Regina from Carolyn Dempsey Design inc was wonderful to work with! As someone who is not well-versed in florals and design, she was able to take the vision I had in my head and bri...
ng it to life. She is incredibly creative and easy to work with, and has incredibly reasonable prices for the New York City area. Our chuppah was truly something of my dreams, and she made our vision of being seated at our main bar rather than our sweetheart table come to life.
We are so happy that Regina decorated our wedding, and would highly recommend her!
Reviewing Carolyn Dempsey Design (CDD) is one of the hardest reviews to write because we had a 2-day Indian/American wedding and our decorations on the second day totally blew us a...
way, but we were hugely disappointed by the decorations on the first day and not pleased with how it was handled by the team at Carolyn Dempsey. We worked with Regina from CDD and from our very first meeting with her we knew she understood our vision and could help us bring it to life. However, the first day of our wedding was our Indian ceremony which was held outside and the beautiful flower-covered mandap we had helped Regina design was knocked over by the wind 30 minutes before our ceremony started. The team was fully aware of the what the weather would be that day and told us it would still be fine to have our ceremony outdoors. Yet the entire structure fell apart anyway, and with little time to fix it, the team put together very minimal greenery to hang behind us and that was it. We are very fortunate it didn’t fall apart in the middle of the ceremony on top of us and our priest. We had no choice but to move forward with the way they fixed it because we couldn’t keep our guests waiting, but when we contacted CDD after the wedding they said they weren’t responsible for the weather or for reimbursing us even though the décor we had paid for was nothing close to what we actually received. My husband’s family were also extremely disappointed that our Indian ceremony looked nothing like it was supposed to as the mandap has a lot of cultural significance in Indian ceremonies (similar to a Chuppah in Jewish ceremonies). I was also disappointed to find out that Regina had already left when the mandap fell apart even though we were told that she offers full-service design and would not leave our wedding either day until we were completely satisfied with everything; I actually only saw her once over the 2 days so her full-service promise was not true at all. Despite the complete disaster on the first day, everything on our second day was beautiful. We had our American ceremony indoors in front of a stunning floral arch and then moved into the ballroom where our mix of high and low centerpieces totally transformed the room. The floral décor on the second day was everything I had dreamed of so I know that Regina and the rest of the staff at CDD are still very talented at what they do and I’m so appreciative of the work they did that day. We got a ton of compliments from our guests on how beautiful everything looked. The only hiccup we had on Saturday was that most of our escort cards for the reception went missing because Regina hadn’t stayed to put them out for us as she had agreed to and the venue had to do it instead and apparently lost half of them, but the venue staff were more than happy to direct guests to their seats to make up for it. All in all, Regina and the team at Carolyn Dempsey Design are very good at what they do in terms of floral design and their indoor and reception décor are absolutely stunning. But beware of using them for outdoor events and know that they will likely not take any responsibility if something goes wrong.
Daniel with Carolyn Dempsey Design created the most magnificent and magical evening for our daughter’s wedding. First at the Temple he created a Chuppah that was beautiful and then...
at the country club he designed a flower wall that welcomed our guests and a dining room that took our breath away. Our guests are still talking about it a week later saying it was the most beautiful affair they have ever been to.
More than any design element is his kind nature, patience and true desire to fulfill every dream you have for the evening while being truthful and realistic with whatever your budget is. We have used Daniel in the past and would chose him again and again. In fact, we would like to make another party just to see what he would create next!
I worked with Daniel Joyner, who was previously of Daniel Florals and Events. First, Daniel is wonderful to work with. He fully understood my vision and ran with it. He was also ex...
tremely negotiable and willing to work with my admittedly very limited budget. Our flowers were absolutely stunning. We had a mix of high and low centerpieces on the tables, with the same high centerpieces at the beginning of our aisle and some elements of the low centerpieces going down the aisle as well. Our chuppah had a birch pole sort of look with flowers across the top. I found Daniel because our venue required we use one of their three recommended florists and by process of elimination Daniel was my choice (the others were too expensive or too canned and predictable). I am SO happy with his work. To be honest, working with Daniel is best if you have a vision and an idea, but are not overly specific or particular. Some things we discussed did get changed in the final execution but ended up being gorgeous just the same and still matched the look I was going for. My bouquet was so beautiful I asked a family member to help me get it preserved! I'd recommend Daniel Joyner and Carolyn Dempsey to anyone, not just those at my venue, and hope to have the chance to work with him again!
The team at Carolyn Dempsey Design created the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen! Their creativity, attention to detail and thoughtfulness surpassed all of my expectations. T...
hey even picked me up at the Port Chester train station - in the rain - on the day of my floral demo. I was so happy the day of my wedding when I saw all of the flowers and decor items set up - they turned out to be even more beautiful than I had pictured. The planning process was easy and organized and the team was very responsive to my (often annoying) questions throughout. I wish I could do my wedding again in slow motion just so I could have time to look at all of the decor closely again :)
