Hey, I’m Alyssa! My job is to capture the intimacy and beauty of love in all its forms, which basically means it's the coolest job. Telling real stories in beautiful ways is my jam! That is how I became a wedding and portrait photographer. I also happen to be a lover of both dogs and baked goods and I love to see the world.

in Washington, DC, and our engagement! Alyssa’s style of just enough direction to make sure the photos look good but otherwise capturing us how we are and how we naturally interact is perfect. On the wedding day, she expertly supported family photos with folks with mobility issues in ways that were easy for them to navigate but still resulted in seamless photos. Alyssa’s photos are really the perfect mix of the small moments that made our wedding day so special. Her superpower is capturing the essence of you as a couple and making it look so good! She made us feel at ease and having fun throughout the entire process and is SO patient and helpful in getting you to look your absolute best while seeming completely natural in your environment! s and appetizers in the city, and it immediately felt like we were friends. She’s so easy to get along with and really seemed to understand my husband and I as a couple. When it came time to plan our engagement shoot, Alyssa was on-board to brave the cold in November and help us recreate our first date - a picnic in the park. Alyssa was so great about including our two dogs in the photos as well. Her turn-around time for the engagement photos was less than what was promised in the contract, and we couldn’t wait to see her again for our wedding! Once COVID happened, we were unsure of what was going to happen with our wedding. Alyssa was not only flexible with our lack of new plan, but she was there to listen to us vent about our concerns with everything happening in the world. Ultimately, we decided to have a small backyard, immediate family only ceremony and push our big celebration with extended family and friends to 2021. Unfortunately, Alyssa is unavailable for our new 2021 date (her new couple is EXTREMELY lucky to have her!), but she was willing to make the trek out to my parents’ home in New Jersey for our elopement/micro-wedding. Alyssa arrived prepared with her mask and followed all social-distancing protocols. She made us feel safe, but we also felt like we were getting the exact same Alyssa from our engagement shoot. When my mom asked if she could receive a family photo prior to receiving the full file of photos, Alyssa didn’t hesitate to share an additional photo with her. Alyssa delivered our final pictures in well under the 6-8 weeks as stated in our contract, and there are too many amazing ones to choose from for an album! We’re so incredibly thankful that we found Alyssa!

She respected our decision to not do an engagement shoot, was flexible with pricing, and even met my fiancé and I for a drink a few months before the wedding so we could meet in person prior to the big day. Alyssa was so easy to communicate with during planning and on our wedding day she managed to check off everything on our shot list all while being professional, friendly and a calming presence.

garden at our venue. We also wanted to find someone who didn’t overly focus on staged photos, but who would capture more natural moments. We also needed someone who truly made us feel comfortable because neither of us are very comfortable in front of a camera.

Alyssa manages to capture the candid moments and makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera. The photos are real and beautiful. We were able to get all of our bride and groom, bridal party, and family photos done before the ceremony and had plenty of time to enjoy our cocktail hour and reception with SO many candid pictures to enjoy. Other than her work, Alyssa is just a joy to work with and really makes you feel comfortable in all situations. She takes lead (which can be hard when getting together a big family for a picture) but also gives you space to act yourselves. She also did great with our big fur baby during our engagement photos! We would absolutely recommend Alyssa to anybody looking for a photographer!

She's open to suggestions and wanting to know what you may be interested in, as well as suggesting her own ideas. She also was very communicative, prompt, and understanding throughout the whole process. Everything about working with Alyssa on our wedding day was perfect and I'm honestly still in disbelief at our wedding photos. The chemistry that she is able to capture in special moments paired with her soft romantic style is truly very special.

I have borne unfortunate witness to some horribly intrusive photographers breaking up organic family laughs, tears, or even the bride and groom's first dance. You'll see Alyssa capturing every detail from the sidelines without ever noticing a lens in your face making you feel distracted from the importance of your day.
2. Something I didn't anticipate going in (you only get married once) is how much time you spend with your photographer on your wedding day. From location to location, interacting with your family members, and shining a light onto some of the most intimate 'first' moments with your new spouse. For this reason - Alyssa stands out head and shoulders above the crowd of NYC photographers. She is effortless to converse with, amenable to any situation, and a FUN addition to your crew of family and friends.
