Carlo's Bakery

Carlo's Bakery baked our wedding cake for our wedding at Liberty House, and we were floored by how beautiful and tasty it was! We gave our consultant, James, a bunch of photos of some ideas we liked and asked him if they could incorporate certain elements of each one into our cake design. We wanted a tree design to match the Pacific Northwest meets NYC vibe we were going for with our wedding decor, and they absolutely nailed it. So many guests commented on how it looked like a real tree! Better yet, it tasted amazing! We opted for vanilla and chocolate cake with Oreo French Cream, and it was absolutely delicious! If you're looking for a phenomenal baker, Carlo's Bakery is it! Thank you to James and all of the staff at Carlo's for bringing our cake vision to life and making it even better than we could have imagined!

We chose to do a fondant superhero cake and it came out absolutely perfect and delicious. They did an amazing job!!

Carlo's Bakery was the preferred vendor with our wedding venue and we are very happy that they were! The cake consultation was great! Tasting the cake choices with so many great tasting fillings and then having to pick one was the hardest part. The staff at Carlo's was very friendly and great to work with. The sample wedding cakes on display were all beautiful and very detailed. The same detail and quality went into our wedding cake and looks great in our photos. (And tasted great too!!) The desserts at our wedding were also supplied by Carlo's bakery and were also great tasting just like the wedding cake. Thank you Carlo's for a beautiful great tasting wedding cake which added to an amazing unforgettable day.

Best wedding cake ever! They worked within our budget and what we wanted the cake to look like and it was delicious. We can't wait to eat the topper soon for our one year anniversary! Thanks to Carlo's Bakery we had the perfect cake for us.

My cake was beautiful and tasted amazing. The service was great- the cake tasting was perfect.

Our cake tasted delicious and they did a great job on our sand castle cake. Our issue is that when they delivered it to the venue, the top 2 tiers of the cake were tipping over and no one fixed it. We were disappointed because we spent a lot of money on the cake and the presentation was subpar when it should/could have been amazing.

I've had Carlo's cakes before but my wedding cake was on a whole new level! It was red velvet with creamcheese frosting. All my guests said this was the best tasting cake they've ever had.

My husband and I worked with Angelo from Carlo's and it was great. We had nothing to worry about after we picked a flavor and design of the cake; Angelo handled everything. It was delivered on time and was honestly the best wedding cake I have ever had! Would definitely recommend.

Our venue contracted out to Carlo's Bakery so it was already included in our contract but we always wanted a cake from there. They did not disappoint, the tasting was so much fun & absolutely delicious. We chose to have one of the hall cakes that was included in the package and it was so beautiful, they allowed us to alter it a little bit too. We even alternated the flavors of the cake on each layer. it was outstanding and so yummy! can't wait to eat it again on our one year anniversary!

We were married at Liberty House Restaurant in Jersey City, and the wedding package included a cake from Carlo's. Our cake tasting was excellent - it was so hard to choose flavours! We had a three tier cake, so we ended up getting a different flavour for every tier. Every other wedding cake I've had was dry and flavourless, but our cake from Carlo's was AMAZING! It was moist and delicious, and it looked excellent!

The consultation was great--Marlo was friendly and personable--but the cake ended up being less than stellar. I had a photo/reference of the cake I wanted of a beautiful lavender ombre but what I got was mixed purple hues with a band of blue at the top. Also, I had asked for sugar flowers cascading down the cake and only barely got them thanks to the follow-up phone call before the wedding. Apparently this detail wasn't written down despite being discussed during the consultation. Overall, the cake tasted alright and it at least looked presentable. Just not what I would have paid for.

The Carlos bakery team did an amazing job on my wedding cake. My cake was amazing. I had no words to describe it. I loved it. Just what I wanted and delicious. My family and friends are still talking about it. Thanks so much!

Yummy and beautiful cake.

GORGEOUS cake, and absolutely delicious. I am trying so hard not to take the top piece out of the freezer (the wedding was this past Saturday). The tasting was such a good experience and they gave me exactly what I wanted.

Our cake came included from our vendor (Liberty House) from Carlo's Bakery. The cake we chose from the bakery was chocolate and vanilla. We apparently made the right choice on the filling because it was delicious!! Our guests loved the cake! At the consultation the staff was so nice, and we would highly recommend them to any bride, or anyone needing a cake for an occasion!

The cake consultation was great, and the assistant followed up with me a few weeks before the wedding. But, when he called he had a totally different description of the cake than we had discussed. On the wedding night, the cake was very pretty but missing the topper of flowers we had ordered and there was a bump on the top of the fondant. The filling was also different than what we had tasted and wound up with much more icing than cake...not really my favorite. The guests liked it though. I guess they didn't know what it was supposed to be in the first place, so without a reference it was fine!

I was skeptical about using Carlo's...knowing that they are a big, famous bakery, I thought that that would have a negative effect on the quality and service we received; however, the complete opposite was true. Our cake was outstanding and all the guests raved about it. The staff was very patient, helpful, and organized and all the details of our cake came out exactly as planned! Very impressed and would definitely use them again!

Got the wedding cake and groom's cake from there. They sculpted my husband and I in our work uniforms. And for the groom's cake they sculpted batman and scarecrow fighting each other on a football field. People couldn't believe that it's edible. We picked different flavors for different layers, when we tasted the cake on the wedding day it was actually delicious.

We got our cake at Carlo's Bakery as part of our package at the Liberty House. The red velvet cake was absolutely amazing and the fondant was delicious (which is rare for fondant). We asked them to match the color of the flowers to the bridesmaid dresses and it perfect, despite the difficulty. Extremely impressed!

We love our NYC skyline so much that we asked for it to be on our cake. It was an up charge from the Liberty House in Jersey City (included in the venue price) but it was amazing! Recommend the chocolate with raspberry :D

The process of selecting a cake with Carlos Bakery was a piece of cake :-) Our wedding cake was beautiful and good to eat too!! If you want to make an impression with your cake, this is the bakery to choose. We've used them again for a friend's baby shower and got the cutest expecting mother cake. It was great too!

I attended a Sweet 16 that had a cake from here and it was gorgeous! She had a Masquerade party and the cake was beautiful and very tasty!

I first tried Carlos Bakery a few years ago - my first red velvet cupcake. Ever since, I've been trying to find somewhere that can come close so I can indulge without going all the way to Hoboken. I've not found any that can even resemble it. Since I'd failed to find anything even remotely resembling the red velvet I craved, I went to Hoboken the morning before my wedding to pick up a Red Velvet cake from the case. We didn't open the box until about 9pm the following day and the cake was absolutely amazing! So fresh, moist and delicious - just what I had wanted... I was nervous how it would hold up after a day and a half since it usually doesn't last me more than 5 hours when I get one - but it was just as good as fresh. We ate a slice every morning before we left for the day and every night when we returned for the next 4 or 5 days - still totally delicious. I don't have any experience with custom orders or official 'wedding cake' orders... but if you'd be happy with standard cakes from the display case to serve at your wedding - I think it's the way to go! I got a few other things while I was there, so not 100% sure on the price, but it was around $25 or less and easily served 12 really good sized pieces.

What a great cake. I got a red velvet with a fudge filling and buttercream and fondant on top. It was simply divine, and the prices were great

We got our cake via a package with our venue. The cake was delicious (all the guests raved about it - we think they were being honest... haha). At the pre-event meeting, we met Buddy and the Mauro. The latter is, in person, like what you see on TV. Buddy is much more professional/friendly and less loud in person. He's a really nice guy, and this place is a great option for a delicious wedding cake.

Our cake was included in our package with Liberty House. Although there were only a few designs to choose from that were included, we were able to find one that was perfect for us. Mauro gave us some good advice on the flavors and we were very happy about our decisions. A few weeks after our initial consultation, I decided that I wanted a surprise groom's cake for my husband (a terrible towel - he is a huge Steelers fan!). Everything was handled quickly and professionally by Angelo. Although, I had some difficulty paying for the cake (they were in the middle of moving locations), everything worked out. On the day of the wedding, my husband was so surprised by the cake and it looked AMAZING! It looked just like a terrible towel! All of the Pittsburgh fans there were so excited and everyone took a million pictures of the cake. Not only were our cakes beautiful but they were delicious. Not too sweet or heavy (we had the vanilla and chocolate with chocolate mousse and the chocolate cake with chocolate mousse). I was weary about using Carlo's originally knowing all of the publicity they have gotten recently but I suppose there is a reason that they are famous. The cakes were great!

the cake was beautiful! It arrived on time, it tasted great! Unfortunately, it is very hard to get a hold of anyone on thier team or get your call returned. They are very rude- just like on thier tv show.

When I found out my venue provided a Cake Boss cake with our package, I really wasn't expecting much. I'd seen the show and had been to the bakery a few times and it didn't seem like anything special. Scheduling our tasting was a pain and it was even more difficult pushing through the massive crowds to get to our appointment. But I have to say, the cake was probably the best I'd ever tasted. Fresh, moist and delicious. Even the fondant was tasty. I'm drooling thinking about it now and I can't believe I have to wait a whole year to eat the left overs!

Beautifully crafted cakes, but not the best tasting. Also, they're so busy now because of the show that it's nearly impossible to receive the proper attention you deserve for your wedding.

My husband and I were married at Liberty House restaurant in Jersey City in November, so we had the true pleasure of getting our wedding cupcakes from the Cake Boss. We met with Mauro six months prior to make our selection and what a treat that was! The cupcakes were beautiful and very delicious. We highly recommend them.

Carlo's lived up to all the hype. The cake was not only beautiful, but it tasted delicious!

Our vendor for our reception site uses Carlo's Bakery for their wedding cakes. This is the one and the same bakery with the TV show "Cake Boss". It has been around for decades in Hoboken and often was popular among the locals before the show made them popular with the nation. We called 3 months in advanced for our cake tasting, I suggest calling more like 5 months before for this baker as they become book quickly. There was a line of which there was a 45 minute wait, which since we had an appointment we did not have to wait on. We were escorted into the bakery, quite the thing for someone who watches the show, and taken to meet with Mauro, on of the head bakers. They were very professional and very nice. We were offered coffee during our tasting and we were able to even bring my mother. We tasted 7 different kinds. It was amazing. And after we chose our design, they had a selection of about 10 and you can make edits to your cake for additional charges, they brought us downstairs and asked us if we would like anything from the bakery. We took this opportunity and everything we brought home was amazing. On the wedding day our cake looked perfect and it tasted just like it did the day we had it at the tasting. It was moist and delicious. The hard part is keeping the cake top that way for a year.
