Calcasieu Private Dining by Chef Donald Link

We were planning our rehearsal dinner and looking to get the most out of our budget. We went back and forth between Calcasieu and a couple other options before deciding that Calcasieu fit the bill. They were easy to communicate throughout the process. Plus, they were owned by the same group as Cochon so we figured the food had to be good. We were right! Our guests loved the food, the location is super convenient (they are located above Cochon in the Warehouse District), the space was nice and we found it to be affordable. We had a sit down dinner and open bar (beer & wine). The only negative thing we have to say is related to the service. There was somewhat of a delay in getting drinks, and there was one waitress who had a bit of an attitude. We and a couple guests experienced it. Last thing you want is a rude server at your rehearsal dinner. Overall, the experience was positive and we'd recommend them: the food was excellent and the ambiance was great.

This is a tough one. This place is for the food!!! The food was absolutely fantastic, that deserves 5 stars. We had such a run around from start to finish. We dealt with 8 different people including 2 different site managers. It seemed like a revolving door of staff. With that happening it was really hard to get stuff done, information was lost, wrong information was provided, rude people, nice people, and so on... The worst part was we don't know what they did with all of the leftover food and wedding cake? They told my wife's mother the cake was all gone, and it definitely wasn't. They either threw it all out or gave it to their staff. And some of their staff participated in our partying and dancing instead of working, very unprofessional. There was a ton of food left from our buffet. They could have made to go boxes for people, and at the least it's tradition to make one for the bride and groom and they never did that! We loved the space and the food, but be weary.. Get everything on paper and in a contract and BE SPECIFIC.

Everything was so delicious! They did a great job with catering our wedding- they were all so sweet and easy to work with. They really helped us with menu selection, and helped us have the best wedding food ever!

The food here is to DIE FOR and the service is absolutely amazing as well. We couldn't have been more pleased with our experience with Calcasieu from start to finish. We had a few attendees with limited mobility, so finding a venue that could accommodate a small party (we only had 17 people), in a private dining space was harder than we had thought! (A lot of NOLA restaurants have private dining on the second floor, and no elevators!). We were so thrilled that we could eat somewhere amazing, and get all our guests there easily! We were a big fan of all of the restaurants in the group, and loved that we could sort of mix and match the food for our group, so they could try a little bit of everything. They were so flexible with the menu side of things, which was so nice. Their team was very communicative in the lead up to the day, and we felt well taken care of the night of the wedding as well. 100% would recommend!!
