Caprice Strings is a boutique special event music ensemble, locally owned by violinist and San Diego native, Victoria Bietz. We have decades of knowledge and professional experience with local venues, planners, and coordinators across the county. Caprice Strings has been playing across San Diego and Southern California for over 40 years, and we are true experts on special events and strings. Our musicians come from many diverse backgrounds, but we are all Conservatory and University trained with Bachelor, Masters, and Doctoral Music Performance degrees. Caprice Strings is committed to paying our talented instrumentalists rates that beat San Diego Musicians Association Local 325 Professional Union rates. Because we pay our musicians a competitive and professional rate, we are therefore able to book the most talented and professional musicians in town to play our events. We are professional and highly trained classical musicians who play across San Diego and Orange County. Our musical styles range from traditional classical, popular standards, to songs currently on the radio. In one weekend, Caprice Strings can be found playing on the lawn at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, the chapel at Fairmont Grand Del Mar, and the courtyard at The Prado. We have performed at virtually every major hotel in the San Diego area. This perfect combination allows the melody of the violin to soar above, viola fills in the harmony, and the deep bass lines of the cello centers the group. QUARTET: The string quartet has long been considered the most perfect and prestigious string ensemble due to the balanced combination of the four instruments. The melody is not exclusively contained in the main violin line, and allows for a sophisticated interplay of four distinct voices. Bridgerton String Quartets work best as a string quartet because the intricate voicing passes the melody and rhythm equally across all four voices.
