We absolutely love all of Caly's photos! She did our engagement photos, wedding photos, and soon we will have her do our maternity photos! She is able to capture landscapes and portraits beautifully. When we shared our photos with family and friends, everyone's first reaction was to remark on the amazing quality of the photos and how they captured the entire wedding experience perfectly!

Caly, Todd, and Kelcey were all amazing! We had the pleasure of meeting Caly last year - she was kind enough to make time to photograph our very small COVID ceremony at our house last year. It meant so much for her to be there for this special day during the pandemic for us to have these beautiful pictures. Todd and Kelcey did a great job at wrangling our very large wedding party and family together for photos this year at our large postponed wedding. Both Caly and Todd took the time to find out what exactly we were looking for through a questionnaire and phone conversation before the wedding, which was super helpful. We got a bunch of “sneak peak” pictures about 2 weeks after the wedding, and we love them all so far! Caly was able to provide a selfie stand photo booth option which was a blast to have at the reception. We have had a great experience, Caly is great about a prompt response and has been super helpful with any questions/concerns we have had. Would definitely recommend for any event that you want to be beautifully photographed!

Caly was the first vendor we chose for our wedding . As soon as we found her, we knew we wanted her to capture our wedding . She stuck with us through three date changes and nearly two years of pandemic wedding planning . She was so kind and helpful throughout the entire chaotic process . Leading up to the wedding , Caly was so thorough with planning and helped me make a very detailed day of schedule as well as a list of portraits we wanted in the church . Day of Caly was perfect ! She managed to keep our very large and at times rowdy wedding party on track throughout portraits . She was extremely easy to work with . She had the best ideas and has an amazing eye for aspects of the venues that would make for beautiful photos. We received some of our sneak peeks already , and they are gorgeous . Her eye for detail , light , and color is unmatched. She went above and beyond for us , and in addition to being an amazing wedding photographer she is such a kind person. I can’t imagine having had anyone else photograph our wedding . Her work truly is timeless and breath taking.

My husband and I are truly terrible at taking photos together and were struggling to find a photographer in the area that would capture the moment vs. overly coordinated shots. The minute we found Calypso Rae Photography's portfolios we knew they were a perfect fit for us. Caly was super helpful and sweet throughout the entire process of booking. Todd was our photographer on the day, and he was incredibly kind and professional. We can't recommend them enough!

Caly did a FANTASTIC job on our wedding photos! She was so easy to photograph with - she gave us all the right prompts. All the photos were edited beautifully. We had a really small and simple wedding and she did a beautiful job capturing the sincerity of it.

Caly was our amazing wedding photographer. She was super easy to communicate with and was so accommodating. We had a terrible family situation that forced us to move our wedding from upstate NY to downtown Boston after we had already booked her. She worked with us so that she could still come and photograph our wedding! During a stressful time she definitely made it easier. On the day of the wedding she was prompt, professional, and friendly. She guided us into poses while letting us be ourselves. She also walked about 3 miles with us before the actual reception so that we could take pictures around our neighborhood in Boston. The pictures came out amazingly! The posed photographs are gorgeous and the candids are so flattering. She really captured the mood of the event. Some of my guests even reached out to comment on how well the photos came out! We recommend Caly wholeheartedly!

Caly is absolutely AMAZING! If you are here reading her reviews, hire her! My husband and I didn’t know of any photographers for our Ithaca wedding when we started looking, so it felt like a daunting task. Caly was so quick with getting back to me (and always has been!) and sent me whole galleries of weddings that she shot, which is a must brides-to-be! I instantly fell in love with her work. She has such an eye for lighting, color, and texture. Her pictures come to life in such a unique way. They are vibrant, real, and truly beautiful…every single one of them. Caly is sweet, kind hearted, professional, and so respectful of the quiet, intimate moments that she photographs. She blended in perfectly and it never felt intrusive to have her in the middle of the action. She could also wrangle (our very rowdy!) bridal party and got all the shots that I asked her to get. She kept us moving efficiently and on time and was always available for questions and ideas! I truly can’t recommend Caly enough! We also used Caly’s second shooter, Todd. They worked so well together and were able to capture multiple angles of shots, which added so much to our galleries! It also allowed much more flexibility in our timeline and we could be more efficient with portraits. Caly and Todd are the sweetest people and captured such special moments in the most beautiful way! Caly, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything!

We can not recommend Caly more highly. She was everything my daughter had hoped for in a wedding photographer. She captured all of the joy and happiness in such a beautiful way. We are going to enjoy the photos for a lifetime.

Caly and her team were such a calming presence and amazing to share our special day with. I was drawn to her style instantly and we loved the way she helped capture our special moments without feeling too staged. She was excellent at capturing our unique venue while ensuring our personailities shown through. We didn’t have bridal parties, but we do have large families and she did a great job at ensuring every guest was in a picture. Seriously, every guest is in at least one photo...and we had 200 of them. We loved her laid back approach to planning, it fit our style and made it way less stressful. She ensured any must have images were taken care of upfront so the rest was just fun and relaxing. She also had a great eye for playing up the surroundings of your space and made sure the candid style of the photos fit the space. Something I never would have thought about. Caly also was so willing to help however she could. She graciously let us use her Tripod to film our ceremony on our own camera which worked out great. Caly and her team will ensure you have the best day of your life and that the best moments of said day are captured for you to refer back to for the rest of your life. A must book!

My husband and I had a very small legal ceremony. Caly arrived 10 minutes early on a Saturday morning, the day after a snow storm. Caly had a sense of areas that would make nice, colorful backgrounds for the images. Caly's experience in this area was crucial, considering we were in downtown Syracuse on a cold, gray, dreary day. Caly was able to send us the digital library of edited photos after a month. Caly was good at directing everyone. Caly was also good at listening to me, the bride, and ignoring my mother (who kept trying to direct everyone) in the most polite way possible.

Caly was absolutely amazing! We do not have enough great words to describe both Caly's passion and expertise. She was extremely punctual and arrived to the site even earlier than us! From the second we met her, my fiancee and I both felt completely at ease. She guided us through several different poses and segments flawlessly. We went to locations ALL OVER campus and Caly was always eager to try new ideas! It was an extremely hot day with a lot of walking and all throughout, Caly was always happy and energetic. She loves what she does and it clearly shows in all her work and pictures. Our photographs turned out absolutely beautifully! I am not exaggerating when I say that I stare at them everyday. We have already received hundreds of compliments! People are always saying how lucky we are to have found Caly, and I could not agree more :) She is one of the best photographers I have met and we could not be happier!

My husband and I were nervous about picking a photographer, since we were planning from a different city and wouldn't be able to meet them in person. We were so fortunate to have found Caly who made us feel comfortable and captured our day perfectly. Before the wedding, she met with me in person when I was in town for a weekend to answer all my questions and so we weren't meeting for the first time the day of. She also had a helpful questionnaire that we filled out beforehand to make sure we got all the shots that we wanted. The day of, Caly was super flexible and patient when things got busy and people were distracted. She was able to interpret my vague ideas for portraits and they all came out wonderfully. We had so much fun shooting the portraits! She was also in the middle of the action during the reception--I was surprised and happy that she got so many great dancing photos without me really noticing she was there! After the wedding, we got some sneak peaks on instagram which made the wait easier. She also got our photos to us on the earlier end of the time frame she gave us, even though I could tell from her instagram she was really busy with other weddings. I really can't say enough positive things about working with Caly, and recommend her wholeheartedly.

I cannot tell you how happy we are that we chose Caly, but I will try! While we were drawn to working with Caly because of the beauty and vibrancy of her photos, she is just the kindest person that we could have worked with on our wedding! Caly does such a great job of making the bride and groom feel so comfortable. Walking off to do photos with her after the ceremony felt like this beautiful moment of tranquility for my husband and I to take it all in. During the reception and the ceremony, she is very discreet during the wedding, so that our guests felt very comfortable. Caly is really flexible too! Our great plan went out the window when hair and make-up took longer than expected. Caly came up to me and quietly reassured me everything would work out. I am so happy to have worked with her on my wedding day! My husband and I decided to do an engagement session with Caly. I was on the fence about it, but I highly recommend it! It was a really nice opportunity to meet with Caly and feel more comfortable posing for photos. We love the photos from our engagement session! She does a beautiful job capturing real emotion and our relationship. I cannot say enough good things about working with Caly, she was the best wedding photographer we could have asked for! We love our wedding photos! Her portraits are stunning -- she gently retouches photos to just make it look like us on our very best day. I can't begin to describe how amazing Caly is. She photographed our engagement photos last August and our wedding this past October. She is incredibly creative and her photos blew us away! She even showed up an hour early to scope out our venue and the surrounding areas so she could plan her photos. She was quick in getting our photos back to us in a little under 4 weeks time! The photos we received were more beautiful than we could've imagined. I am so happy I found Caly to capture our special day! She is AMAZING.

Amazing photos! So thrilled with everything!

Caly was our wedding photographer last year (posting this review a bit late, woops!). She was absolutely fantastic to work with, and we are so happy with how our wedding photos turned out. We met once ahead of time to ensure that it would be a good fit, and described some of the shots we had been thinking about and the family shots we wanted, and then took her to the ceremony and reception venues so that she could get a feel for them. From there we simply filled out a questionnaire, and she sent us a timeline, brought along an assistant, and was fully prepared to come in and take charge of what we wanted on the day of. We had our family photos, ceremony, and bridal shots in Stewart Park in Ithaca, and she chose beautiful spots to set these and kept the process flowing smoothly and naturally despite relatively large families and the public nature of the park. We were amazed at the number of shots she took of the entire process, from the beginning of us getting ready through large crowds dancing at the reception. She and her assistant really got into the energy of the guests, maintained a great sense of humor, and watched for shots that fit our personalities throughout the day. Caly’s prices were reasonable, and her personal touch and the beautiful, incredibly high-quality photos of a once-in-a-lifetime event like our wedding were well worth the cost.

We couldn't have been happier with our wedding pictures!! Caly was very sweet and professional throughout the whole process. And the pictures came out amazing!!! She really does very beautiful work. Highly recommend!

I can't say enough good things about Caly and her team! She was a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process and was extremely professional and flexible. I did not want to get engagement photos and Caly was super flexible and agreed to substitute a few hours at the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner instead of the engagement session - which was amazing! She and her team were nothing short of perfection on the wedding day. She flew through our list of formal photos in record time and did a great job directing the many family members and children. She was extremely professional and calm on the day of as well, which I very much appreciated. The wedding day can be stressful and lots of moving pieces, and at every step, she was calmly directing everyone where they needed to be without any stress. She was a total professional and extremely talented. While we haven't yet seen all of our photos, the ones we have seen have been awesome!!! Also I should note her turn around time on the pictures is great and very quick - many vendors were extremely long and she anticipated only a few weeks! You can't go wrong with Caly, I'm so fortunate that she was able to capture our wedding weekend!!!

Even though she was the first photographer that we met with, we booked Caly on the spot. We were incredibly impressed with not only her portfolio, but also her responsiveness and willingness to work with our vision for the day. For our engagement shoot, Caly was willing to go with us to two different locations. We loved the variety and flexibility that she offered. We were so happy with our engagement shoot that as part of our wedding gift, my parents gave us a gift certificate to work with Caly again after the wedding. On the wedding day, Caly did a fantastic job capturing all of our important moments. She had requested a list of all the formal portraits that we wanted and she got every single one (plus some that we decided on spur of the moment). At the ceremony and at the reception, we barely noticed her there, but the 1500 pictures she took for us prove that she was! We've started the process of picking pictures for our album but there are so many amazing shots that we still need a little more time to narrow them down. We purchased the rights to all our pictures so even the ones that don't make the cut won't be lost!

My fiancé and I wanted to do some engagement pictures at Cornell (where we met) while we were in northern PA for the holidays. I found Caly through The Knot, and from the very first e-mail she was responsive and pleasant. We spent two hours shooting around Cornell's campus. It was easy to feel comfortable with her, and she and her assistant were fun to chat with as we walked between locations. She gave good direction, but it didn't feel like we were being overly posed. We just got the digital files back, and we're thrilled. She caught some great natural moments between us, and it is now evident how good her eye for backgrounds is. Many of the pictures have creative use of scale and awesome use of color. While there was no snow on the ground during the shoot, it started snowing pretty heavily during it. She was able to capture the falling snow beautifully.

Caly was a dream to work with. She was easy to talk to, professional, and both listened well and brought her own ideas to the table. She captured so perfectly the joy of our special day, and understood the mood and 'personality' of the setting as well as the people. We wanted photos that reflected who we are, not copies of what everyone else is doing, and we couldn't be happier with the results. She provided direction so gently that even this camera-shy girl felt completely comfortable throughout the entire process. Everyone has complimented us on the photos, including friends who spent a lot more on their wedding photographers. Caly is brilliant. She is an artist and a professional, and I 100% recommend her!

Highly Recommend! Caly is an absolute pleasure to work with. She is professional, organized and an amazing photographer. She captured all of the special moments of our wedding day and night without being intrusive. Caly and her second shooter Shawna, worked hard to get as many candid photos of the night. They started early in the day (noon) and worked to the last song of the night (1130) far beyond the contract requirements! The photos are so creative and show every single moment in a way that I would have never thought to frame. We regret not getting a videographer, however Caly’s pictures help put the entire story of the day together.

Caly was an absolutely awesome photographer, who captured us and all our quirkiness, in all it's splendor. We had a very non-traditional exchange of vows, that took place in a photo lighting studio - where we met. As wedding photographers ourselves, we had a particular vision for our wedding photos, and Caly achieved those visions spot on. Thank you, Caly, for being such a good sport, and providing us with such wonderful visual memories!

Caly from Calypso Rae Photography was so great! She did our engagement pictures and also our wedding. We haven't seen all of our wedding pictures yet but she has put a few up online as a sneak peak and so far, we love them! The only regret that i have is that she didn't take as many "fun" pictures with the bridal party as i had hoped. But for the price that she asks for, she is really great!

I was on a budget for my photographer, but i didnt want any of my moments to be missed. Caly showed up right on time at 11am and stayed the whole night (10pm) she did a great job at not being intrusive and taking interesting pictures throughout the night. she was great to refer to with all the wedding ediquette. she gave great advice. My favorite vendor of the night.

Caly was a great photographer. We weren't looking to spend a ton of money on a photographer but wanted to make sure we had some quality photos from our wedding. Caly has a relatively new business but has an awesome portfolio already and we are super happy with the results so far (we just got our first peek at all our wedding photos since our wedding was pretty recently). She was on-time, flexible, and worked hard to get a ton of great photos- she made sure to capture all the little details, as well as all the big moments, and get so many great candid shots of our friends and family.
