my husband-to-be and I felt an instant connection with them. We used Elite Sounds for the DJ, by Pat's recommendation, and they were also an amazing choice, who knew the venue well, and the sound system was great for isolating the music when need-be on the dance floor so that others in the other part of the venue could hear better. Pat provided great recommendations as we planned for the day, including how to set up the tables (squares vs. rounds), tablecloths, wine/beer selections, where to set up the food/buffet, parking, etc. He knows his venue, and it was great to have someone we could trust. We were able to get in at 10:30 a.m. in the morning, and were out before midnight, and the day was a breeze because of all of our coordination. Pat was responsive, easy to work with and available on the day, and utterly kind throughout the process. We even had a mishap with one of our floating vases on the floor after the ceremony (someone tripped and it broke and spilled!) and he caused no major fuss and he and his team cleaned it right up. The venue itself is also stunning – from the greenery wall, to the brick walls that can be customized with artwork of your own to the white 3D wall perfect for photo-ops – and Pat was amenable to all of our ideas as we were developing our "aesthetic." We couldn't have found a more perfect venue.

They were also extremely flexible with allowing us to drop things off the day before and were kind enough to hold on to things for us even days after the event. Many of our guests complimented us on the beauty of the space and the friendliness of Pat and the bar staff. Pat & Jodi aside, the area outside the venue have some great views of downtown & the Western Auto sign, a KC landmark. I wish we could relieve it all over again - I wouldn't change a thing! We also had 3 different areas of soft seating which the venue already had and just arranged around the room so guest could enjoy comfortable seating during the party. The dance floor was right in the middle of it all which was so much fun! Our guests still haven’t stopped talking about the beautiful event space and the art gallery which was such a unique aspect of the space. Pat was amazing to work with and truly brought our vision to life while making the process extremely smooth and stress free. Not only this, but if you need a photographer then Jodi Vander Woude also runs her photography studio out of the space so booking both of them for our wedding weekend was the smartest thing we did because the weekend went so smoothly and having both of them working as a team really made things easy on all of us! The weekend was perfect and we couldn’t suggest a better location if you’re looking for a event space!

The reception went off without any issues, and everyone had a great time. Pat and Jodi were there and available the entire evening. The bartenders and service was excellent, nobody had to wait for cocktails. Pat was very accommodating and very easy to work with. He was very flexible with meeting times and had great advice to help make the event run smooth. We would 100% use this space a gain! t. The brick walls and high ceilings are just beautiful. The venue is well kept and I loved the lay out. We had a dance floor, sitting/dinning area and food serving area that they each had their own special nook but still open to each other. Pat the owner was super easy to work with. Met us with the caterer a week early for some last minute details. The venue was open early the day of and Scott the bartender was simply amazing. We need up tipping Scott extra at the end because he was going above and beyond. It was important to us that break down didn't happen until the end and Pat listen to us and made sure that the party continued until our agreed upon time Pat and Scott worked as a team at the end of the night and even asked if we needed help bringing item to the car. We forgot a few items and Pat was easy to get a hold of and he met us at the venue the next day. I would highly recommend this venue, bartender and owner. This comes from someone that had high expectations and they were met.

You probably didn't realize that you want a collage wall filled with formal dog portraits at your wedding, but I can assure you that YOU DO, and 2016 Main has it! We loved this space for so many reasons, but a big deciding factor was because we didn't have to rent any extras! I'm not exaggerating when I say that all we did was add flowers and votives on the tables, rent some linens, and the space looked fully decorated and GORGEOUS! My pictures are beautiful and so so elegant! The owners, Pat and Jodi, will forever be 2 of my very favorite people. They are SO MUCH FUN! They are laid back and will make you feel relaxed and at ease, while also being extremely attentive, focused on details, and quick to communicate. I sent Pat so many questions and changed so many things, and he was always so great about it and responded right away! Pat also acted as our day-of-coordinator. He contacted all of my vendors and arranged everything. I didn't get peppered with any last minute questions from vendors and everyone showed up on time and had everything we needed! Everyone always says that something will go wrong on your wedding day, but honestly, I can't think of ANYTHING that went wrong, and I know that that is in major part due to all of Pat and Jodi's help and planning both leading up to the big day, as well as their assistance the day of! I can't stop re-living the day and looking at our pictures of the venue. Now that the wedding is over, I'm honestly trying to think up a reason to rent the space all over again just to have an excuse to hang out with Pat and Jodi and be surrounded by so much elegance and beauty again. In case I didn't drive the point home, THIS is the venue you want and THESE are the people you want helping you plan! Make your appointment ASAP and go ahead and cancel the others...this is the only space you'll need to see. Take it from the bride who toured 14 wedding venues... ;)

ss free. It was clear from the beginning that Patrick and Jodi take great pride in their space and their ability to host. A few weeks before our wedding we met with Patrick and he walked us through our day including the details. He then asked for all of our vendor contacts and reached out to each- caterer, florist, bakery, etc. He answered all of their venue questions and directed day-of set-up. This was SO helpful. The entire day was executed flawlessly by the couple. I haven’t even mentioned the venue itself. The space is charming and functional, but the details such as Jodi’s displayed photography truly set it over the top. They were present during our entire reception to ensure our night was everything we could have dreamt. We are so very grateful to Patrick and Jodi, their remarkable venue and to our continued friendship with them.

The ceremony was a little tight on space but the reception was PERFECT. The venue is in the perfect spot in the Crossroads with many hotels near by. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out at the venue, I can’t recommend this venue enough!!! We can’t wait to see Pat and Jodi again during first Fridays!!!!

He made sure everything with the mic was set up and worked flawlessly. He would always communicate his availability to come see the venue, stayed on top of me to make sure I schedule a time to come out and do a walk thru of how things will be laid out (basically rehearsing how things will go). HE HAS PARKING! This is a big deal to me because I never ever want guests at my event, inconvenienced and you know how the city can get (especially downtown), parking can really suck sometimes. Overall I can go on and on. The venue is so adorable, everything about it is unique. Patrick is a delight (really personable and caring), and he was there the night of my event to ensure everything played out just as it was in my vision. I couldn't be happier. 1000/10.

Not to mention, my now husband and I moved across the country while planning this wedding, but Pat made it very easy to make phone call appointments and send us any info we asked for. We used his wife, Jodi, as our photographer and she also did a FANTATIC job! Our friends and families gave us so many compliments on the venue, the friendliness of the staff, and how awesome it was to work with Jodi and her assistant photographer, Tessa, while taking photos. 10/10 recommend using this venue and photography for any event. You won't be disappointed!

On the week of he was great for helping us finalize the details and worked with all our vendors. During the reception he made sure every guest was having a great time and that me and my husband had what we needed. The venue itself is more than gorgeous. It was exactly what we pictured. Beautiful and classy with a fun edge with the various pictures and art on display. 2016 Main was everything we could have ever wanted or asked for from the people to the actual space.

They made the room flip from ceremony to the reception a breeze. We loved picking out artwork from their collection to hang as extra decor on the walls too. The location is perfect with easy access to hotels right across the street, ample parking in back, and streetcar access. But most of all, the owner (Pat) was absolutely incredible working with us on changes due to covid-19. From scaling down our wedding size to adjusting the timeframe the week of our wedding due to new city restrictions, he made everything so easy despite all-time high stress levels. He made sure we still had the wedding of our dreams despite all the changes announced by the city mere days before our event. The day-of coordinator made sure everything flowed perfectly, from lighting a million candles on the tables to queuing the bridal party processional. We truly have zero complaints or regrets about 2016 Main. In fact, we originally wanted a different month for our wedding date, but ended up picking our wedding date based on 2016 Main’s availability after falling in love with the space on a tour. Little did we know that would be the best decision we made in wedding planning. We 110% recommend this venue!

f April 18th to October 9th due to COVID. Pat was easy and available to work with during the reschedule process as it was a bit of a scramble. He wanted our day to be perfect as much as we did. The planning was easy, but Pat really shined during the reception. He knew how to keep the event running smoothly between the band and the caterer and anticipated when there was any type of need. We couldn't have asked for a better experience with Pat and Jodi. Our guests were mostly from out of town and couldn't stop complimenting the space and the reception itself, much of which was made possible by Pat. Looking back at the planning process, I can't emphasize enough how important it is to have willing and able vendors to work with. The professional yet casual attitude of Pat and Jodi made it possible for us to enjoy our reception. Everything was perfect.

I'm from the KC area, but live in Austin, TX so I knew that I was going to have my hands full planning a remote wedding, but Pat assured me he was there to help however he could; and he did. When COVID hit, Pat reached out to not only give us updates as to how things in KC were going (since we weren't there to follow), he continued to assure me that nothing would deviate from what I was imagining. Pat and Jodi made sure our day was exactly what I wanted but didn't know. They welcomed our idea of bringing in paintings by my husband's late grandfather and found ways to beautifully incorporate them into the space so they were part of awe that we had. If you're looking for a venue that feels like magic, is elegant and charming, and has people there who genuinely care about how you and your family are, I cannot recommend 2016 Main enough. If you want to throw the wedding that all of your friends afterwards say "that's the best wedding I've ever been to" then this is your place. And if you want to be around some of the most amazing people then look no further. Pat and Jodi are fantastic, and I'm so happy that I got to know them through this.

They were all fantastic, and we couldn't have found more perfect fits for the venue (vendor wise). So take their advice! They were professional, but also warm, inviting, and friendly. And can I say cool? Like you'll want to be friends with them. Ha! They were able to adjust to our needs and made everything so easy for us. For a stressed-out bride.. I'd prescribe Pat and Jodi, and all at 2016 Main Event Space & Art Gallery as your right-hand crew. You will get exactly what you want, and exactly what you paid for. Just to give you an example.. for our bar package we wanted a signature drink requiring raspberry tea. Well.. pat couldn't find any raspberry tea at the store, so he BREWED HIS OWN with fresh iced tea and raspberries! OK, no one gives this kind of customer service anymore. Just an example of the extra mile that they will go for you. And as a last note- if you want a contemporary, quirky, modern, yet classic and antique feel for a venue.. this is it. Look no further! All elements are there for a perfect Ceremony and Reception space.

Nervous at first, but once I met Pat and his wife Jodi to go over things a weight was lifted off my shoulder. They truly went out of their way to make sure our day went smoothly. I've been in, and also to a lot of weddings and this venue takes the cake! I really cannot say enough good things about the space and owners! They also work very well with the vendors, we used Ultrapom and Wildhill for our florist and rentals... OK ill stop rambling but I have so many great things to say about 2016 Main. Lastly, so many guests fell in love with venue as well that night! Stay safe and happy planning to all my fellow Covid brides.

He got things set up, and worked with us so well! The event ran beautifully and smooth, and Pat was there the whole time to make sure that we were doing well. After the event was over, he even took my phone call (this was around midnight), and helped me look for something that was left at the venue. This venue is beautiful, and Pat was great! Look no further than 2016 Main!

It’s in a great location with lodging, food, and tourist attractions nearby for out-of-town guests. It’s on the streetcar loop so transportation is easy. What more could you possibly want?!?! athrooms - every inch of it was gorgeous. We fell in love as soon as we saw it. But just like falling in love, we realized that looks aren’t even the best part. There is so much beauty there that you don’t see in a tour. Pat, Jodi, and Scott were so easy and fun to work with and they treated us with love every step of the way. Every want, need, or concern was addressed. They allowed us to visit whenever we needed during the planning process. We were even showered with words of love and affection from Pat and Scott throughout our reception. 2016 Main is a dream venue, but only because of the angels that run the show. One thousand thank yous, we couldn’t have been happier.

On the day of, not all of my linens arrived. Pat completely took care of it and was in full communication with that vendor, I didn't have to do a thing. When we showed up to the reception, everything was exactly as I had been imagining it in my head for months, and it is ALL thanks to Pat and Jodi. I cannot recommend them, or their space more.
