ures from the wedding day. Unfortunately I'm disappointed. For one thing he hired a 2nd photographer to help him out up through the ceremony, but this guy clearly didn't know what he was doing. He took shots of my groom getting ready using a wide angle lens, this produced a multitude of shots that make my 6'3" groom look 4 feet tall and it will take me a while to fix in photoshop. The 2nd photographer also did nothing while we did formal portraits so I feel like there were lots of missed shots of activity going on around the actual portraits. Also he missed a lot of detail shots, luckily guests at my wedding took pictures to make up for this and I'm getting them from them. He missed several key events and people during the reception. He also didn't listen when we told him he needed a ladder for some shots. I gave him a list of the photos I wanted but only got a handful of them. I would just recommend that you give him lots of very direct advice and make sure that you get the pictures you want since I trusted him to use his best judgement but apparently he just wasn't paying attention to what was going on or what I asked for. Update: First of all Michael Chansley wrote to me demanding that I change my review to 5 stars which I thought was rather rude, nothing I'm writing is unfair or untrue. Also after looking at the time stamps on the photos I realized that he was half an hour late to arrive and start photographing. As for his comments below: the ladder he mentions as being dangerous, I work in construction and on ladders all the time, they're perfectly safe and we offered to provide a stout construction ladder but he refused it. I have now put together our wedding photo album, it was hard to do since the best picture of my hair had the table of hairspray and supplies directly behind it and every picture of the Groom's mother wasn't of her smiling. I don't understand why you didn't take more than one shot of each family portrait, if their are 10 people in the picture shouldn't you take 2 or 3 pictures just to make sure you're covered? There were also multiple instances of where he was standing right next to me, I pointed at something and said please take a picture of that and he didn't do it. You also didn't take any pictures of Scott and Dan dancing together during the dollar dance or of the inside of the Gelato cart. Instead I have a lovely picture of the two people working the gelato cart, I don't know them and really didn't need a shot of them. Don't you take pictures of a cake at a wedding, the gelato was our cake and you missed it. The list of photos was only long because I included example photos of other wedding photos taken at a stadium since Michael had never done sports photography before and they took up a lot of space, I only had 24 photo requests that wouldn't fall under a standard wedding's list of photos. I'm sorry if 24 unique shots was too much to ask for and have be accomplished. Michael also wasn't clear about when he was setting up for a shot and when he started actually photographing, there are photos that are off just because he didn't give any warning that he was done testing the lighting and finally taking the real photo. I loved my wedding, but am disappointed with the photos, I'm not being a b****, just honest

was. We got married on a Thursday and we has our CD of photos in our mailbox the following Monday! But most of all, the pictures are beautiful. He captured the day so honestly and every time I look at them I relive my wedding day. He is way more affordable than most big name photographers in town, but by no means is he any less professional or talented. I'm so glad I hired him!

is degree is in photo journalism which is one of the reasons we chose him.. I knew he would be great at the formal shots but also get all those candid fun shots too! THANK YOU MICHAEL! We will definately be calling you for other family events and portraits!
