Celeste Von Damon Hair and Make-up

TLDR: Magical hair and makeup that, somehow, stays all day and night…through rain, tears and sweat! Celeste and her assistant were punctual, calm and just so dang good. The Deets: I could not have been more thrilled with my hair and makeup! Celeste was communicative and on top of things leading up to my wedding day. She was so understanding as my mother and mother in law were deciding their services (even up to the week of!). Celeste and her assistant did the hair and makeup for myself and my three bridesmaids. They then did the hair for my mother and two flower girls (the older of whom got a little “makeup” to help her feel a little bit more special!). My morning-of wasn't quite what I had hoped - we were stuck in my room due to the rain, so things got more cramped than I anticipated, and I was a bit of an emotional roller coaster. Celeste was cool, calm and collected as the team worked through our hair and makeup schedule. Everything felt so in-hand and she listened to each party member as they explained what hair or makeup style they wanted. One of my bridesmaids really doesn't wear a lot of makeup so she felt a bit overwhelmed initially. Celeste was able to help us create a look that she felt really comfortable with and that was light while still being impactful. Everyone looked so, so gorgeous. Now, I CANNOT believe how well my hair and makeup kept up throughout the day!! I sobbed, took photos in the rain, sobbed again, danced, ate, sweated…yes, I was a mess, haha! Yet everything held up and wore beautifully from beginning to end, I didn't need to worry about a THING. I cannot recommend Celeste enough. You won't regret hiring someone who listens so intently, brings such calm and beautiful energy and executes so flawlessly. Celeste was amazing! She did both my hair and makeup for my wedding day. I’ve never had my makeup professionally done, and was just all around nervous about not looking like myself on my wedding day. We did a trial in her home where she really took the time to listen to me and what I was looking for. She was so relaxed and friendly and the trial really put my mind at ease for the day of. My two bridesmaids had their hair/makeup done and my mom and my best friend got their makeup done. Celeste and her assistant worked some serious magic! My entire bridal party was gushing about what a great job they did. I really felt that Celeste took time and effort to review the trial we did and make small improvements - I loved my makeup and hair even more on the day of my wedding! Everyone else really loved their look and loved the energy they both brought to our getting-ready. I would 100% recommend Celeste for your wedding hair and makeup needs!

Celeste and team did an AMAZING job for my wedding in September 2023! 6 bridesmaids, 1 mother of the bride, and myself (the bride) all got hair and make-up done - everyone looked phenomenal. Celeste is professional, talented, and works hard to make your vision come to life. She is open to feedback and tweaks to make sure you feel absolutely confident and beautiful on your big day. I would absolutely work with Celeste again if given the chance (but hopefully not for my second wedding- I’m hoping this first one works out! ;))

Celeste and her team of hair/make-up artists were fabulous. Celeste did my hair and makeup for my wedding in April 2023 and she did such a great job. She was extremely accommodating throughout the process as I added a bridesmaid and my mother in law for makeup fairly last minute and she worked with me to figure out a time for my hair/makeup trial that worked with my busy schedule. Celeste and her team were wonderful to work with! We had a large bridal party of 7+ and they were able to handle hair and make up for all! We all felt beautiful all day and night long! On the morning of the wedding, I woke up with popped blood vessels all over my face. I was extremely panicked, but when Celeste arrived she assured me that she would work her magic and no one would ever know and boy was she right. She not only covered up the blood vessels but she did a phenomenal job on my hair and makeup. The look was very natural which was something I was looking for. Celeste not only brings her amazing talent to any job she does, but she also brings her beautiful soul. Celeste Von Damon was the perfect choice for my wedding day! From the hair/makeup trial through the day-of, Celeste was sweet and communicative to make sure I was prepared and excited for my hair/makeup before the wedding day. On the day of, myself and seven bridesmaids received hair and makeup services. Each girl had their own hair/makeup requests, and the stylists did an amazing job with all the different styles. Celeste and the stylists came with chairs and lighting in addition to all the hair/makeup supplies, they also provided music and were so calm and friendly as we spent the morning together. So happy we had Celeste Von Damon with us on the wedding day!

Celeste did hair for my wedding – mine, my maid of honor’s, flower girl’s, my brother and my mother’s. She was super flexible, easy to work with and had a calming and patient vibe that made you feel instantly comfortable and confident. She was super responsive throughout the entire process and really listened to what you wanted - you could tell she really cared and wanted to make sure she helped make your vision a reality. She came to my house twice to do trials so we could get my hair just right. Celeste was the best!!! She did my make up for my wedding and everyone looked beautiful! My bridesmaids and I all wanted a pretty natural look and Celeste did amazing. Brief: Celeste is talented, kind, and compassionate. Perfect for those who may have members of their family/bridal party that can be a bit uncomfortable with and/or new to makeup and beauty. Detailed: I cannot say enough to sing the praises of Celeste Von Damon. I first met Celeste about 7 years ago when I was a bridesmaid, and was struck by her and her team's to honor and adjust to the wishes of each member of a very large bridal party. Thus, I knew she would be perfect for my wedding, with my sister who never wears makeup and has very unruly hair, to my mother who is very opinionated about her look. Celeste was extremely warm, patient, kind, and took the time to make everyone feel comfortable. By the time she was done, we all looked beautiful, and remained looking fresh and gorgeous for the entire day and evening. While her work on me was exceptional, it was really seeing the way that she worked with my sister and mother that made the greatest impact. Celeste did something that is extremely hard to do: she made them feel comfortable and confident. My family and I are forever grateful to her. She is a treasure!

We loved working with Celeste and her assistant. They were both so talented and really nice to chat with throughout the morning. Our wedding was delayed from the darker era of the pandemic to this past July 2021, and throughout that process Celeste was very flexible and easy to work with. I cannot express in words how wonderful Celeste and her team are. After looking at her portfolio, I realized I wanted Celeste to do my hair and make up for my wedding without even a trial. During this crazy time during the pandemic, Celeste made me feel very calm and made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe during both the trial and the morning of the wedding. After the trial, Celeste was able to tweak the small issues I had flawlessly the morning of so that I looked my absolute best. Celeste and her team made it very easy for everyone's hair and make up visions come to life while making us look flawless. My mother in law and sister in law have very sensitive skin and eyes, and their make up did not bother them at all throughout the day! Overall, I cannot say anything but good praises about Celeste and her team. They were able to take looks from photographs and personalize them to your face to make you look like the best version of you.

Celeste was amazing! Even though I couldn’t seem to settle on a hairstyle until my wedding day, Celeste was eager to please and super patient with me throughout the process. She is calm, knowledgeable and easy to reach (exactly what a bride needs). Highly recommend her!

Celeste is amazing! She recently did my makeup for my engagement shoot--needless to say, I immediately hired her for my wedding as well! She is thoughtful, kind, and professional. I had no idea what I wanted, as I don't wear a lot of makeup. She made perfect suggestions, and the results were great! My fiance loved the way I looked. She was also very understanding. I'm struggling with a condition that affects my appearance, and she made me feel very comfortable in what could have been a very awkward situation. I was so appreciative of that. While searching for a hair/makeup artists in the Hudson valley, I was in tears. So few provided both hair and makeup, a combination that I wanted. For me, natural makeup was also a big concern. I do not wear much makeup on a daily basis - I wanted to look as natural as possible for my wedding day. Many pictures I saw of work by various area makeup artists did not seem as natural as I hoped. I am the type that 95% of the time hate when I have professional makeup done. Then I discovered Celeste. Her reviews raved about her and her natural makeup skills. I emailed her and she almost immediately responded with smiley faces.  Via our email correspondence, she seemed very friendly and was always very responsive. I booked her before even having a trial. When we met in person for a hair/makeup trial, it felt like I was spending time with an old friend. She is so easy to talk to and an all around great person. Not to mention, she is extremely talented at what she does. She has such a calming presence, which I knew would be important on my wedding day.  On my wedding day, Celeste and Vanessa came to the hotel we were staying at and set up their own stations. Celeste did the makeup of my bridal party as well as my hair/makeup and Vanessa did my bridal party's hair. Everyone looked beyond beautiful. Each person commented how calming and talented both Celeste and Vanessa are. They turned everyone's picture of what they wanted into reality.   Celeste exceeded my expectations in my hair/makeup. I looked like myself, but a better version. It was natural, like I wanted but also elegant and bold also. I truly felt beautiful and like a bride. She truly executed all my hopes and wedding visions, better than I had imagined. My makeup and hair stayed exactly as they were at 11am until I went to sleep at 1am.   I can't thank Celeste enough for everything. Celeste did such an amazing job on both my hair (bridal), and my bridal party for my wedding day! Celeste and I did a trial a month before the big day and it was so perfect, she had me very very excited for the big day and I wasn't disappointed! We had a big group and tight deadline on when we needed to have everyone done by, and she was even so accommodating by helping find a bring a third stylist for the morning to make sure we were able to complete everyone on time - after I didn't ask her to add the third stylist until the week of the wedding (Thanks again Celeste!!!). Her and her team of Vanessa and Dori were just so fantastic and listened to all the girls on how everyone wanted their hair and make-up done, and everyone was beyond happy with how it all went, and they finished up exactly on time. I also am not a huge make-up wearer and wanted to make sure I looked polished and like myself but still made-up on my wedding day and Celeste delivered, she did such a great job with my look making me feel like I looked very natural and didn't make me feel like I was wearing pounds of makeup. Also, our wedding began at 3pm which meant we were all starting hair and make-up around 7:15am, and the hair and make-up stood the test of a hot-humid outdoor wedding until we finished partying around 2am!! I was so impressed at how we all still looked fresh and styled even after hours of dancing and being outdoors with the sun and wind. I am so happy that we went with Celeste for our beauty as it was such an amazing experience, they did a fantastic job on everyone, and really listened to help understand what everyone's different styles and likes were to make sure that everyone felt like their best self and had that confidence to add onto the great hair and make-up that the team did for us.

I think Celeste has a wonderful personality however, she ran over her allocated time by 40 minutes and did not follow the pictures I showed her. It was me and 3 girls getting hair and makeup. Everyone was ready when they arrived with pictures and all. We started right away yet, they ran 40 minutes late which caused me to miss out on pictures I wanted and set a terrible tone for the day. Everything was rushed. When planning for the day I told her to come as early as she needed, there were not restrictions on my end that would have caused the delay. ALSO, I gave her pictures for hair and makeup and she DID NOT follow them at all. The work she did was beautiful but not what I wanted. Then add in that they were running late and she couldn't fix it. I wish I could include pictures on this review so you could see the difference. IF you do use her, my advice would be to go with looks she has in her gallery so you know she can do them and ask her to come an hour earlier than she thinks she needs to come. All in all, the delay and not having what I wanted put a damper on the day, I wish I didn't let it get to me so much but there's no chance to get back those pictures that I wanted to capture.

Celeste and her team (3 stylists total) did an amazing job on my 8 bridesmaids and me and was so surprised how timely and efficient they were! I didn’t have to worry about timing at all. I wasn’t crazy about my trial and was really nervous about the day of, but I sent notes of what I wanted changed and made a few edits of what I wanted for my hair. Celeste took all my notes into consideration and really worked with me. My make up was outstanding. I wasn’t too crazy about my hair, it wasn’t exactly what I wanted but it still looked great! The only reason for 4 stars was for my hair not being exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend Celeste and couldn’t have asked for a nicer and sweeter stylist. She was so calm and took my worries away!

I'm so glad I finally have the time to review Celeste and her team of amazing pros. Celeste and her team did the makeup for my bridal party, mother in law, and mother for my August wedding. She was amazing from start to finish. She was flexible and patient in coordinating the number of people I would get done, as well as accommodating last minute addition. She came early and prepared with a boom box, floor length mirror and collapsible makeup chairs (everyone was so impressed!!) which really was so helpful since we were getting ready at my parent's house which doesn't come equipped with all of the normal staging area equipment. On top of being so easy to work with, Celeste and her team did a phenomenal job. Everyone said I had the prettiest wedding party and I couldn't agree more. I definitely would recommend everyone book ASAP.

Celeste was so wonderful on the day of my wedding. She went above and beyond. I was actually very sick during my wedding. I had a stomach virus and was in the ER the day before my ceremony. I was still sick and weak the day of my wedding and Celeste was beyond fantastic. She was able to do my makeup while I was lying in bed and she kept taking breaks for me to drink and take medicine. She did a phenomenal job. I obviously felt pretty awful but you would never know from the pictures! She did a fantastic job on my makeup. She listened to what I wanted and adjusted for new concerns. I was definitely glad we did a trial appointment a few months before the big day so she knew exactly what I wanted. She was even able to cover up a bruise on my arm from the IV the day before. We hired her by the hour to stay after the ceremony for additional pictures so she could do touchups on makeup and hair for the bridal party and me. We were so fortunate that she could stay because as it turns out, while taking pictures, a bee flew into my sister’s hair and we completely ruined her up do trying to get it out! Celeste was able to completely redo her hair before the reception started. Having Celeste there was seriously one of the best decisions we made regarding the wedding. She repeatedly saved the day!! I can’t recommend her enough to any bride/bridal party. She stayed calm through all the chaos and her gentle “go with the flow” attitude was exactly what we needed! Just know in advance that she communicates almost exclusively through email, so make sure you stay caught up when communicating with her.

Celeste was absolutely amazing! I loved everything about my hair and makeup (and all of my girls were happy with theirs as well). She really takes her time and is super thoughtful when it comes to choosing the right colors to match skin tones, eyes, etc. for makeup. I loved the airbrush foundation - it looked awesome. I never thought I had much hair, especially for an updo, but she made me look like I had tons and everyone was complementing me on how great I looked. I could not be happier with my experience. Celeste is incredible and I can't recommend her enough! She immediately understood my vision and made me feel sooooo beautiful on my wedding day! She is a true artist. The hair and makeup looked flawless but also very natural - I still felt and looked like myself, but just a more glammed up version. I also brought hair extensions to my trial and Celeste was very accommodating and supportive in working with them. What I appreciate most is Celeste's versatility: she can really adapt to the style and desires of every member of your wedding party. My mom, for instance, never wears makeup and she was a bit reticent at first (actually she didn't even want to have her hair and makeup done but I convinced her!), but then she was beyond happy with the results! Celeste totally understood the kind of natural and understated look that my mom wanted to go for and made her feel so beautiful! She was so happy all night! My mother in law had a different style - she wears makeup often and enjoys a more glamorous look - and Celeste realized her vision soooo well too! That was amazing to see: how she gets every person's style and gives them what they want and feel comfortable with. We all felt amazing, and the hair and makeup lasted all night! Last but not least, Celeste is such a warm and calm presence. We really enjoyed spending time with her and I'm so happy to have gotten to know her. Thank you once again, Celeste!

I cannot thank Celeste enough for cooperating with my ever changing bridal party. She was with me every step of the way ensuring my day went great. She even was there when i had a hair emergency and talked me through everything ensuring it would be ok. Celeste and her team did all 5 of my bridesmaids hair, my moms hair and makeup, MIL makeup, as well as sister and MOH makeup. With a full day, she never complained or got tired, but rather did amazing! everyone loved their hair and makeup as well as i. My hair and makeup stayed all night even through the dancing and jumping. I cant say enough about celeste and her team.

I hired Celeste and two of her assistants to do my bridal party’s hair and makeup for my wedding day on 12/31/16. Celeste did my hair and makeup, and I also completed two trials with her a few months before the wedding. From the moment I met Celeste, I knew she was the right choice! She is incredibly calm, patient, and strives to make sure you are incredibly happy with your look. She is also very talented and knowledgeable about different hair and skin types, since she does a ton of weddings and events, but also works on models for photo shoots. Celeste was comfortable working with my clip-in hair extensions for my thin hair, both in a down-do and in an up-do. I changed my mind on what look I wanted after my first trial, so Celeste was happy to do a second trial with me at which we changed the look of my hair completely and it came out beautiful! On the wedding day, Celeste arrived at my wedding venue early with two assistants to help tackle my large wedding party. Her team stayed on a timeline with patience, kindness, and humor - they were wonderful to work with! Everyone in my bridal party, along with my mom and mother-in-law, were thrilled with their final looks, and everyone’s hair and makeup stayed all day (close to 19 hours!), even for the girls that styled their hair down, and even after we took photos outside in the wind. I cannot recommend Celeste enough!

Celeste is amazing. I booked her before I did a trial, and I knew during my trial that I chose well. Celeste is a beauty with a great eye for beauty, but she never makes you feel like less - she's calm, sweet, and supportive. And talented. I don't consider myself a pretty girl, but she made me feel beautiful on my wedding day. She was also more than willing to make adjustments for what I wanted. Terrific. Sonia (Celeste) did the makeup for my bridal party and myself for my wedding this November (2016). She was wonderful! She was so calm and professional, making sure that everything was done exactly as we wanted it. It was great having her onsite as well! I had gone back and forth about having onsite makeup because of the cost of them, but Sonia's prices were some of the best out there. I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup, I couldn't have been more pleased. She even gave me a touch-up kit, with everything I could need for the reception. She and her assistant arrived early, got everyone done in the time allotted, and were so nice and fun to work with. Thank you Sonia!!

Celeste was amazing!! My day of coordinator recommended her to me, and I'm glad she did! I first met Celeste for my trial. She was very nice and took her time trying to understand what I was looking for. When I was unsure of part of my hairstyle, she offered to redo it. I told her not to worry, and we took another try on my wedding day and it turned out PERFECTLY! I found Celeste through a suggestion from a family friend. We had Celeste and her 2 assistants do hair and makeup for the bride, bridesmaids and moms in Westchester, NY. Everyone looked absolutely gorgeous, natural, and felt incredibly comfortable. Celeste was very responsive, flexible and easy to work with. At the trial, Celeste was very helpful in coming up with suggestions, as I (the bride) wasn't clear on what makeup look and hairstyle I wanted to go with. She looked at pictures of the dress and venue to understand the overall aesthetic. During the morning of the wedding, Celeste's calming personality was definitely helpful! We had plenty of time for the bridesmaids to provide input on their makeup and hair looks, and get touchups as well. Everyone received eyelashes included in the price, and airbrush makeup was also an option for an additional fee. Many of the bridesmaids weren't sure exactly how they wanted their makeup and hair, and Celeste and her assistants had great ideas for all. Everyone's hair and makeup lasted all day and night! Celeste also provided me (bride) with a touch up kit! I would highly recommend Celeste!

Celeste was wonderful! She did my hair and makeup for the wedding, and my bridesmaids had their hair done by her and her assistant. She really listened to my concerns throughout and was able to work with them--for example, I don't wear a lot of makeup, and hadn't ever worn false eyelashes--and she made me look and feel beautiful on my wedding day. She and her assistant were so sweet, and getting ready with them was very pleasant. Doing a hair and makeup trial with her two months before the wedding was also a great idea and made me feel confident that I would look great at my wedding. Definitely recommended!

ALL AROUND AMAZING: There are so many countless decisions and details to worry about on your wedding day but your hair does not need to be one of them, if you use Celeste and her team. I hired Celeste to do my bridesmaid’s, mother's, and my hair for my wedding this summer. The images of her work, outstanding reviews, and competitive pricing lead me to choose her for a trial. She was able to conceptualize the look I was going for on her first attempt and provided other important hair care advice. Leading up to the day of the wedding, I continued to be impressed with her timely responses and attention to details. She worked with my hair stylist (at the salon I go to) and myself to adjusting the hair extensions to the correct size based on the hairstyle I had chosen. She even offered to prep the extensions prior to the wedding allowing for more time the day of the wedding. All of the positive interactions I had with Celeste prior to the wedding did not do justice to the quality of work and professionalism Celeste provided on the day of my wedding- She out did herself! Her and another stylist arrived on time to my hotel and quickly set up in an area of the suite. She worked efficiently while consulting with all the girls to provide the best hairstyle for each. She would happily make tweaks should one of the girls change their mind. I also watched as her and the other stylist would independently make periodic adjustments or touch up to the girl’s hair prior to leaving for the venue. Celeste recreated the hair she did for me at the trial only better (as if that were possible). She asked me questions about details of placement of hair strands and flowers. She provided her professional input but deferred to my wishes. You can tell they take pride in their work and want you to look your best. My hair and my bridesmaid hair lasted all night and we received many compliments. The whole bridal party was ecstatic with quality of work Celeste provided. Celeste was the epitome of professionalism and I cannot say enough good things about her. Thank you Celeste for amazing hairstyles and being so kind and patient with 7 women, whom have many opinions about their hair. You were calming presences.

I can't thank Celeste enough for making myself and my bridesmaids look incredible for my wedding in Catskill NY in June 2016! She and her assistant were in charge of all hair/makeup for my bridal party, and Celeste personally did both my hair and makeup--both of them did amazing work and everyone looked stunning. I could not be happier with how I looked on my wedding day--she truly is an artist. I also completely changed my hair idea in between the trial and wedding--I added a veil so we needed to change the style completely. I gave her some ideas and photos of the new style, and she went with it. It turned out better than I ever dreamed and I am the happiest newlywed because of her. I had a wonderful experience with Celeste!! After having a trial with her I knew right away that I wanted her to do my hair and makeup on my wedding day! She is extremely friendly, easy to talk to, was very quick to respond to emails and answer any questions that I had. She understood the style I was looking for exactly. Her work is amazing! I was married on June 4 at West Hills Country Club. Celeste arrived early and ready to go! Her and her assistant were wonderful and a pleasure to be around while we got ready- we listened to james brown all morning :) I received compliments all night ! I would highly recommend Celeste!!

The best hair and makeup for both me and my bridal party! Celeste will do a trial with you and video tape it from all angles so you can see what you love, or what you dont like. She takes her time and will try several different looks with you. I felt absolutely gorgeous on my wedding day and the compliments kept coming! I am recommending her to all of my friends!!

Celeste is wonderful to work with. When we couldn't come up with a day for me to visit her for a trial, she came to Stamford. From first meet, Celeste is very kind and patient. She definitely brings a very calming energy as you get ready, much needed on your wedding day. My makeup was perfect the entire day, her airbrush work stayed exactly as she first did it through humid weather and dancing. My hair exactly the same. Stayed put passed the reception. My girls all looked gorgeous. Even the most finicky girl who is hesitant to get he hair done, loved it. My mom was stunning all night! Thank you so much Celeste. Dori did my makeup and also blowouts/makeup for my bridesmaids at my wedding. Dori is amazing at makeup and was very attentive to my preferences, but also made sure that I looked my best on my wedding day! I really appreciated that she was able to select makeup that worked well for me, but also listened and responded to my own personal preferences. I felt great on my wedding day and it is the best professional makeup experience I have had! I ended up going with another stylist for hair because I wanted an updo and couldn't quite find the style I liked. But I think this was partly because I kept changing my mind. Celeste and Dori were extremely professional, responsive, and dependable. I would definitely recommend this vendor!

Celeste is the most amazing hair and make-up artist I have ever encountered! I would absolutely recommend her for everyone. I loved the way I looked on my wedding day and every time I see the photos, I'm filled with the same happiness I felt on that day! My entire family (very critical in general) was thrilled with her. We were all so impressed with her expertise and professionalism and calm demeanor. She has a soothing, wonderful presence that put me at ease on my wedding day and also during the trial. She's a must-have for discriminating brides and does nuanced careful work! I did very thorough research on hair and make-up artists beforehand. I'm careful about the vendors I choose to work with. Celeste's reviews were wonderful, so I had high expectations, and she totally exceeded them! Absolutely THRILLED.
