Catchfly Photography

king with her, she clicked with us right away and asked all the right questions and things we never even considered! She made the planning super easy and we absolutely loved how detailed she was making sure we knew exactly what would come next and tips for us to get through the day. On the day, she was INVALUABLE! She was the perfect blend of keeping us on time and just capturing moments as they happened, which is what was most important to us. She was a lifesaver and had expert help to make sure that my makeup was on point even through all the joyful tears! I don’t think anyone else could have captured and helped us through our wedding as well as Julie did. We recommend her to anyone! She will adapt and make sure she fits right in, while also bringing her incredible style and experience!

really guided us through the process and gave us pointers for the photos. She went above and beyond and delivered the final product way ahead of time, which saved us a lot of questions from family. I would highly recommend Julie for your special moment!

ent above and beyond to capture emotional moments and non traditional photos such as reflections  which turned out to be some of our favorite photos. Catchfly photography was definitely worth the investment as we will have all of these memories for a lifetime!

oments. I would definitely recommend her to all especially during the late fall and winter months! She is more than a photographer and definitely a friend!

l and polite, and Julie delivered on every level. She had a great personality and easily engaged all of our guests while taking photos! And her photos were AMAZING! I would definitely recommend her to my family and friends.

efficient in gathering all of our desired family and friend shots. We haven’t seen our gallery yet (it’s just a few days after the wedding) but we really enjoyed working with her and I’m confident we will love the memories she captured! Thank you Julie!!!

her do a 2nd engagement session with us! Julie was organized & tailored our day to meet our preferences and needs. Not only was she a great photographer, but she was a great support on our big day. We cannot recommend her enough. THANK YOU, JULIE!!! -Austin & Calista Kraatz

her. She took so much care in getting to know us and our story, and it really showed during both our engagement shoot and our wedding day. Julie was able to make us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and she cultivated such a fun yet professional atmosphere. She was able to turn our photos around for our engagement shoot very quickly, and we loved them! Moreover, Julie was so helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process whether that be by helping with our timeline, traveling to separate sides of the state for our wedding and engagement shoots, making sure we were on track on our wedding day, or having the flexibility to accommodate some additional family portraits day-of. It is so important to choose the right photographer since they have so much impact on your experience of your wedding day and how you look back on it, and we are so glad we chose Julie. Not only that, but we are also so excited to relive the day at our reveal party!

and Julie was able to help work with us on finding a time to do our engagement session. I am beyond excited to see our wedding photos! I highly recommend Julie to anyone needing amazing photos done! And if anyone has a child (she took the most beautiful pictures of our daughter!)!

lie shined most, she was a huge help in both keeping us comfortable as well as the actual planning of the photos and event itself. She was kind, considerate, thoughtful, and incredibly professional. Everyone who interacted with her spoke positively of her as a person and as a professional. Anxiety surrounding choosing the right vendors can be paralyzing when planning a wedding, but even amongst all of that picking Julie as our photographer was one of the best choices we made during the entire process.

nd enjoyable for the two of us who had never had professional photos taken before. I would without a doubt recommend her to anyone looking for photography services! We can't wait to have her do our wedding photos.

through the whole process and the day of. She responded to emails extremely quickly and gave suggestions that could help us have a smooth day and make the most of our little event. She showed up early and introduced herself to our family and stayed late to capture a few last shots we thought of. She made us feel comfortable and offered suggestions for posing and backgrounds around the house, always prioritizing us feeling comfortable so that it shows up in the photos. She was our cheerleader during our couples portraits session and made our little elopement feel so special. I read her reviews before I emailed her, and no one was lying when they said how amazing she was! She is one of a kind and I would love to book her in the future again for anytime I would need a photographer. Julie cares about her work and is so passionate about what she does, I can’t recommend her enough!

the edits. That said, Julie was AMAZING! Her communication was excellent, and she made us feel at ease during our practice session, which she encouraged and organized even though we hadn’t requested it. Overall, she made us feel relaxed on the wedding day, kept us on schedule as much as possible, and was genuinely an amazing person to work with. We are obsessed with every shot she took of our wedding day, capturing our moments perfectly. She came well-prepared with a list of our must-have shots and captured all the moments we wanted. We couldn’t be happier with how our photos turned out. Julie is an absolute gem to work with.

before I had even hired her!! Julie was very detailed and kept my quick timeline in mind. She was very knowledgeable about things I needed to complete before the wedding day to make sure I didn't miss anything. On the wedding day, Julie was prompt, calming, yet upbeat. She helped to calm my nerves with her positive energy. My family members kept coming up to me and telling me how awesome Julie was. As far as the pictures, they turned out ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. Julie captured my vision to a T. The picture taking process felt effortless, especially for my fiance, who isn't necessarily a fan of getting his picture taken. We are so incredibly obsessed with our pictures! I've looked at them every day since our wedding! If you're even thinking about hiring Julie, DO IT! You will not regret it!

with Julie. Julie helped us navigate how to make our day exactly how we envisioned it and we’re so happy to say that the result was exactly that! She was always available for questions and provided insightful advice. I had shared my Pinterest vision board with Julie and I really appreciated how seriously she took the types of photos I like best, she showed this by asking questions about what I liked about the different photos and came into our wedding day with those things top of mind. While we came into our elopement trip with a detailed plan, we decided to pivot to a different hike than what we had originally planned and Julie was not only supportive and receptive but found us the PERFECT alternative. On the day of our wedding, Julie was quick to work getting all the crucial shots without us feeling rushed or stressed. She was highly organized and prepared and we had an absolute blast adventuring around and taking photos at picturesque spots on the shores of Lake Superior Not only was our wedding everything we ever dreamed of, but the pictures came out AMAZING. We love the photos all so much and will cherish them for the rest of our lives.

tes an environment that allows you to feel totally comfortable in front of the camera. Her timeline planning and location recommendations were so helpful in the planning process and helped the day go on without a hitch. I’d recommend her to anyone who is engaged or looking for a family photographer. Thank you again for your amazing work, Julie!

usually uncomfortable with photos but she is so goofy and easy to mesh with that we felt comfortable from the start. She captured every special moment, from the big ones to the little details we might have missed, all with such warmth and creativity. Julie’s ability to put everyone at ease made for natural, beautiful photos that perfectly reflect everyone’s emotions throughout the day. She works well with large groups and kept everyone organized and on time without feeling stressed. She works quickly which is nice too! Our engagement photos came back the next day - which was AMAZING! Her final images are all stunning, timeless and full of life. Her style of photography is great. I also love her website and timely communication. Every person we have shared our photos with has commented, “Wow! Your photographer is amazing!” If you’re looking for a wedding photographer who goes above and beyond, Julie is the one! We are forever grateful for her and will cherish our photos forever.

my wedding one day. As soon as I became engaged, she was the first vendor I called. The first thing you’ll notice about Julie is her professionalism with every little thing she does. She’s very communicative. Always follows everything up in an e-mail and provides more information than I probably even need. On the day of our wedding, several of our guests commented on how PRO she was at organizing everybody. She had a list and knew all the family members names, and organized the photography in a way that made it go smoothly. Her wedding day timeline that she created weeks beforehand made me feel very at ease that everything would be handled on my wedding day, and it was! A couple weeks after our wedding, we received our photos back and I was blown away. I knew I would love them but I didn’t even expect to have SO MANY that I loved. Our gallery consisted of over 350 photos for our elopement and I couldn’t even narrow down my favorites to under 100. I would recommend her services over and over again to anybody.

d really captured the love between us and our personalities. She was a rockstar on our wedding day and spending time with her was an absolute blast! She makes sure to keep things moving so you aren't taking too much time away from actually ENJOYING your wedding. She captured the fun and emotion of each part of the day and got us out of our shells for the posed pictures. She's professional, a great communicator, and amazing at her craft! I can't thank her enough for being a part of our big day.

laughter. When she arrived onsite, she got right to work and when needed quickly moved furniture to get the perfect set up. Julie’s skills are unmatched and she is truly an excellent wedding photographer. The angles, the lighting, her editing. It was all top notch. Additionally during the special, private moments, it never felt like she was in our face with the camera. She let us have our private moments with each other and our parents while capturing from afar (something I wasn’t expecting). Not once did I feel tired of taking photos or like I was in a photo shoot. She really focused on us enjoying our day and capturing the special moments. She had a clipboard with everything we had discussed prior to the big day and kept on schedule. I also must mention we actually had to fire our first photographer who was extremely unprofessional and unresponsive. I was frantic trying to find a new photographer and Julie completely put me at ease. She is incredibly responsive and assured me she would not treat us as the previous photographer had. The universe was looking out for us because I can’t imagine anyone else but Julie capturing our special day. A really special thing I appreciated about Julie was the detailed questionnaire we completed closer to the wedding. It asked many questions including things I hadn’t thought about yet. She also asked about family dynamics and used the information to capture truly special moments. For example, my mother passed away and I wanted shots of myself holding a photo of her. Julie took it to the next level when she shot from angles that included that photo of my mother in the background while I was getting ready. I cherish these photos and the heart that went into capturing our special day. We already decided we will be using her for future photos as we grow our family. No matter the event, hire Julie as your photographer and you won’t be disappointed!

the process with ease. She plans, but is flexible and adjusts to situational changes flawlessly on the fly. We felt extremely comfortable and had a blast working with her. Our guests and vendors all raved about her. You will not be disappointed!

ents. I would definitely recommend her to all!

her delay and she even stayed extra to capture a little bit of the dance floor! She did a wonderful job capturing our wedding day! Thank you Julie!

f the event. Julie’s friendliness put everyone at ease throughout the day and removed any potential stress. The way she directed people to set up for photos was fun and cut any feelings of awkwardness. She worked really well with our videographer right from the start of the day, even though they had not worked together much, if at all. We live out of state and our wedding was in Michigan and Julie went above and beyond by meeting us in Ann Arbor on a snowy January day to do our engagement shoot since that was the only opportunity to make that happen. Loved the questionnaire and top ten photo list. Made us think about what we really wanted to remember from the day. Julie designed our album as well and it looks amazing. She was receptive to our feedback and made edits quickly. Highly recommend hiring Julie and Catchfly Photography for your event.

work, we fell in love with her photos of LGBTQ couples and knew we had to work with her. From start to finish, Julie was super organized and intentional about getting to understand us as a couple. She is a total goofball and absolute professional at the same time. We loved the surprise photos she sent us the day of our engagement shoot and wedding. She even had our finalized albums within DAYS of the wedding! We love her attention to detail, all her timeline work, and her ability to work around language barriers and cultural nuances. She is incredible - go hire her right now!!!

s all day with wanting to make sure everything went on time and smoothly and she was such a calming presence. I really hate asking for things or straying from a plan, so when I asked for extra or specific shots, and she enthusiastically said of course, it made me feel so at ease! On top of being amazing day of, we got our wedding photos TWO DAYS AFTER OUR WEDDING!! When we got the email I was literally speechless and shocked, I was thinking it was a sneak peak, but it was the WHOLE gallery! We can’t stop looking at the photos and I feel like I find a new favorites every time we do! 🥰🥰 Julie was one of the first vendors we knew we wanted for our wedding, and I’m SO glad we did. Cannot recommend her enough!!

esome and we loved that Julie just rolled with our goofy ideas. The day of our wedding Julie not only took gorgeous photographs, she became the all around wedding extraordinaire. Julie even helped out by running items from the bridal suite to the reception when we were beginning to fall behind on time. The space Julie picked for the first look was beautiful and the moment was wonderful. Julie and her team handled themselves in a graceful manner with a rather disruptive family member during the first look and family photographs. I couldn't be more thankful to Julie and her team for the crazy amout of work they put in on our wedding day to ensure our pictures were beautiful and our day was stress free. We also got all of our photographs back incredibly quickly when we were only expecting a few for a sneak peek in that time frame.

responded immediately! I knew from the first time speaking with her that she is who I wanted to capture our wedding! Julie is relatable, easy to talk to, and immediately feels like a friend. But she is also incredibly professional, detailed, and organized! She has every single quality, both personal and professional, that you want in the person photographing the most important day of your life! I love her!! Is that weird to say? I don’t care! JULIE IS A ROCKSTAR! She truly takes the time to get to know you and your fiancé at a personal level and connects with you right from the start. She is also your biggest cheerleader! She is there to bounce ideas off of, share your vision and dreams with, and encourage and get you excited for your big day! Julie takes all the stress away from your wedding day. She puts so much work and attention into everything from day 1. She creates a full custom timeline so she can make the most of her time with you. She is so efficient and knocked out the “must have” family photos quickly so my husband and I could run away with her and take all the fun shots we wanted!! I was so worried about feeling awkward and weird while taking pictures, but with Julie you don’t even think twice about it. She makes you so comfortable and gives prompts that make you laugh and have so much fun!! We also got our photos back within 48 hours! Can you say mine blown!? I can’t describe the feeling I had when looking back through our photos. All the magic, love, and joy we felt on our wedding day was right there in those photos, coming to life all over again. We will get to relive our day for the rest of our life. Julie is a very special person with an insanely special gift. I have never seen such beautiful photos in my life. They truly belong in a magazine and bring tears to my eyes. All of my friends and family absolutely adored her and had nothing but incredible things to say. I started by simply booking a talented photographer, but walked away with a new friend and feeling so honored to know someone like Julie. Hands down the best photographer you will find. Quit reading reviews and book her NOW!!

is truly amazing. She also works with you to make sure she photographs everything you want in your engagement and wedding pictures. Julie is also very easy to work with, has such a great personality and can make you laugh which is very much needed on wedding day. Also, her turnaround time for the engagement and wedding photos are quick, I was so excited to see our wedding photos and we only had to wait a couple days to see them and they are incredible! Would recommend Julie 1000/10 to anyone who is looking for a stellar engagement/wedding photographer. Thank you Julie for capturing our special day.

what makes her so easy to work with. Throughout the wedding planning process, she had documents for us to fill out so she could feel our dream out. We were not left in the dark once. Then she was willing to communicate with our videographer to make sure they were on the same page. She was just absolutely lovely to work with and we 100% will be recommending her to anyone who needs a photographer. Thank you Julie, from Ashley and myself truly for an amazing job and making our day so seemless. We appreciate you so much.

her craft made our wedding day even more special. Julie captured every moment beautifully, from the candid shots of our family and friends to the breathtakingly staged portraits of us as a couple. The attention to detail in every photograph is astounding, and each image tells a story that transports us back to our special day. What truly sets Julie apart is her ability to not only capture the moments but also the emotions. Looking through our wedding album, we can relive every smile, tear, and joyous moment. Throughout the entire process, Julie was a pleasure to work with. She listened to our vision, preferences, added her creative touch, and even worked on the fly to make our photos unique. On the day of the wedding, she was incredibly organized in my chaos, ensuring we didn't miss any important shots while still allowing us to enjoy every moment. The final results exceeded our expectations. The photos are stunning, and are still receiving countless compliments from family and friends. Julie not only delivered our photos almost immediately (like wow!) but also took the time to create a beautiful online gallery that we can easily share with loved ones. ctly the right angles and photos to take. Searched around the outside and inside of our hotel AND the venue for just the right shoot. Even took my wedding dress all around the hotel to get beautiful pictures. She made everyone feel like models with her prompts and fun nature. The pictures turned out exactly what I wanted. She really captured the love between my fiancé and I and the candid moments I wanted to see. I have received so many compliments on my photos already. I am so grateful we decided to hire Julie. You won’t regret it!!!!

d Julie’s portfolio proved that she was up for the challenge. Our engagement session sealed the deal. Julie made us feel completely at ease (we don’t consider ourselves particularly photogenic), and I loved her energy of “We’re friends just vibing, but also I’m going to tell you what to do because I know exactly what I’m doing.” Leading up to our wedding, her timeline was a thing of beauty, and the day of our wedding, we never felt rushed or frantic. We were just cruising and having fun, and Julie made things so much fun for our wedding party. Everyone loved working with her. Julie’s confidence and expertise took so much weight off our shoulders. We could trust her to do her job well and lean on her as a friend and professional when we needed to. For us, Julie’s commitment to her craft, professionalism, organization, and authenticity made her the obvious choice. Also, we got our wedding photos back so fast, and they were WONDERFUL. We wholeheartedly endorse Julie and Catchfly Photography to everyone and anyone, but especially those looking for a nature vibe.

booked after our first phone call. Julie was… INCREDIBLE. Her entire process from the start is so detail oriented and thorough. Julie as a person was incredibly kind, outgoing, and easy to talk to. Julie as a photographer is extremely talented, dedicated, and will go above and beyond for your photos. Like she’ll fully put herself in a bush if it means a good picture. She is way more than just ‘someone coming to take pictures of you’. My now husband, who doesn’t get nervous about anything, was very nervous for our engagement photos. After the shoot he expressed how ‘cool’ Julie was and how she made it a fun experience. On our wedding day, it was no different. She has that perfect mix of having fun while still keeping everyone on track. Never once were we rushing & we got every single photo we wanted. We got our family photos done so quickly that we were able to enjoy our entire cocktail hour! The groom & groomsmen really enjoyed being able to be themselves (foul language and all) with Julie. I think they were getting too comfortable actually LOL. All our photos came back SO quick and we are so obsessed with them. We even had guests mentioning how great of a job she did. ent session we had to reschedule twice and she made time for us as the seasons were changing and we wanted that warm weather feel. Fast forward to wedding day- she sent helpful reminders, was prompt and really helped us stay on time which was a nervous point for us. Her timeline was great and really helped the wedding go by smoothly. We always love a candid and I'm sure she captured them since I never noticed where she was snapping from, unless of course she wanted me to know. She is very well seasoned, funny, works REALLY hard, and cares about what YOU want. My bridal party even kept telling me she was the best photographer they had been involved with. I would 100% recommend choosing Julie as your photographer for your special moments in your life.

gh her paces. We let her chose an area for an engagement session, and they turned out wonderful. I never would have thought of going where we did, but I'm so glad we did! I am not what you call patient, but I didn't have to wait long. Julie is so organized and helpful. She even ran home to get a staple gun the morning of the wedding so we could finish some last minute decorations. I highly recommend Catchfly Photography.
