Canvas Salon and Skin Bar

The girls at Canvas Salon were amazing and so friendly! I (and my girls and mom) loved the hair and makeup we all had done for my wedding day! They were able to do complete hair and makeup for four people well ahead of time and even came to the venue! I absolutely loved my hair and they were more than happy to give me a second makeup trial when I wasn't 100% sure about my first one. They listened to all of our concerns and wants and did amazing work. All of our different hair styles lasted all night, including curls! I would definitely recommend their services to a bride and her party that want to have fun and have amazing results!

While the girls at Canvas are sweet, unfortunately the most fitting word to describe my Canvas experience would be inconsistent. Given their prices & the services we received, I would recommend couples choose elsewhere for their wedding hair. I originally booked Canvas to provide onsite hair services for me, my mom, and my bridesmaids. After our trials, my mom & I ultimately ended up each choosing someone else to do our hair, because we couldn't trust that Canvas could give us the results we'd want on the big day. I didn't love my first trial and when I came back for a second, I tried to be really specific, and to explain that I needed only bobby pins (no hair pins) because the previous trial had fallen out quickly. The end style still wasn't what I had in mind, and it started falling out as I was walking to my car in the parking lot. When I took the style out later that evening, it was half hair pins, half bobby pins, despite my pleas to only use bobby pins. I was tired of stressing about my hair, so I ended up asking a friend of a friend do my hair, and was so glad I did. My mom did a trial at Canvas with a stylist who was NOT scheduled for our wedding day, thinking that person could relay what she wanted to the day-of stylist. My mom received the saddest, messiest updo I've ever seen, with hair haphazardly thrown/pinned everywhere, like she'd slept on it...truly a mess, to say the least. Canvas was apologetic when I reached out about my mom's trial, and admitted they'd made a mistake booking someone who didn't have enough experience, but I was really disappointed that they'd 1) allowed my mom to leave with such a terrible updo and 2) didn't automatically offer to refund her when I complained. They issued a refund after I asked, but they should have offered it from the beginning. My mom ended up traveling to another salon on the wedding day for her updo, and was glad she did. Given that we'd already paid a deposit, we still had 3 stylists come and do hair for the bridesmaids & my husband's mom. 2/3 stylists did a good job, but the third did not - her work looked messy/unfinished, and I had to go down to the room to provide more instructions on two of the bridesmaids' hairstyles (one of which had to be totally redone) - not an ideal task on an already stressful day! I also requested that bridesmaids' ears not be sticking out, and one of my bridesmaids said that after I left the room, a stylist made a snarky remark about how she didn't understand why I was so fixated on the ears. This didn't seem like a crazy request to me, as no one wants to look like an elf in pictures, and even if it were some especially unique request, a bride has the right to speak up for what she wants on her special day without feeling like vendors are put-off by the request. I will say that my mom & I have thick & heavy hair, so perhaps this contributed to some of the trial challenges, but professionals should be able to handle whatever hair type they're given. If I could go back and do my wedding over again, I would choose a different provider for bridesmaids' hair.

I went to Canvas for my wedding day hair and makeup. My mom, mother-in-law, and bridesmaids were all with me, and Canvas got hair and makeup done for eight people in under four hours! We even got done ahead of schedule. Everyone looked absolutely stunning, and we all got compliments on our hair and makeup all night. Megan (I think she is the manager) was super easy to work with and accommodating. Rachel did my hair. She really listened to what I wanted and was so careful and precise when she was doing my hair. It looked beautiful and everyone loved it! Katie did my makeup. I trusted her from the moment I met her, and she did a truly amazing job. I felt so beautiful and my airbrush makeup stayed on all night flawlessly. I can't thank you guys enough!!!

Maddie was amazing, as she did my bridal hair, and I recieved compliment after compliment all night. My hair was absolutely perfect, and Maddie couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Canvas Salon was priced well, they have excellent timelines (we got done early, which was amazing as I'm always running behind) and the talent for hair cannot be matched. I couldn't be happier with my experience!
