Hello! I'm Jen and I've been documenting weddings and families for a decade. I've lived in Charleston for almost 20 years and left cube life at The Office behind to take advantage of playing outside more and making something lasting. There are so many fantastic wedding venues around Charleston! Historic venues, elegant gardens, waterfront lookouts, magnificent trees. I look forward to hearing about your plans. Cheers to 2018!

eceived a response from Jen. She took the time to really get to know me and my wedding plans, and we ended up scheduling an engagement photo session, too (which also turned perfect!). She was so accommodating-- we had to reschedule the engagement session because of a hurricane, but she worked with us to find the perfect time, and we instantly felt comfortable and relaxed when we met Jen. This was really important to me because I tend to look super awkward if I know there is a camera around, but she was so much fun to work with that I felt at ease the whole time.
This helped a lot on our wedding day, too! We had an small garden ceremony in the courtyard of our family home, and Jen captured our vision of our intimate gathering so beautifully. For the reception, we just wanted to have a fun dinner with those closest to us, and she nailed that, too! We are so glad we Jen was there, and she really understood how we wanted to remember our special day!

Jen’s easy-going personality made us immediately comfortable from the start, and we were impressed by her professional portfolio and the creative way she captured special moments and scenery with natural light. She flowed easily with all the types of shots we wanted at both our engagement session and wedding, shared our same appreciation for the gorgeous lowcountry outdoors, and captured our special moments and the natural landscapes just beautifully! Looking back at our wedding album is like seeing a fairytale wedding unfold through her photographs. She not only captured the mood, energy and overall highlights of our wedding at McLeod Plantation, she also captured all the small details that we had worked so hard to plan and perfect! When it came time to see the finished products, she happily did some additional editing of this one or that one for me at my request as well. Jen made us feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. Her personality is infectious... she had my whole family laughing and having fun in no time! and is good at directing, but not forcing you into overly posed pictures (although I'm sure if that is what you want she can make that work also-we just decided that wasn't our style). She really allowed us to feel comfortable and like she was just a friend tagging along with us.
She has gone above and beyond since, helping me to get a last minute canvas for our engagement party, and providing the pictures very quickly after she edited them!
We had such a hard time choosing from so many wonderful pictures for our Save the Date- and we have gotten SO many compliments on them since they have gone out.
All in all, Jennifer has been wonderful, and I have no doubt she will continue to be. She will not disappoint!

and more than that, photographs of her work that she showed us were incredible.
She assured us she would capture not just the "traditional shots" but also the "moments" that we wouldn't even know we would want documented until after it was all over. Now that we have seen all of our photos this is true - looking back at them we can hear the music and feel the breeze of the night! Our budget only allowed us to have one photographer (Jen) and because we didn't have a second shooter we were nervous that everything would not be captured. This was not the case - Jen was EVERYWHERE on the night of the event and was outgoing and fun with our guests. She made everyone feel comfortable which made the smiles in the photos even bigger!
We cannot say enough about great comments about Jen - she is professional, responsive, easy to work with, fun, funny and hiring her for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. The woman is fun, focused, quiet, and doesn't take it too seriously, all at the same time. The day of, Jen was early and she rolled with the punches (yep, it rained on my wedding day so I didn't want to walk around before the wedding and Jen changed up the plan and took all my pics in the church which I was much more comfortable with)! Jen did very well rounding up my crazy crew and went along with all our suggestions and request (like when my husband wanted to take a picture with his guy friends on a random police car..).

She captured the romance, laughter, and beauty of both our relationship and the surrounding environment. Our friends and family gave numerous compliments about the photos. Our wedding was held at Magnolia Plantation in Charleston. Unfortunately, it rained a bit, but Jen still managed to get plenty of memorable photographs. In fact, some of my favorites were of the ladies with their parasols trying not to ruin their hair! Jen captured every moment I wanted to remember plus more. I imagine there aren't many photographers out there who would have been so gracious and calming in that situation, and I'm so glad she was the one behind the camera that day! wedding venue and reception time before even arriving. We got married at an inn that backed on a marsh and the beach. She suggested perfect times to get pictures on each. We have pictures of us in a sunset over the marsh, as well as gorgeous beach photos with beautiful light.
