We had our wedding at castle hill winery. There are tons of options for your outdoor ceremony. The reception hall is large enough to accommodate larger weddings. We enjoyed the outdoor views and access to most of the grounds. It's a beautiful canvas for a wedding. Kim IS WONDERFUL AND REALLY CARES. I highly recommend her wine and sangria. Guest and family loved the wine options.
There wasn't a good castle view the day of our wedding due to the overgrown tree line (June). There were a few hiccups the air conditioning did not work well during rehearsal or our reception. It was pretty warm in the wine hall and reception space on June 22.
I do think with improved air conditioning, some tidying up of the venue building ,antique area, and better view of the castle there is so much potential for a luxury style wedding. It was affordable for us. So much amazing potential. Spring and fall weddings would best there weather wise before its super hot. We loved our wedding, ultimately i was able to look past the hiccups since it was a beautiful wedding. But for future brides these tips would help!
We had our wedding at Castle Hill and enjoyed every moment. They were very professional and communicated regularly throughout the week leading up to the event. They were flexible working around the rain that came that morning so we were still able to do our ceremony outside. The staff was wonderful!
When I was asked to be in a wedding at the Castle Hill Winery, I was excited. I love wine, so I was ready to do a tasting. On the website the land is breathtaking. However, when I got there for the wedding rehearsal my mouth dropped open. Driving up the lane there where no grapevine on the post just weeds. When I got to the building I was thinking this is the wrong place. It look like it was falling down. The air conditioning wasn't working well. The kicker for me was the dust on the chairs, lighted trees and the walls. The chair needed painting, or at least painted. Very disappointed. When I heard the cost, I was thinking that the cost of having the Castle in the back ground. It was also to help keep the lights on. Very disappointing. I brought a bottle of wine, hope it is better then the look of the winery.
I loved having my wedding there. Their were some down falls but still a beautiful day and a beautiful place.
I had my wedding at Castle Hill on the patio (ceremony and reception) and it was wonderful! Kim and her staff did a great job at accommodating most of our needs, and it was decently affordable. They are definitely a fantastic, solid option for a wedding venue!
Good wine, nice staff, Beautiful grounds. Excellent view for wedding spot. Reasonably priced venue and staff. Straight forward contract. No hidden fees. No bad surprises. Highly Recommend it for an event or a stop..
I had my; wedding there, It was beautiful , the grounds were immaculate. The staff and wine were also great. WE have stopped by several times since our wedding just to grab a couple of bottles of wine. They are so accommodating. They even opened back up after hours so we could grab some wine. I would recommend it for a wedding or a place just to hang out on the patios.
Castle Hill Winery is a great venue to have an event. It has great views and the building is large and accommodating. It was all inclusive which I liked very much. They provided all of the chairs, tables, table cloths, etc. They completely set everything up, and did all of the clean-up which was great.
I was very pleased with the venue, however, communication was a bit of an issue. Kim rarely initiated an email or checked up to see how everything was going. When we would ask her questions, several of them would go unanswered. After hearing a few reviews about how great her communication and planning was, I had such high expectations so I was disappointed. The hours for the day of the wedding were not very flexible. I would have loved to have been able to come earlier or had all day to set up and get things done. We had to purchase additional hours just to get into the venue on the day of the wedding. Overall, great views and a great venue, however the management was a little disappointing.
Our wedding at Castlehill Winery was an overwhelming success. The view was spectacular in the KY countryside with a castle in the background. They have a large indoor space that fit 125 very comfortably as well as a beautiful bar. If you are willing to put in the effort and make a few concessions, you can have a Saturday wedding for the same price as a Sunday wedding everywhere else. It was so worth it!
Incredible venue! The scenery is gorgeous and the building is one of a kind. The owners were very accommodating and extremely friendly, they went above and beyond to make sure my big day was special. The owner, Kim, was extremely creative and very particular in making sure everything turned out perfect. Since then I have been back several times for tastings and have received just as wonderful service. Last time I visited they were expanding their patios and trails so I am eager to go back this spring. I have had several friends use the venue as well for various events and have yet to hear a complaint. The Camelot wine is a must try! I would recommend Castle Hill to anybody in need of venue, outdoor or indoor! My wedding was beautiful and I couldn't have been more ecstatic with the way things turned out.
Very unprofessional!! My husband I had looked the place up and wanted to go visit. According to their website their hours are M-F 10-6. We arrived there at 12:45 on a Monday to find the place locked up. Tried to call twice with no answer. I did send them an email suggesting that they update their website with the correct hours (which they have not done) and never received any response from them. I posted the same on their facebook page to see the next day they deleted my comment. So, they only display favorable comments for the public to see. Again, very unprofessional!
This venue was wonderful and so beautiful! Kim the owner was so wonderful and helpful! We had our wedding and reception there which made everything so much easier! Kim let us decorate and do what we wanted to with our ceremony and reception! I highly recommend this venue to anyone!!!
My son had his wedding at Castle Hill Winery. I feel compelled to comment on this wonderful venue. I was very concerned about every detail of my sons wedding as I did not have much say in what was taking place. I was relieved when I met Kim, the owner of Castle Hill as she takes charge and makes suggestions and is very concerned about the details. We booked the venue a year in advance and visited the venue several times over the course of the year with our Dj and cake person. Kim and her staff were always available, pleasant and helpful. Kim was accessible by phone, text or email the entire year. I could text her with a question that just popped in my head and she immediately responded. This was huge to me as I didn't expect a venue to be that accommodating. The venue is beautiful and well maintained and they are constantly changing the decor there. The grounds were beautiful, freshly mowed, and the gardens were beautiful. Our guests loved the wine and we had numerous complements on the beauty of this venue. Perfect place for a wedding!!! I am one Happy Mother-in-law!!!
venue was beautiful we had our ceremony on the patio overlooking the castle. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were at times a little hard to reach, but always got back within a day.
We loved having our wedding at Castle Hill Winery. The ceremony was held on the patio outside and there was a spectacular view of the castle in the background.
not my ideal place, service is okay, not absolutely impressed by the view
The view of the castle and horse farms was perfect. It was helpful to have an outdoor ceremony site with an indoor backup. The winery does have charm. However, there were drawbacks. The bar selection was restrictive - we were not able to have liquor and we were required to use only the winery's wine and a beer keg. Also, catering was an issue. If we were to use an outside caterer, we would've had to rent a tent, as outside caterers were not permitted to use the facility's kitchen. Because of this we chose to use the facility's catering company, but we were never given a tasting. 'I don't do tastings,' we were informed by the vendor. I was extremely disappointed and concerned that I would be serving my guests (and spending a significant amount on) food I never tasted.
Overall... a very beautiful and reasonably priced location. However, A lot of trash on property and scheduling times for rehearsal was difficult. Vineyard not well kept either. I would recommend using the place, however would just warn you of these issues.
we had a wonderful experience at Castlehill Winery. wonderful staff. beautiful place and a whole lot of fun. economical for a large reception site.
We looked at this place and were initially excited becuase it was a beautiful setting and it overlooked the neighboring castle. Every little girl's dream, right? We thought so until we met the lady who runs the weddings there. She was late for our meeting first of all, and then she took us to the reception area which was COMPLETELY TRASHED from a sorority party they had the night before. One would assume if you knew you had an appointment coming, you'd at least clean the spilled beer and puke off the floors! Just the unprofessional quality of this place made us give an immediate NO THANKS!
