Carmen Taylor Weddings and Events is a wedding planning business based out of Cleveland, TN. My name is Desiree Wells, I am the Owner and Lead Planner of Carmen Taylor Weddings. Wedding planning for me started back in 2013, when I started planning our wedding. I truly enjoyed, starting and completing each task while planning. Three years after my own wedding, I began assisting a fellow Wedding Planner, to see if this was something that I wanted to do full time, and I have never regretted that decision, because at that moment, I realized this is what I was made to do. I confidently made the decision to start my own business, Carmen Taylor Weddings & Events. I am so thankful and honored for the opportunities over the past three years of wedding planning and coordinating experience. I always get asked where Carmen Taylor originated from, the name was inspired by our two beautiful kids middle names. That is why I have a family picture because this business wouldn't be what is without my support system. I graduated from Lee University, which is how I ended up in TN. I graduated with a Public Relations degree, which has equipped me to know how to best handle the best to the hardest scenarios that could happen on your wedding day. Some of my favorite parts of planning, are meeting my clients and hearing your vision. I love accompanying my couples to venue walk-throughs, menu tastings, and cake tastings. I love when we check off planning tasks that I you need to get done, because it means we are getting closer to making the most memorable day happen the way you planned! Lastly I love decorating and taking all the Pinterest inspired pictures that we have shared, and the items you purchased or rented and bringing your wedding décor vision to life.

The best of the best! We were so stressed getting all of our details worked out for our wedding and Desiree saved the day. She picked up on our vision immediately and made everything come together flawlessly. She made the entire process seamless and we will forever be thankful for having her there for our day!

You know you picked a good planner, when every single vendor would either light up or sing her praises whenever we mentioned she was our wedding planner. Love you Desiree! I was very happy to have Desiree on my wedding day! She helped do SO much coordinating and having her make the wedding space beautiful was a huge help. I was grateful to have someone so experienced with weddings be able to give me tips and advice as I was planning. Desiree is amazing! She took care of month of coordination for a friend's wedding and when I began to plan my own wedding I immediately thought of Desiree. Desiree is unbelievably organized and is such a kind and calming presence. She was essential throughout the planning process, communicating with vendors and helping me problem solve when things didn't go as expected. Day of Desiree took care of so many details. Post wedding, I had several family members mention Desiree and how amazing she was in one capacity or another. I cannot recommend Desiree enough! You will not regret working with Desiree and Carmen Taylor Weddings and Events.

Carmen Taylor Weddings and Events coordinated my wedding day and everything went so perfectly!!! Desiree, the main planner, is the most amazing person I worked with during my whole wedding journey. She was SO on top of things all day that I did not have a single ounce of stress & quite literally everything was exactly how I imagined it. Without her our day would not have been as amazing and unforgettable as it was! I will most definitely be recommending her to all my friends who are soon to get engaged.

Desiree is phenomenal- she made our wedding dreams a reality. We live out of state and she helped us to seamlessly plan the wedding of our dreams in Cleveland/Chattanooga. She made everything easy and helped to facilitate all of the Zoom meetings needed prior to the ceremony and had the day-of planned down to the minute! Highly recommend!

I cannot express into words how thankful I am for Desiree Wells. Not only for her expertise and guidance with planning my daughters destination wedding but also for her friendship, which I cherish deeply. Planning my daughters wedding was not an easy task considering my daughter lives in Hawaii, I was living in Maine and the wedding was taking place in Tennessee. Desiree made the entire process peaceful and stress free. I was able to text or call Desiree with any questions or concerns I had and she always had the answer for me. I believe that most families tend to have some type of challenging family dynamics and our family is no exception. Desiree understood the complexity of our situation and handled it with grace. Taylor Jewitt was with us the day of the wedding and made all of my daughters dreams a reality. Taylor is literally an extension of Desiree. She polite, warmhearted and professional in every challenge thrown her way. Which is EXACTLY what I needed for my daughters wedding planner. Taylor knew all of the small important details my daughter wanted for her wedding and she made sure everything was executed and delivered exactly as expected. I am so thankful I was able to find Desiree and Events by Carmen Taylor. All of our guests said this was the warmest and most stress free wedding they had ever attended. I have Desiree and Taylor to thank for that.

We booked Desiree as our day-of coordinator and she was so helpful in making sure our wedding day went smoothly! We booked her about a year before our wedding and she was great about checking in periodically and giving us recommendations for any vendors we still needed (which was particularly helpful for us since we weren’t from the area). She answered all of my random questions and made sure our wedding was exactly what we envisioned! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding coordinator!

Desiree was an amazing wedding planner! If it wouldn’t have been for her I know things wouldn’t have gone nearly as well as they did! She went above and beyond to help make our day perfect! She was always available for questions (trust me I had many). She was able to give insight on vendors, a wedding timeline, and much more. Desiree also helped us avoid an absolute disaster with our wedding photographer/videographer who forgot to mention they would be unable to show up for our wedding day two weeks before the wedding. With her help we were able to find the perfect vendors to replace the original ones. My husband and I always say she was the the best decision we made when wedding planning!

Desiree was my life saver! This was easily the best decision I made all of wedding planning. Not only did I and my now husband love and adore her but everyone else couldn’t stop raving about how amazing she was! She was on top of everything yet had this amazing and such needed sense of peace on the whole day. I never had to worry if Des had it under control. She kept me sane! I loved working with her too because it felt like I was working with a friend. Our phone calls, meetings, and more were something I looked forward to. She helped and reminded me take moments to breathe and enjoy the big day. If I didn’t have her I think I would’ve been a chaotic mess haha. The things that mattered to me about the wedding also really mattered to her and that made me feel so good. We love love love Desiree and I’m so proud to forever be a Carmen Taylor Bride!

Desiree was the best to work with! I was so busy during my wedding season but she continuously checked on me and handled anything + everything I needed done. She also made sure the day went smoothly and gracefully handled the schedule changes that had to be made due to extenuating circumstances the day of. She even came out and danced with us at the reception — it felt like she was part of our family! We couldn’t have made it through the day without her! 10/10 recommend!

There are not enough words for how thankful I am that Desiree planned the wedding. We gave her just over 4 months to create the perfect event with our unique requests and location. First of all, she found the best wedding venue I could have dreamed of and I will be forever grateful. I was never a bride who had any interest in planning a wedding. All I wanted to do was buy a pretty dress and walk down the aisle. That is not what happened (surprise), but Desiree worked really hard with my family pull off a glorious day. I mean she found every vendor and coordinated everything. The photographer, the flowers, the venue made for beautiful pictures and special memories. I loved Desiree flexibility and organization. I am super thankful that wedding planners exist and I was blessed to work with Desiree. I recommend Carmen Taylor Weddings and Events.

Five stars is not enough!!!! Desiree is a rock star and we can't thank her enough for everything she did leading up to and on the day of our wedding. We live on the west coast and she was so willing to work with us across time zones and help us find what was right for us. She scheduled regular check-ins with us throughout the planning process and helped guide us through all the details. We had booked an officiant and two weeks before the wedding they ghosted us, and Desiree was on it within 24 hours finding an alternative officiant to be on standby in case we needed them to step in. We planned an outdoor ceremony and reception, but rain on the day-of prevented that plan from coming to fruition, and Desiree took charge and transformed our plain tent into a magnificent, magical, beautiful reception space. She also helped us get the wedding party re-rehearsed from the outdoor plan to the rain plan since the location had to change, and everything went so smoothly. From putting out fires, to helping us minimize stress, to keeping us on schedule as much as possible, even kicking people out who weren't supposed to be there while the wedding party was getting ready (seriously, thank you for that), Desiree truly went above and beyond to make our day perfect. We could not have had such an amazing day without her!

I don't even know where to start with Desiree because there are simply too many good things to say! I was a long distance bride, with lots of anxiety about my wedding. She gave me so many local options to choose from for catering, photography, makeup, and everything else. She stayed on top of giving me reminders and making sure we were on track with the wedding timeline. My wedding was truly more beautiful than I could have imagined thanks to her and her vision that she made come to life. It was seamless, and she thought of everything, and made me feel so special through the entire experience!

Where to even begin on the most thoughtful, detail oriented, kind, hilarious, hard working woman that is Desiree Wells! My wedding would not have happened without her attention to every detail! Her wealth of experience was so evident every time we talked and I am so grateful that she was a part of our wedding day! Not only is she relatable and so so so easy to talk to, but she went above and beyond for us in every way! Our wedding day was flawless and I owe every bit of that to Desiree! We chose Carmon Taylor Weddings to be our wedding corrdinator and wow am I thankful for Desiree! We decided to get married at our family property that needed A LOT of work in a short amount of time. Desiree stepped in and helped cast a vision for the property while also managing the logistics every little thing. Desiree went above and beyond to meet with us and ensure she was allowing everything to run smoothly. The day turned out amazing thanks to Desiree as she made sure that we stayed on time, that we were all in good spirits, that we ate a meal at the reception, and that we had plenty of time to dance. From dreaming and planning, to set up and clean up Desiree was the best teammate and a proven professional! 10/10 would recommend :)))

I literally cannot say enough great things about Desiree! I needed help with planning my destination wedding and after looking through some of the vendors on The Knot, I spoke with Desiree and her and I instantly cliqued! She immediately made me feel like we have been lifelong friends – and now we will be :) She was so easy to work with and on top of everything. The day flowed seamlessly for us because of her. She was always quick to respond, and helped me through all of my stresses up until the wedding so that I had zero things to worry about on my wedding day. She was always on top of our timeline, from making sure everything was booked timely prior to the wedding, and then running according to schedule the day off. Since we weren’t local, she even recommended some great vendors to us that we were very pleased with as well! She is simply the best, and without her I wouldn’t have been able to make my dream wedding vision come true! Des is the reason why I have nothing but joyful memories of my wedding day. I originally said "oh, I can do this without a wedding planner, no problem." And like a couple weeks later when I realized how INCREDIBLY wrong I was, I found Des :) Des took care of everything. She was so good about communicating, reminding us of deadlines, helping to locate vendors (especially when COVID obliterated our original venue plan), and was willing to be the "bad guy" with vendors or family to make sure problems didn't reach me and my fiancé. She made our day go off without a hitch (at least as far as we know, because if there was a problem she handled it!), and even made sure we had a goodie bag of snacks. Not only this, but she was also just such a warm and funny presence to have through a pretty stressful time. She means business and gets the job done, but she's also just fun to have around. I can't recommend Desiree and Carmen Taylor Weddings highly enough. 10/10 would recommend, brides. Best money I've ever spent in my life!!!!

Desiree was a god sent for our last minute elopement that we planned in Gatlinburg. She was able to pull the wedding together in three weeks and was on top of it the entire time. There was not a moment where I had to worry about a single detail and she was always available whenever I needed her.

My now husband and I chose Carmen Taylor Weddings & Events as our last minute day of coordinator! Our original plan was to do everything ourselves and we got about 2 weeks out from the wedding and decided we couldn’t handle the stress anymore. Desiree at Carmen Taylor Weddings stepped in 2 weeks before the wedding and brought the entire thing together with very little time to do so! Desiree went above and beyond and worked so hard to make this one of the best days of our life and we can’t thank her enough! Desiree is an honest christian woman who first led our marriage with prayer and for that we are forever greatful! Thank you Desiree from Mr. & Mrs. Posey!
