The lodge at Carawood Lake was so idyllic for our family’s wedding. We loved the convenience of the kitchen and the beautiful wood bar as well as the stage for the band/DJ. Suzanne was incredibly responsive and accommodating. The whole night felt so special because of the beautiful scenery. After dancing the kids roasted s'more's over a fire next to the lake. All in all a perfect evening.
Carawood was an incredible place to host a wedding. The lodge sits in a beautiful natural setting, with the lake and trees creating a serene backdrop that felt both warm and inviting. As the sun set, guests gathered around a big bonfire, and the kids loved roasting s’mores—it gave the whole evening a cozy, unforgettable touch. Inside, the lodge had just the right lighting and ambiance to make the space feel elegant yet comfortable. The dance floor was lively all night, and everyone commented on how perfect the atmosphere was for celebrating. It truly brought together the best of the outdoors and a welcoming lodge-style charm.

Carawood Lake is a family-owned 30-acre private nature park and wedding venue in northeast Ohio, just outside of Oberlin. Carawood Lake is great for indoor/outdoor events, featuring a fully climate-controlled lodge (rustic with lots of reclaimed wood, a stone fireplace, and iron fixtures), a covered patio, a large lakeside lawn, and an outdoor wood-burning fire pit.
At the heart of the property is a two-acre lake, surrounded by acres of trees and meadows for photos, ceremonies, and overnight camping. (That's right - you and your party can have the full grounds ALL TO YOURSELF, with campfires burning as long as you'd like!)
All reservations include indoor tables and chairs for up to 125 guests, and our classic wedding package comes with tablecloths, chair covers, indoor string lights and ceiling drapes, free use of centerpiece items in our Something Borrowed Closet, professional-grade AV equipment, and outdoor ceremony seats. Plus, anything that is ours (linens, seating, etc.) we set up and tear down for you!

- Suzanne JenkinsOwner, Director of OperationsHi, I'm Suzanne, and I'm the one who you'll probably speak with first when you contact Carawood Lake. I'm all about positive energy, joyful vibes, and meaningful connections. In my former life, I was actually an OB/GYN, guiding people through the joys of births and difficulties that come with challenging diagnoses. I left clinical practice during the COVID years, but realized I was still very drawn to helping people during life's biggest moments and focusing on JOY. Although we are newer venue owners, I have lots of experience both in business (I ran my own private practice) and in managing high-stress, high-stakes situations, and I LOVE working with people. My promise to you, if you choose Carawood Lake, is to see you, hear you, and help you experience this beautiful moment in your life joyfully. And we would be honored to walk with you on this journey :)
