Their Origins
Nando and Rose both have roots in Sicily and have spent each summer on that beautiful island. They bring a typical Sicilian lightheartedness along with Italian coffee and enticing traditional food. Through Castanea Sicilian Cafe, Inc., this married couple immerses themselves in "il dolce far niente"—the sweetness of doing nothing, a meditation from the Mediterranean. Castanea is inspired by the name of the oldest chestnut tree in the world, on Mount Etna in Sicily.
