like being introduced to a new friend by a mutual friend, and that we were in it together to figure out if the mutual relationship worked. The groom and I grew up on different coasts, met in college, and had family and friends scattered across the country and the world, as well as older relatives that had a hard time traveling. So when we planned the wedding, our number 1 priority was making sure that all of our friends and loved ones who were making the trek to celebrate us could come and have a damn good time. Priority number 2 was remembering that damn good time. That’s what I loved about Catalina’s portfolio – yes, you get the standard shots that you know you need of the rings and the shoes and the dress and the details. But the majority of her photos, and what makes her stand out as a star, is her ability to capture the REAL moments that people have, the real expressions. Every time I go through my gallery I can’t help but smile at the way she perfectly captured the character of all of our different guests, and the feeling of the night. She really told a story. Her use of natural light made everything look and feel natural. Breathtaking. On top of everything, she was a dream to work with from beginning to end, constantly assuaging all of our fears and concerns. Even better? Literally every single person at the wedding who exchanged a word with her came to us to compliment us on our photographer. She was a HIT. The family loved her while she was setting us up for portraits (quickest and most painless round of portraits I ever could have imagined) and every time the wedding comes up as a subject at family gatherings, someone asks me the name of our photographer again because “wasn’t she just incredible??” Yes, yes she was. I’ve already decided that at some point in my life, when we’re celebrating a milestone anniversary, I’m going to hunt her down and have her photograph it… then I’ll finally get my crazy dramatic outdoor landscape pictures 😊 Thank you Catalina for being an awesome part of our wedding day, an amazing partner, and most of all for helping us document the memories that mattered the most to us.
