Disappointing Service and Broken Promises
I hired CC King Entertainment for my wedding, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations.
• Ceremony & Reception Music:... The DJ played the wrong songs for my bridal party’s entrance and didn’t play the correct music during the cocktail hour. Additionally, while my partner and I were away taking photos, the DJ played most of our “must play” songs instead of saving them for when we were present. Guests also noted that the DJ’s music transitions and selections felt disjointed.
• Photo Booth Mismanagement: Out of a 100-person wedding, only 14 photo strips were taken, five of which featured the same group. Despite the service including a keepsake binder with all photos, only 11 strips were included, glued to red cardstock—a color unrelated to my wedding theme. The photo booth was not consistently announced or encouraged by staff, resulting in underutilization. While the DJ did make one announcement, it was only after I specifically asked.
• Handling of Song Requests: Songs on our “do not play” list were requested by guests. Instead of politely declining, the DJ directed the requests to me, forcing me to handle the situation myself.
After the wedding, I provided detailed feedback to the owner. He was polite and receptive, acknowledging the issues, and offered a $1,399 credit toward future services as a goodwill gesture. At the time, I appreciated his response and chose not to post a review, as I wanted to give the company a chance to make things right.
Recently, I attempted to redeem the credit for my cousin’s wedding, believing this would be a fair opportunity to experience their services again. However, my emails went unanswered for weeks. When I finally received a response, I was informed the credit was non-transferable, a stipulation that was never mentioned when the credit was offered. When I raised this concern, I was told, “I am ending this discussion.”
While the owner initially seemed willing to address my concerns, this experience has shown a lack of follow-through. Weddings are one of the most important events in a person’s life, and I expect professionalism and accountability from vendors. Unfortunately, CC King Entertainment fell short, and I cannot recommend their services.
