We had a great experience with Carl and his team for our wedding on 5/17/2025. From the beginning, Carl was very responsive, communicative, and on top of things. He met with me via phone whenever I had questions. He responded to my emails very quickly, sometimes just hours later. Going into the day, I knew what to expect. On the day of our wedding, we had Villa as our photographer and Jabraan as our videographer. They were both fantastic. Our original photo spot for the first look, family/friend photos was way too sunny, so Villa worked hard to find us a spot in the shade instead. Although it was not what I initially envisioned, the photos still turned out great. The only issue was that the new spot was in front of a very reflective building, so you could see some shadows of people standing inside/reflections of people on the outside - but I brought this up to Carl, and he helped me edit those photos based on my requests. We also asked for some changes to our wedding video, and he edited that based on our requests as well. Carl was flexible and easy to work with. Villa and Jabraan were integral in capturing our special day. Our venue was very disorganized, so Villa even helped out with some small tasks that were not part of her job (for example, getting us forks for our cake cutting). I really enjoyed having them there! Looking back, the only slightly rocky part to this experience was coordinating our meet up for the wedding day. I connected briefly with Villa and Jabraan via email leading up to the day, but I wish I had asked for a phone call to discuss specifics (meet up location, backup location, specific shots we wanted to capture, overall vibe we were going for). But to be honest, it was fine because everything still worked out in the end!

We had an amazing experience with Carl Elixir Studio. Carl is kind and incredibly talented. Carl also went above and beyond during our engagement shoot, taking extra time to get every shot just right, including some special photos of my mom and me that we’ll always treasure. On our wedding day, he and his team (which included Chuck and Jon) brought such great energy and were fun, upbeat, and charismatic, which our guests absolutely loved. They helped keep the vibe light and joyful throughout a day that had its ups and downs. He captured every special moment so beautifully and made us feel completely at ease in front of the camera. Carl was also very accommodating with some of our editing preferences, and we really appreciated his flexibility and attention to detail. We are so excited to have stunning photos to cherish for years to come.

We really enjoyed our experience working with Carl Elixir Studio. Our main photographer was Charles, and our videographer was Ched. Both of them did an awesome job, were super professional and focused on hitting our key moments throughout the day. Many of our guests commented on how fun Charles is, and how well he worked the crowd to get great shots during the dance portion. Eric, our second shooter, was also great, he really put my husband at ease before the first look. We appreciated our whole team’s dedication to including our special details, like some heirloom pieces I wore and including our family members. We haven’t gotten back our final photos, but Charles also shot our engagement pictures and we really love how they came out. They capture the fun we like to have and how excited we were to get married. Highly recommend Carl Elixir’s team, we feel like we got a good deal for the amazing work our team did for us!

Jeff and Chuck did such an incredible job for my engagement and wedding photos! All of the photos turned out absolutely incredible, and the artistic ideas for posing and the photographs were absolutely amazing. The style of photography and the way everything turned out was better than I could’ve ever imagined. Not only were they the photographers of the wedding, but they became the favorite people of the wedding for most of the guests. I highly recommend this studio!!!

Carl Elixir Studio was a great decision for us on our wedding day. Carl was very responsive to our emails and we received the photos only two weeks after our wedding! We worked with Andy and Chris who were extremely knowledgeable and worked seamlessly together. We traveled between three venues and they were respectful of each space, blending into the background and capturing really lovely shots of the environments and the people. They did a great job making us feel comfortable and posing us, and they helped us efficiently get pictures with all of our guests! Additionally, they were extremely accommodating, focusing on moments they wanted to capture while allowing guests to request pictures. We would highly recommend Andy, Chris, and Carl and are happy with how the pictures turned out!

I hired Carl for pre-wedding photo shoot. Carl and his team is very professional, enthusiastic and responsive. He is very reassuring and knows exactly what to do and where to go. He is fun and easy to work with and I absolutely love my pre-wedding photos. He is extremely experienced and very good at what he does and I am glad that I booked him for my very first photo shoot. My fiancé and I had a lot of fun that day and it is definitely one of our favourite memories.

I had the pleasure of working with Jeff Song (primary photographer), Chris Thomas (secondary photographer), and Ched Nunez (videographer). A talented and passionate trio. The teams’ enthusiasm was clear and they went the extra mile, even getting down on the floor during our ceremony to get some shots. Ched, our videographer, even endured a bee sting while filming, that's dedication! Carl Elixir (the studio owner) was a pleasure to work with. He was responsive, organized, and always available to answer our questions. His website is clear and informative, providing the necessary details for planning your special day. While we did not get to pick our specific photographers or videographers (they were assigned to us by Carl), I was able to look at Jeff’s IG before signing the contract. I highly recommend doing a trial run with your photographer (e.g., the engagement photos) so you know what you do and don’t like. We opted to do our engagement photos in Old Town Alexandria on December 10 and Carl Elixir delivered the photos to us on December 22, ahead of schedule and the holidays, which was awesome and the best surprise. I highly recommend Carl Elixir and his team for your wedding. Their professionalism, talent, and dedication made for some unforgettable photos that we will have for a lifetime.

I loved working with Carl and his team, they were responsive, punctual, and professional. I was very nervous that day, but the team made me feel easy during the entire process. We have very young children, but they were able to capture beautiful pictures and videos throughout the day. I love the final results, the photographs, and film look incredible! Everyone at the Carl Elixir team was truly a dream to work with. They were extremely quick to reply and provided concise and detailed pricing. They really have something to fit any budget which was incredible, you also get amazing value for the price. Ash and Trey were our team of photographers and we are still speechless from the footage. Great photography, videography, and production studio to entrust with your wedding memories! Carl Elixir Studio’s booking process is straight-forward and its pricing structure is reasonable and fair for the quality of service and product we received. Prior to the day of, we informed the Studio on what style we were going for (i.e., natural lighting, candid) and that we wanted to focus on photos with guests. Jeff was our photographer and Jabraan was our videographer and they were both so easy to work with. We are not comfortable in front of the camera, but Jeff and Jabraan gave us helpful prompts in a friendly and efficient way. Both of them worked energetically from beginning to end and Jeff even stayed a bit later to take portraits of some remaining guests, which we appreciated. The Studio-produced film was artsy and cinematic and the touched up photos were clean and summery. Can’t go wrong with this experienced Studio that listens to your vision for your wedding and executes it exceptionally.

We chose Carl Elixir Studio because they came highly recommended from our planner, Completely Coordinated. We then looked at their gallery online and instantly fell in love with their style. Carl Elixir Studio was incredibly easy to work with the entire time, and was transparent throughout the process. They were absolutely worth the cost. We opted for a second photographer, which I would absolutely recommend. One followed me, and one followed my husband. We only kept one photographer for the last hour, which was plenty. We got our photos back in a very reasonable amount of time, and they were perfect!! We gave the photographers almost complete creative control, and their ideas were so creative and fun! They made our wedding parties laugh and enjoy the day, and it was a great experience overall.

Carl Elixir and his team were by far one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Working with Carl in advance of our big day was so seamless and he assuaged any concerns we had about fitting all we wanted within our timeline. We were fortunate that we got to work with both Jeff and Chuck (photographers) and Jon (videographer) - all of whom were AMAZING. Truly. Carl Elixir Studio was one the best vendors I worked with throughout my wedding planning experience. Carl is amazing at matching couples with a photographer that fits their needs both from a photography style and personality standpoint. We were assigned Andy as our photographer, and from the beginning he made us feel comfortable and confident in his ability to capture our day. They are extremely prompt in their response and delivered my wedding photos just two weeks afterward. We are still gushing at the shots we got, even though lighting was a concern with how bright it was during the day, the shots were absolutely beautiful. My husband is also not very good at taking photos or posing, but Andy and his assistant were very patient with him and captured great shots with his groomsmen. I'll be staring at these photos for years to come. I cannot recommend Carl and his team more!

We booked Carl Elixir Photography and were happy with the variety of packages they offered. We had a long reception and wanted the photographer there for all of it. Jeff Song and his crew were one of the best decision we made for our wedding! He came with 2 other photographers (bonus! And didn’t expect) so my bride and I were able to get individual shots before the wedding ceremony. The dimly lit church photos came out great and well as the outdoor one. Action pictures from the dance floor were amazing. Jeff was the upmost professional, his photos were superb and would book him without a second thought. And I’m not just saying this, since I am super picky about many things in life. He carried lights with him, had multiple shots from every angle and captured every moment as we remembered them. Thank you for memorizing our special evening so perfectly. We will definitely recommend you to any one we know. The pictures were also so quickly and well edited.
