Take our advice: GET MARRIED AT THE CHALFONTE! We haven't been able to figure out how to fully express how wonderful this venue was (and how invaluable Terry was as our kind and expert leader, plus her amazing team of chefs, servers, and barten...ders), but we're going to try! On the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend, 2019, we had a beautiful late-morning ceremony under the tree in the Chalfonte's back garden, followed by cocktail hour at the hotel's cool King Edward Bar (with refreshing drinks, delicious apps, and plenty of room for guests to lounge in the rockers on the wide, covered porch), and a really fun and festive buffet luncheon in the newly painted Magnolia room. (Sidenote: it was AWESOME not to have to worry about transportation for our guests! And we didn't lose precious time asking people to drive and park between events-- it was all right there, on hotel property!) We then gave everyone time for a late-afternoon nap before meeting up for putt-putt a few blocks away from the Chalfonte and returning to the King Edward Bar for a truly lovely after-party. Terry and her team made everything stress-free: in the days before our wedding, we were able to drop off decorations, flowers, desserts, and other personalized party items at the hotel so that, on the morning of the wedding, Terry's team set up everything, which allowed us and our guests to just relax and enjoy the day. The Chalfonte's Southern / beachside / Victorian charm and whimsical furnishings suited our style completely and made all of our guests feel like we were hanging out in a welcoming and warm home-- it was absolutely perfect! My blood pressure automatically drops when I can enjoy the breeze on the Chalfonte's porch and listen to the clip-clop of horse-drawn carriages go by. PLUS, the Chalfonte provides sooooo much bang for your buck. The value is just incredible. And Terry is, functionally, not only the Chalfonte's wedding director, but she was also basically our wedding planner-- her knowledge of and connection to local vendors really helped us as we coordinated rentals and other vendors for the wedding ceremony. She patiently met with us 1:1 several times over the months leading up to the ceremony, giving us walk-throughs, tastings, and providing consistently prompt and professional responsiveness to our emailed questions, too. Many of our guests told us it was one of the most intimate, relaxing, and personal weddings they had ever attended, and MOST of the credit for that goes to the Chalfonte! Take our advice: book your wedding there! We wouldn't change a thing. :) Thanks, Terry and team! Looking forward to a return trip!!!
