Carolina Getaway Cabins

The WORST experience I’ve ever had renting!! GO ELSEWHERE! Nothing but overcharged and hassled. We recently booked this cabin for our wedding party to stay at for two nights, since this location was fairly close to our venue and could easily accommodate the number of people staying. They say it rents for $1,050 / night but they also charge you based on how many people you have coming, which I’ve never heard of before and nowhere on their listing does it disclose that information. They also charged us to have additional family members over just for dinner after the rehearsal (once dinner was over they left). Though their listing does say “Events must be pre-approved”, eating meals during a stay at any location has always been a given and included in the listed nightly rental price. When we initially made the reservation, we clearly indicated that we were interested in using that location for some members of the wedding party. When we made the reservation only 13 people were interested in staying, which is what we included in our reservation. No one contacted us during the grace period to go over any of this, so we were unable to cancel without incurring a monetary penalty, no one contacted us about any of this until the week of the wedding, when it was too late to make alternative plans or reservations elsewhere. When I asked why they were charging us for having additional family over for dinner, they said that they charge extra for weddings hosted there, which can be understood as an event, and since people staying there were in town for a wedding that they were calling it an event. They’ve lied on multiple occasions and made us feel like we couldn’t enjoy our stay at the cabin.
