Our venue worked with Tanis and as a destination wedding I didn’t have a chance to do a tasting. We chose flavors based on a list and sent a picture of the cake we wanted. It was s...
o yummy and got rave reviews....all 3 flavors and looked exactly like what I wanted
Our cake was beautiful and delicious! Tanis was so easy and wonderful to work with. Great experience overall!
Cakes by Tanis was awesome. Our wedding cake was beautiful. She fixed it just like we wanted and it tasted great. The cake was nice and fluffy. The price was very affordable.
My daughter, her soon to be mother in law and I went to a cake tasting at the home of Tanis. We requested a key lime bride's cake and specified no green food coloring was to be use...
d. We were informed that a natural cake tends to be dense, like a pound cake, which we sampled and loved. After the meeting we decided on a chocolate groom's cake of Han Solo frozen in carbonite (Star Wars geeks will understand) with the words "I love you.... I know" on it. Three weeks before the event, I called Tanis to describe the cake and was asked to send photos of what we wanted, which I did on the same day along with a link of where to find the mold for it. Three days before the wedding, Tanis informed my daughter that she just found my email and wouldn't be able to make the cake in time for the event. A substitute cake was decided on between my daughter and Tanis which ended up being a major disappointment in appearance and taste (very dry) The storm troopers and Darth Vader were juvenile in appearance as well. When the bridal couple went to slice the bride's cake, lo and behold - a piece of green cake was the first slice served. The texture and color was not what we requested, sampled, and approved. That's 2 cakes screwed up folks - major bummer x 2
My wedding cake was beautiful and tasted amazing. I had a small two tiered topper and 100 cupcakes. She made them exactly as I had asked.
Tanis was wonderful! Our cake was absolutely beautiful and tasted great. She was very reasonable and accommodated our needs very well. She even made a Porsche 911 (car) cake for my...
grooms cake. I was shocked at how good it really was. Ultimately, I would recommend Tanis to anyone.
My husband and I had a cake tasting with Cakes by Tanis, and it was the easiest decision we had to make! The cakes were so moist and delicious, and we aren't even cake eaters! But ...
we loved these!!
The bride's cake was 5 tiers, every other layer was vannila with buttercream, and then strawberry with buttercream. I had found a picture on Pintrest of a very simple, yet elegant white cake with fondant flowers on the side. I sent the picture to Tanis, and she did a fabulous job! I liked it better than what I found online!
My husband chose carrot cake with cream cheese icing for his groom's cake...and he wanted it to look like a stiped bass. (Big fisherman)I also sent this picture to Tanis, and my huisband was in love with his cake! All of the cake flavors were just delicious.
Cakes by Tanis also provided instructions on how to freeze the top layer of the cake, so when you eat it on your one year wedding anniversary, it's still delicious. Very helpful!!
I don't care how my cake turned out. The lack of communication, her losing every bit of information I sent to her 5 different times, and her rudeness will not make up for the cake...
. I did not even know what it was going to look like until my husband took a pic of it from the reception room when he was finalizing tables. Talk about making a nervous bride. Tanis is rude, does not communicate, and looses everything. I would not even speak to her she made me so mad. I hope everyone reads this and stays away!!
The cake was amazing. One of the best cakes I have ever had.
Tanis was very friendly, and offered a wide variety of options. The cake itself didn't quite look like I expected, nonetheless it was still very pretty. Most of all, as my guests...
said, and I agree, "this is the most delicious cake I have ever had!"
Her prices are great, too!
Tanis was amazing!! I called her with only 3 weeks until my wedding because the other baker I was trying to get a hold of stop contacting me. I was freaking out. Then I called Tani...
s and got a hold of her right away. Her cake was delicious and affordable and she could change my order up until the week of if I needed to. The cake was beautiful and exactly what my husband and I wanted.
Does wonderful cake decorating and offers to take the cake to where it needs to go! And super nice and responds to emails quickly!
We had a destination wedding in Fort Walton Beach and hired Tanis to make our 3-tier wedding cake and a "Companion Cube" (from video game Portal) groom's cake. I sent her photos of...
what I wanted, and both turned out beautifully. All of the cakes were delicious! Tanis provided instructions for freezing and thawing the top tier for our anniversary. We have only been married for a month, but I followed the same instructions for the leftover cakes and brought them to work when we returned from our honeymoon, and the cakes were just as moist and delicious. We had asked for strawberry filling in our German Chocolate groom's cake, but she used chocolate filling. No big deal - it was still good. Tanis is not quick at responding to emails or answering all questions when she does respond, and she does not write sales contracts, which kind of makes for a nervous bride, but I am happy with the end result. Everyone loved our cakes. I would recommend!
I put my trust into Tanis to deliver and she totally did! I don't live in Florida, so I had to order a cake without taste-testing. I told Tanis what I liked, sent her a picture, an...
d she did exactly what she said she would do! AND she drove to Destin to deliver it 3 hours earlier than we had originally planned. She is awesome!
We found Tanis online while trying to plan a destination wedding. We loved that Tanis had beautiful cakes and was so friendly to communicate with. We weren't sure about having a ca...
ke with fondant or butter cream so she sent us a sample of her delicious fondant in the mail for us to taste. When we arrived in Florida for the wedding we took our cake toppers and ribbon to her we wanted to use on the cakes. When the cakes arrived to the reception venue we were beyond pleased with both the bride and groom cakes. They were absolutley perfect and tasted delicious!! We couldn't have asked for anything better! Thank you Tanis for all of your hard work and making our wedding day absolutely perfect!!
Tanis is supposedly the best cake person in Panama City, Florida. Guess what? She is not! Not only is she extremely hard to get a hold of, but she can't even follow simple instruct...
ions. I gave her a picture of exactly what I wanted my cake to look like (only difference is a different color trim to match my colors and to use my flowers). The squares of cake were not even squares. The black strip down the center and the black separators were not black. You could see cardboard on the separators (between the layers). The cardboard showing and not looking professional was even pointed out to her (through text picture) and she responded with moving the ribbon down and her job was done. We have never heard anything from her. There was no skill behind this cake. I should have saved the money and made it myself. Might have actually turned out better.... Stay away from Cakesbytanis.com
I ordered a three tiered beach wedding cake from Tanis for our wedding. Not only does it take FOREVER to get responses from Tanis while you are trying to coordinate your order, but...
the cake I ordered was absolutely terrible. She dropped it off at our location without letting anyone know. When I finally saw it, it was nothing like what I had expected. The shells around the tiers had already started to fall off before the ceremony even began. The fondant was not smoothed out, and the colors were nothing like what I had asked for. To make matters worse, she dropped off the cake with no topper!!! We ordered a beautiful sand dollar topper to match the rest of the cake, but she never made it! She delivered the cake completely bare and my poor maid of honor had to fabricate a topper just one hour before the ceremony began! When I tried to call the number Tanis left, she never picked up, and claimed through e-mail several days later that no one ever called her. She did not feel any remorse what-so-ever for ruining our wedding cake experience. And it DEFINITELY wasn't worth the $450 she charged for it! I DO NOT recommend using her service unless you enjoy disappointment.
Both of my cakes were perfect. Tanis makes an awesome fondant.
Tanis is a great cake maker. Her cakes are beautiful and delicious! She's a great person to work with, friendly and the prices are great too! I got 3 cakes from her.
not only was my cake beautiful, it was absolutely amazingly delicious. I would recommend Tanis to anyone!!! She is wonderful.
Our cakes were beautiful and unique! She's very affordable and easy to work with! Both cakes were very moist and tasty! She is one of the best!
Tanis did an great job on my cake. I took her 3 pictures of 3 different cakes, pointed out what i liked about each cake, and she made it all into one cake! Very pretty cake and e...

Tanis did a fabulous job on both my cake, as well as my husband's cake! His cake was a little more difficult, I think...but, she was ready and willing to order whatever she needed,...

I absolutely LOVED the cake that Tanis made me! She catered to exactly what I wanted, and it looked exactly like the picture I sent her. And the cake tasted amazing!!! The price ...
was very reasonable as well, and she delivered the cake at the exact time she said she would, which helped me to not have to worry about it. Overall, a happy bride!!!
Very sweet, makes great cakes
Tanis made us a beautiful wedding cake! We told her a general idea of what we wanted the cake to look like and she exceeded our expectations. The cake was beautiful, but she did ...
not make the type of cake we requested. We are not sure what happened, but we asked for part of the cake to be cheesecake and instead we got regular wedding cake. The guests loved it and we got many compliments on it so we weren't too upset. Not sure about the cost because her cake was included in our catering package.
Cakes by Tanis was the cake vendor offered by WaterColor for our wedding.

ave had at any of the weddings I have been to but Tanis really knows how to make a wedding cake. We did not have any cake left after our reception except for our cake topper.
I highly recommend this vendor for anyone looking to have a beautiful and delicious cake for their wedding or any other function.
Although I wasn't throughly impressed with the way the cake looked, it made up for it with it's delicious taste!!! Best wedding cake I have ever eaten and all of it was consumed!
Tannis was so personable and easy to work with. She had lots of pictures of previous work she had done so it was easy to make decisions and show her exactly what I wanted. Also s...
