If you are looking for a gallery full of emotionless, overly posed, static, staring-at-the-camera images, I'm probably not the photographer for you. Now that I got that out of the way… I’m a photographer, a mom, a wife, a snowboarder, a surfer, a roller coaster enthusiast, a college instructor, and a former mechanical engineer. I also earned my Ph.D. in Education (but you don’t have to call me Dr.)! I have an extremely short attention span, am addicted to wearing beanies, and am fueled by chai tea. I'm socially awkward most of the time I'm in public, and I make weird faces when I concentrate to take photos. I dress for comfort and for rolling around on the ground, standing in creeks, and climbing into trees to capture the best angles for my photographs — but I do clean up well on wedding days! I'm real. I love clients who are real. I want my photos to reflect our real-ness. I believe in doing things because you want to, and because your heart and soul are telling you to, not because society says you should. I don't shoot images to get them published on blogs or to win awards; I shoot images so that my incredible clients can relive smiles, laughs, and tears for as long as they live. (Don't get me wrong, my work is blog-worthy and award-worthy — those are just not priorities of mine.) I love that life is unscripted, and I love capturing that for my clients. I want to provide you with beautiful, emotion-filled images for your walls, so that on tough days (you know the ones I’m talking about - when you get into a fight with your spouse or your kids, or you have a bad day at work) you look lovingly upon our images and remember what is REALLY important in life. I’ve lived in Pennsylvania, California, and Japan; I’ve traveled across the US, and to Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Canada, New Zealand, Haiti, Czech Republic, and Germany. I’ve created amazing photographs in all of those places, capturing images and freezing memories for a lifetime. What I’ve found, though, is that nothing gives me more joy than using my talent and “eye” to capture fleeting moments for others. Please reach out to me if you think we might make a great team!

Carrie is the absolute BEST! I would highly recommend snagging Carrie for your wedding if you have the chance. What they say about the wedding day flying by is true, so it’s incredibly important to have someone behind the camera that can capture each and every important moment. Carrie is dedicated to photographing everything you deem important while also capturing the emotion behind each snapshot. We have so many wonderful images from the previews alone, I can’t recommend Carrie enough!

Carrie is an absolutely wonderful, down to earth, and committed photographer. When she let us know that she was dealing with some medical problems of her own, we were sad that she might not be able to come photograph our wedding. She was able to get the support of another photographer, and she still came for the beginning of the wedding!! We have gotten so many complements about how beautiful our preview photos are after the wedding! We couldn’t be happier and hope Carrie continues on a speedy recovery so she can get back out there and continue to capture other couples beautiful memories. She was an absolute rockstar, and we would recommend her to any upcoming wedding/ event! PS: Carrie, Aly and Bill were incredible!

We loved working with Carrie! Her pictures stood out to us immediately while we were doing our research and we are so glad we chose her. She herself unfortunately could not be at our wedding, but this was no problem since she sent a photographer who has the same style. It was awesome to have Brian at our wedding! He was creative, really worked with the decor and was just fun to have around. I've had TONS of compliments on the pictures and so many guests asked me who the photographer was. We will enjoy these pictures, which really captured the essence of our wedding, for the rest of our lives :)

We can never truly say enough wonderful things about Carrie, or express how incredibly grateful we are to have had her as our wedding photographer. From our initial video call, we knew we had found the right person to photograph our wedding. Our personalities clicked immediately. When we met in person for our engagement session at Longwood Gardens, it was like meeting up with a friend. We had so much fun and created such beautiful memories and photos. When our session ended, we wished we had an excuse to see Carrie again before our wedding because we had enjoyed our time with her so much. In the weeks leading up to our long-awaited day, we filled out a very detailed questionnaire Carrie had provided to ensure she knew who to photograph and when, and what we as a couple prioritized on our wedding day. From this information she created a perfect day-of timeline. On our wedding day, we were both a bundle of nerves, but when Carrie and her second photographer Bill arrived, we instantly felt at ease. Working with them felt so natural and comfortable. They kept us on time, but even more importantly, they kept us laughing and relaxed. Our final gallery had us speechless. Carrie’s editing style is truly so unique and beautiful. She captured the emotions of our wedding day perfectly. We are forever thankful to have met and worked with Carrie. She is a hugely talented photographer, and so incredibly kind, passionate, and fun.

Where do I even begin? Carrie is the absolute BEST! My fiancé and I had the pleasure of working with her for our engagement shoot. She captured so many beautiful memories that we will be able to cherish for the rest of our lives. She has a magical way of finding the perfect angle, lighting and expressions. Carrie is so responsive, easy to work with and FUN. If you are looking for a wedding photographer- look no further. 10/10 recommend! Looking forward to working with her more for our big day!

Carrie was so fun to work with and created the most amazing photos for us! She not only made us feel comfortable and relaxed while taking the photographs, but she also gave us some of our favorite photos that we've ever had together! I (the one who was proposed to) had *no* clue my fiancé-to-be was hiring a photographer for these special moments, but if you only KNEW the amount of effort Carrie and Justin (my fiancé) went to when a blizzard hit and literally destroyed all their plans.... my god. She was there before we were, and got an incredible array of beautiful and intimate photos of us getting engaged in front of this insanely decorated Christmas house, in the snow, in 20 degrees. She suggested another holiday location that we also went to for more shots, and I just cannot express how grateful we are for the lengths she went to for these magical memories we will never forget.

Carrie is absolutely amazing!! We booked her for our engagement shoot and wedding. We just did our engagement shoot and the pictures are wonderful. I am obsessed with every single one. Her work is outstanding and she has a great eye for capturing the perfect shot. She is easy to work with and makes the experience fun!! My fiancé and I are not really photo people and Carrie made it a breeze and great day.

I was looking for a wedding photographer for my sons wedding reception and Carrie’s portfolio looked magical. I live 2,000 miles away and she did such a great job working with me long distance. She was so reliable, professional, and yet down to earth. Everyone was so comfortable with her. The highlight of our experience with Carrie was of course the photographs - they were amazing! She captured the love, tears and joy of the day! What a great experience!

First of all - Carrie is so cool. She has such a genuine, go-with-the-flow, warm personality. Her shooting style (IMO) is much more candid rather than poses which I love - but she does do some great posing work! We've seen our engagement shoot highlight reel and each photo was stunning. She really has a natural eye for framing shots and knowing what's going to look good. She also gets genuinely excited to be there with you and will do anything to get the perfect shot - even if it means getting her hands dirty, for example; laying on the ground, standing on things, breaking thru spider webs hahaha she's great. Carrie also has a coupe different editing styles which is what initially drew me to her. She can do both light & airy photos as well as a deeper, moodier style which is what I was looking for (and surprisingly not many wedding photographers offer). 3000% happy with my choice to go with Carrie & I can't wait to work with her on my wedding day! xoxo

I would recommend Carrie to anyone looking for a photographer for wedding and/or engagement pictures! We love our engagement photos and our sneak peek of our wedding pictures. She does great work and is very easy to work with! She definitely had a great eye for different lightning shots! We are looking forward to using her in the future.

Carrie is wonderfully responsive, detail oriented, creative, and personable!! from our first Skype session, i knew she was the perfect choice for us! She totally listened to what I wanted, and when we met for our engagement shoot she was super creative and adventurous which made for some awesome photos. Her husband/assistant, Mako, was also super funny and made it feel like we were hanging out with friends. I can't wait for our wedding photos!

We absolutely adored the photos Carrie took for our Wedding. They were fabulous! Carrie was super easy to work with, fun, lots of energy, full of ideas for great photos! We loved her wedding photos so much we decided to use her for our maternity photos and will be using her yet again for family photos in a couple weeks.

When I was looking for photographers for our wedding, I didn't know where to start. It's hard to not personally know any photographers and commit to one. But when we came across Carrie's Instagram... it was easy! Chris and I got married Saturday and Carrie was truly a dream. She was so sweet and made us feel comfortable beginning to end, even just via email. She's already shown so many amazing previews that we are so in love with I cannot wait to see all the final pictures. Thankful to have met Carrie and gained her not only as a sick photographer, but our friend.

Carrie could not have been more approachable, professional, or attentive. We knew we were in good hands the whole way through the process. Her POV is next level, she brought her creativity and her A game. Unfortunately it poured buckets on our big day, but Carrie went above and beyond to offer us a separate shoot so we could get some outdoor pics. Hands down, Carrie is the best. Quality start to finish. Head to toe.

Carrie is an a amazing photographer - so much so that we flew her down to Florida to shoot our wedding after seeing her work at a friend's wedding in Pennsylvania. She is everywhere all at once and has such an eye for natural lighting and the 'perfect shot'. We cannot recommend her enough.

Carrie was absolutely wonderful and the best we could have asked for out of a photographer! Even though we couldn't meet in person beforehand as she usually would like, we were able to meet via Skype, calls, and e-mails multiple times to plan out everything - she was very knowledgeable, professional, and her experience was very apparent from the first moment we talked. Her questions and planning helped immensely not only with the photos but with thoughts around our ceremony and schedule for our day. And the photos...they were gorgeous! Better than anything we could have hoped for, we were blown away by the quality, types of shots, and quick turn-around time. As a same-sex wedding, we were particularly careful around making sure our vendors were comfortable not just with us and the ceremony but the racial, gender, and sexual diversity of our family and friends - Carrie felt like part of our larger friend group and was amazing to work with in this regard as well. We always felt extremely comfortable, supported, and she just has an amazing energy to her that knows how to capture both general shots and some with a more artistic flair to them while feeling like part of the celebration. She was up and moving the entire time and more than earned every penny we spent. We seriously could not recommend her enough - our day would not have been the same without her involvement and we're forever grateful for her.

Carrie was absolutely wonderful! We spoke with each other several times before the big day, and her insight, planning, questions, and advice were all extremely helpful in making the whole process much easier. She took all of our requests into account, and she really captured the essence of our event. All of her work is amazing, and she got it back to us much more quickly than expected. Many friends and family members have commented not just on the great quality of her photos, but on how she really captured some wonderful moments. She was moving the whole time she was there to get both the standard shots we really wanted and some very artistic shots from interesting angles and spots around our venue and the local area. Plus she made us and all our guests with very varied racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual identities very comfortable. She was warm, friendly, and fun, while at the same time being very practical and knowledgeable. She was very much the professional, and we can't recommend her enough!

We have been following Carrie Kizuka Photography on facebook for years admiring her artistic eye when it comes to wedding photos. My wife and I knew when we got engaged that there was only one wedding photographer for us. We contacted Carrie to get her open dates before ever looking at venue. Her entire process from the time we picked her to our wedding day was a partnership. She wanted to know what we wanted from her on that day. She always took the extra time to explain things and was more than generous with her time. On our big day, she showed up early to scope out the best spot for pictures. She captured the details so perfectly. She also captured the ceremony and reception flawlessly. I would hire her again in a second.

Carrie has been AMAZING to work with! Our engagement photos turned out absolutely perfectly and she was more than happy to work with our two crazy dogs as well. She is prompt with her responses and very helpful with all of our questions. She also has been extremely accommodating for all of our last minute changes for the wedding day. Carrie is truly an amazing artist and one of the kindest souls out there! Her AMAZING photos captured our special day to perfection! Working with Carrie was wonderful - she was really enjoyable to be around, put everyone at ease, and took AMAZING pictures of our wedding. She was responsive in the lead up to the wedding (so she was well prepared on the day and already knew what we wanted) and totally willing to work with us on our budget/timeframe to make a package that worked for us. Most importantly, the photographs are everything I could dream. I have so many friends who have wedding photo regrets, but ours are wonderful and I wouldn't change a thing - I would recommend Carrie to anyone. If we ever have another big event, we will definitely use her!

If you look at Carrie’s photography, reading this review is unnecessary. Her work truly speaks for itself. Carrie has taken our engagement and wedding photos. I love sharing them with family and friends, because more times than not, their reaction includes a *Gasp!* “who took these?!”, and I have the pleasure of showing off the amazing photographer who captured all those moments. Not only is her work stunning, but her personality all the same. She is a complete joy to be around and will make you feel right at home in front of her lens. TLDR: Hire Carrie. You will NOT regret it. She is Exceptional, Professional, and delivers pristine photos. She is extremely friendly and has a wonderful personality. She and photographers she hires will do an amazing job capturing your wedding day. Let me begin by stating. Carrie is a champion of photographers. A small backstory. We had a major issue with our lodging the night before the wedding which destroyed our plans for getting ready, and the time for the photos. Carrie was wonderful in her level of understanding and flexibility with the schedule change and location change for getting ready. She worked extremely well and professionally with a bi-lingual family. She has a wonderful personality and sense of humor making the picture taking process seem like a breeze. Her eye for style was amazing. My wife and I reviewed 1500+ pictures the night we received them and were pleased with 100% of the pictures quality, color edits, style of shots, and more. We opted to have a second photographer which was fantastic and highly recommended. She was polite throughout the entire process and patient with out families request to have many many family shots. Additionally what makes her service extremely unique and wonderful was her willingness to help us afterwards with personal family requests. her responsiveness and compassion in this regard makes her a wonderful photographer beyond anything we could have expected.

Carrie was so great to work with! She walked a couple miles of trails with us on a HOT day while letting us have our intimate/special moments. Her vision captured all our candid moments perfectly. She also has an eye for placement for the perfect scenery on the portrait photos. We couldn't be happier! Highly recommended!!
