Cakes by Nadine

Nadine was EXCELLENT!!! She brought all of our ideas for our fairy-tailed wedding theme come to life. Our cake was stunning!!!!!! She was easy to work with, prompt, fun, and creative throughout the entire process. Some fancy cakes look nice, but do not taste good. Ours was delicious! Our guest are still raving about our cake. We plan to be customers for life!

When I met with Nadine I had no idea what I wanted my cake to look like. Nadine sat down with me for a few hours and we carefully brainstormed ideas for my cake. The design she came up with surpassed any ideas I could have ever come up with!! She was super excited to design my cake and her passion for cake designs was made clear from the get go. When I saw my cake on my wedding day my jaw fell to the floor. It was more beautiful than what I could have imagined and was so perfectly made. She only does a few weddings cakes a weekend too to be sure each one is perfect!!!! It tasted absolutely amazing too! I will definitely be using Nadine in the future for any cakes I might need!!!! Worth every penny.

I did a small two tier cake. Tasted okay. The organization of the business is awful, and she is over priced.

Truthfully, don't bother with this vendor. Nadine is less expensive that some other bakeries, but after trying to work with her, I see why. The store is uninviting, cluttered and not up to date. The photo albums showcased mostly old fashioned cake styles and contracts are done on paper by had instead of with computers. I got the impression that this business is run exactly as it has been since the day it opened. That made me uneasy about if she would be able to keep up with the ever changing designs and styles for cakes. In addition, the service was unreliable. I was told in several conversations that I did not need an appointment for a cake tasting and that I could come in any Saturday at a certain time. I followed that direction but was told on arrival that I did need an appointment to taste cakes. To "accommodate" us anyway we were placed in the back and given a few pieces of whatever they still had in the bakery. (And they didn't even know what the flavors were of the pieces we got). Nadine does not always reliably return phone calls, and there is no e-mail or cell phone to reach her on. This was incredible frustrating at times, especially when she did not show up for a meeting which she had personally confirmed the evening before. On arrival for the final meeting, there was no way to reach her to ask about the missed meeting, and there was no call during the day to let me know that she would not be able to make the meeting. In the end, I did not feel I could trust this vendor to deliver. I did not want to have to worry all of my wedding day if she would show up with my cake, so I switched to a different cake vendor at the last minute (as in, 15 days before my wedding). And I am happy I did.

My husband and I got married on October 18 this year. When looking for a cake, we tried quite a few places, but everywhere else was either really expensive or the cake wasn't very good. With Nadine, we had the best of both worlds! She was able to work within our budget and the cake was delicious! Not only did she capture exactly what we had in mind design wise, she blew us away when we saw the cake with our extra sunflowers from the florist decorated on the sides! The cake was stunning. We also purchased our wedding invitations and thank you cards from Cakes by Nadine. They turned out beautifully! They will even assemble them for you! Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend Cakes by Nadine for not only cakes and dessert, but also wedding invitations! We had already booked our florist before meeting with Nadine, but she also does flowers, too!

This is a tricky review to write. The cakes that Nadine made for our wedding were great. Everyone really liked them. I can't complain. However, we also used her for our flowers and that was a disaster. My bouquet was not at all what I requested, they did not deliver pins for the boutaneers (fortunately the church had some), they messed up the mother of the bride flowers even though we had talked at length about what that should look like, they forgot items that we ordered and delivered items we did not order and the flowers in my bouquet, as well as my bridesmaids, were wilted and brown on the edges. At the end of the day I am the only one who knew they were wrong but for the rest of my life when I look at my photos I will notice that they do not look the way I wanted because the flowers were wrong. I would NOT recommend getting flowers here. Stick with the cakes, which they do a nice job with.

I went to Cakes by Nadine not only for decorations for my wedding, but for my shower as well. Nadine made lavender rose cupcakes for my shower that were just as beautiful as they were delicious (chocolate and white almond). We also rented chandelier centerpieces for the shower, several tier stands, lavender roses and macaroons for favors. Everything turned out beautiful and the compliments were pouring in about what a gorgeous shower it turned out to be. For my wedding, Cakes by Nadine also did my flowers. I can't even describe how beautiful my bouquet was. It was the most beautiful bouquet I have ever seen (white garden roses, hydrangea, peonies, and gardenias, wrapped in white satin with a "bling" band). We had several meetings before my wedding and Nadine was always very patient and understanding of my vision (I was a very organized, particular bride and knew exactly what I wanted). She did everything she could to make my day just right. Not only did she do my bouquet and my bridesmaid's bouquets, but she also did tulle and baby's breath for the church, tulle for the reception, centerpieces for the reception, Swarovski cake tiers, engraving for my cake serving set and set up a crystal tree for the escort card table. She went beyond and above for my wedding and I couldn't have been more pleased with the way everything turned out. I would highly recommend you to Cakes by Nadine for anything you need for your wedding....believe me, she does it all!!

She came recommended by our reception venue, which turned out to be a mistake! DO NOT GET YOUR CAKE FROM HER! Save yourself some stress!!!! We live out of town and would have to make appointments. She was at least a 30minutes or more late to all appointments we set weeks in advance or she had forgotten and had to be called by the women at the store! At our third and last appointment, we discovered she had written our wedding date wrong and had the weekend after. Very stressful, unreliable and very poor communication! We had both a grooms cake and wedding cake. The wedding cake was fine. We kept it simple after reading the horrific reviews. The grooms cake was a bit more complicated and was not as we had discussed. Some of the decor of the cake was falling off and the color icing was supposed to be black but she frosted it in white. When you meet with her, she can be very pushy. I understand that she is the professional but how she approaches customers is very rude.

Cakes by Nadine provided us with a wonderful wedding cake! They were more than happy to work with me via email since I live over two hours from their location. Our cake fit our theme and it also tasted amazing! They gave me suggestions on a cake topper and it ended up looking awesome!

Beautiful - Excellent - Just what I vision!

They did my flowers and cake as a package deal,and everything was Perfect and Beautiful.My flower bouguet looked just like the picture I gave them the cake tasted delicious,and was exactly what I ordered-Definitely recommended!

I had a great experience with Cakes by Nadine and in my consultation they did a great design on what I was looking for. They also were able to put a monogram design for my husband, who is in the Army, on the bottom of the cake and it looked great! The only bad thing was that they forgot my cake topper at their store and had to be reminded at the venue by my mother that they forgot it.

We had an appointment there. They were not ready. They gave us 2 slice of cake didn't tell us what they were, they were gross and dry. We asked to see pictures of cakes they have done, ne word unorganized. They had dirty sticky photos in a manila folder. The store looked like a junk store all dusty, dirty, and dark. I did, however get my cake topper there. Not only did they give my order to another bride and did not tell me, my order became backorderd and came in wrong. They talked so much crap about there competitors it was very uncomfortable.

I got my flowers through cakes by nadine. When I originally met with them to order, I just picked flowers that I liked out of a book, and they did the rest. The flowers were absolutely beautiful. Exactly what I was hoping for.

My sister and I both ordered our wedding cakes and favors from Cakes by Nadine this past year. The first time I went for a tasting, I didn't have an appointment but Jean went out of her way to sit down and meet with me. Their cakes are fresh-baked for each wedding NOT frozen like some other bakeries. Nadine and Jean have been so kind to my family. I was really happy that I was also able to order a custom Groom's cake for the rehearsal dinner to surprise my fiance. He's a huge Steelers fan, so they made the cake bright yellow with an edible image to look like the Terrible Towel :) He loved it!

They were the only ones who sat down with us and drew a cake. And the finsihed product looked just like the picture. it was amazing! and it tasted delisious! everyone talked about how good it was!

Cakes by Nadine actually did my parents wedding cake 25 years ago as well as my sisters cake 2 years ago. I was the 3rd generation and her quality hasn't gone down over the years! She makes amazing and beautiful wedding cakes! Everyone at the wedding raved over how good it was, we unfortunately never got a piece other than throwing it in each others faces so we will have to wait until our anniversary to officially have a piece but the part that I tasted was so good! We also got our flowers from them and they were beyond words, they were exactly what I wanted and more, we also got a discount from them for combining the two!

We Love Nadine's. They have a history of good cake. Nadine's charges different prices depending on the "complexity" of the cake. So, you have to pay a little more to get what you want. Personally, I felt that if you didn't want a dated cake that looked like it belonged in the 80s, you were going to pay too much. Or at least more than what we had in our budget. That being said, we got our wedding cake somewhere else. As the wedding approached, we missed some of the unique flavors Nadine's offered, so we ended up getting a custom grooms cake. The cake was AWESOME! It looked like the Game of Throne's Throne.

Working with Cakes by Nadine for my wedding cake was just wonderful. Everything is so personalized--you get to sit down and work with the very person that will be making your cake to design a completely unique cake! I loved the process and the result!

I was so impressed by the work done by Nadine. Not only did the cake look great but it tasted great! Nadine is a true artist! I had a fairly specific vision for my cake and she was able to accomplish it with ease! I will be going back to this shop for other events in which cake is needed. The pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese frosting was amazing!!

Flowers were beautiful, but he did not listen to me when I said I wanted a cascading bouquet, I was very sad when my bouquet was similar to my bridesmaids. also he didn't do what I wanted for the table center pieces and the head table, I was very disappointed!!! I also used Cakes by Nadine for our cake, and our cake was delicious, and we were very pleased with it!!

My experience has always been that beautiful cakes usually taste "OK" at best. My cake was both gorgeous and delicious! I received numerous compliments from guests, and they were all surprised to hear that our cake was from the heart of Broadview Heights! It was a very convenient, stress free process. I would highly recommend Cakes by Nadine to any soon-to-be Bride/Groom!

We loved cakes by Nadine! When we walked in someone sat with us and actually ask us questions about our theme and what colors we were using and then started to draw out a cake for us, I couldn't believe they personalized a cake for us. It was great! The cake itself was even better, our guest rave about the flavor and moistness of it. Would highly recommend it! Great Price as well!

Our wedding cake was aboslutely gorgeous and Nadine took the idea I had in my head and made it a reality and it was DELICIOUS! I will use them again and again!

My husband and I went to several bridal shows together in preparation for our wedding. We tasted tons of cake and neither of were ever impressed with what we tried until we tasted Nadines cake! It was so moist, the flavor was truly amazing. On our day our guests thought the cake was FAKE! That's how perfect it looked. Then we cut into the cake and the guests were served the cake and everyone kept coming back up for more. All we were able to take home was the top of our cake. I even ordered a larger cake because we knew how good it was! Everyone left happy and the consultations with Nadine were awesome and the cake was truly the most amazing cake I've ever eaten!

Was exactly as we wanted and beautiful. We had about 100 guests and cake for 150 people. There was none left. I couldn't be more pleased.

I would not recommend this company, my cake was not how it was suppose to be they forgot details that were clearly written down on the contract..

We were really disappointed when we walked into the hall and saw the cake. It was not at all what we had discussed. There were no real flowers, the color was totally off, and it was a bummer because what we had talked about and designed was so awesome. It did not look anything like it.

We found Cakes by Nadine in the Weddings in Cleveland magazine. We enjoyed meeting with Nadine and company and were very impressed with their vision for our cake and wedding flowers. The end result far exceeded our expectations.

I just got married in April and we hired Cakes By Nadine to do our cake. It was stunning, everything I had hoped for and more. I had complete confidence in Nadine from the start. She has such a creative knack and is so talented I knew I had nothing to worry about. The end result.... my cake as I mentioned was stunning and it was absolutely delicious!

The cake was great and the only one in the area that could promise us a nut free cake. I wished staff there was better. The weeks before our wedding I tried to get a hold of Nadine but couldn't. We had a meeting set up but when we arrived to the shop no one was there. We traveled 40 minutes to sit in a parking lot for 30 mins. When I came time for the final payment during the week before the wedding I again traveled the 40 mins both ways. I gave the check and was told we were all set. When I got home the lady I had spoken to at the shop called me to let me know they forgot to charge us for the stand. I was so mad and stressed that I told them just to forget it. I wondered what the cake would turn out like... but it did look great!

Cakes by Nadine is absolutely amazing. We went to a cake tasting and knew right away that she was going to make our cake. I also did a surprise grooms cake for our rehearsal dinner and he absolutely loved it. She also made it in his favorite cake flavor "fun- fettie". We arrived to our reception and the cake was in the middle of the dance floor and it was very elegant. We had a five tiered cake with real red roses in between each layer. Also each layer was a different flavor! The detailing was very intricate and flawless. Everyone loved how our cake looked and even how it tasted. What a combo! We will be using Nadine for more functions in the future.

I cannot say enough great things about our wedding cake. It was beautiful and tasted amazing. Nadine was SO nice and made me feel so comfortable. She made the cake look exactly as I had pictured!

Nadine is so wonderful to work with! Not only did we have THE BEST cake from her, but they also printed our beautiful invitations!!! The cake, was EXACTLY what we wanted and tasted AMAZING! (We will be going back for Birthday cakes!!!!!)

We found Cakes by Nadine at a bridal show and knew from then on that she would do our wedding cake. At our consultation, Nadine sat with my husband and I, listening to our ideas quietly, then took off drawing and coloring a design for us to look at. What she drew us, was completely perfect! The day of our wedding we were so excited to see what it would look like, and when we saw it, we were both floored. Every detail was just as she told us, and we were so proud of our Wedding Cake. We heard nothing but great reviews from our guests on the taste of our cake. My husband and I are looking forward to eating our own top portion in a year!

WOW! I had a beach theme wedding and the cake that Nadine made was absolutely beautiful. It was exactly what I wanted. It had three tiers the botttom had small blue waves and then icing, the second had champange collered pearls, and the third had crinelli design that looked like coral. The cake had seashells on it, but the seashells were made out of white chocolate and then each was hand painted. The cake topper was a sand castle. At the base of the cake the was crushed graham crakers and our names were written in it to make it look like sand. It was so beautiful I get compliments on it all the time. I also have to say it was not only beautiful, but it soooooooooooooo yummy. The cake was moist and the flavors were wonderful. I would recommend Cakes by Nadine to anyone.

Nadine did my parents wedding cake while she was still doing it out of her house. 25 years later she did my wedding cake. My cake looked exactly how I envisioned it. It tasted great and looked amazing.

Words cannot say enough about Nadine and her staff. Our wedding cake was amazing and unique. She handcrafted a mask for the top of our cake! The cake looked beautiful and tasted super fresh. We also got our dinner rehearsal cake from her and this was also looked and tasted great. We are still getting compliments on both cakes. She also has unique favors you can buy. We got the mask mold and all of our guests loved them. BEST wedding cake ever!!! Get any cake for all occasions from Cakes by Nadine and you will not be disappointed! Great value, great quality, great service... what else can you ask for!

We used Nadine for our wedding cake and were very happy with it! Her prices were very reasonable and the cake was delicious! We had a layer of Strawberry cake and a layer of white cake with raspberry cream frosting. I liked our design, but it could have been executed a little better. I would recommend Cakes By Nadine if you're looking for a delicious cake and friendly people to work with.

The cake was more beautifull than I could have imagined. I loved that we were able to design it right on the spot. Staff and Nadine were very nice. I recieved many compliments on not only how pretty but that it tasted good too!

Our cake was not only beautiful and exactly and I had described it to Nadine, but it also tasted great! She is a great baker and artist! I would recommend her to everyone!

She also backed cookies for us with a perfect monogram on each cookie that matched our cake topper! She individually wrapped each cookie and attached it to a personalized hot chocolate packet we provided (it was a December wedding). She went above and beyond our expectations without charging extra money.

Our wedding cake was amazing! It was everything we wanted and more. For the wedding cake they were very easy to work with!;I used them for a surprise groom's cake for my husband. I was so excited about it and the cake cost me over $400. Nobody told me that i had the option for them to deliver that cake to our rehearsal dinner. I just assumed since it was a smaller cake it was up to me. So my sister and I went to go pick it up and still nobody thought it was a problem for me to take it home. Then as my sister and I left the cake started to fall apart. Piece by piece the different decorations started to fall off the cake and then (because the cake was a topsy turvey style) the whole top of the cake slid off and next to the base. I was devistated. Since it was only an hour before the actual rehearsal my father and brother-in-law went up to the cake place to get it fixed. The woman at the counter was very gratious about it but the designer was sooo rude to my dad and acted like it was our fault. We found out that actually the cake should have been delivered and they infact remade the cake and delivered it to the the rehearsal dinner. It was not nearly as nice as the orginal it was smaller and not worth the $400 dollars I had paid. I was devistated since that was my wedding gift to my husband. It is sad because i really do love their cakes they taste great and our wedding cake was amazing. But because of the way the treated us with the groom's cake I will never go their again and neither will anyone in my family!

Took my suggestions and sketches and made it happen. Very reasonably priced. Allowed me to provide them with materials so that ribbons and other details matched my wedding decor perfectly. Great tasting cake - based on our wedding, many engaged friends decided to book them too.

The cake was so moist and the icing was sweet, but not overbearing. It was decorated beautifully. I didn't know exactly what I wanted. She sat with me and listened to my ideas and sketched me a cake design. I went to so many other cake bakers who all they wanted to do was force you to pick something from their album of cakes. Nadine was wonderful!

Best wedding cake I've ever had! Able to design the cake the way we wanted it!

They gave me exactly what I wanted. They even took a swatch of fabric to match the icing color. They delivered it to the reception location. And the cake tasted great.;As with most, if not all, of the bakeries in the area, they only offer a few days in the year for tastings, which can make it difficult.

She did everything I asked

Nadine was so helpful and easy to work with. I would have to say that my cake was one of only 2 things that ended up exactly as I had wanted. She listened to everything we said and drew diagrams as we spoke and made a gorgeous cake that was exactly what I had described.;Make sure to book her far in adnvance she is a popular vendor and her time fills up very quickly. She won't need any final choices until very close to the date so don't worry about that. We booked 6 mos in advance and she already was booked for our date (after us thank goodness!)
