Celestine is an intimate restaurant wedding venue located in Brooklyn's DUMBO neighborhood. Tucked beneath the Manhattan Bridge on the edge of the East River, our floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping views of the downtown skyline and the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. While the days are sun-drenched, the evenings yield stunning sunsets and a glimmering city beyond the river.
Our space:
Our dining room’s design is inspired by Lebanon in the 60s; pale ash wood contrasts with custom-pressed teal tiles, an abundance of plants, and little personal details like a pair of bronze cats peering out over the copper bar.
Retractable glass doors divide our dining room from our seasonal terrace which sprawls out over the East River and the Brooklyn Bridge Park. The space is surrounded by a lush planter which features a bounty of herbs, grasses, and small flowering plants from the North-East. It’s a gorgeous space for an on-site ceremony or cocktail hour, and it’s part of any private event held here.
Our cuisine:
Beyond our physical space, our emphasis is on excellent food and warm, gracious hospitality. We want you and your guests to feel completely at ease from the moment you walk through our doors. Our family-style menus take inspiration from the Mediterannean coastline, northern Africa, and the Middle East; highlights include our mezze dishes like hummus and pistachio feta spread, whole grilled fish with preserved lemon and gold nugget potatoes, grilled flat iron steak with harissa romesco, and pistachio halva cremeux.
Our wine list solely features wines from small, natural producers of the coastal Meditarranean region. Our cocktail menu highlights delicious riffs on classic drinks (think G&T’s with Turmeric and Lemongrass) and beers from local producers like Other Half and Folksbier.
Our pricing:
We don't charge room or site fees. Our per person pricing is designed to cover almost everything - from the cocktail hour to the dinner and an open bar. While you are totally welcome to look into additional decor details, everything that is used for service is included in your private event. This covers the basics like glassware, plates, flatware, and napkins, but it also covers use of our votive candles and our small bud vases. We're also happy to create and print personalized menus for your event in house.
While our events begin at four hours, you are welcome to extend by the hour. Daytime events typically conclude by 4pm, while evening events can last until midnight. On-site ceremonies incur a fee, though this also covers an additional half hour of live event time and the ceremony-specific set-up and breakdown of the space by our staff.
New York sales tax, a 20% gratuity, and a 4% administrative fee are applied to event subtotals.

fect. Our guests were raving about the gorgeous venue, the beautifully set tables, the attentive staff, and the delicious meal, and we couldn’t agree more.
A special thank you to Rose, whose attention to detail, organization, and constant communication throughout the planning process helped us feel at ease and truly excited for the big day. And to Iliana, we are so grateful for her calm coordination, professionalism, and support on the wedding day itself—she made everything run effortlessly.
The entire Celestine team helped create an atmosphere that was both elegant and welcoming, and we’ll always remember how special the day felt. Celestine will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We couldn’t recommend this venue more highly to any couple looking for a stunning space, incredible food, and a truly dedicated team!

ional and they also really know how to throw an amazing party. Our guests told us all night that it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to and that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding (of course!!!). Lots of guests told us they were excited to come back for dinner soon. Rose and Krystle especially need a shoutout as they were so communicative, kind, and organized from the start, and were truly a joy to work with. Highly, highly recommend for dinner, brunch, and your big day!!

rom day one. I was at ease the entire time we worked together and never worried once about them, the venue, or the food/alcohol. A few highlights:
- We had a brunch time wedding and they worked with us to do a custom "Bloody Married" Bar as one of our signature drinks for no extra charge. The guests loved it and it was the only Bloody Mary I've ever liked.
- Everyone is still raving about the food. The tasting was one of the best experiences! The entire team is so kind, generous, and patient, as well as thoughtful about allergies and dietary restrictions. Any guests with allergies/restrictions were well taken care of. Besides the cocktail hour, our wedding ended up being accidentally vegetarian because their vegetables, pasta, and mezze are just THAT good. And no one even knew but us!
- We did tons of DIY decor/florals and Celestine helped our day of coordinator/family set everything up. My vision was executed better than I could've imagined. The day before the wedding, I added a memorial sign for a relative that recently passed and Nisrine went above and beyond to make sure it looked nice and put candles and flowers around it. They also have gorgeous bud vases with fresh, seasonal flowers that are included with your event.
- We didn't have a DJ, just Spotify, and their in-house AV tech, Brent, went above and beyond to make sure everything was executed perfectly. When we wanted to change things around mid-event, he didn't even bat an eye and made it go on flawlessly. Before the event, he provided a comprehensive form for us to fill out so we could indicate how he should announce us, when to play songs, etc. I would hire him and pay much more than he charged in an instant!
- Nisrine (and Rose) was constantly perfecting things and checking in how us and our families were doing leading up to the wedding and day of. When she realized my husband hadn't had any coffee by mid-day she ran and personally got him some.
- The pricing was incredibly fair, especially for NYC. We never dreamed we could have a beautiful wedding on the water in Brooklyn, but Celestine made it possible. They are also very honest, as when they accidentally charged us $200 more than needed, they immediately refunded us before we even had a moment to ask. Again, if you're on the fence, just do it!! You won't regret it.
We fell in love with Celestine as soon as we walked in through the door, and continue to love it almost 2 years after our initial reservation to see the space.

w coordinated our small wedding reception flawlessly. From the first email, Nisrine was more than happy to discuss options with us to work within our budget and unusual timeframe (weekday lunch reception), and ultimately, the staff at Celestine went well above and beyond what we discussed and imagined would be the final product. In the end, all we needed to add to the venue were some small decorations/flowers, a photographer, and a DJ--Celestine knocked the rest out of the park.
Firstly, the food: divine mediterranean fare that is contemporary, clean, and light on the stomach, which you need if you're going to dance! We opted for stations which were continuously filled until everyone had enough (and I know guests went back for multiple rounds). The meat, fish, and vegetables were as fresh and delicious as when you order them for a regular dinner at Celestine, and dessert was perfect. And their mezze spreads remain the best I have ever had.
Now, the drinks: well made, not overly heavy on alcohol, tasty, and with plenty of options for everyone across the spectrum including non-alcoholic mixed drinks, coffees, teas, and soft drinks, and water. Servers passed drinks around continuously, so you never had to look far to get something, which many folks really appreciated, and there were two bar setups in the space (indoor and outdoor).
The service was smooth and required nothing from us. Robert kept the day flowing perfectly, coming to let us know when it would be time for food and speeches, etc and would check in periodically to make sure things were going well. We were free to otherwise enjoy our day, which means the world on a day like that. We love the staff at Celestine, they are always so warm and gracious, and their hospitality is what sold us in the first place.
Finally, the venue itself: floor to ceiling windows with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline and Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, situated right on the East River waterfront and steps away from the DUMBO TimeOut Market and Brooklyn Bridge Park and Carousel for awesome photos. The space itself is clean, contemporary, and feels much bigger than its actual footprint, which can still accommodate many guests in addition to stations and a dance floor. It's air-conditioned for the summer, but the windows can also be opened for a nice day. There are some downsides as it is still a NYC restaurant--you will hear the subway if windows are open, there's small bathrooms (which may be a limiting step, although we didn't find it much of an issue), and the nearby park means that the public will be around, depending on the time and day.
Overall, we love Celestine. It's an absolute gem and a steal for the price, and most importantly, the team is wonderful and works to ensure your entire planning process and day is stress-free. And they deliver! This NYC couple is forever grateful for the perfect NYC reception.

ce, flexibility in stormy weather - everything. Our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful the views and venue were and how great the food and drinks were.
Nisrine, Kirsten, Robert, and the rest of the team were wonderful and helped make our day amazing. We had a lot of quick changes in the setup of the wedding due to a major storm and we barely noticed. Not stressful for us at all.
Nisrine and Kirsten worked with our vendors and deliveries to make sure they had everything they needed on the day. Our vendors were all very excited to work with Celestine, both the ones who had worked with them before and those who hadn't. ("I've been wanting to work on a wedding there!" - one said).
We've eaten at Celestine a few time outside of our wedding and have always loved the food and had fantastic service.

working together - always super responsive, professional, and friendly. They took COVID-19 safety protocols very seriously which helped put our minds at ease during such an uncertain time. We felt like we were in great hands at every step of the way. For example, when we had to delay the start of our ceremony due to some issues with our DJ's equipment which would in turn impact the rest of the day's schedule, we did not stress at all because we knew everything was in good hands with Nisrine and her team. Many of our guests said it was the best food, drinks, and service at a wedding they've ever experienced - and we couldn't agree more! The incredible views - on display at every angle from the terrace and through the floor to ceiling windows - were the cherry on top!
