My name is Desiree Wells, I am the Owner and Lead Planner of Carmen Taylor Weddings.
Wedding planning for me started back in 2013, when I started planning our wedding. I truly enjoyed, starting and completing each task while planning. Three years after my own wedding, I began assisting a fellow Wedding Planner, to see if this was something that I wanted to do full time, and I have never regretted that decision, because at that moment, I realized this is what I was made to do.
I confidently made the decision to start my own business, Carmen Taylor Weddings & Events. I am so thankful and honored for the opportunities over the past three years of wedding planning and coordinating experience.
I always get asked where Carmen Taylor originated from, the name was inspired by our two beautiful kids middle names. That is why I have a family picture because this business wouldn't be what is without my support system.
I graduated from Lee University, which is how I ended up in TN. I graduated with a Public Relations degree, which has equipped me to know how to best handle the best to the hardest scenarios that could happen on your wedding day.
Some of my favorite parts of planning, are meeting my clients and hearing your vision. I love accompanying my couples to venue walk-throughs, menu tastings, and cake tastings. I love when we check off planning tasks that I you need to get done, because it means we are getting closer to making the most memorable day happen the way you planned! Lastly I love decorating and taking all the Pinterest inspired pictures that we have shared, and the items you purchased or rented and bringing your wedding décor vision to life.

Desiree also helped us avoid an absolute disaster with our wedding photographer/videographer who forgot to mention they would be unable to show up for our wedding day two weeks before the wedding. First of all, she found the best wedding venue I could have dreamed of and I will be forever grateful. I was never a bride who had any interest in planning a wedding. she was so willing to work with us across time zones and help us find what was right for us. She scheduled regular check-ins with us throughout the planning process and helped guide us through all the details.
We had booked an officiant and two weeks before the wedding they ghosted us, and Desiree was on it within 24 hours finding an alternative officiant to be on standby in case we needed them to step in. We planned an outdoor ceremony and reception, but rain on the day-of prevented that plan from coming to fruition, and Desiree took charge and transformed our plain tent into a magnificent, magical, beautiful reception space. She also helped us get the wedding party re-rehearsed from the outdoor plan to the rain plan since the location had to change, and everything went so smoothly.
From putting out fires, to helping us minimize stress, to keeping us on schedule as much as possible, even kicking people out who weren't supposed to be there while the wedding party was getting ready (seriously, thank you for that), Desiree truly went above and beyond to make our day perfect. We could not have had such an amazing day without her!
