About this vendor
As part of the Calamigos Ranch collective, Calamigos Los Angeles sits within 75 secluded acres in beautiful and historic Griffith Park and brings a little country to the big city. When hosting your wedding here, you have a choice of three garden ceremony sites, each with its own reception venue: the The Cottage + Polo Room, the Equestrian Ballroom + Garden and the Grand Prix Room + Grand Prix Garden.
Whether you’re hosting 100 or 400 guests, we are dedicated to creating a memorable occasion for you and your loved ones.
THE COTTAGE + POLO ROOM
The Cottage, a quaint little house nestled on several acres of lush grass, features a tree-lined ceremony garden with a romantic flowing waterfall. With an interior designed for today’s couple, it serves as a spacious dressing room or wedding suite. From here, it is just a short walk to The Polo Room for the reception. With white paneling and natural light, it boasts a grand bar, chandeliers and a wall of French doors opening onto a large cocktail patio.
EQUESTRIAN BALLROOM + GARDEN
The serene Garden provides the ideal ceremony setting and cocktail hour scene for your guests to enjoy after your wedding vows. The garden features a rock waterfall which is beautifully lined with bougainvillea and ivy-covered walls and is shaded by a romantic canopy aglow with bistro lights. Additionally, the Equestrian Ballroom comes with a beautiful wraparound cocktail breezeway lined with ivy and summer ceiling fans. The Equestrian Ballroom is an elegant reception space with a built-in bar, chandeliers, and wall of floor-to-ceiling glass panels doors that open onto the Garden. It creates the perfect balance and flow between indoor and outdoor spaces.
GRAND PRIX ROOM + GARDEN
The Grand PRIX GARDEN provides an intimate ceremony spot and offers a stunning expansive rock waterfall, tropical palms, ivy hedged walls and a mountain view. The adjacent cocktail breezeway leads guests into the Gatsby inspired Grand Prix Room, with three striking prism chandeliers and a hand-carved wooden fireplace.

FYI The Burbank location is no longer taking wedding reservations for 2024. Only the Malibu location is available.

Calamigos saved our wedding. Our first venue was shut down and we were lucky that Calamigos had our date available. The food was amazing and they were able to accommodate the speci...
al diets of our guests. When we had fewer guests accept our invites than we anticipated, Emily worked with us to hit their minimum and made the guest experience even more amazing. We would highly recommend them.
This venue is truly a hidden gem! I have to say, the moment we drove up we knew it was the venue we wanted to say "I Do" at! We got married at The Little White House and in the Pol...
o Room, and we absolutely love the little details and just how much Calamigos upkeeps their property is fantastic. We went to venues that were purely disgusting, and I love that from the grass to the succulents to the waterfall, everything looks fresh, clean, and ready for a wedding! The girls get ready in the White House to put on their dress before first look, where the guys get ready in a room near the Polo Room. The property is absolutely exquisite for pictures and truly will wow your guests.
While a beautiful venue is indeed important for a wedding, what we appreciate most about Calamigos, being a premier LA wedding venue is their excellent customer service. Their team has ALWAYS been there for questions and wisdom, and they helped us through the COVID-19 uncertainties. We were originally supposed to get married June 12, 2021, though in April 2021 we did not even barely have vaccines. So they truly made the process so seamless for us to move the date to a date that worked for us, June 11, 2022! They were very understanding that our family and friends would not feel comfortable at that time coming to our wedding with everything still so fresh and uncertain.
Beyond COVID, for the overall wedding process from start to finish, the service was FANTASTIC. The sales and operations staff is amazing throughout your booking and planning process (Kat and Emily), the day-of bar and wait staff were speedy and provided quality service to our guests. The food was impeccable. We received SO many compliments from our guests about this venue. One thing I will say is the red wine was not great (too sweet), though they were kind enough to let us bring in our own red wine so guests could enjoy, especially since we only did beer and wine. I will also say, it is TOTALLY worth it to upgrade the appetizers to the meat skewers so your guests can have hearty protein before they get their meal (which may take a while because of speeches).
We will always cherish Calamigos LA near and dear to our heart, and would recommend this venue to any bride in a heartbeat!
The venue was really great and accommodating. We liked how the venue came with a ceremony area separate from the reception area. Also, the venue had their own bartenders, alcohol, ...
food, wait staff, and staff to break down and set up the reception/cocktail area. There was also a bridal suite which allowed me and my bridesmaids to put our dresses on before the ceremony. It also gave me some space away from the guests during the reception for some air and time to change into my reception dress.
However, there was a hiccup with the vendor meals, which was stressful for our vendors. Before the wedding, we also received our final invoice and had to scramble to get a cashier's check before our deadline. It worked out that hubby was WFH, but I don't know how other couples are able to get a cashier's check in time. We did ask for an extension, which Calamigos was more than accommodating. It was just stressful to try to reach the bank(s) in time before they closed, but we were able to go on a weekend with the extension provided.
Our guests did rave about the food - both dinner and appetizers. Also, they liked how fast the bartender(s) were in making the drinks for all the guests.
I would recommend this venue for brides and grooms who do not want to seek separate catering, staff, alcohol, ceremony area, and reception area.
We could not have asked for a better wedding day at Calamigos. It was gorgeous, the food was amazing, and Kat, Emily and the staff on the day of the event were extremely friendly a...
nd helpful from start to finish. They made our day feel seamless and we didn't have to lift a finger. They truly want it to be your best day.
On 08/21/2021, I performed for a wedding at Calamigos Los Angeles (I'm a wedding DJ/MC). It was by far one of the most pleasant experiences I've had working with a venue all year. ...
Their staff was friendly, punctual, and well in tune with what the couple had envisioned for their wedding. Austin (the manager that night) was awesome to work with, and based on what I saw, I'd expect the same level of professionalism from the rest of Calamigos' team as well. The venue itself is gorgeous, and it has the perfect layout for a full wedding (separate, but adjacent sites for Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, and Reception). The couple I worked with used one of the outdoor spaces for a traditional Hindu Ceremony in the morning, and they used one of the indoor ballrooms for an American Reception in the evening (they were extremely happy about how their wedding went). I'd gladly work with Calamigos Los Angeles and their staff again, and I highly recommend them to any couple in need of an amazing wedding venue!

Some things to know if you're looking for a venue to book when you're a nervous wreck from realizing you have to plan a wedding!
1) Location: This location is right off of the 134 freeway and super close to Burbank Airport. You're basically making it really easy for guests to come to you. They're free to fly directly in on the day of the wedding, or drive just outside of the insane traffic that is Downtown LA/Hollywood.
2) Flexibility: Calamigos offers 3 different ballrooms+ceremony sites. Each with it's own aesthetic for you to find the room that's right for you. I ended up booking the Equestrian Grand Ballroom because I absolutely adored that open floor plan with lots of windows to fit with my rustic wedding theme
3) PARKING: I absolutely cannot emphasize how important it was that this location had it's own individual parking lots for each of the 3 ballrooms. We didn't cross over at all with the other weddings AND it was right next to the entrance of our ballroom, which means that even your latest arrivals can still manage to park, and walk right up to your wedding without any issues. You'll find a lot of other venues (hotels mostly) are usually difficult for guests to either valet their cars in time, or find a parking spot not 4 floors down with them running in heels to get into your ceremony in time!
4) Convenience: One of the best things about this location is that the individual ball rooms essentially contain 3 things in the exact same place, but separated brilliantly so it allows for transitions through the evening: Ceremony Site, Cocktail Hour Area/Hallway, Reception Banquet Hall. I was able to do my Ceremony into Cocktail Hour into Reception seamlessly with the guests only needing to take 10 steps into the next location. This was the number 1 reason for compliments of the evening.
5) Food: You get to try literally everything they have to offer before making a choice. That means that you get to try all the appetizers, hor dourves, and main courses before making a choice on what everyone gets to eat. And all the food really was delicious! We went with the Prime Rib and Salmon with Miso Ginger for the meat choices, and the Goat Cheese Ravioli for the Vegetarian options. They were delicious!
6) Aesthetics: This place is beautiful. There is a beautiful grassy area with a fountain background for the ceremony site, along with overhead shades in case it's sunny or even lightly raining if necessary. There's beautifully strung lights for when it gets dark which made the area right outside of where my reception is held absolutely beautiful. The whole place screams rustic with it's white horizontally wood lined walls on the outside of the building
7) Friendly: Kathy coordinated with me for my wedding day, and me being me, sometimes a bit unorganized, had a million emails sent to her. Everything from random changes, to trying to figure out "OMG IS THERE A PLACE FOR ME TO TAKE PICTURES BEFORE THE CEREMONY STARTS?" are well documented in my mile long email chain. She was kind and responsive and responded in organized bullet points. I appreciate her accommodating all of my crazy last minute changes too, which up until 2 days before the wedding still had 1!
Wedding planning is stressful. I'm just thankful the venue I chose was stress free.
Had my wedding at Calamigos Equestrian October 2019, and from start to finish, it was an amazing experience! It was the first venue my husband and I looked at, and after the tour w...
e were like "well, that checked off all the boxes!" It felt silly even trying to look at other places. At minimum, we were looking for a place that had good food and had a late curfew (which I feel is rare in the LA area), but Calamigos has it all! First of all, we were able to enjoy our wedding until midnight (but apparently you can negotiate for even later).Personally, I find it to be such a buzz kill to get kicked out of a venue at 10 pm when I feel the party is just getting started, so it was awesome that Calamigos could accommodate that. Second and probably most important, the food was phenomenal! We had 120 guests, and every entree came out cooked perfectly...we received so many compliments. Plus, the food tasting event was such a fun experience! Beyond that, the serving staff the day of was stellar (they have everything down to a science), all our Calamigos contacts were so helpful and organized - shout out to Mike and Kathy, alcohol was included in the package, and the space is simply stunning. My husband and I instantly fell in love with the ivy on the white panel walls and the black cast iron details. Honestly, pictures don't do it justice! We felt like we had the best of both worlds too, having an beautiful outdoor ceremony and then a ballroom reception. Cherry on top, all this came for a very competitive price! We got so many more perks at Calamigos compared to the other venues we researched. Ultimately, they gave me the beautiful, stress free wedding experience I dreamed of...I highly, highly recommend!!!
Also, we booked Steve Rosenbaum as our day of coordinator. He is the preferred coordinator for the venue, and he was absolutely spectacular! I had so many DIY decorations, and was a little apprehensive that it wouldn't be set up the way I wanted, but he was so meticulous and went out of his way to make my vision a reality. Additionally, he was so helpful with helping create the wedding program, and gave us so many good tips that helped the night go so much smoother. Beyond just coordinating stuff, he really ensured that my husband and I enjoyed our special day! For instance, he made sure that we got a sample of the cocktail appetizers when we were busy taking pictures, and kept topping off our champagne glasses throughout the night. He was an absolute dream, I cannot rave about him enough!!
Kathy is amazing at this venue! We did not go forth with a coordinator so my husband and I were doing all the work. Kathy and the rest of the team were very communicative, and answ...
ered every single question we had. Our guests LOVED their food choices and the cake from Portos was beautiful and tasty. The dinner service was super efficient and the night went along without a hitch. The venue works extremely well with vendors, even those that are not on their preferred list. During our planning, my husband and I have noticed that they have been 'revamping' the property (new modern signs, painting, more greenery), which makes Calamigos look even more stunning. BONUS: we got to take pictures at the Little White House as there was not a scheduled event taking place! YAY!
We had our wedding at Calamigos Equestrian a few weeks ago, and it was incredible! This is almost like a one-stop shop venue, with the catering, logistics, cake, linens, etc. all b...
eing provided or coordinated by them. The planning process was super smooth with their friendly and helpful staff (especially Kathy, Mike, and wedding coordinator Steve). We sent a lot of questions along the way, and always got quick and professional replies. The day-of in the Little White House and the Polo Room was just as fantastic. We did not have any major issues, and our guests were wow-ed by the beautiful setting, the ambience, and especially the delicious food! We received many compliments on the venue, and we are so happy that we had our wedding here!
Calamigos is the ultimate wedding venue! SERIOUSLY TAKE THE TIME TO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT! They have a beautiful location in Burbank with three ceremony locations and three receptio...
n locations. My fiancé and I chose the Grand Prix Ballroom because of the charismatic chandeliers decorated throughout the reception ballroom. It looked absolutely beautiful without any wedding touches and knew it was exactly where we wanted to have our family and friends gather. The ceremony site is in the same area as the reception just located in a garden-like Terrace with a beautiful roach wall fountain. Which made it easy for our guest to walk over a path and be at cocktail hour!
The beauty of this place wasn’t the only thing that solidified our decision to have our big day here! The Staff here was AMAZING and very approachable. They knew exactly what they were doing and had a system that worked! Michael was our number one guy who was always there to help us for any part of the way.
The venue itself includes an amazing caterer, the tables, table linens (multiple colors), Napkins(multiple colors), the chairs (white padded beautiful chairs for the ceremony and chivari chairs for the reception), AND last but not least A WEDDING CAKE!! (From Porto’s!) that’s right, you get to choose at their bakery- the design and flavor!
Calamigos Equestrian invites all their confirmed wedding date couples to a food tasting that is a party in itself. Calamigos Equestrian brings out all the stops including with their specialty sweets such as a donut machine and cappuccino bar! It was AWESOME. We left rolling out the door but it was so worth it to taste everything. It made choosing our wedding menu simple.
The food is the best wedding food you will EVER have. My Fiancé and I selected three passed hors d’oeuvres (Coconut shrimp-biggest and best shrimp you will ever see, Caribbean jerk beef skewer- perfectly cooked, and a Brie cheese and pear quesadilla- sweet but perfectly balanced with the Brie cheese). It was cocktail hour and people kept coming up to me and saying how amazing these appetizers were! I knew they were because we had gone to the tasting. For the salad, we choice the garden salad with goat cheese (it was a salad but still pretty good!).
Our main course we chose the Prime Rib and the Salmon with Miso glaze. The Prime Rib was perfectly cooked with some medium to medium rare pieces. It was served with an au ju sauce and horse radish cream. Tasted like we ordered it at a restaurant! Also a HUGE portion! The salmon was also a large portion and the sauce was phenomenal! They had several sauces you could choose to pair with the salmon but we definitely favored the sweet but tangy miso glaze. We chose a brocolini and mushroom risotto for sides (also winners!).
We chose a buttercream white cake with strawberry filling from Porto’s and it was to DIE for. We also couldn’t help ourselves and requested to have the mini donut machine which made the people go absolute crazy! They were like mini beignets but so much better.
Their bar packages are also amazing! We did an open bar all night because that’s where the party comes from! Their bar manager, Michael, was seriously so nice and was there from start to beginning with us. He actually was the one who showed us the property originally!
It truly was made amazing by they special team at Calamigos Equestrian, the stunning location, and delicious food and drinks!

nd the staff took such great care of my husband and I. The food tasting they host for you to choose your menu was so much fun, and a big highlight of the planning process. The staff in the office (especially Kathy) was so responsive and helpful in answering all of my questions. The venue is a real value for all that you get and I would definitely recommend it! The food was great, all of the guests really enjoyed the venue, and it photographs beautifully!

due to this venue. From the booking process to the food tasting to the day of, it all was easy and fun. I highly recommend checking them out if you are looking for something in the Burbank area.
This place is great! You get what you see, so checkout the pics online. if you like that, you'll love the venue!
Calamigos Equestrian was an amazing wedding venue (married March 2017)! My husband and I were blown away by how beautiful our wedding ceremony was in the Equestrian Terrace with al...
l of the flowers and greenery that are part of the venue. The Equestrian Ballroom was the perfect size for our 200+ guests. From planning to the wedding day itself, the staff was professional and such a pleasure to work with.
The food is amazing!!! The tasting event was a fun way to choose what appetizers and entrees to have at the wedding. We also got some other ideas from the event, including a cappuccino bar and chocolate fountain, both of which were a huge success! The catering service and food along with the open bar was incredible and impressed all of our guests.
The vendors that the venue recommended were all fabulous. We loved our cake from Portos, which looked beautiful and tasted delicious. My Wedding Blooms Flowers by Kerim were stunning and blew everyone away! Bruce made the most gorgeous seating arrangement sign that was so much better and creative than I originally envisioned.
We were SO happy with Calamigos and recommend this venue to anyone who wants a beautiful wedding with amazing food and great service! We can’t recommend this venue highly enough!
BEAUTIFUL. So beautiful. And shockingly inexpensive for how high quality everything is. Mike was SO helpful and kind. I highly recommend visiting before you book elsewhere because ...
you will be blown away that you can actually afford something that looks this nice. I was!!

ight ran flawlessly. We had a plated meal with some food allergies, and there wasn't one issue with any of it! Everyone was taken care of wonderfully. Michael, Kathy and David were also great during the planning process. They were available and attentive to our every need leading up to wedding day. You can't go wrong with this venue!
My husband and I had our wedding reception in the Grand Prix ballroom on 4/2/16. The planning process was very good. Calamigos provided checklists of things that needed to be done ...
and it was pretty clear on what I needed to do and what they would do. The operations team was good at answering questions, too. Our main point of contact was David, then Kathy was our in-house coordinator who helped us as we got closer to the date and things were getting more detailed. The food was great and the service excellent. I had several guests comment on the large portions of tasty food and the fabulous service. Everyone felt taken care of - especially us! The banquet captain made sure my husband and I were well-fed and everything was running smoothly and on-schedule. It was a lovely venue with great photo opportunities and they ensured a well put together event. And parking was easy for the guests

We booked our venue 1 1/2 year before in advance. We picked the Equestrian ballroom and equestrian garden for our ceremony. Our guests didn't have to walk more then 20 feet from th...
e ceremony location to the ballroom which made everything easy for all. We used Steve as our in-house cord. and he was the best. He worked closely with all of our vendors and took care of all the scheduling on the day of our wedding. He stayed our entire event and made sure that everything was taken care of. All of our 200 guest raved about the food which was amazing. We had some special requests such as certain drinks and table placements and they met all of our expectations with no fuss.
We had our wedding at Calamigos Equestrian Center in June 2014. The ceremony was at The Little White House and the reception was at The Polo Room. From the beginning, we loved th...
e ambiance of Calamigos. We really wanted a outdoor ceremony and indoor reception, and Calamigos was the prefect place! We loved the beauty and shade of the trees as well as the front law, flowers, and background mountains. The Polo Room has a great feel too-really nice, but also able to be laid back at the same time with a nice outdoor patio for going in and out.
When we were deciding on Calamigos, Michael took the time to meet with us and answer our questions and they even provided appetizers when we met with them. They also have a few photo books so that you can really get a feel for the venue and ideas of how your wedding will look.
The food tasting was awesome, they have one twice a year and you get to taste everything. We ended up going with the salmon and beef tenderloin and veggie pasta and received many compliments on the food and of course Calamigos’ ambiance.
Kat and Abigail helped answer our questions as the wedding was getting closer and made us feel at ease. During the wedding Kat was on top of everything in coordinating everyone in adding to the calm and happy day.
Our wedding turned out beautifully and was just what we wanted! It also was really nice to have the ceremony right across from the reception so that people could just walk over.
The only thing that we did not care for was that we (bride and groom, bridal party, parents) had to move all of our personal belongings, etc. over to the reception from the Little White House right after taking pictures, It ate up time and was awkward and would have been been much easier if we could have left our items there and picked them up at the end of the night or have someone from Calamigos help to bring it over.
Other than that, everything else went beautifully and flowed well and it was just a happy and fun time!
Calamigos was a beautiful venue to get married at. We got married at the Equestrian ballroom...which I think is the best out of the other 2 ballrooms. It has a classier feel, rathe...
r than the other two.
The place is clean and polished. The food was ONE OF THE BEST! Everyone raved about the beef & goat cheese raviola. The prices are a bit high...so please figure out what you really don't need (unlimited or higher class alcohol, appetizers, desserts, etc) and choose this venue! The staff at the wedding was amazing and very helpful.
The only part that we were a bit upset was the no show guest's food (10 ppl). They were thrown away from guests that did not show. Since each plates were already made and pricey, we wanted to take them togo for our late night dinner. They agreed & then they later came back and said it was gone & someone threw it out?!
So please communicate clearly. Other than that...this place is a great & convenient place for guests and the bridal party. The ceremony and reception are all connected.
One complaint was...there was a horse show going on , so during our ceremony a big truck had his engine on in the parking lot, adjacent to our ceremony. I could not hear anything that the pastor was saying or asking me. Next time, Calamigos should block off with cones or signs ...big trucks from being close to the ceremony area during the wedding vows.
The setting was vintage romantic, elegant, and just beautiful. The food was great and I felt that everything was taken care of without me having to worry about it. Our guests gave ...
us so many compliments about it. It was great!

Calamigos Equestrian was an amazing place for have our reception! From the start, we had a good intuitive sense that the staff at Calamigos (Deirdre, Virginia, David, Steve, and ot...
hers) were on our side and ready to work with us on anything! They were so accommodating with our somewhat-limited budget and were incredibly easy to work with. The food was absolutely wonderful - all our guests commented on how delicious the chicken, salmon, and vegan entrees were! I have a peanut/tree nut allergy, and Calamigos went above and beyond to make sure that my food was not contaminated with any nut products. The venue itself was beautiful (we used the Polo Room) and they let us take pre-wedding photos on the grounds beforehand. All our guests were impressed (as we were ourselves) with how the reception room turned out. Gracious and poised does not even begin to describe their professionalism and hospitality! I would enthusiastically recommend anyone to have their wedding (ceremony/reception or just reception like we did) at Calamigos Equestrian. You will not regret it! We could not imagine having our wedding reception anywhere else. Perfect.
The location was so beautiful and the staff was amazing. Everyone was so helpful and readily available throughout the entire wedding planning process. I would recommend this venue ...

to me and complimenting me on what a great time they had, how beautiful it was, how good the food was, and a ton of other things. I highly recommend this place and having Virginia as the wedding coordinator. Wouldn't have happened without her. Just be aware it's pricy to have your wedding there.
I had my reception here in the Polo room. I know I picked the perfect place to have my reception. The food was amazing and the place was beautiful. People kept telling me how mu...
ch they enjoyed the food. Everything was on time, they never ran late. The servers were amazing as well. The front office was awesome. They are always patient and always there to answer your questions or help you in any way they can. I had a candy bar at my wedding and they handled everything. Every type of candy I asked for I received in a beautiful display. I loved every part of it. They do an amazing job. If you want great food, great people, and a beautiful location for you reception (or ceremony they do both!) go with Calamigos at the LA equestrian.

We had our wedding at the Equestrian Terrace and Ballroom. We had approximately 100 guests and our wedding cost over $17,000. We had the Sweet Amore package, with upgraded tray pas...
sed appetizers, additional cash bar hours, cappuccino bar, and dessert trays.
Our initial meeting was with Dierdre, who was lovely, but she disappeared from the process shortly after we signed the contract. Virginia was then our go-to person for any questions. Virginia is very nice, but not prompt on responses.
From our initial meeting, we requested a dual plate. We were notified there was no issue with it and at no extra cost. However, at our FINAL meeting, we were informed there is a $7.50 per guest fee. I did not include a meal card with our invitations because we were under the impression it was at no extra cost and I had to contact all our guests to ask for their meal choice. Also, you have to put a decal or print a symbol on all the place cards so the servers know which meal the guest will be having. The wording on the menu options is extremely misleading and they refused to waive the added cost due to the confusion.
Also at our initial meeting, we requested to have lots of tables spread out so that the room would look fuller with less guests. We were notified it would not be an issue and could use all the tables they have reserved for our room. However, when I gave them the final guest count, they said we could only use 11 tables and any more tables would cost an additional $250.
My family is Greek and at weddings, Greeks break plates on the floor. I notified them in advance and asked if we could bring in cheap plates so that the guests would not break their plates. We even suggested going to a restaurant depot and purchasing the exact plates they carry to replace any broken on the night of the wedding. They notified me it would be a $1500 damage deposit, have to pay $10 per plate broken, and have to put a credit card on file. I notified all my guests they were not allowed to break plates and notified Virginia the deposit and credit card on file would not be necessary. HOWEVER, Virginia persisted and notified us it was now required. There was no wording in the contract that stated there was a $1500 deposit and they still insisted. We refused.
The hours on the packaging is very misleading as well. We had a schedule of how we wanted our wedding, from the ceremony to cocktail hour to the reception to go. That was a major issue as well.
On a positive note, our Party Captain (our go-to person the night of the wedding) was amazing! He checked on us regularly through out the night. He brought us appetizers in the bridal room so we could have a taste. He waited until he saw us sitting down and then brought us our meals so that they would not be cold.
The food was amazing! We had the grilled beef tenderloin, herb roasted chicken, and goat cheese raviola. We upgraded our appetizers and had the beef skewers, stuffed mushroom caps, and bruschetta. The wait staff was great as well-very quick at serving and clean up.
Our bartender was excellent! A very friendly guy and made great drinks! Towards the end of the night, he recognized a few of our guests and had drinks ready for them before they could ask!
We met our cappuccino barista at the menu tasting and he notified us not to pay any more than $600 for two hours. Calamigos said it would cost $750.
Overall, they charge you for every little thing, but our wedding was beautiful and an awesome party!
I highly recommend Calamigos Equestrian. Virginia is a pleasure to work with and made my wedding spectacular. The food was FANTASTIC!!! Everyone loved the food, especially the c...
ocktails (I love the sundried tomato torta). Make sure you know where you can and cannot take pictures before and after the ceremony, because you are limited to certain spaces based upon whether there is another wedding at the venue at the same time. It all works itself out so it isn't a problem, but I recommend making sure you know this information.
This venue was perfect for my wedding. The location is beautiful and the staff made sure that we had everything we needed. Our guests raved about the food also!
I had a beautiful ceremony and a great reception. But...I will post the rest of my thoughts later.
If you're looking for a beautiful outdoor/indoor venue for your wedding then look no further. They have 3 large indoor halls for your reception and 2 outdoor gardens for your cerem...
ony. Your can pick from three packages, which to varying degrees will include food, drinks, lighting, tables, chairs, linens, set-up, clean-up, etc. Plus the planning staff is really easy to work with and will do whatever you need. The event staff is equally awesome and makes sure you and your guests are taken care of. We're still getting compliments from our guests on our wedding!
My husband and I are very happy that we had our big day at Calamigos Equestrian. Although not cheap, the beauty of the venue and the quality of food and service all make the price...
tag worthwhile. Everything--at least to my knowledge and from my perspective--was perfect on our wedding. Little things (like a bottle of champagne, pitchers of iced water and a plate of cheese and fruits in the bridal room) totally made a big difference in our experience.
We had our ceremony in the Little White House and cocktail hour plus reception in the Grand Prix Ballroom. All our guests were impressed with how beautiful the venue is and also how terrific the food was! Since we had an unexpected drop in numbers for attendance, we decided to upgrade the food/drink package for those guests who were able to make it. In the end, everyone kept telling us how delicious the food was and how generous the portions or quantities were. We're so thrilled that our guests had a great time. And we did too; so much so that night felt like it just flew by so fast!
Oh, and the food captain on our wedding was terrific! He, along with the head waiter in the waitstaff were very kind, helpful and attentive. That totally made our night even more enjoyable and fun.
This venue was great!! Everything was so beautiful. Thank you to Virginia, David, Fernando and Steven (manager). The venue manager that night was so helpful. The price was a little...
bit expensive but worth it:) The food was great!! Great venue & ceremony site.
I got married at Calamigos Ranch at the L.A. Equestrian Center in May of 2011. I had 105 guests for a Sunday evening wedding.
I was very pleased with my choice for my wedding loca...
tion, and my guests are STILL talking about my wedding.
The location grounds are beautiful and SO CLEAN--the funny thing is you NEVER smell the horse stables! (that was my first concern when I was considering having my wedding here).
The planning staff is really nice, and helpful.Virginia is wonderful. My only complaint staff-wise would be there was some significant miscommunication between the sales and event planning staff-but it was all sorted out by the time the wedding came around.
One of the greatest parts about this location is that the food is EXCELLENT! Not your typical mediocre "wedding food!"
They only have 2 food tastings a year, so if you plan your wedding between the 2 tastings (I did, not knowing this), you might have to commit to your menu before trying it--that's what happened to me, and I pretty much freaked out...but it was okay.
Your wedding pictures will be beautiful because there are SO MANY great little nooks and greenery spots to take your pictures at.
I really liked how they had a few "sites" on the property to have your ceremony and reception at. I chose the garden with the fountain and the ballroom that it's attached to.
I would definitely recommend this location...and can send you pictures if you're interested!
Just not enough wonderful words to say about Calamigos Ranch. The location, the staff, the quality of service....AMAZING. The women who helped us pick and plan our reception were...
great. We went out multiple times to re-look over the space, and to talk colors etc. Time and time again every request we had was granted and never without a second thought.... LOVE IT!!
Calamigos Ranch in Malibu was the perfect location for our wedding. We love nature and would have loved to have had our wedding in Yosemite but the location would have been a litt...
le hard to get to for the out of town family that came in to celebrate with us. Calamigos was perfect! We got married in front of a waterfall (at the Ranch House). The ducks were out on the water and it made our wedding that much more romantic. All our guests commented on how beautiful this place is. We had made a few appointments when initially looking for a location but cancelled them all after visiting Calamigos. It's just perfect!
I had my wedding on August 6th 2011 at Calamigos Ranch in the Garden Patio/Main Dining Room and it was perfect. The setting was incredible (people were telling us all night that it...
was the best/most beautiful wedding venue they have ever been to). You can't taste the food before hand, which seems scary, but everyone LOVED it. We received tons of compliments on it. We had the buffet food stations and there was so much food. It was unreal. Claudia was our coordinator throughout the process and on the day of. She is incredible. We adored her. And the staff during the reception is great and super attentive. All in all it was the dream wedding. Thanks Calamigos!!! :)
PROS: Everything, except...
CONS: No tastings (but the food is great, so don't worry!)
We just celebrated our wedding at Calamigos in July 2011 and it was truly an event to re...
member! We chose the Oaks as our venue. It's one of the smaller locations, and it was just right for our 85 guests. The entire place was very impressive and photo-friendly... even the path leading up to the ceremony and reception areas. All around the property were fountains, nice landscaping, and trees with hanging twinkle lights. The vineyard and horse sculptures at the entrance were also very picturesque.
The entire staff was a pleasure to work with - the Weddings & Banquets team, the wait staff, the bartenders, the valet, and even the groundskeepers and cleaning crew! They were all very professional and super-helpful. Everyone at the head office kept very good notes. Throughout the planning process, I called often, asked a lot of questions, and even dropped by to take measurements and drop off payments, and they were always very friendly and accommodating every time. I even got to "hugging terms" with a couple of the reps because they saw and spoke to me so often... mainly, Claudia and Cindy, who were absolute dolls!
As many of the other reviewers have already mentioned, they don't offer tastings, but there's nothing to worry about... the food is very good and plentiful! We chose the sit-down dinner option and the portions for the salad and entree were huge! We also added the Passed Hors d'Oeuvres and they were absolutely delicious!!! I would highly recommend adding them, if your budget is permitting. It was worth it for us since many of our guests were foodies, had big appetites, or both.
I also appreciated the fact that almost everything was taken care of by one point of contact. They provide a lot in their packages. The only things that we were responsible for were the officiant, photographer, cake, music, and flowers. Everything else (catering, wait staff, bar service, rentals, valet, etc.) was taken care of by Calamigos. (I couldn't imagine having to book all of those vendors individually!) And since everything is readily available on their property, they can also do things like add extra tables and chairs and things like that at no additional charge... which is nice.
I would definitely recommend Calamigos for your wedding or special event. All of our guests were complimenting us on the venue. It's definitely not the typical hotel or country club, it's much much more.
Overall, we were very happy with Calamigos. We got married in the Equestrian Terrace and had our reception in the Equestrian Ballroom. Both were absolutely beautiful. After our tas...
ting (which is done in a large group), I was worried about the food. However, on the day of the wedding, the food was MUCH better than expected. There were several errors made during our wedding (they ran out of food at cocktail hour), but, once brought to their attention, things were quickly fixed (they brought out additional, more expensive food ASAP). The staff at Calamigos is hit or miss. Some can be rude and extremely uncooperative (such as one of the bartenders at our wedding), but some go above and beyond to help. Our coordinator, Virginia, was amazing! She did everything she could to make sure that our wedding was perfect. I would recommend Calamigos.
This place is excellent. I know when you think "burbank" you don't think "fairytale wedding site", but I can vouch that this is a well-kept secret nestled next to Griffith park, co...
mplete with rolling hills and majestic grand oak trees and three beautiful ballrooms to choose from.
The food is very good, they have a cake contract with PORTOS (the best bakery in LA), and the staff is experienced, kind, professional, and warm. I would recommend working with Dierdre or David, as they both embody the caring, detail-oriented, organized ideal of a wedding planner/helper.
I would also recommend the equestrian ballroom or little white house for your ceremony/reception. I think those are the 2 best rooms available on the property. The little white house also allows you to come in on a horse-drawn carriage (a separate charge from a separate company), but trust me, it's worth it.
All in all, I'm so happy we had our wedding here!
Calamigos Ranch was the first venue I visited, and I couldn't find any other that came remotely close to how picture perfect this location was. All of their four locations are grea...
t and most can be decorated to suit virtually any wedding theme.
We had our event at the Cottage and Pavilion with a buffet style reception. Of the four, this location provides the biggest wow-factor by far. There's a huge tree that the wedding ceremony takes place under and an open tent for the reception. The buffet spread is also a great value for the money, and all of our guests were able to go back for seconds! Calamigos does not allow food tastings before an event, but they have an amazing reputation and the food was excellent. There were no complaints from any guests which is a miracle in and of itself!
The lighting was amazing which made for excellent wedding photos. This venue was definitely worth our money. The reasons I didn't give five stars, though were that I had a little difficulty with the day-of coordinator and the buffet decorations. The day-of coordinator wasn't there for the majority of the set-up time, and she couldn't be found when we had some serious set-up issues. This caused unnecessary stress for my bridal party that day so my advice would be to make things clear at meetings with your day-of coordinator that they will be there at certain times and available to answer questions or concerns for you. The buffet spread was the responsibility of the venue to decorate. They say they have professional florists come in to do the decorations and cannot take your color or theme into consideration. When my bridal party showed up, there were giant vases of rainbow colored sand and fake flower arrangements all along the buffet table. My maid-of-honor ended up shoving the arrangements under the table and no one knew the difference. I felt like the venue had misinformed me as far as these arrangements were concerned, and I feel like this didn't match up to the quality I had expected from such a great venue like this.
The food was very good, but the venue needed more updating. Our on-site wedding planner named Cindy was terrible. She was unpleasant every time we met or spoke with her, to the poi...
nt of being rude. She also did not follow through on our directions for the ceremony and messed up our table chart which caused a lot of stress setting up before the wedding. We were not happy with her service although the venue was beautiful and the food was very good.
Calamigos Ranch was absolutely beautiful! We had the main dining room and we couldnt have picked a better place. We are so happy with everything about it (except for the 18% servic...

This venue is my dream wedding location. Gorgeous green, rolling hills surrounding you. Quaint surroundings....big beautiful trees, gorgeous flowers, sweet lighting, a magnificent,...
magical ferris wheel....so amazing.
A beautiful venue, that feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, yet it is convenient. If you want no muss or fuss of having to build a wedding from the ground up this is the ...
place for you. So much is included and the venue is so beautiful for a reasonable price. Perfect place to get married. It was magical! However, I highly recommend hiring a wedding planner at least for day of if not more so you can just sit back and enjoy the day.
