I can not describe how amazing our wedding cake was. Mindy made our cake so beautiful that we almost didn't want to eat it! It was a true work of art. On top of that it was so DELICIOUS. Our cake was made to feed 130-140 people and we had 75 guests (my choice because I wanted a 4 tier cake). But every single piece of cake was GONE, people are still raving about how good the cake was! Cakes by Mindy made the best cake I have ever tasted for our wedding! The flavors stood out, and the cake was so moist and soft. It was a pleasure to work with Mindy. She was professional, while keeping us comfortable. We went with a 4 tier cake, with a different flavor and fillings each tier. The cake was absolutely beautiful! HIGHLY recommend!! Mindy was amazing to work with. We met up with her to do a taste testing before booking and also to figure out which flavor(s) we liked and to discuss design and any other details. We had a 4 tier cake and ended up choosing a different combination of flavors/fillings for each tier to try and make all guests happy! We ended up changing our mind on the cake design closer to the wedding and Mindy was flexible and told us that was totally fine. Our cake turned out SO beautiful and delicious and we got so many compliments on it. Counting down the days until our anniversary so we can eat that top layer and try it again! :)

The process was easy. There was a book that we could look through and get ideas. Each layer was customized to our wants. The cake was of course delicious. Mindy was friendly and answered all of my questions. Definitely worth it!

We received SO many compliments about our wedding cake, most of which were "this is the best wedding cake we've ever had!" from people who have been to MANY weddings. We cannot thank Mindy enough, we highly recommend her for your wedding cake or any event!

Mindy was so great from the start - she got us a quote quickly and answered all the questions (and there were many) we had about potentially going with her for our day. She even let us bring our niece to the tasting, and made it so fun! We talked with her about the flavors, rated them, etc., then she was able to sketch out our vision for the cake, even though she was the first tasting of the day. We had such a great time and enjoyed her cake so much, we decided to go with her. We changed some things and still had some lingering questions, all of which she answered and accepted with no hesitation. On the day of, she delivered the cake and put all of the decorations on it, really executing our vision and the cake was just as delicious as we remembered. We were even able to freeze some leftover and defrost after our honeymoon to enjoy (it tasted like it was still freshly made). We look forward to using Mindy in the future for anniversary cakes, etc!

Mindy was one of several wedding cake vendors that we met with in our search for a wedding cake. We did not book with her because a different vendor fit our needs a little better. We just wanted to leave a review for anyone who is interested in booking with her. She was absolutely wonderful to meet with! The complementary tasting included six different flavors. She spent time going over everything she has to offer and laid out all the pricing and what she recommended based on our guest count. She was very professional, had great energy and communication, and was, overall, really nice to talk to. If you are thinking about booking with her, then we would highly recommend her!

The cake was beautiful for my wedding. I had a vision that I was having a hard time describing but Mindy heard me and made it even better. We had Mindy’s delicious cake for the greatest day in our life -- our daughter's wedding! Mindy is absolutely the best person to work with on the wedding cake!I was not only a mother of the bride but also a wedding coordinator, and Mindy’s great personality, energy, creativity, talent, and flexibility helped me to relax and continue with my multiple responsibilities. I completely trusted Mindy with everything including the absolutely heavenly taste and elegant decoration of the cake and its timely delivery. At the wedding, the cake was disappearing from the cake table as soon as it was served. We had the four-tier cake with four different flavors and fillings, which usually served 120 people, and all of our guests could not get enough. It was SO great!!! Wow. Just wow. Mindy came through for us in a time crunch weeks before the wedding. Did everything we asked and more. Cake looked absolutely stunning. Guests are still talking about the cake two days later haha, but in all seriousness everyone loved the cake. The yellow citrus cake specifically was a huge hit. Can't say enough good things. The unsung hero of our wedding day. Can't wait to purchase a small cake on our one year anniversary because there's no way this cake is lasting a year in the freezer. Our cake was an absolute HIT with our guests. (We literally had no left overs due to people getting 2nds and 3rds- because it was that good) Mindy was great and super easy to work with. She had so many flavors for us to chose from and allowed us to design the cake how we wanted. She delivered directly to our venue and made the taste-testing and payment process easy for us. I 1000% recommend!

Mindy rocks!!!! We wanted the script from the Lord of the Rings one ring and Mindy DID IT!!!! Everyone told me that the cake was one of the best cakes they had ever had! Got the best wedding cake from Mindy!!!! She was super easy to work with and coordinate a tasting with when we were back in town from our current home of Boston. We ended up going with the double chocolate cake as well as the white chocolae raspberry and everyone raved about how delicious it was! The design was simple and elegant- just what I asked for. Would definitely use Mindy again!

The most AMAZING cake! Not only are Mindy's cakes beautiful but they are so delicious! We had so many guests ask who made our cake because they loved it so much. She allows you so many customizations and options so we were able to have a variety of flavors. All of them were delicious!

Mindy makes the best cake I have ever eaten - no exaggeration. So many wonderful flavors to choose from, decorations, and shapes/designs. She really listened to what we wanted and designed two (wedding and grooms) beautiful and delicious cakes. She managed to make a cake that fed 350 and still looked detailed and wonderful. I love when I get invited to weddings at Receptions because I know we are going to get to eat her cake!

We hired Mindy for our November 2019 wedding and the cake was PERFECT! She was so easy to work with - she drew out what our cake would look like (which was great to envision it) and she made it look exactly how we liked! And so many of our guests said it was the wedding cake they've had and I have to agree! We had 5 layers: orange, lemon, chocolate fudge/cookies & cream, yellow with raspberry filling and Bavarian cream. I HIGHLY recommend getting Cakes by Mindy!

Mindy's cakes have always been (and will always be) delicious and the cake she made for my wedding was no exception. I used to work at Receptions many years ago when the staff would always be excited if we saw her name on the BEO because that meant we would be getting delicious scraps during the event. Her cakes were so memorable that when my sister got married (2013), I remembered her cakes by name and told my sister to check her out. Needless to say Mindy was booked. Again when my sister was pregnant, we booked Mindy for her baby shower desserts (2016), and for her daughters baptism (2017), and my brother's wedding (2018), and then most recently for my wedding. Mindy makes it very easy to choose her because not only are her flavors delicious (my dad legitimately had 4 pieces of cake at our reception), but her designs are beautiful as well. You will not regret adding her to your team for your wedding and literally any other event in your life. Even if you're just craving some delicious cake. We can't wait to get out our top tier one our one year anniversary!

Mindy makes the best cakes. It was so hard to decide on flavours for our wedding cake as all of her selections were so good. Our cake was the Best cake we ever ate! It was decorated very nice!

Mindy created a masterpiece for our wedding cake! She was very attentive at our tasting session and worked with us to draw up a custom design that melded the favorite aspects of several other cakes we had found. When we walked into our reception we could not believe how beautiful and perfect our cake was. We didn’t even want to cut into it. That being said the cake was delicious and loved by all. Our guests commented both on the beauty and taste of the cake all night long. We will definitely be using Mindy again in the future for any of our custom cake needs.

Mindy created an amazing cake for us! She created a sketch based off our dream cake description. We were not only impressed with the design she created at our tasting, but we were shocked by the intricate details and pure beauty of the cake! The cake tasted better than any cake we’ve ever had. Our cake was delicious!! I’ve had Mindy’s cake before so I knew it would be good, but I think something about it being your own wedding cake makes it taste even better! We had five different flavors for people to choose from. Our cake was decorated beautifully as well! I asked Mindy to put our dogs made out of fondont on the cake as well as a little something extra and they turned out so cute! We loved everything about our cake!

Wow is all I can say. The cake that Mindy made for our wedding at Receptions was the best cake I have ever had. She made us a 5 tier cake to feed 300 people (Chocolate with Peanut Butter Filling, White Cake with Oreo Filling, White Cake with Raspberry Buttercream and Chocolate cake with Choc fudge filling) and We had sooo many compliments on that cake, the beauty and the taste, our guests loved it!!!!! I am so happy I asked our venue to cut a few pieces for us to enjoy after the reception because I know we wouldn't have gotten any!!! We only had to meet with her 1 time for the tasting and design and she took it from there! I highly recommend Mindy for all of your cake needs!!

The cupcakes for our wedding turned out nicely, as did our bride and groom cake. However, there was not much of a wow factor to the cakes, other than the chocolate cupcakes with cannoli filling. If the cake had not come with the reception hall package, I'm not sure I would have went with Cakes by Mindy.

My cake was absolutely beautiful! I loved how pretty it looked and so did all of my guests. However, the way more important thing to me and my guest was the taste. We got different flavors and fillings on each tier and all were absolutely amazing. People are still talking about how good it was and I got married 7/19/14. Since getting my cake from Mindy I followed her facebook and see so many other beautiful cakes. She also does other types of cakes so I plan to use her for all my future cake needs because after tasting my wedding cake, nothing else will do!

We had Mindy make our cake for our wedding in February 2012 after learning that her work was included in the package that we chose at Receptions: Eastgate. If the cake had not been included in the package we would have went with Mindy after seeing her past creations when we were looking at everything for our reception. Mindy was very professional and really took into account the details that we discussed at our tasting. My husband is not a cake eater but loved that he was able to choose whatever cake type and filling that he wanted and the Oreo filling was huge hit with him! Throughout the wedding planning process, no matter which vendor we used they all asked "who will be doing your cake?". Whenever I said Cakes by Mindy at Receptions I got the same response, "she's excellent at what she does, and will not disappoint." When we walked into our reception hall and seen the beautiful masterpiece she created, we were very impressed to say the least. Not only did the cake turn out exactly like we hoped it would, it tasted delicious too. We keep getting complimented on our cake and it's all thanks to Mindy. If you use her as your vendor, order extra cake...I'm telling you, you won't have any left!!!

We had a top tier to cut then everything else was cupcakes. It was really nice we got to choose however many flavors and fillings we wanted with no additional cost. Best value out there! I did plenty of research too

Mindy was awesome to work with and she puts a lot of care into her cakes. She was happy to host us by ourselves at Receptions privately for a tasting of multiple flavors and fillings. We even brought my teenage nephew unexpectedly and she provided some cake samples for him as well. She had many pictures to show us to help with ideas on the look of the cake and was super professional. In the end, our cake was gorgeous, fed almost 180 guests and was wiped out except for the top of the cake for us to use for anniversaries. It has now been 9 months since our wedding, and we still get huge complements on how beautiful and unbelievably delicious our flavor and filling choices were. We had 2 kinds, the chocolate cake with chocolate fudge filling and yellow cake with Bavarian Cream. Her designs and choices are second to none and I can't begin to tell you how many referrals we have sent her way since all of which have been hugely satisfied. If you are going to spend money for a wedding cake either on a tight budget or if the sky is the limit, you will not be disappointed! Mindy is the best, hands down! I am going to have Mindy make us another cake for our 1 year anniversary for my husband and close family to share!

Price and style was everything we wanted!

This cake was absolutely wonderful! She took all of our ideas and turned them into a beautiful cake. Everyone at our wedding commented on how delicious the cake was. We had white with raspberry filling, white with oreo filling, yellow with chocolate fudge filling, and white with chocolate fudge filling. You will not go wrong by going with Cakes by Mindy at Receptions!

Mindy is so nice you just want to take her home and make her your new best friend. She is the baker for Receptions but will deliver to other venues. We found a picture of a cake we wanted online (it had a lot of henna type piping on it) and took it to several vendors Mindy was the only one who didn't look ovewhelmed by it and she is the only one who didn't want to charge extra for so much hand piping. So we went with her. When we saw our wedding cake at our wedding we were amazed at the detail she put into the cake she even included our initals into the henna design. She did an amazing job! Now the taste was even better than it looked. I'm not a chocolate cake person in fact it wasn't even on our list of favorites at the other tastings we went to, but Mindy's chocolate cake is hands down the best chocolate cake I've ever had. Our other flavors were white with lemon filling and carrot cake they were fabulous as well. We will be keeping Mindy in mind for other special occations in the future.

Mindy did a great job with our cake and she was easy to work with. Our package with Receptions included our cake but her pricing was good even if your package didn't include one. Our cake turned out better than my husband I I could have imagined and ours was the first wedding that I've ever been to that the entire cake was eaten! If that doesn't point to good quality cake then I don't know what does.
