The fortress dates all the way back to 1928 when it was first built as a stopover location for mobsters. During this time, the regal structure was used as a luxurious cover for bandits to make runs between Chicago and New Orleans or Miami. The location evolved into an illegal gambling house which was fashioned with false walls and hidden cellars. The guests would use these tricks and illusions to hide from the law when they came knocking on the kingdom doors. In the end, good prevailed, and the operation ceased to exist. Post mafia era, the castle’s purpose evolved throughout the generations. At one point, it served as a gourmet restaurant for the wealthy but was later turned into a horseback riding academy. In the late 70s, the structure underwent another transformation and was converted into a large studio. Since then, the location has hosted a number of clients including Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and Brad Paisley. Today, the castle remains as a studio and event space where lovebirds are also welcomed to create their own storybook ending. Couples can use the large stoney structure as a charming backdrop for their wedding celebration. The grounds can be fashioned with event tents, chairs, and tables to prepare for an exciting outdoor affair. Nearlyweds are free to celebrate their love with 300 of the closest friends and family.
