My husband and I had tried several highly recommended BBQ caterer/restaurants in the Washington, D.C. area for our wedding caterer. On two separate occasions, we had previously taken our best man and maid of honor to their restaurant to sample our choice for the wedding caterer. They both enjoyed the unofficial "tasting" of pulled pork, pit ham, pit beef, brisket, and the many sides. They both agreed that Carterque was a great selection for the wedding. On the actual day of the wedding in October 2021, Carterque's staff was lead by Colleen and arrived on time for setup. We ordered BBQ Chicken, Pit Smoked Ham, Macaroni and Cheese, Red Potato Salad, and Garden Salad. Carterque was able to accommodate the need for several children's menus and even provided vegetarian options for our vegetarian guests. (The luckiest wedding guest may have been the vegetarian who got to take home most of the vegetarian sausage leftovers.) They decorated the tables nicely and worked well with our volunteers to complete the hall decoration. The food was enjoyed by everyone and my wife and I have been back subsequently for other meals (which involved driving 45 minutes from our home). Carterque even set up a s'mores station for our guests, which they had not done prior to our event and manned the firepit. Colleen not only directed the staff, but also served as our bartender. We were only able to provide her with one written recipe for our two signature cocktails, as one was an old favorite from graduate school late nights. I relayed the basic recipe on the fly and the Godiva hot chocolate was a big hit. We highly recommend Carterque for any BBQ catering to any of our friends. Pro Tip: Contacting Colleen can be difficult, and we'd recommend calling earlier in the week as they're typically less busy.

We used Carterque for our food/catering at our wedding. They provided the most amazing food and the most amazing service possible. All of my guests commented that we had the best wedding food ever! The Carterque staff is very hardworking and extremely professional. Everyone at this establishment went above and beyond to make our day super special. I received great service from my first phone call and email to my last email after the wedding. I highly recommend Carterque to anyone wanting great food and an absolutely carefree day.

Colleen and the CarterQue staff were professional and extremely helpful through the entire event. They not only provided perfect service to all guests, but were communicative to us (and our wedding day POC) that helped us navigate the day. We signed a contract with Collen in 2019 and she was very accommodating during such a trying time, and worked with my husband and I as we had to make multiple changes due to the Pandemic. We would highly recommend anyone even browsing through CarterQue’s vendor page to contact them and hire them. Hiring CarterQue was one of the best vendors and decisions we made for our wedding. If my husband and I could give more than five stars we would!

CarterQue BBQ catered our wedding and we have been getting an endless stream of compliments from guests, both about the delicious food and the super charismatic and helpful staff. The dinner was easily the best barbecue we've EVER had! Their sauces are to die for. The mac 'n cheese was so creamy and I could have gone back for thirds or fourths. Just as important to us - their staff was so incredibly kind and professional. They prioritized our comfort above all else – saving us popular treats that were going fast, accommodating guests’ dietary needs with grace, and even checking in on us to ensure we wanted for nothing! When they asked whether there was anything we needed, they truly meant it and were ready to assist at all times. However, we never had to take them up on this offer because they thought of everything before we even had a chance to ask!!! We could not have dreamed of a better team or menu for our special day. We will absoLUTEly be visiting CarterQue frequently to relive those memories and treat ourselves to amazing food! Don't hesitate to check them out - trust me!

We hired CarterQue to cater our wedding and could not have been more pleased! Colleen and her team were professional, friendly, and kind during the entire process. The food was excellent - we got so many compliments. When the pandemic hit and we had to postpone our May wedding until October, Colleen worked with us. She was always prompt in her communications, answered all of our questions, and made suggestions for us to consider as well. You can tell she’s experienced at this and it was so nice to have someone so competent and organized working behind the scenes for us. On our wedding day, her team was phenomenal. CarterQue had COVID rules in place and we were so happy with everything they did in order to help keep everyone safe. Not to mention, this place is a great value for the quality of food you are getting. I would not hesitate to recommend them for your wedding!

My husband and I used Carterque for our wedding this past August after enjoying their food and eating at their restaurant for years! We were very pleased with the food as well as the service our their team, and also hired bartenders through them for the bar. We really liked that we could provide our own plates, napkins, flatware, cups and alcohol and mixers for the bar - which helped save money and allowed us to make everything more personalized! We got so many compliments on the food from our guests, and really enjoyed getting to bring all the leftovers home to freeze and keep enjoying for a while!

Colleen and her team are amazing! They do it all and the food is incredible, so many of the guests were raving about it! Colleen was so helpful along the way with questions, she really could be a wedding planner. The staff were dressed appropriately and were very professional. The bartender was great and had no issues with transferring the bar location from cocktail hour to the reception area (this was discussed prior to the day). I loved up-scaling the amazing buffet BBQ (fabulous presentation) with the china package to have a fancier feel. Go ahead and do yourself a favor, reach out to them!

Colleen is phenomenal! She was very thorough during our first tasting and was very communicative throughout the wedding planning process. Now our friends ask if Carterque is catering whenever we host a party.

Our food was SO GOOD!! Our first visit with Carterque, we were able to go try all of the options so that we could pick what would be best for us and our guests. The assisted in setting up the reception space and moving chairs from the ceremony to the reception. They set up exactly the way we discussed. They took our orders in advance so that while our guests when through the buffet line, we could stay seated and eat. They were very detail oriented and organized. They even gifted us a bottle of our favorite BBQ sauce, Blackberry Grilling Sauce (delicious!!). We live out of state, so all of our communication was through email. Colleen was very patient with us and had everything we wanted/needed. We plan on going back to Carterque every time we are up there so we can order their yummy food, delicious BBQ sauce, and relive a small part of our wedding day! We would book them again in a second.

Carterque did a great job with our wedding on 4/27/19. They were professional, kind and accommodating throughout the planning process and made all of our requests a happen. They were instrumental in the setup at the venue and the dinner area looked amazing! The food itself was delicious and guests really enjoyed it! I can’t get enough of their Mac & Cheese and the pulled pork! The staff was very professional and helpful day of as well. I can’t thank Colleen and everyone with Carterque enough for making our wedding a great day!

The Black Raspberry sauce is to die for! CarterQue has so many great options to choose from and our guests were thoroughly pleased. Not only is their food great, but the staff on site were amazing, including their bartender. It also helped that they have worked a lot with the venue we chose, which made our lives so much easier. Colleen was great to work with, as well!

Colleen and her staff are simply amazing! They ask thoughtful questions and take care of everything. They even drove out to our venue before the wedding to see it and make sure our plan for everything would work. Following our ceremony, they greeted the bridal party with apps and water which were much appreciated on a very hot day! We couldn’t have been happier with their service, professionalism, and quality of food. We received so many compliments from our guests regarding the food!

Carterque was phenomenal! I can’t say enough good things about Colleen and her staff. Colleen was incredibly helpful and very thorough in building a plan for our wedding day. The food was to die for and we got so many compliments from our guests during and after the reception. Clean up was flawless thanks to the proactive efforts of the Carterque staff as our guests were leaving. Check them out, you won’t be disappointed!!

Talk about great food, lots of options and friendly service. Unfortunately we had a bunch of people cancel at the last minute - FORTUNATELY, we have lots of great leftovers in the freezer!! Everyone enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. I don't remember seeing the staff walking around, but the tables were cleaned off and the facility was happy with the catering area, so that makes me a satisfied bride!
