Chanceys turned out to be the perfect place for our wedding! I loved that we could have the ceremony outside in a beautiful, spacious green space with multiple backdrops to get mar...
ried in front of. Then we had the reception inside which is also very spacious and doesn't take alot of decoration to make it look beautiful! Toynette and her staff were very accommodating and responsive with any questions we had. Overall we had a great experience with this venue!
We had our wedding here in September 2018. The owners are very kind, helpful and answered any questions we had. Thank you for helping make our day special and memorable.
Chancey's Event Center was an absolutely beautiful venue to gather friends and family together for our wedding. Toynette and her family were so great to work with. They were there ...
to make sure our day went off without a hitch and lent a helping hand whenever needed. Their care and pride in the facility was evident and they made sure that everything was in its proper place and ready to go when we needed it. I was always comforted in knowing that Toynette would be there to answer any questions I might have had, regardless of how silly it may have been! I would highly recommend Chancey's Event Center to future couples looking for a beautiful and comfortable venue for there wedding.
If you are thinking of going here for your big day, check out the reviews on Yelp. I was at a wedding here last August, the area is pretty, the old guest houses are neat. There w...
as a smell of sewage and very swampy grass between the venue and guest houses, pretty gross. But other than that the place was great. My issue is with the people who run it. After the ceremony, they apparently close off that patch of grass. The reception was pretty loud for my infant son, so I took him outside for some quiet space. Not wanting to go into the septic swamp, or the extremely dusty gravel parking lot, I wandered into the ceremony area with my baby. Just then a lady comes along and informs me that I must stay out of the ceremony area, as it has been closed off. She invites me to take my baby into the gravel parking lot for a quiet space (very dusty as cars had begun leaving), and apologized but said that I had to take him away from the ceremony area, very uptight. Then around 10:00 a short, middle aged rotund man came into the reception dressed like a slob, even wearing a baseball cap and accompanied by the lady who kicked my baby and I out of the ceremony area. They proceeded to harass the groom as he was talking to the dj about payment and fees for such and such. The groom handled it as well as anyone, but he was pretty upset that they would come interupt the reception, eating the food, harassing him about money that wasn't overdue or anything. These people were horrible hosts and have no class. They continued to hang around the ceremony for the rest of the night, really making people feel uncomfortable.
We had such a beautiful day. Wedding venue was stunning. Wonderful people to work with!!! WE loved it, will recommend to all.
I attended a wedding at this venue and while the wedding was beautiful let me tell you about the place:
Lack of professionalism; poor customer service; unethical behavior; withho...
lding security deposit due to a breach in contract without telling the bride/groom many weeks after the wedding; the place stunk like a backed-up sewer; the toilet in the bride's room backed up at one point during the event; a toilet in the ladies room was leaking all over the floor; staff dressed unprofessionally and helped themselves to the food provided for the guests; the staff went through bags in the bridal room where items were taken (don't care that what was taken shouldn't have been there - it was not theirs to take and they did not have permission to go through the closed bags); a camera and necklace went missing from the bride's room - the only time the room was unoccupied was during the wedding ceremony when all guests were attending the wedding and only the staff was inside the event center; guests were required to take garbage out to the dumpsters at the close of the event in a very dark parking lot (no lights - very unsafe -- not to mention the fact that the event center says they handle all clean-up -- this is not true); the bride and groom were unable to take advantage of the room that was included with the price of the venue due to the room smelling like a sewer - more money was spent to get them a hotel in town so they had a place to stay for their wedding night; the staff was still setting up when guests were arriving for the ceremony. If Chancy's had just returned the security deposit I wouldn't be posting this review. In my opinion, Chancy's owes the bride and groom money for false advertisement of their venue. Very unprofessional.
We booked a year in advance and had nothing but trouble with them. No response to emails or calls and when they finally called back, they were very rude. They did not finish what t...
hey said would be done by our wedding day so a lot of our wedding pictures have people working in the background as well as a bulldozer. They never booked our room for the night, even though we had an email for confirmation. Very beautiful place. We loved being out there but the people who manage the building were not friendly and really made the day stressful with saying they lost our deposit, our room, etc. We didn't even get our deposit back because they said that we were out too late even though the hall was perfectly clean by 11:00 pm Would not recommend them for any bride who doesn't want to be stressed out on the most important day of her life!
The wedding was beautiful and the owners were always available and helpful. Little things were troublesome though, she told us the tables would be set and ready at 8 am so we would...
have plenty of time, this was not the case.... we didn't get things ready to decorate until 11! Also, they make you rent EVERYTHING! In the middle of August, my aunt was helping to set up and really needed some water. They charged her to rent a glass to drink tap water from...
They continually promise that certain things will be installed (we booked a year in advance and were told that the Water would be potable, the air conditioners would be installed, the parking lot would be paved, and the area would be lit... none of this happened....) I enjoyed their venue very much and the pictures turn out great, but be SURE to ask them everything and get it in writing!!!
Toy and her staff were absolutely wonderful. They were very helpful and answered any questions we had. They also supplied recommendations for other vendors like a bar, catering, fl...
