My husband and I toured many venues a year ago. Each one, we found something that didn’t speak to us and our love for the great outdoors. When we met with Suzanne a year ago, we felt an instant connection at how welcoming she was with her contagious smile, showing us all the venue had to offer us. She explained plans she and her husband had as well. There are many attributes that caught our attention- the two acre pond sold me-I love fishing and the energy that water gives off. Kris also loves fishing. It’s another love we share together. During hunting season, he spends a lot of time in the woods-his church. We are very outdoorsy people and we couldn’t pass up this hidden gem. The cabins were another cute addition that we loved. We like to take camping trips also. We loved that it’s secluded from housing and quietly tucked away in a more intimate and private setting. My bridal party and I got ready in the bridal suite and it was an amazing bonding time together. Thanks for taking care of me and my ladies, Suzanne! I loved how the arbor was decorated and the benches were set perfectly for all to witness our love for one another, as we said- I do. The bon fire at the end of our day was just perfect. Jay was also a huge help asking me and my bridal party if we needed anything multiple times a day. He was so sweet and kind and helpful! Thanks for everything, Jay! We hope you enjoyed yourself as much as all of our family and friends did! We had 135 guests and everything was just an absolute dream. The light rain didn’t hold back any smiles. It was Gods way of washing our worries away, as I like to say-a strengthening of our bond, like a sailors knot when it gets wet, it becomes stronger and impossible to pull apart or undo. I couldn’t give Carawood enough five star reviews, we truly are elated and extremely grateful for finding this hidden gem in the country. Thank you from the bottom of hearts for everything and always answering any and all questions I’ve had leading up to our wedding on 9/12/26.

Suzanne is absolutely amazing. Me and my fiancé had a lot going on with planning our wedding and she was incredibly patient with our date changes, revisions, and cancellation. We ultimately decided to elope in September and not have a more traditional ceremony and venue. While our wedding will no longer be at this wonderful venue, I couldn't recommend it more. Suzanne obviously cares more about you and your spouse getting the wedding you want above anything else. We're so appreciative to her for being so understanding and responsive to our questions, changes and chaos. You won't regret working with this wonderful woman to create your dream wedding. So many thanks to her, her professionalism, and kindness.

Carawood Lake is a family-owned 30-acre private nature park and wedding venue in northeast Ohio, just outside of Oberlin. Carawood Lake is great for indoor/outdoor events, featuring a fully climate-controlled lodge (rustic with lots of reclaimed wood, a stone fireplace, and iron fixtures), a covered patio, a large lakeside lawn, and an outdoor wood-burning fire pit.
At the heart of the property is a two-acre lake, surrounded by acres of trees and meadows for photos, ceremonies, and overnight camping. (That's right - you and your party can have the full grounds ALL TO YOURSELF, with campfires burning as long as you'd like!)
All reservations include indoor tables and chairs for up to 125 guests, and our classic wedding package comes with tablecloths, chair covers, indoor string lights and ceiling drapes, free use of centerpiece items in our Something Borrowed Closet, professional-grade AV equipment, and outdoor ceremony seats. Plus, anything that is ours (linens, seating, etc.) we set up and tear down for you!

- Suzanne JenkinsOwner, Director of OperationsHi, I'm Suzanne, and I'm the one who you'll probably speak with first when you contact Carawood Lake. I'm all about positive energy, joyful vibes, and meaningful connections. In my former life, I was actually an OB/GYN, guiding people through the joys of births and difficulties that come with challenging diagnoses. I left clinical practice during the COVID years, but realized I was still very drawn to helping people during life's biggest moments and focusing on JOY. Although we are newer venue owners, I have lots of experience both in business (I ran my own private practice) and in managing high-stress, high-stakes situations, and I LOVE working with people. My promise to you, if you choose Carawood Lake, is to see you, hear you, and help you experience this beautiful moment in your life joyfully. And we would be honored to walk with you on this journey :)
