Calcasieu Private Dining by Chef Donald Link

We had our rehearsal dinner at Calcasieu in the small wine room and it was perfect. I'd been to a few events their before and the variety of room sizes make them great for just about anything. The service was spot on, the food was phenomenal, and setting everything up beforehand was a breeze. They made it super easy and everyone loved the meal!

Our wedding philosophy was "if the food is amazing & we end up married, it will have been a good night." The folks at Calcasieu took that philosophy and blew it out of the water!! We cannot recommend them highly enough! We started working with Brandy Trepangier about a year out, who was incredibly kind and patient as we flip-flopped on dates & nailing down the contract. Brandy was with us through every step of planning right up until the big day! She was quick to respond to emails, was really organized during our phone planning sessions, and took great care of us every time we stepped into Calcasieu. We ended up choosing to hold both our ceremony and reception at Calcasieu for 45 guests. We held the ceremony in the Tchoupitoulas room which was the perfect size for that number of guests, and then moved into the Higgins Room for our reception. I gave Brandy & the team minimal direction on how I wanted the space set up ("seating for everyone, sweet heart table, candles...") and getting to see the space was spectacular. The space is gorgeous all on its own - we asked the team to set out some lanterns they already had and light candles, and that was all it needed to be warm, intimate, and wonderful. Of course, the food & drink was AMAZING. We elected to serve the cochon de lait & the premium seafood station. There was mac & cheese, sandwich platters, charcuterie, boudin balls (<3) and so many pass arounds. Our guests are still raving about the food! I should also say that the bar was spot on! My husband worked on a signature cocktail (to be served 2 ways because of course) and when I messily gave Brandy the recipe the bar magically made it happen. We mixed this cocktail for our unity ceremony, and everything was set out pre-measured and so pretty - it went off without a hitch. The folks at Calcasieu will take great care of you on your wedding day! We wanted for nothing, and they had things ready before we could even ask. Special shout out to Trish who made sure we got to eat some of the food we'd chosen & kept our drinks filled throughout the night. It was a painless process planning with them - we can't recommend them highly enough!

I don't think I have a single negative thing to say about Calcasieu and their staff, everything about our wedding day was amazing! We held both our ceremony and our reception in Calcasieu Rooms and couldn't be happier about the result. The setup they created worked perfectly and the transition between the ceremony and the reception was seamless. Jt and all the serving staff were amazing! My husband and I wanted a brunch style reception and even through Calcasieu didn't really have any extensive menus developed at that time, they worked with us to create exactly what we wanted. Plus, the food was amazing -- every guest that we saw that next day said it was some of the best wedding food they had ever had!

Calcasieu was amazing to us leading up to and on our wedding day. Everyone we dealt with was so responsive. Our guests had such a great time - there were so many people who loved and commented on the food, the moonshine tasting, the cakes (especially salted caramel) and the amazing service. We didn't have to worry about a thing during the reception. We are very thankful for everything everyone at Calcasieu did to make our wedding day special.
