I had the pleasure of working with Jeff Song (primary photographer), Chris Thomas (secondary photographer), and Ched Nunez (videographer). A talented and passionate trio. The teams’ enthusiasm was clear and they went the extra mile, even getting down on the floor during our ceremony to get some shots. Ched, our videographer, even endured a bee sting while filming, that's dedication! Carl Elixir (the studio owner) was a pleasure to work with. He was responsive, organized, and always available to answer our questions. His website is clear and informative, providing the necessary details for planning your special day. While we did not get to pick our specific photographers or videographers (they were assigned to us by Carl), I was able to look at Jeff’s IG before signing the contract. I highly recommend doing a trial run with your photographer (e.g., the engagement photos) so you know what you do and don’t like. We opted to do our engagement photos in Old Town Alexandria on December 10 and Carl Elixir delivered the photos to us on December 22, ahead of schedule and the holidays, which was awesome and the best surprise. I highly recommend Carl Elixir and his team for your wedding. Their professionalism, talent, and dedication made for some unforgettable photos that we will have for a lifetime.

Choosing Carl Elixir and his team for our wedding was by far one of the best decisions we made. From start to finish, our experience was beyond positive! The team was incredibly responsive, addressing all of our questions and concerns promptly. We were drawn to Carl Elixir’s work because of the dramatic, unique style we saw online, and they absolutely delivered on that vision. During our engagement shoot, there were many people in the background in DC. The team kindly edited them out, making the photos perfect for our invitations. Although we originally booked another photographer who had moved, we were assigned Jeff instead. I was a bit nervous about the change, but Jeff did NOT disappoint! He was extremely flexible and passionate about his work, ensuring we got the best photos possible. Despite a few hiccups in the timeline, he kept us calm and made us feel our best. If you want breathtaking photos and footage that you'll cherish for a lifetime, look no further than Carl Elixir Photography!

I hired Carl Elixir studio for my engagement and wedding photos. I had Jeff Song as my photographer. Everything was very professional and moved smoothly! I had a halloween wedding and Jeff was 100% onboard with having fun with it and making my creative vision come to life. The engagement photos were taken at a very gorgeous location and his direction was great. He did an amazing job making us feel comfortable and like we were super cool models haha. The day of the wedding he was punctual and made sure everything was covered and nothing important was missed. Everyone I spoke to was very impressed by his demeanor and skill. The editing on the photos was gorgeous and the turnaround time was reasonable. Definitely worth the money for your special day!

I loved working with Carl and his team, they were responsive, punctual, and professional. I was very nervous that day, but the team made me feel easy during the entire process. We have very young children, but they were able to capture beautiful pictures and videos throughout the day. I love the final results, the photographs, and film look incredible! I’m thankful and I recommend this team!

Everyone at the Carl Elixir team was truly a dream to work with. They were extremely quick to reply and provided concise and detailed pricing. They really have something to fit any budget which was incredible, you also get amazing value for the price. Ash and Trey were our team of photographers and we are still speechless from the footage. Ash was our primary photographer and worked with us from our engagement shoot to the big day and her energy was infectious. We were so lucky to have had such a wonderful team on our side. We honestly stumbled upon this team but we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with them. Anyone would be lucky to have there special day captured by this them.

Great photography, videography, and production studio to entrust with your wedding memories! Carl Elixir Studio’s booking process is straight-forward and its pricing structure is reasonable and fair for the quality of service and product we received. Prior to the day of, we informed the Studio on what style we were going for (i.e., natural lighting, candid) and that we wanted to focus on photos with guests. Jeff was our photographer and Jabraan was our videographer and they were both so easy to work with. We are not comfortable in front of the camera, but Jeff and Jabraan gave us helpful prompts in a friendly and efficient way. Both of them worked energetically from beginning to end and Jeff even stayed a bit later to take portraits of some remaining guests, which we appreciated. The Studio-produced film was artsy and cinematic and the touched up photos were clean and summery. Can’t go wrong with this experienced Studio that listens to your vision for your wedding and executes it exceptionally.

We chose Carl Elixir Studio because they came highly recommended from our planner, Completely Coordinated. We then looked at their gallery online and instantly fell in love with their style. Carl Elixir Studio was incredibly easy to work with the entire time, and was transparent throughout the process. They were absolutely worth the cost. We opted for a second photographer, which I would absolutely recommend. One followed me, and one followed my husband. We only kept one photographer for the last hour, which was plenty. We got our photos back in a very reasonable amount of time, and they were perfect!! We gave the photographers almost complete creative control, and their ideas were so creative and fun! They made our wedding parties laugh and enjoy the day, and it was a great experience overall.

Carl Elixir and his team were by far one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Working with Carl in advance of our big day was so seamless and he assuaged any concerns we had about fitting all we wanted within our timeline. We were fortunate that we got to work with both Jeff and Chuck (photographers) and Jon (videographer) - all of whom were AMAZING. Truly. The energy they brought to the day helped calm our jitters, made us feel so beautiful/handsome and important, and helped keep our spirits high - particularly as we were experiencing some touch-and-go weather. Working with this team was a definite highlight - both in the weeks leading up to our wedding and on the day of. We could not recommend Carl and his team more!! If you want unbelievable photos and footage that you will admire for the rest of your life, look no further!

My husband and I couldn't be happier with our decision to hire Carl Elixir for our wedding day! We opted for the 8-hour package with both photography and videography, and it was absolutely the perfect choice. Ash (photographer) and Ched (videographer) did an incredible job of capturing every detail and emotion of our special day. They were professional and a joy to work with. They made us feel at ease throughout the entire process, from the first look to the last song during the reception. The photos and video are absolutely stunning. Ash captured the essence of our wedding, from the romantic ceremony to the fun and laughter of the reception. Carl Elixir Studio was one the best vendors I worked with throughout my wedding planning experience. Carl is amazing at matching couples with a photographer that fits their needs both from a photography style and personality standpoint. We were assigned Andy as our photographer, and from the beginning he made us feel comfortable and confident in his ability to capture our day. They are extremely prompt in their response and delivered my wedding photos just two weeks afterward. We are still gushing at the shots we got, even though lighting was a concern with how bright it was during the day, the shots were absolutely beautiful. My husband is also not very good at taking photos or posing, but Andy and his assistant were very patient with him and captured great shots with his groomsmen. I'll be staring at these photos for years to come. I cannot recommend Carl and his team more!

We booked Carl Elixir Photography and were happy with the variety of packages they offered. We had a long reception and wanted the photographer there for all of it. Chuck was the photographer and he went above and beyond getting shots all around the vineyard where the wedding was held. We enjoyed the experience and we would definitely recommend this vendor.

My husband and I had the best experience with the videographer and a photographer crew. The team captured our day perfectly as Morias. They had experience at the location and knew the perfect places to take photos. They also dealt with my crazy family which no many people can do. We appreciate their hard work and amazing talent. We would recommend Jeff and Jon a million times over.

I highly recommend Carl Elixir Studio! The entire team is wonderful. We got both photography and videography for our wedding. Our photographer was amazing. She knows how to demand a room in a respectful way. She made us feel very comfortable. She is able to get the shots in a timely manner without sacrificing detail. She is so creative and gets beautiful shots above and beyond expectations. She helped pose us but also allowed us to be ourselves. The videographers work with the photographers as a team so they knew how to compliment each other without getting in the way of the shot. I honestly forgot they were there which was perfect because they were able to capture all of the moments and allowed us to be in the moment. The photos were edited and sent to us in a timely manner. We are very happy with the end results! And the price is definitely worth the quality of service you receive!

The initial consultation with both the master photographer and videographer, was a joy and a testament to the professionalism and talent of this exceptional company. Both of our masters including Carl himself took the time to get to know us as a couple, our story, and the specific moments we wanted to capture. This personalized approach made us feel confident that we were in the right hands. On the day of the wedding, the team of 4 exceeded our expectations. Our master photographer was basically our hype man - being able to capture even my shy niece's antics and glances with every emotion and detail. We had a wonderful experience with Carl Elixir Studios! Our photographers Jeff and Monica were fantastic the day of, making sure to cover everything we asked, eager to work with us for any ideas we had on the day of, and came prepared for the shots we knew we wanted from the beginning. Our videographers Jon and Josh were great as well, recording beautiful footage and capturing moments between us and our guests that were a joy to revisit. The team incorporated our suggestions and requests into the editing process and were always responsive and clear throughout the edit process. From the planning process to the engagement photo session to the wedding weekend, Carl and his team demonstrated the highest level of professionalism, expertise, and passion for what they do. Chuck is not only an amazing photographer, he is also just an awesome guy. He put us totally at ease! He's both totally laid back and extremely professional. He was able to pick up on what we were looking for for our wedding photos, without asking us a million questions. He made us feel calm, he made us laugh, and he took incredible photos!

We started our communication with Carl and found that Carl was very friendly, open to meeting with us virtually, and explained the wedding photography experience in a way that we understood. Chuck was our photographer and he took our engagement and wedding photos. He was fun and helped with poses when we needed help. I could not have imagined a better experience or better photos. Carl was very accommodating and responsive throughout the planning process. Our photographers Sam and Tara were great to work with the day of the wedding. They came early and gave very helpful prompts for posing. The day flowed super well with them, and I didn't feel like photos were taking forever (I hate posing). The time of day didn't help (it was right after lunchtime), but Tara and Sam were able to work with that and we got some really great couple photos. The pictures were made available to us just a week after the wedding and we were super happy with the results overall. For some pictures, I feel like they could have told us certain things (move some chairs out for a picture so they're not seen, a leftover tattoo on my arm from my bachelorette, etc) that looking back I wish I'd have known so we could do something about it BUT I would still recommend them despite this because these are only some pictures and a great majority of our pictures are frame-worthy. Like if I could have just a gallery of Carl's photos of the wedding, I would. Highly recommend! Edit: After telling Carl about the tattoo on my arm specifically, he mentioned that there is a policy in place for photographers not to make comments about the couple's wardrobe choices, tattoos, or any other personal preferences. This was really good to know, and we understand why, but he kindly agreed to edit those pictures.

Carl and Chuck provide fantastic wedding photography services. Chuck was our photographer for the engagement session and wedding, and he brought so much enthusiasm and energy to help us feel comfortable and bring out our best smiles, and was willing to go above and beyond to get great shots of us. Chuck's humor, encouragement, and professionalism went a long way for us as we were not familiar with professional photography. Carl was also prompt and professional in communication, and provided amazing photos for us that really captured the scenes of our wedding day.

Working with Carl Elixir Studio was one of the best decisions we made in regards to our wedding. Carl had great communication and was very responsive. I had a couple of questions throughout the process and he always had excellent suggestions that didn't break the bank. Our photographer, Charles, absolutely KILLED IT! His understanding of light and angles produced unforgettable photos that I would never had thought of. He was hustling all night, everywhere I looked he was taking photos of guests, us, or wedding details. I don't know if this amazing man ever took a break. Charles was charismatic and hilarious which put our entire wedding party at ease especially during our photo session. I cannot tell you how many guests approached me that night and the days after speaking his praise and saying how lovely he was. Charles' energy was contagious and I truly think no photographer could ever fill his shoes. We are so indebted to him! You will not regret hiring Carl Elixir Studio and I highly suggest you request Charles if he is available.

We LOVE our wedding photos! We worked with Charles Marlowe (Chuck) at Carl Elixir. He was fantastic. So nice to work with and very creative with his shots. We recently hired Carl Elixir Studio as the photographer for a retirement and anniversary celebration event, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The photographer captured all the special moments of the day, from candid to posed shots. Carl and Charles did an amazing job photographing our wedding! We loved the energy they brought (Charles would literally dive to get the best photos!). Jeff Song was our photographer and he was fantastic! He was so good at working with all of our wedding party and all of our guests. We saw a sneak peak of the photos he took for us and I cannot wait to get all of them! Cannot recommend them enough

We are thrilled with our wedding photos from Carl Elixir Photography. Tara was incredibly professional and did an amazing job from start to finish. She graciously worked within our schedule and was able to capture any and all requests we had for our wedding photos. Jeff Song and his crew were one of the best decision we made for our wedding! He came with 2 other photographers (bonus! And didn’t expect) so my bride and I were able to get individual shots before the wedding ceremony. The dimly lit church photos came out great and well as the outdoor one. Action pictures from the dance floor were amazing. Jeff was the upmost professional, his photos were superb and would book him without a second thought. And I’m not just saying this, since I am super picky about many things in life. He carried lights with him, had multiple shots from every angle and captured every moment as we remembered them. Thank you for memorizing our special evening so perfectly. We will definitely recommend you to any one we know. The pictures were also so quickly and well edited. Carl Elixir captured moments that we will cherish for a lifetime If a picture can say 1,000 words, then Carl’s pictures say 10,000. We knew we would get the best with Carl being our photographer and we are glad we didn’t skip out. The photos he delivered are just tiers above everything we’ve seen. They have the right balance of depth and softness and brings the moment to life. My husband and I are able to relive all of our wedding emotions and memories from these pictures. Carl and Chuck’s energy was contagious the day if the wedding. They made all the pre-ceremony pictures enjoyable through the endless marathon of posing. Many laughs were shared from Chuck’s glowing energy. They were able to set the stage and guide you through the vision of the shot, not just telling us what to do. We were able to rely on their direction and they kept us on schedule. The candid shots taken during the ceremony and reception were just as amazing. Our guests raved how much excitement Carl and Chuck brought when it came time for them to take pictures. While we wouldn’t say our wedding day felt like a blur, we would say it was a long day with so many events that there were times that we had to rush to stay on schedule. Going through these moments captured by Carl allows us to relive on our perfect day each time. We've received endless compliments and will cherish these pictures forever.

One of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding was hiring Carl Elixir Photography. We are beyond please with their work and professionalism. Carl is a very personable and talented photographer! He was really fun and easy to work with, highly communicative, reliable, on time, and we loved how the photos turned out. We worked with him for our engagement photoshoot and also for our wedding. He really cares about customer satisfaction, and makes an effort to understand what the vision is, what style of photos we want, and take notes on any specific shots so he doesn’t miss anything important. He’s also really quick to turn around a sneak peek of photos only a few days after the shoot, which is awesome. Book him, you won't regret it!

We couldn’t be more pleased to have Carl as our wedding photographer. Carl is an expert at their craft. From the first conversation we had he was so professional and easy going! He took in details and requests of what we wanted for our wedding and offered great suggestions when needed. His prices are very reasonable but the quality of his work and attention to detail is priceless! I would recommend him to any of my friends. Our wedding guests commented on how friendly he was and he was very unobtrusive, capturing our most important wedding day moments without being in the way. The experience with Carl Elixir Photography was amazing. We have Eric Chiu as our photographer for both the engagement session and wedding. He is very passionate and dedicated. He spent more hours than included in our plan to help catch the perfect sunset light for our engagement photos. At the same time, he helped to make us more comfortable as we don't usually get photographed by professionals. On our big day, Eric is also very caring and helpful, and captured the most wonderful moments! All of our photos got a lot of compliments from our friends and families! Carl also did a great job editing our photos with a super fast turnaround. All in all, amazing team and awesome work, absolutely will recommend to a friend and hire them for a second time!

Wow! It was an amazing experience working with Carl Elixir Photography! From the beginning Carl was very responsive and helped us out with the whole process. He listened to what we envisioned and translated that to the actual photographer (Chuck) very well. Chuck captured our day and exceeded our expectations. Our photos came out more than amazing. He was great to work with and very passionate about what he does. His energy is unmatched! Overall a great experience from start to finish. Some things we loved: patience, flexibility, ability to work within constraints (e.g. just a few minutes to grab shots) and still produce something exquisite, energy (Chuck tore up the dance floor), creativity, vision. We wanted to express our sincere thanks to Carl and his Team for going above and beyond when doing our photo shoot. Carl is such an easy going person and he has this charm in his personality that instantly makes you feel like you’ve been friends with him for a long time even it’s your first time meeting him. Both my wife and I are rather shy and this really helps during the photo shoot. And that’s not just it, what’s even more amazing about Carl is his photography skills and his creativity. He constantly gives out posing advices that’s easy to follow and always thinks outside the box to take beautiful yet creative pictures that just blow our mind away. Both Carl and his assistant Charles strives to entertain us during the entire photo shoot process, and we cannot thank them enough for making the entire photo shoot so fun and enjoyable. After the photo shoot, we received all unedited pictures immediately on the next day and received our photoshopped pictures promptly afterwards. Carl is exceptionally skilled, patient and kind and towards all our photoshop requests and let me tell you, this guy refuse to give up until all our requests are fulfilled. We were so happy that we went with Carl from the very beginning and I gotta say, the service here is just top Notch, period! Cannot wait to book my next photo shoot with Carl!

Chuck was our photographer for our wedding, and thank God that he was our photographer! He had a very energetic and cheerful vibe and put smile on everyone's face at the wedding. We definitely loved the way he directed us during the photoshoot. I'm not very used to taking photos but under his guidance, we captured the most beautiful moments of our wedding. He was very friendly, polite, hard-working, and professional. He is a type of person who would shoot 500 photos when we ask for only 100. I saw his sincerity and entusiasm, and he truly wished for our happy wedding. He's not just a good photographer but a wonderful human being who brings happiness around him. Everyone at our wedding made good comments about him and wanted to get his business cards. I can never thank him enough for his service and I recommend Chuck for any couple seeking a 5-star photographer. We had a nightmare experience with a photographer company prior to finding out about Carl Elixir Photography. Once we had our zoom meeting with Carl, we knew it would be smooth sailing from then on. Little did we know how amazing they actually would be. These guys came into our suites right on time following the timeline exactly but it was like hanging out with friends. Friends that are really professional and REALLY good at taking pictures. They made all of us feel comfortable, laugh and relax on such a high stress day. These guys are the epitome of fun. They got out on the dance floor with us and were dancing. Took selfies with us. Made our non traditional wedding look amazing. Captured our viral TikTok Flower Man. And of course, the star wars themed pictures we asked for; they turned out amazing. We were blown away at how good these guys are. Even our guests were raving about our photographers. Our event was 7/1/22 at Herrington on the Bay in North Beach, MD. Highly, highly recommend.

We did a 2 hour pre-wedding shoot with Carl and Chuck and they were awesome! We don't usually take pictures so we were worried about posing, but they guided us so patiently through poses that turned out beautifully. Carl was also super responsive and flexible when we had to change our shoot date due to rain. The final pictures looked so great; we would definitely recommend!

Carl was the first vendor I contacted after I booked my wedding venue. I first knew him and his work back in 2018 when he worked on my friend's wedding, where I was a bridesmaid. Working with him as a bride was an even better experience. Carl is very professional and responsive, answering all my questions promptly and helping me feel less nervous. I booked the engagement photo session with him as well, because my fiance is not a fan of being photographed at all. The engagement session went so well that even my fiance said he really enjoyed it! (huge shoutout to Chunk, Carl's assistant for our engagement session). I want to recommend booking an engagement session with Carl, especially if you are not familiar with posing in front of the camera. They made us feel natural, not forced at all, but at the same time they could grasp the best moments. So we felt more comfortable being photographed on our wedding day. On the day of the wedding Carl and Eric did a great job capturing us, our bridal party, our parents, and our guests. The weather was not perfect but they made it seem perfect. They also had great teamwork with the videography team. Everything happens so fast, and before I realize the day passed. However, thanks to Carl, I could look at the beautiful pictures and relive the day once and once again, for the many years to come.

I had high expectations even before he did his work based on his website but throughout the process, his feedback was very fast and he made sure he communicated with us in preparation to the wedding day photo. He was really the best to the point where, I would want our future baby's photos done by him but unfortunately he doesn't do baby photos. lol* I already recommended a friend and I would def recommend him to every future bride. My husband and I were looking for photographers to capture the elegance and grandeur of our wedding and Carl and his assistant Eric definitely delivered. Our portraits are dramatic yet timeless and we have gotten so many compliments on our photos all thanks to Carl and Eric. We have never looked better and they were so fun to work with! We had initially planned to do photos outside but Carl pivoted flawlessly and took some astounding shots of us at Union Station. Highly recommend this team!!
