Catskill View Weddings & Events

Catskill View Weddings was simply the perfect place for our summer 2017 wedding. The land, the views, and the perspective are humbling, reflective, and beautiful; and the Kristjansson family were gracious, relaxed, helpful, friendly hosts, all along the way. My now-husband Nick found this listing on The Knot. We knew we were looking for a quiet place outside the city where we could host a large gathering (200+). During our first visit to Catskill View, we knew we'd found the place. The Kristjanssons made us coffee, introduced us to the grounds, and made us feel welcome and comfortable in a way that continued for the next 8+ months. We worked with Cantele Tent Rentals, upon their suggestion, and this was a perfect match, as the good folks at Cantele know Catskill View and the grounds well. The Kristjanssons were generous with time on their land, and by the time the wedding arrived, they were on our guest list along with our family and long-time friends! They allowed us to invite a number of our friends to camp in a pasture on the property, which was wonderful for us as we had many friends traveling from afar who either preferred to camp or welcomed the opportunity to budget their travel that way. With its easy proximity to Hudson, our guests could of course choose to stay in town at more expensive places with more amenities. ...The day after our wedding, Nick and I came from Hudson to Catskill View to be sure the garbage was picked up and to grab an array of things that had been left the night before, such as lawn games and some gear. We found that Kristjan had already done the clean-up for us, and collected everything tidily in their garage to wait for us there. We had a cup of coffee with them once more--and I hope we will again, the next time we're in Hudson. I don't think we'd change much if we could re-do the wedding all over again, and we absolutely would not change a bit about our experience with Catskill View Weddings!
