The team at Cecilia’s Cake Shop was very professional to work with- Heather made the process so easy. The cake flavors were rich, creamy, and flavorful. We selected Kentucky Bourbon and Tuxedo for our flavors, and we got so many compliments from our guests about them. We have not been able to stop eating our left overs!

My wedding cake experience was 10/10. The ordering process was simple and Heather nailed the design. Delivery and setup were seamless too! Would recommend to anyone!

We’re long-time fans of Cecilia’s Cake Shop. Every birthday celebration or trip to Last Resort in downtown Athens includes cake from Cecilia's, so we knew we wanted to get our wedding cake from there. Cecilia's is an ICON when it comes to great tasting cakes in the greater Athens area. We had 'small cakes' from Cecilia's at a friend's wedding and they were a hit - all great flavors and a wonderful way to get variety at your wedding. We used them for groom's cupcakes - the flavors were all exceptional and the guests loved them. Heather was great to work with throughout the process. Many thanks to her and her team!

We had a great experience with Cecilia’s Cake Shop. Everyone we dealt with was very professional, and the cake was not only beautiful and exactly what we asked for, but it was also very moist and delicious. Their wedding cake frosting was to die for - we got so many compliments on it. It was a light almond vanilla flavor that paired well with the raspberry, strawberry, and chocolate cake layers we chose. Strawberry was our favorite! The pricing was excellent too. Would recommend a million times!

The cakes were phenomenal!! In looks and in taste! We had one main wedding cake and three satellite cakes. Heather was super easy to get into contact with and she continually checked in with us to see if we had added anything to our order. The design on our cake was exactly what I envisioned when starting the process of finding a bakery. We had several people tell us after the wedding the cakes were so good! We tried several other tastings but once we had Cecilia’s it was second to none. She was able to give us our dream cake and provide seamless delivery as well. We were able to have multiple wonderful flavors without compromising on the design on the cakes. We had a beautiful two tier large cake with Pearl details and 5 satellite cakes. I just had to reach out and send a massive thank you your way for the incredible wedding cakes you made for our special day! They were an absolute hit with everyone, and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out. The design process was simple and the tasting was my favorite part of wedding planning! The flavors were out of this world (I had SIX because I could not choose), and I'm pretty sure I saw some of our guests going back for seconds (and maybe even thirds!). Ordering double the suggested amount turned out to be the best decision ever because every last crumb was devoured with so much enthusiasm. I requested my venue to pack up any leftovers for us to enjoy after the wedding. There were only four pieces left at the end of the night! Throughout the planning process I kept hearing "no one eats the cake" and "so much gets thrown away." Well.. not with Cecilia's cakes! Guests kept coming up to me throughout the evening RAVING about the cake, saying it was the best cake they have ever had! Your talent and dedication truly made our wedding day extra special, and I can't thank you enough for your hard work. The display was beautiful and Heather made sure my grandparents cake topper worked perfectly with our "classic" wedding cake. I'll definitely be recommending you to all my friends and family for their special occasions! We loved using Cecilia’s for our wedding cake, my now husband and I are actually the third couple in my family that has used Cecilia’s cakes. We knew we wanted to look into using Cecilia’s for our wedding cake because we knew it would taste great from having them previously. Heather was great with helping us going over pricing and information to set up the day of. The pricing was very reasonable and the process of choosing cakes and flavors was easy. We had a small two tier cake with a simple design and 2 1/3 sheet cakes and only had a small amount of the tiered cake left at the end of the night. We especially loved the espresso martini sheet cake and everyone thought it was so unique and it tasted amazing!

We KNEW that if we were getting married in Athens, we wanted to get a Cecilia's cake - and our wedding cake (Chocolate Bailey's + Carrot Cake) was even more delicious than we could have dreamed! Heather was great to work with, especially in considering our allergy-related needs, and came up with the most fun and beautiful cake design. We loved everything about our cake and would recommend Cecilia's to anyone planning their wedding.

We are so glad we found Cecilia’s to do our wedding cake!!! They were highly professional, SO talented, and very transparent in price options. Having all the info in the portal gave me such peace of mind. On top of all that.. the cakes were DELICIOUS!!! Our main cake was 3 tiers, each a different flavor (strawberry, raspberry, and vanilla) and our grooms cake was carrot cake. Guests are still talking about the cake weeks later!!

We used for our wedding cake vendor, after a reference from a friend, and the cake turned out perfect! I had a great experience working with Heather from the consultation to picking out style, flavors, and getting feedback on cake stands. They delivered the cake on time for us as well. I will say the cake on the day of our wedding was even better than the tasting cupcakes we had - highly recommend getting Funfetti! I think all the guests enjoyed the cake and it was gone by the end of the night!

We got both our grooms cake and wedding cakes from Cecilia's and they were absolutely perfect! Both cakes were exactly as we had discussed and were both beautiful and delicious. Our guests kept going back for more. I was worried about the cake being dry just because of the size of the cake and it was perfectly moist (sorry for the word choice). Could not be happier that we decided to get our cakes from Cecilia's.

After looking into several local bakeries for our wedding cake, we decided on Cecelia’s. We based our decision on Cecelia’s reputation, and our experience with birthday cakes we had bought there in the past. We wanted a cake with a classic look, but one that also tasted good. We’ve been to weddings where the cake looked good, but was dry or the frosting unappetizing. When we arrived at the reception we were both thrilled at how good the cake looked. We both felt the execution of our design was perfect. The layers, with strawberry filling, were moist and delicious. The buttercream frosting was perfect. Many guests complimented us on the cake and asked where it came from, it got rave reviews. We ate the left-overs for the next three breakfasts with our wedding guests. We were thankful for the time Heather spent with us on Zoom calls, where she made sure she understand exactly what we had in mind. Suggestions she offered based on her experience and creativity were much appreciated and a welcome help in us deciding on the details. We are so thankful to Cecelia's for their part in making our wedding a beautiful and memorable day.

We had a great experience with Cecilia’s. They worked with our budget and made a beautiful cake exactly how we envisioned it. The taste of the cake is unbeatable, too - we knew from the first bite that this was the best cake in Athens!

We always knew we wanted Cecilia’s at our wedding and it did not disappoint! We ended up having to change the date multiple times due to COVID and the bakery was nothing but accommodating even during an ownership change. The day of, the individual who delivered the cake took great care and time to place the florals on the cake and it looked perfect. Of course everything tasted great as well! We had a two tier wedding cake along with various flavors of cupcakes to provide our guests with more variety. It was all a special touch to our big day.

I don't even know if I need to write this, because everyone in Athens knows that Cecilia's cakes are AMAZING! They were half the cost of other wedding cake bakeries that we talked to, and SO much more delicious. We did a 3 tier vanilla cake with strawberry jam layers for the wedding cake and a chocolate groom's cake to have choices for all guests. They were great with delivery to the venue and everything went off without a hitch! We received many compliments on the cakes from our guests. Sadly we were so rushed during our wedding that I only got to eat one bite of our wedding cake during the cake-cutting picture :( Alas it was great bite and I can't wait until our first anniversary because... they offered us one free mini-cake in our wedding cake flavor on our anniversary- so we don't have to eat an old frozen cake! Cecilia's was great and I would recommend them to anyone doing a wedding in/around Athens, GA!

We are so happy we chose Cecilia's for our wedding cakes! They were so affordable and had the yummiest cakes! They do not nickel and dime you and upcharge for the smallest things like many other vendors. They are very talented, were punctual, very easy to communicate with, and made amazing, super tasty cakes. We ordered a bride (3 tier) and groom (2 tier) cake plus an extra sheet cake with a little shy of 150 guests (with plenty of cake to serve them and more (almost 200 people), and it was all gone! We were a little sad because we didn't get extras to take home! All jokes aside, we are so glad our guest enjoyed the cake as much as we did!

Cecilia’s is hands down my favorite cake bakery. I’ve had many of their cakes multiple times at Last Resort and other weddings. I knew I had to have them for my wedding! Probably the easiest decision. The cake was exactly what I envisioned and was delicious! This is not your typical “wedding cake” where it was just ok or like all the rest, Cecilia’s is amazing. Delicious wedding cake and beautiful design. Exactly what we asked for! The only downside was poor communication via e-mail. I would recommend reaching out by phone exclusively, and following up to make sure everything's in place prior to day of delivery. Many compliments on how tasty all three flavors were!

They are AMAZING!!! Cecilia's made my wedding cakes. We had a cake table at my wedding. They made two tier cake with white frosting that had a strawberry base and lemon top. It was my traditional cake. I also ordered 4 signature cakes (Caramel, Red Velvet, Mocha,and Baileys). The cakes were beautiful and delicious. Cecilia's was wonderful to work with and they delivered the cakes to the venue for me. My guests raved about the cakes. There was a crowd gathered at the table after the cutting because they were so excited to get their favorite flavor. I am so glad I chose Cecilia Villaveces!

I will admit, their cakes taste great - some of my favorites. But the disrespect and horrible attitudes of these people are enough to out weight and give them a one star review. Please do yourself and the wedding industry a favor by not hiring people who just have a good product but are horrible to their customers.

The cake was beautiful and exactly what I wanted! There was a bit of an issue getting the pictures of the cake I wanted to the vendor but it was easily and professionally resolved. Oh and the cake was freaking delicious!!! I had some for breakfast the next day!!! It really was good and you can mix and match layers!

Delicious cakes at a great price. We got 4 half sheet cakes in our 4 favorite flavors for about $220. Even without paying for extra decoration, they looked fantastic and tasted even better. They stay very moist for days too, so you don't have to worry about freezing right away and can send slices home with guests.

The cake is amazing! We went in two months before our wedding. They were extremely helpful and very nice. They sat down with us and I showed them a picture exactly how I wanted the cake. It looked just like the picture. They gave us a card and we were able to go cake tasting at a restaurant downtown Athens, GA. It allowed us to have five pieces of cake for free. And it's delicious cake! Everyone commented on how great the cake was at the wedding. Definitely recommend Cecilia's!

Cecilia's Cakes are hands down the best in the Athens area, and frankly the best I've ever had. We had one traditional wedding cake and five satellite cakes in different flavors for our wedding. Each was delicious and gorgeous. The prices are unbeatable, especially considering how delectable the cakes are. For an Athens area wedding, there simply is no better choice.

Anyone that lives or has lived in Athens knows Cecilia's cakes. So instead of talking about how delicious they are (we had a 'Red and Black' wedding cake and carrot cake groom's cake - YUM), I'll mention how amazing the cakes looked. I wanted an ombre ruffled cake in coral. I sent a bunch of photos via email and the result was EXACTLY what I wanted. I can't wait to eat the top of it at our one year anniversary! The groom's cake was a Real Madrid jersey and came out perfectly AND better than any of the photos of cakes I have seen on the web. I couldn't have been happier and my husband (and his Spanish family) were definitely surprised by the awesome cake! Highly recommended!!!

Delicious and beautiful cakes! We went with a cake buffet and got 3 different flavors (caramel, chocolate mocha, and spanish lemon). All of them were amazing. I've even had guests ask where I got them so they can order cakes for family events for themselves. Also a very professional and friendly staff. Highly recommended!

We went to school in Athens, and fell in love with Cecilia's cake while we were there! When we started planning a wedding there was no question where the cake would come from. They were so easy to work with, and kept the cake beautiful even in the July heat! The Red Velvet was a crowd favorite.

I had heard so much about these cakes, I knew I had to try them. I was afraid that a cake to feed 200+ would be way out of my price range but was pleasantly surprised! Very very affordable and absolutely delicious!!

My Cake was one of my most favorite parts of my wedding!!!!!

I wanted to stay local to Athens for the cakes, and after getting a quote from Publix for our 3 tiered cake, Cecilia's was actually the same price. Cecilia's cakes are the best cakes, which are sold at Last Resort restaurant. We had the lemon, strawberry, and Red and Black and they were all extremely delicious. The design was delivered on time and looked prettier than I designed it. Was very happy!

Cecilia's Bakery makes phenomenal cakes. This bakery is a small family owned business in Athens that is truly a hidden gem. They're very busy, so sometimes it takes a while to hear back via email or phone calls (which is a bit nerve-wracking when you're planning a wedding), but the end result is totally worth it. We got a beautiful, delicious cake, that was exactly what we had in mind. Plus, their policy is to bake you a small fresh cake on your one year anniversary. As they told us, frozen cake just isn't as good a year later-=o) I would definitely recommend this bakery, and I'll be back to order smaller cakes for all sorts of other occasions I'm sure.

As always, Cecilia's was the best cake I've ever tasted... We had a very special order (white cake with peach filling) and it was AMAZING! Plus our grooms cake was super cute!

Anyone who lives in Athens knows how delicious their cakes are. We tasted them at a restaurant, then we also got a cake to taste from the bakery! They were awesome to work with and let us get a small two tier cake to cut, then we got a large sheet cake for the kitchen to cut and serve immediately after the cake cutting. Everyone complimented us on how wonderful the cake tasted and we recommend them to everyone!

If you're looking for cakes that are both affordable and taste amazing – look no further. Cecilia's Cakes are, hands down, the best in Athens. My husband and I lived in Athens throughout college and when we got engaged we both knew from day 1 that we wanted the cakes that were sold at Last Resort (our favorite restaurant) to be part of our wedding. Our initial consultation with Rick Villaveces went really well. He was helpful and knowledgable – and the cakes were less expensive than we anticipated. After the initial consultation, however, it was harder to get in touch with him or have him respond via email (which, if you're planning a wedding while also working an 8-5 job, you realize that email becomes your preferred method of communication – plus, it's always nice to have things in writing). When it came time to let them know our cake flavors I never received a response back to my email, so I had to call to get it recorded. On the day of the wedding, we received a groom's cake that vaguely resembled to the one we ordered, but not quite what we asked for. The wedding/bride's cake looked pretty similar to what we asked for, but the presentation wasn't as nice as I had hoped for. That being said, the TASTE is amazing. You really can't ask for a better tasting cake, and at the end of the day the cake is supposed to be eaten not oogled, so we would 100% use Cecilia's again. I'd just suggest making sure you really go over exactly how you want your cake to look, and go for a more simple design so that you're not disappointed when you receive it.

Wow. Our cake was perhaps the most beautiful wedding cake I have ever seen! We picked out a picture and what we got was exactly what we wanted! As beautiful as it was, it tasted even better! I would definitely recommend Cecilia's cakes, and more specifically the white velvet raspberry! Heaven!!!

cecilia's created amazing cakes and cupcakes for our rehearsal dinner and reception. the lemon cake was my favorite, but we also served caramel and german chocolate (which were both fantastic!). we ordered an array of cupcakes for the rehearsal dinner, which were beautiful and tasty too! will gladly order from them again!

Their wedding cakes are just plain delicious. They have amazing flavors and they know a lot about how to make your cake look beautiful and taste amazing. They can duplicate just about any picture you want or come up with something completely different. They want you to get the best for your money. Everyone that had the cake raved about how amazing it was.

I absolutely love Cecilia's cakes and used them for both our wedding and groom's cakes. While they both ended up tasting and looking great on the day, it was very difficult to get anyone on the phone prior to the wedding. I would say they were our least responsive vendor.

Cecilia's Cakes - honestly, the best cake I have ever had. We priced cakes locally to Atlanta, but the prices were a little high for what I wanted. Remembered people raving about the Cakes and two of my friends weddings that went to UGA. Thought it might be too expensive to have a cake from Athens GA delivered to John's Creek but ended up being very affordable and cheaper than the local bakeries. People are still talking about my cake. I am still hording left overs in my freezer. It is so dense but moist, perfect combo.

The cakes were very tasty!! the only problem was they did not separate the tiers like I had wanted. But the cake was still gorgeous.

We used Cecilias Cakes and typically we LOVE what we get- the grooms cakes were Tres Leches and they were perfect! Our wedding cake was not what we asked for- BE VERY SPECIFIC- I was not specific enough I guess and I got a cake with paper on it as well as fondant pearls - none of which I asked for- we wanted a simple elegant cake.

Our cake was from Cecilia and it was amazing!! The red velvet is to die for and the chocolate kahlua cake was so rich. The cake was moist and the icing was impeccable. A truly beautiful cake and tasted amazing.

If you are getting married in Athens, the only question you should have is what flavor of Ceilia's should you pick. As far as I am concerned no other bakery in Athens or Atlanta compares. All my guests commented that my wedding cake was the best cake they have ever tasted. My husband and I chose Spanish Lemon because the flavor is so light and delicious! She sells her cakes at Last Resort (another Athens establishment), try a slice for yourself!

For our wedding we chose to do a cake buffet rather than a tiered wedding cake. Cecilia Villaveces Cakes made us five one-tiered cakes in Chocolate, White Velvet Raspberry and Spanish Lemon. I'm not a huge fan of cake, but these cakes are the best I have ever had. They are moist and flavorful with light and fluffy icing that isn't overly sweet. Our guests are still raving about how good the cake was!

NO ONE IS BETTER!! (all caps are necessary) If you want cake that doesn't taste like "wedding cake" then you have to use Cecilias!

This cake is amazing! It was delivered on time, flavor was fantastic, and they even give you a free mini replica of you cake on your 1st anniversary. No yucky freezer cake for us! price was for 300 people.

I loved my wedding cake! My wedding was vintage romantic, and held in a barn. The cake was perfect! It was a home-made white cake with home-made butter-cream frosting. Two layers were raspberry filled and one was lemon. I wanted something simple, so it was only rough-iced, no decorations. We put peonies and antique roses down the side of it. Absolutely beautiful and delicious!

Cecilia's makes the most delicious cakes I have ever tasted (I don't like cake, but I like Cecilia's cakes). We had traditional vanilla as well as the hummingbird cake (yum!), but truly every type we tasted was great. The price is great (this included a groom's cake as well). If you want a really fancy decorated cake with really fine details, this may not be the place for you. They did a great job with ours, little cute blobby birds and flowers, but if you want something realistic or high-end artistic you might want to shop elsewhere. Our cake was adorable, and sooooo delicious, so if you go simple and value taste, Cecilia's is perfect for you.

Cecilia Villaveces is one of the preferred cake vendors of The Foundry Park Inn in Athens (where I held my reception), so instead of look for another baker, I figure it would be easiest to go with the one my venue trusted. I'm so glad I did! I cannot begin to rave enough on how good Cecilia's cakes are. She makes all of her cakes from scratch, and they are so rich in flavor. They are more like a pound cake, so dense and moist. My cake was a white velvet with a raspberry filling, and my husband's was a chocolate cake with chocolate filling/icing. Everyone LOVED them! And they looked nice too. Both cakes turned out exactly as described, and we were both pretty happy with them. The only drawback I have is that you don't deal with Cecilia herself. The wedding coordinator for The Foundry is your go between. This was not a problem in my case, because she was very good about getting us any details/information that we needed. It can just be a hassle sometimes to manage things third-person. Also, my husband's cake was not very large but required some fondant work. Despite this fact, I still thought the price was a little high, having previously worked in a bakery myself. Overall, though, the cakes were fabulous, and I can't wait for my anniversary so I can enjoy them again!

We had 7 cakes for our wedding and one for the rehearsal dinner from Celcilias. They were all delicious and we got so many compliments!! Using many smaller cakes also made our cost less!!

The cake was just beautiful & I was a little worried at the one my daughter selected. We had 3 different flavors & I must say the strawberry was great. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the Red Velvet, it was all gone before we got back over to the cake table.

I used this vendor for both my wedding cake and my grooms' cake. My wedding cake was AWESOME and very beautiful but my grooms' cake was... i hate to say it, but awful. It was supposed to be a crossword puzzle and the words on the cake were the answers to the puzzle all the guests received. Unfortunately, you couldn't even read the words and it was smaller than we requested. I would go with a different vendor for more original cakes.

I fell in love with Cecilia's cakes at a local restuarant on my first date. She makes the best cakes and was very creative for my groom's cake. We couldn't keep the people away from the cakes and they were gone in the blink of an eye.

First, let me say that EVERYONE at my wedding loved the cake! Lots of guests said that this was not only the best wedding cake they've ever had, but the best cake they've ever had period. AND the cakes were beautiful too! For the wedding cake, we had layers of raspberry filled and Italian wedding with buttercream icing. The groom's cake was Kahlua flavor with fondant icing. They made it to look like my husband's skis based on pictures we e-mailed. We did order too much cake, but my mom was really worried that we wouldn't have enough. I would just say to listen to them and order what they say based on the number of guests you plan to have. The service was great, everything was on time and fantastic!
