About this vendor
Castalia Farms is a wedding venue in Castalia, OH. It is located on a serene 200-acre farm with courtyards, cottages, a pavilion with a garden theme, a game room, an 1800s barn, a lake, woods with trails, and more. We rent our farm property for your special event.
You choose how to make your vision happen at Castalia Farms, so use your imagination and creativity because you can customize the different areas for you and your guests. We desire to help you and your guests get a full farm experience, including hay wagon rides, fishing, farm-stay cottages, and our friendly farm animals! Agriculture is an important part of our property, and we want to share what we do with you.
We have multiple ceremony spots, including under the majestic willow trees, by the fruit orchard, on a path in the woods, close to the lake, the beautiful courtyards, and a rustic barn….so many options.
We provide tables and chairs for 150. They must be rented from a local event rental company if you require more.
You can choose to include our two farm-stay cottages, which have 12 beds and 3 full bathrooms (we allow up to 13 overnight guests), or you can just book a day without cottages. This affects the price.
Mini-micro is for under 15 guests and includes one overnight cottage Sunday-Thursday. This package is $1500.
Micro wedding packages include up to 40 guests and cost $2,850 during April and July.
The only package is $6,000 for the entire 200 acres.
The weekend wedding package, Friday-Sunday, is $7,500. It includes the 2 overnight cottages and 200 acres for the full weekend, which accommodates 13 overnight guests.
We appreciate your interest in Castalia Farms and your support for Downs On The Farm, our nonprofit organization supporting those with disabilities and providing an animal sanctuary on site. Because of the work we do with our nonprofit and all of our farming on-site, we only host a small number of events per year. We are looking for couples who want to enjoy the farm and all it entails, as well as all its beauty!

Shawna is great to communicate with and so sweet! The venue and grounds are stunning. I would highly recommend.
This venue is truly a hidden gem, with many hidden gems on the property as well. The barn on the property is just beyond perfect. The lights and minimal decorations provided by the venue are simply beautiful. The bare basics add just enough flair but also allow you to add your personal touches. It is perfect for a rustic wedding. We decided to have our ceremony under the willow trees, which also made for the most perfect ceremony pictures. But then, the whole property, all 200 acres, makes for some pretty scenic photos. We loved the opportunities this venue provided to us for our wedding. Every area of the property is just so beautiful. They do have limited 8' tables so if your vendors need those, just note that there are only a few, but again, we made it work! The only downfall would be in the housing. The groom's house was very warm with little to no AC. There were also limited outlets. There is only one full/queen-size bed on the property which is also a little tricky. All the other beds are twins. We had our bridal party stay with us for the weekend, which was so great to have that option. The night before the wedding it worked that we separated the girls from the guys, but then after the wedding, it was a little hard to try and get all the couples back together. But we made it work! It is still an awesome benefit that many venues do not offer. This was really great for us when a lot of our bridal party was traveling. On the other hand, it was really amazing to have the bar room, the game room, and all the spaces for both the guys and the girls.
Genuine venue and felt like home. I had all the flexibility I wanted, and the space to make it happen. There’s so much space! We could have the wedding outside or inside. Anything is possible here and I was so grateful to spend my time how I wanted it. The backgrounds for pictures was amazing. Super green and beautiful. Very thankful to Castalia Farms for making my dream day happen the way I wanted it!!!!
Gorgeous. Private. The people were so helpful and flexible on what we wanted. And it was so much less expensive than “similar” venues. There is really nothing similar to this place. What we wanted and well within our budget. Loved the included overnight cottages.
alI can say is wow..my fiancee and I went to Castalia farms located near Sandusky oh and didn't really know what to expect...I fell in love with the truly vintage barn with it's soft draperies and beautiful chandelier...such a contrast to the generic rooms we had been offered at other places...and a big plus were delightful cottages to house the bridal party the night before and a Full,-on game room and bar area...although there r lots of pretty spots for an outdoor wedding, I am hooked on the barn...
