We got married in Cathedral in July and it was truly an amazing experience. The team is so responsive and kind, and we cannot thank them enough for their help coordinating our wedding. We had a sudden change in plans that meant we started with their planning package much later than normal, and even with the shortened timeline things went really smoothly, even though I'm sure the team must have been very busy. In general, Nate and the team were all so confident and knowledgeable, and it really helped ease some of the average wedding worries we had. They also provided us with a lot of (requested) advice that was so useful to implement as we were planning and figuring out the details. The venue itself is gorgeous and in one of the best neighbourhoods in Seattle (I'm biased), and dressed up it looks even better. The decor guidelines are all really reasonable and flexible, and it was fun figuring out what kind of vibe we wanted to go with. The team on-site day of was so great. We never had to worry about a thing, and they did an amazing job setting up, flipping rooms, and interfacing with our other vendors. As an aside, we also really appreciated that Cathedral maintains a list of vendors they've worked with before, it was really convenient as a research starting point and we chose a couple that had worked in the venue before, which I think helped things run even more smoothly. Cathedral & Spir's nonprofit mission is also SO cool and we are so glad that we were able to create a bit of benefit and give back through our celebration. The candles are also amazing, of course! We love the one we picked out during our celebration and I am hoping to grab a few more soon :)

It felt like we got married in the coolest cocktail bar in the world, except we were allowed to bring in all of our own food and drinks to make it our own. Nate and the team were an absolute dream to work with, and we were blown away by how thorough, thoughtful, and prompt they were answering our every question. If you're thinking about getting married here, just do it!

Located in the heart of the historic Ballard area, Cathedral is a beautifully modern, industrial-style venue perfect for weddings in Seattle, WA. This space is a short walk to the waterfront, with other local amenities nearby, including restaurants, cafes, markets, and bars. It is Seattle's only event space that donates all of the profits to charity. So, not only will you be able to live out the wedding of your dreams, but you can also feel good knowing you are helping a good cause. This historic two-floor, 4000-square-foot space features exquisite finishes, marble bar tops on both floors and authentic exposed brick. From private parties and corporate meetings to fundraisers and wedding receptions, the Cathedral can accommodate up to 170 guests for a cocktail-style event or up to 120 guests seated. For smaller occasions, you can decide to solely use the downstairs or the upstairs so the event space can match your special day. With a full kitchen also on site, you can bring in a caterer and bar service of your choosing and give them the space they need to make your event extraordinary. The kitchen has a prep table, convection oven, 6-burner range, and coffee maker. They offer a range of rental packages to ensure you get everything you need. Whether you'd prefer a full-day, partial, or hourly rental, they will provide enough time to set everything up perfectly. The packages include complimentary candles, built-in tables and bar stools, chairs, round and bistro tables, banquet tables, TVs, an ice machine, glassware, and an onsite host to assist in any way they can. When the evening celebrations begin, they have a high-quality sound system that connects to an iPhone, iPod, or laptop, and microphones are available so you and your loved ones can party in style. He is the founder of Cathedral, a community-focused event venue, and Spir Candle Co., a mission-driven candle company that creates opportunities for growth and empowerment. Spir Candle Co. exclusively employs young men with past incarceration, offering mentorship, job training, and a supportive environment to help them rebuild their lives. Since 2018, Nate’s businesses have worked with over 60 young men and provided more than 11,000 hours of employment. Their story and mission have been featured on KIRO 7, KING 5, and FOX 13, highlighting the impact of his work. Passionate about social good, Nate remains committed to fostering second chances and making a lasting difference.

were stunning. This venue is exceptional for so many reasons: not only is it a non-profit venue, but they light over 100 candles for your event and provide so many things that you would typically need to rent at other venues (chairs, tables, glassware, etc.). Also there are so many things for your guests to do in downtown Ballard if your wedding is mainly out-of-town guests like ours was. Nate and the team were so kind and thoughtful throughout the entire process. We are so grateful we had the opportunity to spend our special day at Cathedral Ballard - it was truly so special!!! :)

nd that was enough of a reason to choose it for our wedding. But it ended up being so much more at the end of the day. We chose to add the venue’s planning service, which I’m so glad we did. We worked closely with Nate from our initial tour of the venue through to our wedding day, and he made every part of the process so easy and straightforward. He was there for every question, big or small, had excellent vendor recommendations, and was on site the day of our wedding making sure everything came together seamlessly. Our wedding truly turned out to be the best day of our lives thanks to Nate. There is so much more to this venue than just its appearance though. All profits are donated to charity, and it is run with genuine love and passion. The candles are also fantastic. In short, it’s a wonderful venue full of wonderful people, and our wedding was perfect thanks to all of their help and support.

The venue is gorgeous, and the perfect space for a wedding and reception. Also we very much appreciated how transparent they were with pricing because many venues are not! Pricing was very reasonable, especially for a venue of this caliber in the middle of Seattle. On a personal note Nate is an incredible guy, he is kind, helpful, and it's really great how he has given back to our community. If we ever need a venue again we'll be coming back!

They’re really reasonably priced especially with all of the equipment they include (and your dollars are going towards a great mission so win-win) and it’s a gorgeous space.
