My approach is primarily candid, focusing on the genuine moments and connections unfolding naturally around you. When a little direction is helpful, whether during family portraits or photos of the two of you, I’ll step in with some guidance while keeping it comfortable, relaxed, and fun.

Based in Missoula, I photograph weddings throughout Western Montana, including the Bitterroot Valley, Mission Valley, Kalispell, Whitefish, Glacier National Park, Helena, Butte, Big Sky, and beyond.

Hi, I’m Carin, the photographer behind Carin Rene Photo!
I’m a Missoula wedding photographer with a love for vibrant color, candid moments, and celebrations full of personality. My goal is to capture the spirit and energy of YOUR wedding celebration, from the big, joyful moments to all the little interactions happening in between.
My approach is primarily candid and documentary, allowing you to stay present and actually enjoy your wedding day. When it’s time for family portraits or photos of the two of you, I’ll step in with gentle guidance so you never have to wonder what to do. Most importantly, I want you, your family, and your friends to feel comfortable being photographed and for the whole experience to feel relaxed and fun.
Before photography, I spent 16 years as a physician assistant, and that experience shaped a lot of who I am on wedding days. I’m calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and always paying attention to what’s happening around me. I’ll help keep things moving when needed, while giving you the space to simply enjoy your day.
When I’m not photographing weddings, I’m a devoted cat mom and proud auntie, and I have a serious soft spot for kids and pets at weddings. You’ll often find me photographing the sweet, funny, completely unscripted moments happening around the edges of the celebration, because those are often the memories that end up meaning the most.
