one of our more fun wedding-planning sessions. Ella was super easy to work with: our dream cake was a Russian Honeycake, which is a little out there, but Ella helped us come close to it with a honey spice cake with a lemony buttercream. The decision to do a *take* on Russian Honeycake instead of the actual thing was a wise one–Ella advised us that the cream which usually covers a Russian honeycake wouldn’t hold up well for a full wedding day, and I think she was absolutely on it about that. For our actual day, Ella made a beautiful and SUPER YUMMY cake with painterly green swooshes and rose gold foil on it. Our guests loved it (and so did we!) and the serving size Ella recommended was right on it (with enough leftovers for us to take a bit home with us too!). 10/10 experience! Would highly recommend!

find a baker for our wedding cake. Most options were super extravagant, overcomplicated, difficult to book, etc. Ella’s website had her number listed, so I gave her a call, and she put me right at ease. She was able to make a beautiful cake for us, and came in at ⅔ the price of other vendors. It was very important to us that we have a delicious cake with a wonderful texture and interesting flavors—not just something pretty! Ella delivered in that department, our sample box was gone super fast because everything was SO delicious! Working with her was easy and quick, she was always responsive and kind, and the finished product was absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Ella!

beautiful, but more importantly delicious! Because of downsizing our wedding, we ordered a cake that would feed double the number of people who came to our wedding. My husband and I thought that would mean we would get to enjoy lots of leftover slices...wrong. So many family members requested extra slices to go home with them because the cake was so delicious! We also ordered an array of cookies for our rehearsal dinner, which were delicious too. Having grown up in Charlotte and tasted cakes all around town, I can tell you that Celestial Cakery is the real deal and a welcome addition to the Queen City!

ngle layer wedding cake came out - asked for textured ruffles and it didn't turn out like the photo we requested. Overall, desserts and cake are delicious, just expected more out of the cake design!

And they updated our order after our final guest count came in lower than we expected. And the most important part: the cake was so tasty! We had a friend who recommend Publix for a cheap but tasty cake. It's probably a good option for a basic white wedding cake, but Celestial offered such a great variety of cake and frosting flavors and of course the design if you want something truly special! We thought the value for the cake was actually really good - the cost for something with great design and the specific flavor combinations we wanted was definitely worthwhile and not overpriced.

Scheduling our cake tasting was easy and we were provided with a list of flavors to choose from in advance. My husband and I were able to choose our wedding cake flavors and cake style in 30 minutes. Everything was flawlessly setup and explained, and the process of ordering was easy as well. The cake itself turned out beautiful, and we had guests who do not typically eat cake, even raving about how delicious the cake was! We were super excited to find out that they had opened up a cupcake shop close to our house also. Who needs to wait until their 1st anniversary to eat their wedding cake? We indulge all the time!

ions in the vegan category. We were really pleased with all aspects of the service. Many of our guests were thrilled with the cake. We even had families with non cake eating toddlers devouring this cake. We couldn't have gone with a better cakery.

cake they delivered was no where close to what we ordered and the second layer was completley bare. Ontop of all of this the flavors were not what we ordered. I tried to live with this disappointment, honestly for fear of snapping at them for ruining the one major input I wanted for my reception. After a while I couldn't get over this for the amount of money we paid for their services so I reached out to see what had happened. They confirmed that they messed up and didn't update the order form, they offered me a refund or a cake for a differnt event, as I don't live in NC currently another cake was kind of pointless. I talked with my husband and messaged them back about a week later saying I would like the refund and to please contact me before processing ig as we had changed over several accounts in this time. A week goes by, I don't hear from them so I sent out another email and finally heard back from the husband in a passive aggressive tone that they processed the refund and it should be back on the card we paid with. They didn't even have the courtesy to message me first before issuing the refund like I requested to make sure the card they were putting it in was active. Everything escalated from there, they know I don't live in NC and several times said things like "if the refund doesn't go through you can come pick up a gift card in person at the shop" and the last one after I let them know how utterly unhelpful they have been and I won't be needing their services in the future, he tells me to come pick up a cupcake at the shop next time I'm in the city. It's just beyond disrespectful and not a great way to run a business which is such a shame because I know Ella is talented but her husband is not great at dealing with customer service and has no reason to talk to customers they have screwed over like that. Find another baker is my recommendation, I will never have my dream wedding cake because of them. The literal only wedding dream that I've ever had. I've never been into the ideal big wedding hype but I've always said I want a special cake for the reception. Thats it. One thing. Ruined, and then treated like crap, or like a joke afterwards.

Our wedding cake was not only delicious but also beautiful! I believe there were more photos taken of the cake than of me and my husband because of how beautiful the cake was. Our guests couldn't stop talking about it! Thank you, Ella and Curtis, for making our day so special!

For our rehearsal dinner, I surprised my now husband with a Grateful Dead themed grooms cake, and they knocked it out of the park. On top of the actual cakes and desserts, the customer service we received was exceptional. I completely forgot to pay the security deposit for the cake stand rentals and freaked out about not having a wedding cake. They completely took my stress away and made sure we still received everything that we had ordered, despite my forgetfulness leading right up to the wedding. We couldn’t have asked for a better vendor to handle our cakes and desserts, and we plan to use Ella and Curtis for future cakes.

vors we tried were delicious. However, we decided to go with the lemon cake. It was not a punch you in the mouth lemon, but just light and subtle. Our cake was a 4 tier lemon cake with raspberry jam filling with a cream cheese frosting. Everyone at our wedding loved it, in fact, there wasn't much left! We cannot wait to try our One Year tier. Thank you Celestial Cakery for the best wedding cake I have ever had. You guys are amazing!!

! We had a small two tier cake and about 75 cupcakes. She captured every small detail we wanted in our wedding cake, and it was beyond delicious! Everyone raved about the cupcakes as well. I would definitely recommend Celestial Cakery to anyone needing a beautiful and delicious cake.

good. On top of that, I wanted something that aesthetically was a little more modern than a traditional wedding cake. We settled on an asymmetrical design with Ella during the tasting, but I had no idea what I wanted the decor to be. Just two days before the wedding, I decided that it should be a grouping of branches and contemporary looking flowers. I had NO IDEA how they'd look on a cake, but once I saw them at the flower shop, I knew that was it. We took a chance and had my fiance hand deliver a random grouping of these huge branches/florals to their house the day before the wedding. I trusted their expertise and didn't give a word of direction as to how apply them! When we arrived to the reception, we were COMPLETELY blown away. The cake was one of my favorite things about our entire reception decor ... They truly exceeded our expectations, listened to my random creative vision, and brought to life something that was modern, original and perfect for us. We got compliments all night on how tasty the cake was (and couldn't stop eating our portion when we got to the hotel later that night). We HIGHLY recommend Ella and Curtis! And as hard as it is on your day, let them take creative liberty - you won't regret it!

picked Celestial Cakery because of their flexibility. In my opinion, flexibility/customer service is the best thing you can look for in a vendor and Celestial Cakery had it. As the requests from our families changed, Celestial Cakery happily offered more information/changed our order. They offered so many flavors and frostings - and the ability to mix and match - that it was able to satisfy all the requests we were getting. I also loved that they did online invoices - no check needed! In an industry that is still very cash/check based it was AWESOME to have the credit card option and to pay the invoice online! While I don't like cake and can't speak to the flavor of it - I do LOVE frosting and their frosting was DELICIOUS. Highly recommend Ella and Curtis - professional, tech savvy, and, most importantly, flexible!

and had done 4 other cake tastings while I was in town. After the 4th tasting, I just wasn't sold on any of them. I went back to The Knot list I had made and saw Celestial Cakery and decided to reach out as a Hail Mary to get a last minute appointment. Curtis responded immediately and figured out a way to fit us in the next day because I was leaving the following day. I am SO happy that we were able to get an appointment for a tasting because Ella's cakes were delicious!! She had creative and innovative flavors that really were outside of the box. Her designs were gorgeous and she understood exactly the look I wanted and offered suggestions on how to accomplish the look. On top of all of that, her pricing was the most reasonable. It was a no-brainer for us to choose her. I also asked her about doing a Groom's cake and we came up with a great option for my husband. She knew how to make a Golden State Warriors cake that didn't look like a child's birthday party cake. Our cake was gorgeous!! Pinterest perfect. And there wasn't any leftover so I think everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. Thank you Ella and Curtis!!

hat the vibe of the wedding was and made the perfect design choices. She even made two apple and two strawberry rhubarb pies for me to surprise my husband with at the reception. Her customer service is amazing and you can't be her delicious cakes!

ake not being overly-iced and Ella certainly did a great job of giving us a partially-naked cake! The mini desserts were a HUGE hit with our guests and were definitely worth the money! Ella & Curtis were nothing but responsive throughout the whole ordering/delivery process and definitely took a lot of care in delivering our cake/desserts without a scratch! Scheduling the tasting was super convenient and we really enjoyed getting to create a custom cake with the flavors we chose. I absolutely would recommend The Celestial Cakery for anyone's celebration cake/dessert needs!

tier. The cake was absolutely beautiful and each tier was delicious. I'm not ashamed to say I ate some of each one on my wedding day and even had the hotel put some in the wedding suite for after! I still couldn't tell you which flavor I loved more the salted caramel, butter pecan or orange.
