From then on, we knew that Julie would be the person we’d be working with throughout our engagement and wedding for photos. She is infectiously friendly, one of the best communicators I have ever met in my life and has an incredible skill for capturing natural-looking photos rather than a bunch of overly-posed shots. Neither my wife nor I had much in mind in terms of how we wanted our photos to look or shots we “had” to get, but Julie helped guide us through a timeline (that she made!) of our wedding day to help us think about what we might want at different times to make sure we really got everything we wanted. Julie is also an incredible family member wrangler and kept everybody in line and where they were supposed to be throughout the often-challenging portraits section of the day. Not only did she perfectly capture both the most important moments and most important emotions of our wedding day, she did so with crystal-clear, perfectly edited photos (despite a bit of a dark venue!) and delivered them to us incredibly quickly. Julie also proved to be an invaluable vault of knowledge about other vendors – she recommended both our wedding DJ and hair/makeup artists and both of them absolutely exceeded any expectations we might have had about them. In sum, I literally cannot recommend Julie highly enough because we could not possibly be any happier with our experience with her. thing easy for us. We had an included engagement session which was great for both of us. We had to postpone our wedding for COVID, and it was a snap doing so with Julie. She remains easy to contact and open to communication. Her skills with organization and creating a timeline are exactly what you need, especially if you're not working with a wedding planner or day-of coordinator. We met virtually the week before our wedding to go over everything and confirm timeline as well, which was super helpful. We discussed our views and visions for our photos and what we were thinking about, and she was super attentive to our wishes, and the overall "vibe" we were going for with our photos. The day of our wedding was awesome. Julie was so present but also super accommodating and listened to some of our weird requests. Her second photographer was also great and worked fantastically with the groom and groomsmen. Julie came in clutch and practically saved our wedding ceremony when our transportation never arrived to take me (the bride) to the church....Julie actually left the church where she was taking photos to transport me and my MOH to the church! Everything went off without a hitch with Julie and I just cannot recommend her enough, from start to finish the process was fantastic. She also got our wedding gallery back to us SO FAST (before I could write the review) and the photos are just absolutely beautiful. They are everything we could have wanted and I can't thank Julie enough for all she did for our wedding. Her passion, care, and consideration for her business are evident in everything she does. ne of the things that Julie does is help you pin down your timeline- which would have been one of the more stressful things to do but with Julie’s help it was a breeze! She was there with creative ideas, and a lighthearted take on things which is exactly what we needed to stay calm! tagram and the Knot. If you like nature-esque photos and candid memories captured, Julie is your gal! She made us feel so at ease it was like catching up with a good friend. We booked the adventure engagement session and elopement. She made sure to ask plenty of questions about our day and any poses we liked. The engagement session went smoothly, even though we came late after taking a few wrong turns in the pouring rain. We thought the torrential downpour would be a damper (especially for her precious camera), but she was a trooper and made sure we got all the shots we wanted and did not let a single minute go to waste! She sent us the photos just DAYS(!) later so we include them in our wedding slideshow. Her drive and determination that during the engagement session gave us confidence we were in good hands for the wedding. During our Zoom wedding, she was able to capture so many shots and sneak in a few boudoir style shots before the first look. When we got the photos back, the husband was shocked but in a good way 😉 I could give a billion more examples why Catchfly is great but I’ll stick to just one more…I accidently got makeup on my gown and was in a massive panic. Julie kept me calm (I had NO family present thanks to COVID), had a few tricks up her sleeve to get as much off, and then graciously edited it out without us even asking. Even with all the edits and backend work, it was crazy how quickly she gave our photos back. We love looking at them and even my friends complimented them. They said she made me look like a model!! Most of all, none of this could have happened if it wasn’t for Julie’s affectionate personality. She truly cares about you and your SO, and it helped us two introverts feel more comfortable in front of the camera. big plans to hit Moomers but the rain hit us hard. I was pretty stressed thinking it would be cancelled but Julie persevered and stayed in tight contact throughout the day even though we were both camping and the storms kept coming. Julie was thermal in her planning and offered up a few adventure suggestions like smores and bonfire, ice cream and etc. With the rain being intense we didn't get to hit the sand dunes or make a fire but it didn't matter because Julie spent to prior day scouting the perfect place for our adventure engagement session in spite of rain. We felt comfortable with Julie and felt that her online presence leading to our shoot made us feel like we were hanging out with someone we knew personally. She encouraged two shy parents who have been together for 8 years that a photo shoot can really make you express love and romance in a new way. Because of our adventure session we got to explore a new area we would have otherwise not discovered. She is knowledgeable and if she's not, she will find the knowledge needed to get the job done. Because of her personality, I was very comfortable asking her anything and she answered all our questions. I felt no pressure to book with her, but I immediately knew she’s the one! She was ecstatic when we told her we’re booking with her. Our first photo session with her was the engagement session. The weather wasn’t exactly favorable since it down poured on us, but Julie made sure to capture every photo we could before it rained. She even offered to do a second engagement session to make sure we have the best photos! Luckily, the weather was much better. For both sessions, Julie brought out the best expressions from us. It felt very natural and fun working with her, as if we’ve been friends for such a long time. We received the photos very quickly, about a week and turned out so beautiful! Everyone loved it! It was 2 months before our wedding when COVID-19 hit. Julie made sure to follow up with us with any changes throughout the whole time. She felt genuinely concerned about how we felt having to go through the pandemic and our wedding postponement. She helped us find the best alternative venue for an outdoor wedding ceremony/reception that complies with the executive orders. She was also very transparent with the limitations of what she’s able to do during the quarantine. Having to plan a pandemic wedding, I was super stressed out with all the changes. She was very patient and accommodating with the changes we went through. She helped me put a timeline together that best suits our wants and needs since we only had very limited time in our reception. During our wedding session, Julie exceeded my expectations. She has keen eyes for the best lightning and background so we had the most amazing photos! Very attentive to details, she even courageously removed the bee that was stuck in my wedding dress! Even though we veered off the timeline for a bit, Julie was very flexible and had quick decisive actions with all the last minute changes. After all the festivities, Julie gave us the BEST GIFT EVER! Not only did she give us sneak peeks photos the DAY OF the wedding, she also finished editing ALL THE WEDDING PHOTOS THE NEXT DAY! PLUS she surprised us with a GIF of our wedding kiss! Julie went above and beyond from the moment we first contacted her through email, to our first meeting, our two engagement sessions, COVID-19 wedding replanning, and wedding day. ve stars with her photography alone. Our wedding photos are FANTASTIC! It was an incredibly emotional day and she and her second captured all of it. When I got ahead of myself and started with our first dance earlier than what was on the schedule, Julie heard the music start and she and her second dropped what they were doing (editing photos from earlier in the day) and ran (literally!) to capture the moment. She also had us redo the dance in a more natural setting when we were taking bride and groom photos and those turned out beautifully! I could go on and on about the amazing shots she captured. However, it's not "just" the photography that sets Julie apart from other vendors. She really went above and beyond by helping coordinate people so that things kept moving. I'm sure there were even more things that she took care of behind the scenes. It was important to her that my husband and I got to enjoy our day and not have to deal with some of the logistical issues that are inevitable with a big event like a wedding. He doesn’t like having his photo taken and I knew that having the “right” photographer would be essential. Day-of the wedding, he was having more fun than me! When we met up for our first looks and the bridal party photos, he and all the guys were far more relaxed and excited about taking the photos than I could have ever expected. The photos Julie captured of him are relaxed, comfortable, silly, serious, and really captured the love we have for each other. My husband is typically uncomfortable and awkward in front of the camera. He tends to shut down when he is unsure and I was terrified this would come through in our pictures. It wasn’t stiff or too posed but a moment in time of your love being shared. I cried when I saw my engagement pictures. ll the small moments and the big ones. She took plenty of pictures of us and all of the guests, and she used the outdoor setting: the flowers, the trees, the lake, perfectly. The posed pictures are wonderful, but my favorites are the impromptu pictures - the laughing, the loving looks, the hugs, the fun times. Julie is organized. She directs without being pushy. She is very willing to try whatever you have in mind. And she is just fun to share the day with.
