About this vendor
California Botanic Gardens is a unique outdoor wedding venue located in Claremont, CA. The state's largest botanical garden dedicated to native Californian plants, it boasts 86 acres bursting with beautiful flora. It's the perfect setting for a one-of-a-kind wedding celebration.
California Botanic Gardens offers a range of event spaces to choose from. The California Courtyard offers stunning views of the San Gabriel Mountains, surrounded by mature oak and redwood trees. A majestic bronze sculpture, Silent Sentinel, adds a striking touch, while grasses, sages, and other native plants fill the space with natural beauty. Ideal for both ceremonies and receptions, the California Courtyard can host 250 guests and offers direct access to restrooms and dressing rooms. Also suitable for large events is the Lewis Family Forest Pavilion, which features rock walls and a nature-inspired wood and metal canopy surrounded by towering trees. Its unique lighting design provides a soft glow, while the quiet sound of a fountain adds to the peaceful ambiance. The Forest Pavilion is also adjacent to restrooms and a dressing room. For smaller events of up to 150, you may choose the picturesque California Cultivar Garden or the Outdoor Gallery. If you're hosting a very intimate gathering, there's the Johnson Memorial Oval, which accommodates 60 guests, or the Percy C. Everett Memorial Garden, which holds 50. Whichever setting you choose, you're guaranteed a memorable celebration surrounded by the beauty of nature.

This was a fantastic location for our small wedding. The gardens are a beautiful, peaceful location with a bubbling fountain and lush plants all around. They have a wonderful cate...
rer who provided us exactly the delicious and beautiful wedding brunch we had hoped for - as well as lovely decorated tables for the guests. This venue and caterer made it possible for us to hold a cozy perfect wedding.
Almost every aspect of this venue was perfect, but definitely a few minor issues. First, the preset contract is pretty limited on time - only 1 hour of setup and 4 hours of event....
We had to pay to add extra setup and event time. The venue was very strict about what we could and couldn't do, which was fine except some of the things we were told we could do they tried to walk back and tell us we couldn't only days before the event. Our wedding planner had to show them her meeting minutes from previous walks to get them to agree again. The provided shuttle was also not fully adequate to get one disabled guest to the location, only dropping her at the end of the walkway which required us to rent a wheelchair to get her the rest of the way. We found this out at the rehearsal the night before.
You can only arrive one hour early (or pay for more) to take photos, so we had to take most of our photos elsewhere before arriving prior to the ceremony.
The food was absolutely fantastic, all the guests were very satisfied with the quality and portions.
In the end we would still recommend them, because the location is stunning, food incredible, and the other details mentioned above all have workarounds, but just make sure you ask detailed questions and keep detailed notes, and have a good wedding planner to go to bat for you if needed!
We had an amazing wedding at the California Botanic Garden, and we are so grateful for our caterers at *As You Like It* (AYLI). Rachel, Phyllis and Niquey were professional and wen...
t above and beyond to make our day special. The food was delicious (the grazing table was an immediate hit). They coordinated all the logistics in the garden with the photographer and DJ and beyond. Look no further. Highly recommended!
Couldn't have asked for anything more! Gourmet Gourmet catered our wedding, food was amazing and dessert was delicious! Thank you so so much!
The garden is such a beautiful, magical place. I met my husband at summer camp, and this was the perfect place that matched the feeling of camp with the elegance of a wedding.
We held our reception at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden. It's a beautiful, natural environment full of native plants of California. My fiance and I grew up i the area, but didn...
t knownthis gem existed until we started our wedding planning. Our guests were amazed at hos beautiful the atmosphere was. Wonderful mountain views, lots of green, beautiful trees, And gorgeous flowers! It really was a dream wedding venue! The garden only allows you to work with one caterer, but they were excellent. See my review for Gourmet, Gourmet separately!
I did have a few blips with the staff but overall I would recommend them. The Gardens are beautiful and everything included in the package makes things a lot easier. I planned my w...
edding in 6 months and I dont think I could of done it if they didnt have as much included as they do. I would suggest using a different florist though. Her flowers are very general and bland. I did use a different one and it was worth the extra money by far.
Great people to work with! Love Judy
