I struggled writing this review because our wedding was truly a beautiful and special day. That said, there were several significant issues that I feel are important to share.
To ...start with the positives: the venue is absolutely stunning, the vendor recommendations were fantastic, and the food was amazing.
However, several unexpected errors on the venue’s end have left us feeling frustrated even months after the wedding.
First, the fire pit was not working during our fall wedding, and we were never informed ahead of time. We only learned about it after guests tried to use it and were told it was broken.
Throughout the night, the dessert table was often empty, and my mother-in-law had to repeatedly ask staff to replenish it. Ideally, this would have been managed by staff without a guest needing to monitor it.
My husband and I were also never offered our “to-go” meals, which were included in our contract, and they weren’t offered to our parents either. We realized once we got back to the hotel that we didn’t have them, which was disappointing since this was something we had paid for.
One detail I was especially looking forward to was the champagne wall during guest arrival, which I remembered from both our tour and the tasting. The manager had even mentioned it was set up for every wedding, but it wasn’t set up at all.
There was also confusion around the setup process. We were told we would handle setting up our personal items, which is why our parents arrived early. However, staff didn’t arrive until 2 p.m. to unlock the room where our items were stored, causing unnecessary stress that morning.
The late-night flatbreads were unfortunately thrown out before we had a chance to box any up. My parents even brought containers to save leftovers, but everything had been cleared immediately after the sparkler exit. Since I never got to try them during the wedding, it was disappointing not to have those or our to-go filet meals afterward.
Finally, as my mom was gathering the bouquets at the end of the night, a staff member asked if he could take them home if she wasn’t, which caught her off guard and felt a bit distasteful.
I understand that no event is perfect. However, when I followed up with the manager and event coordinator afterward, the manager never responded, and although the coordinator said a gift card would be mailed, we never received it.
Overall, while we had a beautiful wedding, I wanted to share these concerns so future couples don’t experience the same issues. Weddings are a significant investment, and it’s disappointing when agreed-upon details are overlooked.
