I start each morning slow, sipping coffee and breathing in thankfulness. Within moments of waking up, I get a text. Our ritual, our romance. I’m smiling before I read it. He just gets my heart like that. John. My source of laughter, my boyfriend romancer, and my best friend. John and I spend more time laughing than not. He teases that my gluten-free avocado toast is too hipster, I tease him for his lack of appreciation for fine cuisine. We laugh hard and play hard. He supports me, inspires me and challenges me to see the world differently as often as possible, and I love that my world is surrounded by people who do the same.
My heart lives for coffee shops and long conversations. My obsession for coffee, with a little bit of French vanilla creamer, and all things baking run deep in my soul. (My cranberry orange scones and blueberry muffins could win some awards I am sure of it.) I am convinced there isn’t anything one of my Granny’s donuts can’t cure. My grandparents live a legacy of love being married for over 67 years, and to this day I believe in forever love because I’ve watched them live it.
I find home in people. Like a good book snuggled on an inviting couch, I love people who are warm and genuine and good for the soul. Maybe it’s because I’ve met too many people who told me I wouldn’t reach my dreams and that I will fail. Each day I wake up and get to prove them wrong while inspiring those who need to be told: “Your dreams are worth fighting for.”
My joy and passion come from giving to people. I love those quiet moments with friends or loud ones when you are surrounded by the people you love most. I love wandering in the wilderness and soaking up the peacefulness of the majestic mountains, just as much as getting lost in a great book. I love that imagination and love can take you to far off places and the sweetest friends can be your companion along the way. Maybe that is why I found photography, or that it found me.

have asked for. Let me break down why...
1. This is a given, but her pictures are amazing. You can see her work for yourself so I won't get too into this, but I loved the mix of film and digital photos. Our pictures felt so romantic and dreamy. I'm not sure what I was envisioning but this was better than I expected. I am obsessed with how they turned out.
2. She is the SWEETEST. One thing I stress to my friends getting married is to hire vendors who you actually like - especially your photographer who is with you all day. Not only did I love working with her, but so did my friends and family so it added to a great atmosphere. Not to mention, she literally printed out a picture, framed it and brought it to me and my husband during the reception AND brought me a bottle of champagne with our venue painted on it. Both were so thoughtful, I was speechless and showed everyone!
3. She's a true professional. Working with Catie has been such a smooth process from signing the contract to the day of the wedding, and then getting our gallery. She is prompt to respond and takes her work seriously while having a great attitude. She didn't have to, but she spent extra time with us during our rehearsal at the church so she would be prepared the next day and know where she'd want to shoot. I was fairly specific with the shots I wanted so I gave her a list, but not only did she execute the list, but she really grasped my vision and got other pictures I hadn't thought of and loved. So she's great at listening to what you want, capturing it, and then also making it 10x better than you could've thought. There are so many other instances, but I always felt secure knowing I was in good hands.
I know it's so hard to be a wedding photographer, but Catie makes it look easy. I was never stressed about my pictures throughout the entire process. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer and I truly couldn't ask for a nicer person to work with!

works speaks for itself, but she herself is an amazing person! I told her off the bat that my husband and I would be awkward in front of the camera! Not only did she make us feel comfortable on the big day, but she made everyone from our parents to our guest feel the same way too! The way she can see things through a lens that most wouldn’t and then capture it on film is truly a work of art.
She was easy to work with from day one, always quick to reply to an email or reach by phone. She was thorough in her questionnaire prior to the wedding day that when the day came, she knew exactly what we wanted her to capture, and she snapped away while we enjoyed the day.
The best part was…SHE PRINTED US A PHOTO AND FRAMED IT ON THE ACTUAL WEDDING DAY! We walked away that night with a wedding photo-but not before my mom ran around the whole wedding showing off the incredible picture!

ented. What I will say about Catie outside of her wonderful imagery is that she is such a great person to have around on your wedding day. As a couple, in the overall scope of your wedding day, you are in constant motion from one milestone to the next and having someone like Catie being around to constantly pay attention to you, your family, your friends and other vendors is so appreciated. She has such a warm personality that it feels like you hired your best friend from childhood to capture your wedding day. You never feel awkward in front of her camera and whenever you are feeling nervous or anxious she will quickly relieve the pressure with a welcoming joke or lighthearted comment. When you gather with your families and friends in the days after your wedding day you always end up chatting about the things that stood out to you. Catie was the one person every member of our tribe said they loved! They all said she felt so down-to-Earth and couldn't believe how efficient she was. For couples looking to book a photographer - I would encourage you to consider Catie. Her work is fantastic in itself but you will be grateful to have her as part of your vendor team.

ded up laughing throughout the entire 2 hours. Before the day, Catie had already researched good spots for taking photos and those ended up being some of our favorites. She also sent us her personal guide for preparing for the shoot such as clothes to wear and what to bring the day of.
As amateur photographers, we also appreciated the way Catie made the colors and shading across all of our photos uniform, which makes it easy to incorporate them into our wedding website. The print box we received was also amazing and even came with a slick USB drive with all of the photos.

Even as someone who isn't keen on getting their picture taken, she made me feel comfortable and embraced our idiosyncrasies--it shows in her work.
After the proposal, she took us around the area to get some additional shots that was a little out of the initial plan, which we loved. Echoing what everyone else has said, Catie is a true sweetheart. Very warm, very kind, and VERY professional, she quelled all my anxiety storms leading up to the wedding by answering all my inane emails within the day (if not within a couple hours) and providing me with info and context. I knew those were promising signs, but I think the day of is when she truly shined. Catie was prompt, ensured we got the photos we wanted, made sure we stayed on schedule, while remaining patient and positive the ENTIRE time!!!
And the final product? They're just astounding. It's so hard to choose favorites... even between categories! Just so many "awww" moments from a day that whizzes by :)

I would give Catie 6 stars if I could - she is that great! My fiancé and I planned a vacation to San Francisco and my fiancé (then boyfriend) planned to propose to me on this trip. He contacted Catie to capture the moment by the Golden Gate Bridge when he popped the question. On this particular day, it was foggy, dark, and COLD! But, Catie did an absolutely amazing job and the pictures turned out better than I could ever imagine. Not only were the pictures amazing but I feel like I gained a friend because she is just the sweetest and we have kept in contact ever since :) We love her so much that we plan on flying her out to Charleston, SC to photograph our wedding! I even made it clear to her and my friends that she would be my photographer for my wedding. When I got engaged, the first thing my now-husband asked, "Who do you want as our photographer?? I want it to be good since we are sort of having an elopement/destination wedding." I told him, "Catie!!" That was only the beginning of it--on our wedding day both Catie and her assistant were very patient and calm even when we made them wait for a couple of hours. We were running behind schedule so she offered to do my hair!! Not only did I end up with gorgeous pictures, but she also gave me a beautiful hair do.
When it was time for the bride and groom pictures after the ceremony, she made us feel super comfortable. My husband hates having his picture taken, but around Catie he didn't seem to mind at all. Both her and her assistant have a calm energy that put us at ease.
