, and we couldn't be happier with the results.

We had a design in mind that was not very traditional. Jula and her team executed it perfectly. Our wedding cake and groom's cake were exactly how we envisioned them - absolutely beautiful work! AND THE CAKES WERE DELICIOUS! The strawberry groom's cake with cream cheese icing was such a huge hit that it was completely eaten! Luckily, we had a piece saved for us that we got to eat at the hotel and we were very happy with it! My husband and I decided we will order cakes every anniversary as our new tradition!

Cakes by Jula was wonderful from beginning to end! Our first meeting included an incredible array of selections for cake options and Jula was so professional and friendly! The decision was easily made and when we asked to have an assortment of other desserts to have, she had so many great options and made sure everything fit into our budget! Jula is hands-down the best baker. Not only did our cake taste amazing but it looked EXACTLY as we had described to her. We had so many guests coming up to us to compliment the cake. Even some of vendors commented how this was the best cake they have had and they taste a lot of cakes!! I 100% would recommend Jula.

I showed up to my cake tasting with a few pictures from Pinterest and they made them come to life times 100. Our cakes were far more beautiful than I could have imagined!! In addition to being beautifully designed and decorated, they tasted AMAZING. My husband and I did not want bland, boring, dry cake. Substance had to match beauty, and Jula more than delivered. The wedding cake had a mix of carrot cake and almond cake layers with pineapple filling. The grooms cake was lemon cake with lemon curd filling. We over ordered based on our original guest list, and I wasn’t sad at all that we took lots of cake home. I can’t wait to order from them for my next event or party!

Jula was my backup when my original baker did not follow up. Jula did an absolutely amazing job creating our cake and cupcakes! Our wedding cake and cupcakes were done beautifully and looked better than I had imagined! Our 2 tier wedding cake was done in a marble style with chocolate and vanilla and was so good, we finished the leftovers in 3 days! The cupcakes were a hit with our guests and the solid chocolate starfish she did with the cake and cupcakes were so cute and so tasty!!! And she was able to get our order in about 2 weeks before the wedding!

Again, this cake was delicious! We did not have any issues, they delivered the cake on time and it was more beautiful then I could’ve imagined! Thank you Jula!

The cake was absolutely delicious and even though I forgot to check up on it Jula did an amazing job at making sure to create exactly what I wanted! She was very responsive and the outcome couldn’t have been better.

To top it off, after she delivered the cakes, she waited for the flowers for my bridal cake to arrive to help put them on. She is truly the best! My wedding cake from Cakes by Jula was perfection! It tasted amazing and was absolutely stunning! Jula and her team really brought my ideas to life and they made the consultation process so easy for me. I highly recommend Jula to anyone wanting a cake that tastes as good as it looks!

We enjoyed our wedding cake so much. It was more beautiful than the picture we showed her. The process of picking flavors was really fun and easy. We also added a sweets table and everything was so yummy. My cake came included with the venue packet. However, the extra sweets were very affordable, they looked gorgeous, and were delicious.

Our wedding cake was beautiful! Our wedding cake and grooms cake tasted amazing as well. The only issue was they weren't exactly as ordered. We had a custom wedding cake made where we took parts of previous cakes the baker had made and put them into our wedding cake. We were so excited to see the end result because the planning session was so thorough. In the end, we had the wrong flowers on the top of our cake, flowers we didnt even want on the side of our cake, and the colors absent from the designs. It was still a beautiful cake, just not what we had envisioned. The grooms cake was a custom order as well. My husband loves wrestling so we asked for a wrestling ring type cake. Seeing all of the previous work the baker had done, we were sure this was going to be an amazing cake. It was delicious but less that pleasing to the eye. It really looked like they put it together last minute or a novice decorator had their hand in decorating it. We were expecting more precision and decor, based on the conversation during planning, that they said was able to be done. All in all, an excellent choice for taste, friendliness and options of designs of cake.

Delicious and beautiful, what more could you ask for? Oh, amazing customer service, too! Everyone LOVED our cake! Jula always makes a delicious cake, but she is truly an artist, and she will create exactly what you want. She is truly amazing!

Jula's cakes both taste AND look great! We selected 3 flavors between the brides and groom's cake and the guests loved them all. We asked for an aspen tree tiered cake for the bride's cake and a camo hunting and fishing inspired cake for the groom's cake, and they both looked great! We were even able to reduce the size of the cake two weeks before due to a lower guest count than expected, and Jula was very flexible.

Fantastic to work with. Everything was set up and delivered on time and as promised. Jula made everything simple and easy. We just stopped by to pick up our tasting box, took it home and made some notes. Our next appointment we selected our design (which she was more than flexible on). Ta-dah! Done.

Cakes by Jula provided the wedding cake for our Valentine's Day wedding at Butler's Courtyard. We couldn't have been happier with the look and taste of the cake. Jula is amazing and talented! We ordered a 3-tier wedding cake and a grooms cake. Both turned out just as beautiful as I had pictured, and Guests loved the Groom’s cake design (R2D2 in a tux). They were all so flavorful and moist. Every flavor combination tasted so perfect together, it was hard to initially pick our favorites! Jula delivered both cakes to our venue and was always easy to get in contact with of if we had any questions. We will definitely be using her for all future cake needs. So happy with our choice and highly recommend!

Cakes by Jula made the wedding cake and grooms cake at my wedding. I was blown away, especially by the grooms cake (starry night). The cakes were delicious and moist. Everything a cake should be. You are missing out if you do not ever have a cake made by Jula!

Jula made this process so easy for us! We did things in the beginning mostly through email but she was so quick to respond to any questions. I was never left hanging. The cake was BEAUTIFUL and tasted amazing! She is my go to for cakes of any kind!

Jula was amazing! She knows the business so make sure you listen to her recommendations. We had a three tire cake and a grooms cake. The cakes turned out amazing and were delicious. We had pink champagne with strawberry filling, Italian cream and German chocolate. Majority of the cake was gone by the end of the night and everyone told us how great it was. Her cakes do not come out dry so that was a huge plus! She was on time and was flexible with changes. Will defiantly use her for future events.

My husband and I got married in Galveston, but live in Wisconsin. We had been recommended Cakes by Jula from our sister-in-law and it was one of the best choices! We had a cake topper for the two of us to cut and we had a variety of cupcakes for the guests. The cupcakes were moist and looked flawless - not to mention the guests loved them!! We also had a gluten free guest at our wedding. We asked Jula to make just two for that guest and she went above and beyond and made a dozen — Jula comes highly recommended!

Jula was very helpful and patient when we were picking out our cake flavors. She talked with us about different possibilities when we were unsure about what we wanted. We ended up deciding on a cake, cupcakes and cake balls. They were all so delicious and decorated beautifully. She took our overall theme and came up with great ways to decorate everything, so it all worked so well together. We were able to get all the flavor combinations we wanted. Jula even made some special chocolate covered cake balls to surprise my sister with since she is allergic to white chocolate. We had something for everyone! Every time I talked with Jula, it was a great experience. She made everything easy and I loved how everything turned out!

Cakes by Jula was great to work with. The process was easy and fun when we were picking out flavors for each tier. Surprisingly it did not cost anything extra to get a different flavor and filling for each tier of our cake! The cake looked amazing, beautiful, and classic. Everyone said it was delicious! There weren't too many leftovers at the end of the night. The groom's cake was also an amazing german chocolate in the shape of the San Antonio Spurs logo, but it was not the right colors that we specified (We wanted/requested the retro blue/orange/pink logo colors and the gray/black newer logo colors were used instead). Overall a great vendor with great prices for wedding events!

Cakes by Jula I believe was the easiest part of wedding planning. She took our ideas, and turned our visions into reality. My cake was beautiful and, more importantly, tasted amazing. Julia worked with us to get designs that we loved (Mickey). The groom's cake was a surprise, and Jula totally embodied what I wanted to surprise my groom with. Everyone complimented the cake and how yummy they were. The price was also very reasonable for how much cake we had. You can't go wrong with Cakes by Jula.

Jula and her staff were absolutely amazing to work with. We had a special request for them, to deliver our donuts from the bakery down the street. They agreed to bring them with the cake and I cannot thank them enough for that. The cake was even better than we expected and the price was insanely reasonable. Thank you!

We went with cupcakes with three different flavors, and while the guests loved them, it wasn't quite the flavor we were expecting and had taste-tested a few months prior. My biggest concern was some confusion with specifics in cupcake design we had discussed. I wanted a lilac/lavender frosted and for some reason it was white... Also, we had discussed assigning different shapes in white chocolate for each flavor so I could set out a sign. While some of the instructions were followed, I guess one of the descriptions for the symbols wasn't clear enough because I received several different shapes for one flavor instead of the one I was expecting. Because of these issues, they weren't perfect but I'd still stop by for a cupcake every now and then.

My wedding cake was EXACTLY what I wanted! It was almost to beautiful to eat, but we did and it was also delicious. I highly recommend Cakes by Jula. She is professional and prompt!

I cannot say enough good things about the professionalism and quality that come from this bakery. I used to work in food so I have a habit of scoping places out before I eat there. This place was spotless and it was right after they had a rush of people apparently because they were trying to replace what had just been taken when I arrived. Jula herself promptly sat down with me and broke it all down for me. She had Styrofoam cutouts so I could tell how large the cakes would be, she sent me home with multiple different flavors of cakes and fillings so my fiance, who got called in to work and couldn't make it, could try them too before we made a decision. I never felt pressured to make any decisions until I had all my questions answered and felt good about my decision. I actually almost ordered too much cake and instead of her just going with it, she suggested a more appropriate size for the amount of people I had and she was exactly right! The cakes were exactly like the pictures I showed her and they were DELICIOUS! People are still texting me about our cakes and our wedding was Jan 7! I will use her from now on for any event!

I purchased my custom-made groom's cake from Cakes by Jula, based in League City. The cake was a chocolate fudge-filled firefighter helmet and hose. It looked and tasted phenomenal! They did a wonderful job, and they are very reasonably priced.
