They were SO AMAZING! Elise was so easy to work with, and very personable. The musicians were all extremely talented, and they even worked with my friend so she could sing a song during our wedding ceremony with their accompaniment. We got so many compliments on the musicians and their beautiful music. They lent such an air of elegance and magic to our wedding day.

We loved having Celic music for our wedding! They were highly professional and flexible to however we wanted the night to go. Our guests are still talking about it! 10/10!

We hired a five-piece ensemble for our wedding, and they played before the ceremony, our recessional, reception cocktail hour, "first dance," and during dinner. The music was beautiful, and not only were the musicians exceptional and first-rate professionally, they seemed to enjoy themselves, too, rather than simply playing another "gig." The coordinator, Elise Kress, was instrumental in helping us plan the music portion of the wedding and reception. Our guests were as impressed and as enchanted as we were. The Celtic trio who played for my son's rehearsal dinner/welcome party was top notch! The music during the dinner was beautiful and then they played some livelier songs during the party portion of our event which had our guests singing, clapping, and dancing along. USA bride and UK groom, living in Manchester and getting married in Virginia we had a very unique vision for our wedding, and having a ceilidh was a high priority. When we met Elise (on Skype) we knew our vision was going to be a dream come true! Elise was so much fun to work with and was very flexible. Elise and the musicians that she brought along with her played for our ceremony, they were able to learn Towers by Bon Iver for my walk out song -it was beautiful! All of our guests commented on how lovely the music sounded during our ceremony (We had a fiddle/guitar/ flute). Then when the ceremony was over and the party was ready to begin Elise and the other musicians and caller guided us through an unbelievable Irish ceilidh and it was too much fun!!! All of our guests loved it and it is an amazing way to get worlds to collide- the photos are amazing!! Seeing college friends from Colorado dancing with the Groom's father from the UK is soooo much fun!! If you want lovely live music, a very friendly talented group of musicians, and/or a very fun dance party Elise is the perfect fit for you!

As a lover of Celtic music, I knew I wanted it to be part of my wedding. Elise was absolutely amazing! She was incredibly responsive & collaborative! On top of using the songs in her and her team's repertoire, I asked if they could play a new, specific song for my walk down the aisle with my Dad and they did and it was perfection! I booked a harp, fiddle and penny whistle flute for my ceremony and cocktail hour. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the harpist could only play at the ceremony and Elise was kind enough to bring in a guitarist for the cocktail hour so guests could still enjoy a variety of Celtic songs. I highly recommend using Elise and Celtic Music for Your Wedding!

My husband and I hired Elise Kress to provide a ceilidh for our wedding reception including four musicians and a dance caller. They were prompt to arrive, set themselves up and were very self-sufficient. The music was very well-performed and having a dance caller made it easy for our guests to join in the dancing. Everyone who danced enjoyed doing so immensely and those who chose to watch were very entertained. We would strongly recommend Elise and company as entertainment that everyone can enjoy.

They were quite simply awesome! They were extremely easy to work with, helped us pick music to play during the ceremony and provided music during the cocktail hour after the wedding. Elise Kress played at my Celtic-themed wedding recently. She brought four musicians and played for three hours. She and her group completely captured the atmosphere I wanted for the cocktail hour and reception! The music created a lively, fun, and festive atmosphere for our cocktail hour and reception, which was exactly what I wanted! The music was perfect and many of the guests commented on how much they enjoyed it and the celebratory mood it created! For anyone seeking to hire Elise and her band for their wedding, I suggest opting for the caller and the opportunity to learn the group dances. Not having the caller was a missed opportunity to enhance the already great reception experience. Above all, I recommend hiring Elise Kress for any event! She and her band will do a great job!

Elise was a joy to work with during the planning and executed everything perfectly. The music was absolutely beautiful and the dace caller was an amazing addition! The band was a huge bright spot in our wedding!

We hired Elise to play before and during our ceremony in August. She was a pleasure to work with and very responsive. She walked us through the music selection process, provided samples of various song options according to what we were going for, and made sure we were happy with all of our selections. When we decided to have a Scottish theme to our wedding, there was no better choice we could have made for music than Elise Kress and her Celtic Music for Your Wedding ensemble. They were fabulous, played for hours without a break, and even tolerated us and our guests, as Elise's colleague tried to teach us how to perform Scottish dances. Due to Covid, our planned honeymoon to Scotland is not likely to occur until 2022. However, they discussed with us places to go/visit, and have offered to speak to us further in advance of our trip. We could not have been more pleased with their skill, performance and attitude.

Elise and her team came recommended by a musician we personally know. Due to the pandemic the wedding was downsized considerably, and we could only accommodate a bagpiper. She recommended a wonderful musician, Bob Mitchell. We suggested a few tunes and he complemented our choices with tunes from his vast repertoire. His wonderful bagpipe gave a magical touch to the wedding ceremony. We are looking forward to listening to a life concert by Elise and her group in the near future.

This firm helped provide us lovely music for our wedding both for the ceremony and reception outside - as well as a piper as guests were arriving. Elise and her team were top notch, easy to work with and really made an effort to understand exactly what experience we were seeking. Most importantly they played amazingly. They’re best in class professionals that are responsive and very accommodating. We’ve recommended the company to friends and have worked with them for subsequent events well after we were married. They’ve helped arrange Celtic fiddlers for dinner parties and a piper for our son’s birthday.

This trio of marvelous musicians truly capture the spirit of Ireland with their sound. Whether a reel or a rousing sing-along, they have you tapping your toes and clapping hands. They were a pleasant addition to our party.

I'm half Irish and my husband is Italian, so we decided the ceremony and cocktail hour would follow my Irish traditions and the party would follow his. We hired a harpist and a flutist. I'm Irish, but I was not actually familiar with the more traditional tunes, so I needed to research quite a bit. Elise was extremely helpful in her suggestions, and eventually I gave her the reins since she was the expert. I did want two songs played specifically in honor of my father, and they played them beautifully. I walked down the aisle to "Married Life" from the Disney film "Up", which was our overall theme. Unfortunately they were set up on a patio behind the guests, but that was more because the DJ's sound system didn't reach far enough for them to be in front. Overall I'm happy we were able to afford live musicians for the ceremony. It gave it a very special touch and helped me feel a little closer to my dad, who died early 2017.

My husband and I carried an Irish theme throughout our wedding day so we were both very excited to come across Celtic Music for your Wedding. I wrote to Elise and she was always so prompt in getting back to me, answered all of my many questions, sent beautiful tunes to listen to, and was extremely helpful with narrowing down my song selections for the ceremony. We had the pleasure of meeting with Elise in person before our wedding and got to listen to her play which was such a treat! Not only was Elise such a pleasure to work with, she also added new/non Irish songs to her repertoire, per my request. I chose to have the flute/penny whistle, Celtic Harp and Violin. We had an intimate wedding ceremony with just immediate family members and decided late in the game that we wanted to add music. We had some celtic elements in our ceremony (a hand fasting ceremony and my husband wore a kilt) and thought it would be nice to highlight that with some celtic music, which we love as well. We were so grateful that Elise and her colleague Andy were available (I am sure it helped that our wedding was on a Friday :-) ). The music was heavenly and made such an impact for our ceremony. Elise and her team played at our wedding reception, and were great!!! When our friends and family comment on our wedding and reception, they almost always mention the ceilidh dancing--it was one of the most enjoyable parts of the evening for everyone! While we were planning our wedding, we had the thought of finding a way to include ceilidh dancing, but it felt like too much to figure out, as things were moving fast and getting hectic. But we gave it a go... my wife reached out to Elise, and we made arrangements. And we're SO glad we did! Elise was helpful and cooperative as we made arrangements. She was attentive to our emails and questions, explaining what she could do, and offering different options based on what we were planning (i.e. live music during cocktails, and/or DJ music (which she, or we, could arrange), and/or the ceilidh dancing). As the day approached, she was reassuring about the plans, staying in touch herself with our venue manager and day-of coordinator. When I made a check-in call, she assured me that all was on track. Elise even went out of her way to ensure that there would be a music system outside (for outdoor cocktail music; we didn't go for the live cocktail music), and inside for the rest of the DJ'ed music and the ceilidh dancing (live music). Furthermore, she received 3 Spotify playlists that we'd put together, and had those ready for DJ'ing. On the big night, everything went off without a hitch. It was great! We were very thankful to her for handling it all so well. We'll always remember the ceilidh dancing... Elise and her band doing song after song, and Elise giving guidance between songs to our guests... our family and friends full of energy and excitement as they laughed and danced, many of them trying something they'd never done before. The great thing about ceilidh dancing is that it got people who probably wouldn't dance to hip-hop and R&B stuff out of their seat, and enjoying the night! We'd definitely recommend Elise and her team!

Elise was fantastic and supported us to plan the perfect music for our ceremony and cocktail hour throughout the process. We appreciated the personal touch that she was able to put into our plans, including learning the Boondock Saints theme song to play as the groom walked out! Having a Celtic flair certainly added a special piece of our heritage to our big day!

Elise and the band were absolutely wonderful for our wedding. Elise was very responsive and is an excellent communicator. I hired the flute, fiddle, and guitar combination. The band showed up on time, played what I asked for the ceremony, had a great song list for the cocktail hour, and are FABULOUS musicians. Their prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering that they have played at the Kennedy Center!! Elise and the band played different songs for the wedding party processional, for me when I walked down the aisle, and then a separate song for the recessional. It was perfect and I loved it. After the ceremony, the band then setup for the cocktail hour. I told Elise that I wanted "Hobbits and Lord of the Dance" type of music and that is exactly what I got! All of our guests loved them. I would absolutely hire them again.

Elise and the Skylark band were a pleasure to work with and their music added so much to our wedding day! We wanted to include some Celtic music on our wedding day as an ode to Scotland, where my husband and I both earned our Master's degrees and were fortunate enough to find Skylark. Elise worked with us on many occasions to select specific songs to play during the ceremony and even coordinated with my mother in law to accompany her during a song she sang in our honor. After dinner, Skylark led our guests in a Ceilidh, which was a unique dancing event that our guests loved. I highly recommend Skylark to any couple looking for a Celtic band to play on their wedding day!

My husband and I wanted something a little less traditional for our ceremony music. We both have some Irish hertiage so we thought a Celtic theme would work. Elise and her team were a joy to work with. She helped us pick the right music for us. It really brought our ceremony together and was perfect! Highly recommended!

We had a 3 person band + dance caller for the Ceilidh at our wedding. The band was excellent and energetic. We appreciated the patience of the dance caller, as we were all beginners. Elise was very accomodating and provided all the music during the wedding, including a nice flute and guitar duo for the wedding ceremony and dinner music. Elise and her two bandmates played our Celtic-Woodland wedding in Pennsylvania in the middle of July and I swear they brought the Irish weather with them! Months ago, when I first reached out to Elise, I knew I'd love her from the start. She was so easy to talk to and walked me through the beautiful music she played over skype and even sent me a CD so I could hear her style. She and her band were flexible with my requests, playing an Irish version of Zac Brown Band's "Home Grown" and Christinia Perri's "A Thousand Years." Our guests were entertained by them during the cocktail hour and the entire set up was something out of a fairytale. THANK YOU Elise and your lovable team of musicians for helping to create the perfect atmosphere for our Irish Wedding!

Skylark Celtic Band played at our daughter's wedding on June 24th. They are outstanding; a truly gifted and versatile group of musicians. We highly recommend them; Elise is lovely to work with and we'd absolutely hire them again for a private event.

I know most wedding website reviews say the same gushing, over the top things about vendors and it gets monotonous. This vendor absolutely deserves every over-the-top thing I could say and more. Elise Kress, and her band "Celtic Music for your Wedding" were superb. She was exquisitely helpful at every stage of the process, clear about pricing, accommodating when we had to change venues relatively late minute, and the music was extremely high quality. She took a request at the wedding itself which we hadn't planned ahead, and sang beautifully. Consummate professional musicians, and a real pleasure to work with. I won't need to plan another wedding, but I'd hire these folks again in an instant, and if I ever need to plan a party with Irish music again, they'll be the first number I call. I sincerely look forward to the pleasure of hearing them again sometime.

You HAVE to get "Celtic Music for your Wedding" for your wedding reception! We just had a Georgetown/DC wedding and Elise from day one was nothing but an absolute and total pleasure to work with! A true professional, she was very motivated to help us to decide how best to add Irish music to the cocktail hour at our daughter's wedding reception. I was not sure about which third instrument we wanted and Elise was so patient and helpful in explaining the different instruments to me and how they would sound; it was above and beyond, to be sure! And the group did not disappoint on the day, all three musicians were so very talented and the music was heavenly. We got rave reviews from our guests and they are still coming in! The Celtic music was enjoyed by all, but our native Irish guests REALLY loved and appreciated this taste of "the old country"! I'd book them again in a heartbeat!

My heritage (as well as the groom's) is Irish, so when we themed our wedding with Irish-related aspects, I knew I wanted traditional Irish music played live. I Googled live traditional Irish bands, and after a short search, landed on the Celtic Music for your Wedding page. I was so excited to reach out to Elise Kress and learn more about her and the band. Meeting her in person and having a live, on-the-spot performance of the music she would play at our wedding sealed the deal for us and even made me cry happy tears! I was so happy to hear the music that sounded like home. You can't go wrong hiring her and the band, and I can't say enough good things about them: They are excellent musicians and everything you want in a wedding vendor. We hired Elise for our vow renewal on Sept. 23, 2016. We wanted something live but not overpowering since it was a smallish gathering. She is such a pleasure to work with--experienced, knowledgeable, and a load of fun. She spent time discussing the atmosphere we wanted to create. She was punctual, professional, and all my guests loved her! Her music was great, ranging from lively jigs to hauntingly beautiful Celtic melodies.
