Hiring Candace Sims Photography was one of the best decisions we made for our July 2022 Chicago Wedding. From our very first video call with Candace, she made us feel comfortable and relaxed. Candace embodies professionalism and approachability, and overall made the decision to choose a photographer a simple one. Our package included an engagement shoot, which was very helpful. It gave us space to get to know Candace better pre-wedding and made us feel more at ease with taking so many photos. Even the poses that felt awkward during the shoot turned out stunning in the photos. When Candace arrived on the wedding day it was like greeting a best friend. She was so energized, excited, and complimentary - which also showed when she was behind the lens. She was constantly hyping us and the wedding party up in the most genuine way. We also had to do some pivoting with our locations for wedding day photos, and Candace made it all work without stress or issue. She showed her creativity and eye for the right scenery and light in real time as we walked down Michigan avenue. Candace’s communication was always clear and prompt. She gave us a sneak peak of photos right away (including with beautiful reels/videos too) and set expectations clearly on timing for the full gallery. We LOVE all of our photos, and will cherish them forever. They perfectly capture our joy, love, and all of our loved ones from our big day. Truly, Candace is an INCREDIBLE photographer and so easy to work with. She was our favorite vendor throughout the entire process. She was recommended to us by friends and we're so, so glad that we decided to work with her. Our engagement photos and the wedding day photos we've seen are next level. I cannot say enough good things about Candace. From the beginning of our engagement session, I knew we had found the right person to photograph our wedding. My fiance and I are both not very comfortable in front of the camera and were super nervous about the session. She immediately made us feel so relaxed and the photos turned out amazing! Then came our wedding. WOW. Candace and her partner Luis were absolutely spectacular. They honestly felt like part of the family by the end of the night and all of my guests were asking for their contact info to book them for their next event. Candace and her second shooter Luis were amazing. Candace went above and beyond for us. Her photos turned out spectacular. She was easy going and got all the photos that we wanted. She even delivered our entire wedding album a month after the wedding. She was spectacular.

I could not have asked for a better person to work with for our wedding day. Candace literally was the best photographer I could imagine for our wedding. She was recommended by a friend to us and starting from the engagement photos to the day of the wedding she was always bubbly, easy going and positive about everything. She made us feel so natural and like models who knew what we were doing when we didn’t. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and she had all to do with it! Her precise timeline was so helpful and yet she went with the flow even when we ran 30 minutes late. She makes everyone feel comfortable and catches every good angle. Our wedding day would not be what it is without Candace’s beautiful work behind the camera. 10/10 she should be doing everyone’s wedding.

Candace is not only a fantastic photographer, but by the time your wedding rolls around she will genuinely be your friend. She stays in contact throughout the entire wedding planning process and makes an effort to get to know you as a couple. She is as sweet as can be and had great energy throughout our entire wedding day. Out of all of our vendors, I was the MOST picky about photography and Candace checked all of my boxes, and then some! She did an amazing job and I already can't wait to see all of the photos from our wedding day.

Unable to book with Candace due to hard photography budget, however, she gladly referred me (with quick links) to a few photographers in my area within my stated budget. I would recommend her from her resourceful and kind gesture alone.

My husband and I had the best experience with Candace as our photographer! We were initially hesitant to do an engagement session because we had already done one prior to choosing her as our wedding photographer. Since it came included in the fees, we decided to plan one with Candace. We were so happy with this session! This set of photos really captured our relationship and the we got to know Candace/she got to know us! We were not disappointed when it came to our big day. Candace is so easy to work with, and with our bridal party being large, she helped keep us on track. Absolutely love working with Candace! From the first step, you can really tell that Candace is giving her all to you to make sure that these lasting photos of your special moments will be perfect. She makes you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera so much so that after the shoot you're left itching to see how the photos will turn out! Candace was the best photographer we could have asked for. I’m very lucky and happy I found her! She made the engagement session comfortable and fun. The pictures were beautiful too. Then our wedding day was magical and captured perfectly by Candace and her partner for the day, Alisha. I recommend Candace to everyone and all my bridesmaids loved her too! We met with a couple of photographers before deciding to go with Candace. Right away we had a different feeling and the decision to hire her was so easy to make. She is so friendly and personable. Throughout the entire process she was professional and thorough. I found her packages to be very competitive. We a lot for our money!!! The first time we worked with her was for our engagement shoot. Candace is SO fun to shoot with. She made us feel for comfortable and didn’t rush us at all. We got our photos back really quickly and there were a lot of them! Leading up to the wedding, Candace kept in communication and made sure we were prepared with a detailed timeline. Her and her second shooter did a great job capturing so much of our day. We got even more pictures than I thought we would and I have so many favorites! I would recommend Candace to anyone for their special day.

Candace is one of the most down-to-earth/ball of positive energy all rolled into one person, you’ll ever meet! We found Candace back in spring 2017 and I knew after our first conversation she is who I wanted to photograph our wedding... and let me say I was super picky because photography was the vendor I was most excited about!! She shot our engagement last summer and I immediately felt like we were true friends that I’ve known for a long time... she just gives off that vibe. The vision she had for those engagement photos literally brought tears to my eyes once I saw them. Since we booked her a year out from our wedding, I’d heard you don’t hear from a lot of vendors until closer to the wedding, but with Candace, that isn’t the case at all. She is so passionate about what she does that she truly takes the time to get to know the couples. She and I would talk on Instagram on a weekly basis! I loved it!!!! Fast forward to wedding day... best day of my life with a lot of that due to her! She helped to create a perfect wedding day timeline that I shared with my wedding party which really helped to keep things on track. She was sweet, hilarious, and made EVERYONE feel so comfortable in front of the camera! She got all the shots I really hoped for and then some!! She really is amazing. At the end of the night, she felt like part of our family... and our whole family said the same thing! Can’t tell you how many people complimented her and how many of my engaged friends wanted her info by the end of the night! She received many referrals just based off our wedding because of how incredible she is. Can’t say enough good things about Candace! We love you!!!!

Candace is an absolute gem. I honestly couldn't have been happier with her work or her attitude. Not only did she do a phenomenal job capturing our wedding day but her and her partner Luis, shout out to (Luis Malagon Films) were the most patient and understanding people to work with. I had many religious and personal preferences that Candace and Luis were so understating about I could have never have expected such care and respect. There were so many things that didn't go accordingly on our day but they didn't let any of that be an excuse to affect the quality of their work. Lastly Candace thank you so much for having the most upbeat attitude and just being a ball of joy. I'm a pretty shy person and my husband isn't a big fan of cameras either but she literally made us feel so comfortable throughout the entire process. I would pick her to capture any other important event in my life in a heartbeat!

My husband and I knew that Candace was the one for us from the first phone call. She wanted to know our love story, our background, everything about us! One of Candace's first question to us was "What do you envision?" We told her what we wanted and she brought our vision to life through her lens! Candace and her husband have been amazing to work with. We hired them for one of our pre-wedding events, and after looking at their work, I wish we would've hired them for all of our main events, except we had already prepaid. Their work is honestly amazing, and they both are easy to work with. Not only they have a good vision, but great direction. We hired them for both photography and videography, and both of them were edited well. I would absolutely recommend them for your big day.

Candace and Jose of night owls cinema are an incredibly talented duo. they did an engagement photo shoot and engagement trailer for us. Working with them was a fun experience, they both do an incredible job in making you feel at ease. My husband and I are very awkward in front of camera, but we felt so comfortable with Jose and Candace. They were able to capture our true personalities in their pictures and video. Photos were delivered in less than a week. They are very professional and also affordable. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Highly recommended
