luded in our package, which made planning a breeze. On our wedding day, the ceremony space reception areas were beautiful, and the food and drink were excellent and with lots of variety. Their event manager, Katie, was a dream to work with throughout the entire process, always responding to our emails and questions promptly and managing any issue efficiently. She provided us with a list of recommended vendors, such as the DJ we ended up booking, which was also very helpful. The service staff on the day of our wedding were also attentive, gracious and fun to spend the day with. Many of our guests said that it was one of the most fun weddings they had ever been to, and we agree!

Katie is one of the most communicative and organized people I have ever worked with, and made our wedding day so special from start to finish. The food is amazing (several of our guests were raving about the corn bread and BBQ the next day). The venue family friendly, we had several kids ranging from 2 months to 4 years old in attendance.
We could not have chosen a more perfect venue, and definitely encourage anyone looking for laid back atmosphere with great food and drinks to host their wedding at Captain Lawrence. Our goal was to have as much fun as possible, and thanks to the staff's organization, that was definitely achieved.
I also should note that they venue's proximity to NYC was a huge plus for us, as we live in Manhattan and had many people just coming up for the day. We'll definitely be back for dinner and drinks in the future!

The staff were always so nice when we came to meet with Katie, the events coordinator, who made the entire process seamless. The fact that the ceremony went completely smoothly without a hitch when we didn't go over it until that day speaks for itself about how professional they are. The food and, of course, drinks, were beyond amazing! Captain Lawrence gave us the perfect wedding day! We couldn't recommend them more highly! We can't wait to celebrate our first anniversary and many more there!

They let us bring their cornhole and giant Jenga games into the side barrel room, which was a perfect option for those who didn't want to dance but also didn't want to just sit there. They work with a decorator in Pleasantville who brings in drapes and lighting that make it look really amazing, and the one thing I wished we'd done differently was get his pricing earlier in the process -- the total cost ended up being totally reasonable, but it would have been nice to have that bigger financial picture earlier on. But that was just our procrastinating, not a reflection on the venue. We really appreciated that the manager was willing to work with us on all the (sometimes rapidly evolving) ideas we had, and the best thing about this venue is you can really make it your own. We knew we wanted a big party, but we weren't interested in checking off all the typical wedding boxes, and this venue doesn't make you feel like you're doing it wrong if you do it your own way. I would definitely recommend it for people looking for a unique, laid-back venue.

e event manager, Aaron, was so flexible and available - it took him about an hour to get back to us with every email. In fact, we emailed him about looking at the venue on a Thursday and he accommodated us by letting us view it that Friday. Every vendor he put us in contact with was professional and did an incredible job. Captain Lawrence and Aaron were so wonderful and we could not have imagined a more perfect place for our reception. The huge tasting room was available for our guests during cocktail hour and throughout the reception with a decorated bar and barrels for guests to sit at. The actual brewery looked incredible and was decorated by Y Design Events who Captain Lawrence works with exclusively (and we get why - our guests were amazed at the transformation from brewery to wedding reception). We have gotten so many compliments on the brewery since the wedding! We highly recommend Captain Lawrence as an amazing wedding reception location (you can also do the ceremony on site) and as a brewery!
