I take a very timeless yet a journalistic approach to wedding photography. And always deliver clean + true to color imagery! From day one Catherine went above and beyond. She met us in Santa Barbara the morning we signed our marriage license and somehow made an already exciting day feel even more special. And when it came time for our wedding weekend in Cabo, she and her husband Jonathan (her second shooter and an incredibly talented photographer in his own right) flew down and spent the entire weekend with us—capturing everything from the big moments to all the little in-betweens with so much care.
Catherine and Jonathan are truly a dream team. They made my husband and me feel so comfortable, and honestly blended in with our family and friends in the best way. We’re so in love with how our photos turned out—so full of joy, love, and real emotion. It feels like us.
Hiring Catherine was hands down one of the best decisions we made. Not just because she’s ridiculously talented, but because of the calm, kind energy she brought to the whole experience. I’m so grateful our paths crossed back in Catalina—and even more grateful to now call her a friend.

Photography was the most important aspect to my now husband and my wedding planning. We had a distinct vision in mind for what we aimed to accomplish with our photography. We wanted photos that felt dreamy, romantic, and ethereal. We wanted photos that felt like artwork that we could display in our home. We wanted photos that mixed traditional wedding photography with black & white and film photography. And finally, we wanted photos that felt timeless, that our children and grandchildren could look back on fondly.
I found Catherine on Instagram and thought her profile perfectly encapsulated what we were looking. We set up a brief FaceTime and within minutes of chatting, my husband and I knew it was a done deal. We booked immediately--and then began planning for when we could get together for a double date for spicy margaritas in LA!
From there, we started to develop a great relationship and friendship with Catherine. She checked in with us often in our wedding planning process, asking if there was anything she could do to help or any advice we needed.
We chose to add on an engagement photo session, and in the weeks leading up, I consulted Catherine on location, outfit, car (we rented a vintage car for the shoot) details. Catherine happily met us at the crack of dawn on a chilly December morning in Malibu to shoot our engagement photos along Point Dume before any beach-goers could arrive. I am, admittedly, not the most comfortable in front of a camera. Catherine made me not only feel comfortable, but confident in myself. She is the ultimate hype girl!
When we left the shoot, I was on such a high, but knew it would be a while before we received any photos. Wrong! Catherine had sneak peaks delivered before we were even home from dropping off the vintage rental car. And boy were they dreamy, like something out of a vintage magazine spread. The photos felt chic, elevated, and sophisticated. Moreover, she captured the love my husband and I have for one another in a way I haven’t seen in a photo before. And, within two or so weeks, she delivered the full gallery. Her professionalism and dedication to timeliness is beyond!
Having this early on experience with Catherine, I had no doubts going in to my wedding day. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, she consulted on the timeline, supported me in outlining the shot list, and check-in on us personally often.
As predicted, on the wedding day, she exceeded all expectations. She was able to navigate our family dynamics, she acted as a leader among the videographer and second shooter, and she kept us in line with our timeline so we could be sure to enjoy our day as well. And what could be better than waking up the day after your wedding to a large gallery of sneak peeks already delivered to your inbox? As for our wedding photos, Catherine encapsulated the raw emotion and true love of our wedding in a way I didn’t think possible. She caught beautiful, tiny moments of the day that my husband and I never saw in person. She documented not only our love for each other, but the love of our parents, friends, and many others. We will treasure these photos for a lifetime, and we can’t thank Catherine enough for that.

ed a photographer that we heard about through the grapevine but we never really looked into. We met with them once, had our engagement pictures taken but then realized after it wasn’t the right fit for us. After this huge disappointment and losing a good amount of money we were pressed to find a new photographer. Catherine was recommended to us by a friend and we LOVED her work. We decided we would meet with her for a casual cup of coffee and get to know her well as we didn’t want to make the same mistake as before. We wanted to make sure she was the perfect fit! She was so sympathetic in hearing about our previous situation and was even patient in dealing with my husband nailing her with questions as if she was being interviewed, since we didn’t want to re live what we just went through. She understood though and made it apparent in her communication and her work that this was more of a passion for her than a job. She talked about her counterpart Jonathan and the love they share together in addition to their passion and love for photography. In hearing her story we knew Catherine and Jonathan not only knew a lot about photography but also knew a lot about love. We knew they were the ones that could capture our story the way we dreamt it. We got lucky in that right after we booked Catherine; Jonathan and Catherine came together as one package and created Deus Amor. Our whole experience with Jonathan and Catherine is too hard to put into words because it was that amazing. My husband who is hard to open up to people got a long with the both of them so well and it was evident in our pictures that Catherine and Jonathan could read us like a book. We had multiple family and friends tell us that they couldn’t believe how well they captured both of our personalities. They easily picked up on our personalities, our awkwardness and uniqueness, and were able to highlight it all through their photography. The wedding day was perfect. Our bridal party and family loved Catherine and Jonathan which made the day that much better. Catherine was more than a photographer that day she was like one of my bridesmaids making sure everything about me: my dress, jewelry, veil, shoes, smile, etc… was perfect and it was. Even with all the commotion of the“getting ready” pictures, family pictures, bridal pictures, etc. Jonathan and Catherine made sure we had an hour with just us four to not only let my husband and I take in the day but also capture our love without interruption- and let me tell you these were probably our all time favorite shots! As you can see I can go on and on about how incredible our experience was with Deus Amor and after all the complications we had in the beginning it was well worth the troubles to have Deus Amor capture our wedding. Our wedding photos are more than just photos they are a masterpiece. With it being several months after our wedding we are still having trouble picking the ones we want printed because every single one of them are that perfect and beautiful. We cannot thank Deus Amor enough for all their time, effort, love, passion and friendship. You both are absolutely INCREDIBLE!

They did an incredible job of identifying what makes us unique as a couple and highlighting it through their photography. Looking at our pictures now, we see all of the things we cared about most coming together and making something beautiful. From the candid shots of our families and friends to our formal portraits, Catherine and JT helped to create a space of intimacy where we were able to be fully present and enjoy the most important moment of our life. en I got engaged I knew that I wanted Catherine to be our photographer. There is something so special and almost magical about Catherine photos that can’t explained in words, you just have to see them for yourself. I don’t know if it’s the style of photography, her editing or a combination of both, but the photos are so raw but with a thin layer of softness -does that even make sense? Like I said, it’s hard to describe in words. I do know that the photos are better than I expected, and make our wedding day look even more beautiful than I remember! She captured very detail of our special day -from my perfume being sprayed, to the tears my husband shed as I walked down the aisle, to our guests laughing and enjoying themselves, no detail was overlooked. Looking at our wedding album is like reliving the day all over again, and evokes the same excitement and love we felt on our special day! Of course beautiful pictures that capture your wedding day is what all brides are looking for in a wedding photographer, but I think it’s also important to make sure that you connect with the person behind the camera. Your wedding day is very intimate, even if you have 200+ guests, and the photographer will be right there capturing those intimate moments so you want to make sure they’re someone you are comfortable with. Catherine met with my husband and I so she could get to know us as a couple and talk about our expectations. After that, I probably emailed her a million times with questions, concerns and crazy thoughts that would pop into my brain, and she always answered all of them. Not only did she make me feel comfortable, but she also made my husband feel comfortable too. I hate when wedding pictures look posed or forced, and Catherine did a wonderful job of keeping everything so natural and authentic. Catherine prompted us to do something’s that we probably wouldn’t have done on our own, like having my veil over both our heads while we kiss -which felt weird and silly to do but looks so beautiful and natural. In fact, that picture is hands down my favorite picture from our wedding day!
Selecting a photographer for your wedding is the second most important decision you need to make for your wedding (fiancé selection takes first....sorry Catherine and Jonathan 😍)....
I knew I was in great hands within the first 30 minutes of meeting both Catherine and Jonathan. Their work speaks for itself, but I will share some of the things that you cannot see. On top of being extremely talented, Catherine is fun to be around and has a natural way of making you feel special. She wants to capture your personality in your photographs, so expect her to try and get to know you! This is a good thing! She captured our style and made our photos true to who we are! Jonathan is wickedly artistic, and he will make you feel like you’re a real model... he and Catherine work so seamlessly together. Jonathan will capture shots that you never imagined your everyday self was capable of! They were true professionals on our wedding day, blending in, but capturing every special moment.
