going to be fantastic and that she was very good at running the photos on the actual day. We were lucky enough to have Carmen shoot our engagement session, rehearsal dinner and our wedding. She even did my boudoir photos! What we really loved about Carmen’s work is her ability to capture genuine emotion and vibrant colors. My husband & I have worked with other photographers before and we didn’t like how posed some of those shoots felt. Where we couldn’t smile and be ourselves. Carmen’s energy is incredible and she made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. This was huge as two people who hate having their pictures taken. Her editing and style of photography was also really important to us. My husband was really picky when it came to wedding photos and he strongly disliked heavily filtered or altered colors. He knew that at his brother’s wedding that the sky was blue and that Carmen’s work conveyed a blue-sky day. Her attention to colors I think lends to a more timeless editing style that we’ll be able to cherish for years to come without thinking of our wedding shoots as dated. In terms of planning and preparation for the wedding, Carmen was on top of it. Ahead of our wedding we put together a shot-list and coordinated with my wedding planner on the wedding timeline. Because Carmen is the badass she is, she was also super flexible on the day-of and was able to get some last-minute shots of our venue as they came to mind. Throughout the wedding day her and her second shooter worked so well with our videographers and were able to divide and conquer on our day to capture literally every moment of our wedding. The candid pictures taken during cocktail hour or at dinner are some of my favorite photos of the wedding because they allowed us to see our guests enjoying the party we worked so hard to throw and to share photos of everyone just looking so great. When I tell you every time Carmen has sent us pictures from any one of our shoots and say that WE LOOK LIKE MODELS, I mean it. And it’s not because we actually look like models but because she made us feel so special and confident. There is seriously no one else we’d rather spend our whole wedding experience with than Carmen. We are proud to call her our friend and look forward to working with her in the future. For the ladies who are on the fence about doing boudoir photos for their wedding (or any other occasion), I say DO IT. I #1 cannot recommend it enough and #2 think there is no woman better for the job than Carmen! As someone who doesn't like getting their photo taken, I was really nervous about the shoot and honestly would’ve been so happy to get ONE photo I was proud of. But Carmen once again exceeded all my expectations and we got a WHOLE ALBUM of super hot photos of me to gift my husband for our wedding. She also was so diligent about planning every part of the session - from the time and booking with the Airbnb where we did the photos, she took charge in something that would’ve made me feel overwhelmed as I simultaneously planned a wedding. It should go without saying that Carmen, during the shoot, made me feel really comfortable and like myself and didn’t suggest doing anything I wasn’t comfortable with. It was just such an empowering experience and I will look back fondly on these photos.

met on an unusual snowy day in Joshua Tree for our engagement shoot at the end of 2019. Little did we know, we'd be stuck with this amazing human for a couple more years! With our original wedding in May 2020, Carmen was quick to offer support and make any necessary adjustments. Even though it was heartbreaking, having her as one of our vendors during this awful time was beyond relief! By October of 2020 - we had a small ceremony and Carmen was one of the first vendors we contacted to make sure she was available! She was easily accommodating and helped make sure we got to capture these moments during such strange times. But we weren't ready to part ways with Carmen just yet! Fast forward to 2022 and we finally got to have our dream celebration and of course the one and only Carmen was there to capture the big day! Having Carmen during this wild ride has been amazing and we are beyond grateful. From the moment we spoke with her on the phone to our first meeting in Joshua Tree, it felt like speaking to an old friend. There is a reason "hype woman" is part of her signature! She makes you feel so at ease and even if you think you're being so awkward! She captures you and makes you look way cooler! Carmen had my husband and I laughing and enjoying these moments even if at times they were bittersweet. I cannot count the number of times our family and friends have come up to us / messaged us to say great things about this lady and how they also loved her! If you're not sold yet, logistics with Carmen was a breeze - chef's kiss! She gave us all the run down, what she needed from us, and she took care of the rest. She delivered each time - like for example we took our engagement photos pretty late and we expressed this to her, and of course - she delivered with a quick turn-around without us really even asking! By the time of our big celebration, we didn't even have to say what our vibe was or what we were trying to capture. She just got it! This review is making me miss Carmen if I'm being completely honest! We cannot recommend her enough! Such a joy to work with and we are beyond grateful to have been with her in this chapter!

for the long haul! I knew I liked Carmen’s photos from the moment I saw them because she captured so much joy and warmth in them. After one phone call with Carmen we knew she was the right person for us. My husband I met Carmen for the first time for our engagement shoot, and neither of us are too comfortable in front of the camera, but within seconds Carmen had us laughing, having fun, and really enjoying the shoot, which is a HUGE compliment from my husband who was mildly dreading being in front of the camera. The photos were beautiful! I never seem to love myself in pictures, but that changed with Carmen. Fast forward to a mild hiccup in our plans where Covid postponed our wedding, Carmen was so supportive and flexible with us. When we decided to get married on our original date anyway, Carmen adjusted our package with her to shoot both our mini-ceremony and our full ceremony the following year. The photos from (both) our weddings are some of my most cherished items (seriously, I have them all over the walls of our home). She truly captured the joy from the day and made us both feel so special and comfortable. My husband and I chose not to do a first look, which meant we fit our bridal parties into the first part of the cocktail party, but both of us wanted to maximize our party-time, too, and Carmen was AMAZING at getting us all the shots we wanted, moving quickly, and maximizing our time celebrating - every member of both our families talked about how impressed they were with how quick, professional, and fun Carmen was in getting all our groups shots! Logistics and stunning finished products aside, Carmen was always just an absolute joy to work with - a positive ray of sunshine, a cheerleader, and the best hype person a person could dream of on their wedding day(s)! THANK YOU CARMEN!

On the day of the wedding, it didn't feel like having a stranger there, it felt like we had another friend with us. And the photographs we've received so far are absolutely stunning. ugh in the photos. My fiance and I are both pretty shy and photos are definitely not our thing. We thought it would be awkward, but Carmen made us feel comfortable and we actually had a blast during the engagement shoot. Also want to add that our engagement (and wedding) photos has been a string of postponements between COVID and weather, but Carmen was super flexible and positive through it all. We first had to postpone our engagement photos in San Diego because of rain, which Carmen was super cool with. She then even drove up to Santa Barbara to meet us halfway (we're from San Francisco) to make sure we got our engagement photos done. 10000% recommend Carmen. Cannot wait for her to shoot our wedding in 2021!

It was a true breath of fresh air. My husband and I are a bit more reserved and shy at first and Carmen was the BEST hype woman ever. I felt like a literal queen and so much is thanks to her. ersonally, I was worried about putting too much pressure on getting a good photo and ending up with a forced smile (picture day was never my thing). But oh my gosh. Carmen made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. After just a few minutes, we forgot about why we were taking photos and just had a fun time. Carmen is so warm and has such a great energy. She is really a professional hype woman who also takes good photos. Because of Covid, the locations my fiancé and I had in mind were not going to work out, but we had to get these photos taken (we already postponed once due to the pandemic). We asked Carmen to choose the locations and she picked a parking structure (what?!) and the dunes at Coronado. This girl knows her stuff. We got our photos about a week after our shoot and they turned out … we were speechless. Not to be dramatic, but she truly captured how in love we are. I had never really seen the way my fiancé looks at me until I was able to see the way we look at each other. I am so happy with our decision to hire Carmen as our photographer and I am so thrilled that she will be the one to capture our wedding day, too.

s our photographer. She is so outgoing and so full of life, which I could just tell from the phone call. We got the package that included our engagement shoot, which I highly recommend.. As I'm sure most couples can relate, we are two awkward humans behind a camera and we didn't feel that way at all with Carmen as our photographer. She is just hilarious and such a joy to be around, which really put us at ease. Might I add that her love for animals is just the best. We had our dog in our engagement photos, which she encourages, and she drove her around all evening. Carmen was also really patient when we needed to keep hopping in her car for some heat during our VERY chilly session. Leading up to our big day, she always responded to emails so quickly, and she helped button up our timeline with our day of coordinator as well. The day of, she just killed it as always, finished photos ahead of schedule, etc. and kept us calm all day/night. What more could you want from the one vendor that is literally by your side the majority of your wedding day? She really is an expert in her field, and she made the entire process easier than we could have imagined. I don't feel the need to go on and on about how amazing her skills are, because you can look at her work and see that for yourself. However, I will say that we were overjoyed at how amazing our photos turned out, and how she captured everything that was important to us. Carmen is a VIBE, and she's the type of person that I want to carry around in my pocket all day. Hiring her as your photographer is one decision you will forever be happy you made!

Before even meeting her, I loved her style of photography - the bold, saturated colors are much more similar to my aesthetic than the light and airy style of a lot of other wedding photographers. And I could tell that she had a great personality and approach, really supporting and building relationships with her clients. Once we met Carmen, I could see that all of that was totally true. Meeting her for the first time and getting in front of the camera was much more comfortable than I could have imagined. She's such a sweetheart and so easy to get along with. The way she gives direction and gets you to have fun and show emotion on the camera is just so effortless and entertaining. I really appreciated getting the chance to work with her before the wedding, because it meant going into it, I knew I had nothing to worry about. Carmen was amazing at the wedding as well - braving the cold February weather in Rhode Island, wrangling a fairly large wedding party, and navigating a pretty tightly organized timeline. There were definitely a lot of shots that I asked for, and Carmen worked hard to make sure I got every one. She truly is an advocate for the couples she works with and will do everything she has to to make your day special! A bonus great thing about Carmen is she knows how much you want to see your photos - I had a few sneak peeks literally the morning after the wedding, and even more about a week later. Rather than making you wait months to see everything, it's great to get the little drip of sneak peeks so you can reminisce on your big day (and get a jump start on thank you notes). TL;DR - Carmen is amazing and if you haven't booked your photographer yet, your search should end right here!

aunting thought if you hate your pictures! There are so many photographers out there with different styles & I had no idea how to even choose one. My wedding coordinator recommended her & after checking out her Instagram I knew she was the right one. She is so sweet & spunky & fun & you can just tell that she LOVES what she does. My husband & I were pretty nervous about our engagement shoot since we had never taken professional pictures before & we don't consider ourselves the most photogenic people out there, BUT carmen changed that. She made us feel so comfortable & we had such a good time with her! She doesn't overly edit the photos which I appreciate.. we still look like us, but just a little bit better! She's easily reachable & super professional! She sends you sneak peaks really soon afterwards which I also appreciate because you can wait forever for photos! Please, please, please do yourself a favor and do not make the mistake I did of booking her for an engagement session and then booking someone else for your wedding BEFORE meeting her. My (now) husband, Dylan, and I had never gotten professional pictures taken of us, and you would never guess because Carmen turned us into models and now our egos are all big, BUT B.C. (before Carmen) we were two awkward people in front of a camera who never took good pictures. Then comes Carmen. Before meeting up with her she told us to bring wine and that was the first good sign. Not only did I have a good time, but Dylan had a good time. This was the only time in Dylan’s history that he could associate taking pictures with having a good time. She made us feel SO comfortable and gave the best instructions for posing us. You know that one good friend who tells you to put your chin down or position yourself differently because they know your good angles? Carmen is THAT friend. Bless her heart because not a lot of photographers will tell you that! Without even seeing the final pictures (besides a handful of previews she gave us throughout the day—ANOTHER good sign because I’ve never heard of a photographer doing that either) we already knew she needed to photograph our wedding, despite having already booked someone else. Thank God Dylan felt the same way because it was the easiest decision for us to eat the deposit of the other photographer, and go with Carmen instead. Fast forward to the wedding day, it was everything we could’ve DREAMED of. Carmen has the most incredible eye. I have a very picky aesthetic and she NAILED IT. Let me just warn you, if you book Carmen, you’re going to come up with every excuse in the book to have another photoshoot with her. That leads me to my next event with Carmen, our after session LOL. You would never think we would request an after session after seeing our amazing wedding pictures, but sometimes you’re your own worst critic and the hairstyle on your wedding day doesn’t look the best from certain angles, or let’s be real, you just want one more session with Carmen because you’re not ready to let her go. Anyways, every fairytale must come to an end. Book Carmen. You won’t regret it. My now husband and I decided to do a trial engagement shoot with her in San Diego, her infectious personality and the way she made us feel like an old friend is what stole our hearts.
