Walt and Jimmy were amazing! They kept the Dance Floor pumping for the entire reception, and had the perfect blend of music. Both Walt and Jimmy were incredibly professional. Walt reached out to us ahead of our wedding to get an idea of what we were looking for in regards to music to play. And then they were able to roll with it, and make our wedding such a fun event! We definitely will be using Charizma again for all of our DJ needs, and highly recommend booking them for your our events! They will not disappoint!

Marz and his team at Charizma are phenomenal and will be certain to make your event a hit. We hired them for our wedding and ceremony and we couldn't be more impressed with him and his team. From the planning stage before the wedding, to the opening notes of our ceremony, to the closing song, Marz brought a genuine and contagious energy that just can't be faked or replicated. I say this as someone who comes from a large family with tons of weddings - each with DJs that (respectfully) don't hold a candle to what Marz did for our event. The only one that comes close was also DJ'd by another Charizma DJ, which was the reason I reached out to Charizma for our wedding in the first place. I say this to note that if you can't book Marz (which I would absolutely do again), the other talent at Charizma will be awesome. Thanks Marz & team for making our wedding wonderful. My fiancé and I hired Charizma Entertainment for our wedding in September 2023. Our main goal was for our guests to enjoy the wedding. A key part of that is a good DJ and good music. Marz and Charizma entertainment exceeded our expectations. DJ Jimmy went above and beyond to make our day special. He incorporated personal touches throughout the event, helped all the speeches run smoothly, and kept everyone entertained. We attended several other weddings this year and none of the other DJs were even close to as amazing as this company. I would highly recommend them to any family or friends.

Marz was THE BEST, we truly cannot speak highly enough. Going into our wedding, the two things we wanted to prioritize was the music and the food - and Marz delivered on the music all night! Seriously, so many people complimented and said he did such a great job throughout the night MC'ing and DJ'ing and we can't thank him enough. Multiple people told us it was the best / most fun wedding they had ever been to, and we attribute much of that to Marz! Music selection, being able to connect with guests, interaction, taking requests - he did it all! Not to mention the best Hora we (and much of our family members) had ever been a part of! I cannot say enough good things about this company! Truly made our wedding spectacular. Prior to the wedding they sent me email reminders that they were still thinking about us, for any payments due, and for final appointments. This took away any anxiety about whether or not the double booked accidentally. Then for our details meeting he was so detailed and offered great advice. The wedding day… absolutely MAGICAL! They kept everything flowing and kept each activity of the wedding fun and interactive. We just kept hearing from all our guests how great they were. WOW - Walt was truly the star of our wedding day reception. We could not be happier with the way he was not only an amazing DJ, but also an incredibly fun and professional MC. He wowed us and everyone else at our wedding. SO many people came up to us afterwards wanting his information and to book him for their wedding. He got things going and kept them fun and exciting all night with his djing, dancing, letting the bride (me) DJ for a little (LOL) and keeping us and everyone happy and the dance floor alive. We hired Walt to DJ our wedding, not realizing we hired a living legend. From the preparation of our set list and MCing the entire wedding, Walt made the entire evening. He coordinated all of the moving parts between the reverend, the father-daughter dance, the first dance, and groomsmen & bridesmaids' entrances and got people out to the dance floor that would not typically be on the dance floor. He knows how to get a crowd going, and keep them going. He was professional from start to finish but also knows how to have fun! We couldn't have been happier with Walt and recommend him to anyone looking to have a great wedding. It is now two weeks after our wedding and we have guests asking how they can hire Walt telling us he was the best DJ they've seen!

My now husband and I hired Charizma Entertainment for our wedding and we were blown away by how great they are! Walt was absolutely amazing as our wedding DJ! It was an incredibly hot day in an open air venue so I was concerned that no one was going to want to dance, but he somehow managed to get everyone on the dance floor and having a great time despite the heat. I attended a wedding by Charizma in 2016 and immediately had to get a business card - the way the DJ, Marz, captivated the whole room and turned it into one big party was unlike anything I had experienced before by a wedding DJ. When my best friend got married in 2018, we saw Charizma at a bridal event, and I shared my experience with her. She had Walt at her wedding and it was another amazing event! My stepbrother was then married in 2019 and there was Walt again. When we got engaged, I knew without a doubt that I needed to have Charizma Entertainment. Our wedding venue even provided a DJ, so I had to ask if we could bring our own - it was really a deal breaker! We were lucky enough to have Walt & Marz show up to our big day! Walt has such an amazing personality - he is so down to earth and he can bust some serious moves (and vocals) on the dance floor! Marz’s communication makes you feel so at ease leading up to the big day. I really prefer not to call them DJs because they are so much more - they keep the day running smoothly, they keep a pulse of the crowd, they check in with the bride and groom, and they keep the dance floor full with their music selections. We firmly believe that choosing the right DJ vendor is so important because it’s the heartbeat of the wedding reception. I can assure you will not go wrong with Charizma Entertainment!

We were lucky to have DJ Marz with DJ Jimmy T for our large wedding at the Chicago Cultural Center in mid-March. If you want guests to have a great time at your wedding, look no more! Marz is hands down the best DJ in Chicago, and quite possibly the world. I have now seen him at three weddings (including ours), and he absolutely MAKES the event. Let me explain: he will keep everything running smoothly; he will engage the crowd in creative ways; and he will get people on the dance floor. Full stop. He has SO much energy, and it will hype up your guests - believe me, he had EVERYONE dancing. As a Type A person (read: anxious bride), he was extremely responsive, and the online music/event planner was intuitive and easy to use, allowing us to have all of our “must play” songs available on our celebration night. Stop reading this review and give Charizma a call!

Absolutely 1,000% recommend Marz and his team! Music for our reception was always important to me, and we couldn't have had a better pick. We got SO many compliments throughout the night on how great our two DJs were. They got everyone up on the dance floor (from 2 years to 82 year olds) and involved in the fun. They did an amazing job of keeping the energy up, picking great songs, and changing songs to match the vibe. Seriously, we cannot recommend them enough!! They made the night so perfect.

We found Walt at charizma entertainment at a friends wedding last October. We knew we had to have him as our MC at our wedding. Having a DJ and MC at our wedding was the best choice we ever could have made. If you don't hire Charizma Entertainment for your wedding or celebration in general... you're making a massive mistake. Marz and his team provide much more than DJ services. Charizma provided the sound and music for our ceremony, music for our cocktail hour and elevated our reception to heights I didn't know were possible for a wedding. Lets just say we should have requested a larger dance floor from our wedding venue. From the second the dance floor opened and all the way to the last song, the dance floor was jam packed. The Charizma Team did a phenomenal job starting the party and keeping it alive. The energy in the ballroom was like nothing I've ever witnessed at a wedding. Ari (our MC for the night) was hands down AWESOME! Her energy was electrifying and she did a phenomenal job making guests feel comfortable to dance. Heck, I'm not a huge dancer and I was breaking out moves I didn't know I had. All in all, I would recommend Charizma Entertainment over and over and over again. Thank you to the Charizma Team for making our special night one for the ages and an evening our guests will never forget.

THE BEST entertainment crew around!!! We first saw Marz and his team at our friend’s wedding a few years back and instantly knew we would use Charizma Entertainment for our own wedding. They are truly a grade above the rest because their packages offer a DJ AND an MC, which really gets the party started. And that’s exactly how our recent wedding was on April 24, 2021 - our guests were up dancing the entire time, just like we wanted!!! Wow...where do I even start? Charizma Entertainment was absolutely FANTASTIC. I knew Marz & his crew were amazing when they DJ'd my best friend's wedding back in 2017; however, having them apart of our wedding day was even more special. The guests raved about Marz and how entertaining he was (literally people of all ages made this compliment!) Not only was he super entertaining on the day of our wedding, he made the planning process super easy. We had a couple of Zoom calls prior to our date and Marz was easy to talk to and did such a good job offering suggestions with our timeline to ensure the night would run smoothly. IF I COULD GIVE 10 STARS I WOULD! Mars and Walt are nothing short of legendary! They are truly professionals who KNOW what they are doing. We are so grateful that Walt and Mars were apart of our special day. If we had to do it all over again we know we would absolutely have Charizma Entertainment apart of our experience. My Wife and I had seen Walt and his DJ perform at the Bartelt in 2017. After that night, I knew I wanted Walt to MC my wedding. We met with Mars and Walt at their office before wedding and we had such a great time I couldn’t stop thinking about how amazing our reception would be. Walt is a very kind person and you can tell he really cares. At our reception, Walt and his DJ were spectacular! Everyone I spoke with said that MC and DJ were the best they had ever seen. Some of our guests stayed to the end of the Wedding because they didn’t want to miss any of the dancing. Our dance floor never emptied and people were so happy to celebrate. I received so many comments at my wedding and the days after from guests saying how great the MC Walt was from Charizma. Marz and Walt had meetings with me before the event and made me feel comfortable knowing they had taken all my notes. They executed the whole thing from start to finish amazingly. Marz was so sweet, energetic and engaging!!! There were 14 little attendants - all 11 years and under, the youngest was 2 years old. He met with the children before their entry introductions and gave them fun dance move instructions. I only wish I had a picture of them sitting around him and intently listening to him. (If I get a picture, I will post It). All the guests were standing up and applauding! He worked so well with the bride and groom in their music selections. Marz kept everyone on their feet dancing till the very end!!! Wonderful!!!

We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day and reception. Our MC Walt was simply the best. He and the DJ created an atmosphere of pure fun. My husband and I like 90s Disney, and they incorporated two songs from A Goofy Movie into the reception. The guests LOVED that. Walt was a guest (and bride/groom) favorite! They were professional, energetic, and were able to make a one-of-a-kind experience for us. I would highly recommend, well worth the money spent.

Hands down the best money we spent on the wedding. My husband and I love to dance and we wanted to make sure the energy was up the entire time. Marz and Walt went above and beyond our wildest expectations. They had a wonderful meeting with us and made sure every detail was exactly what we wanted and tailored the playlist to our crowd and theme. This company is absolutely amazing and they have really shaken up what my husband and I have come to expect from a "wedding DJ". Their use of a DJ/MC combo keeps the energy of reception moving the entire time and they really know how to get EVERYONE up and moving! My husband and I first experienced Charizma Entertainment at my husband's lifelong buddy's wedding where we first met the founder, Marz. Before the night was over he had received so many compliments that we just had to have him for our wedding the following summer. After sitting down and contacting them about the date Marz discovered he was booked, but assured us we would be in great hands with his partner, Walt. We initially thought that no one could top the MC performance that Marz brought at my husband's buddy's wedding, but we were so mistaken! Walt absolutely rocked our wedding and yet again, the compliments flooded in! So many of our guests said that it was the most fun they've ever had at a wedding and we couldn't agree more! No matter who your MC/DJ crew is, this company will put on a performance you and your guests surely won't forget!

Marz is absolutely fantastic! He knows exactly what to do to get your guests up out of their seats and having a good time. When planning my wedding, I actually had a different DJ company booked. However, I went to a coworkers wedding who hired Charizma and realized I HAD to switch my DJ. I could not be more happy with the decision I made. Marz had all of our guests dancing at their tables during dinner and the dance floor was packed all night long! You can tell that Marz loves his job because he's on the dance floor with the guests too. I am still getting calls from my guests asking where I found such an incredible MC. I even had one of my cousins who lives in Colorado ask him about doing their wedding. I highly recommend Charizma Entertainment.

We hired DJ Walt Downing via Charizma Entertainment and could not have been happier! Walt kept the party going all night long and ran the whole event like a true professional. I can not more highly recommend Walt! If you want people to dance, laugh, and say "awwwwe" all night - hire Walt! If you want your event to be lame - hire anyone else. We were familiar with Marz and Charizma when we decided to book them. One thing I didn't expect but I'm glad we got help with was planning a timeline. I didn't know what order things should be done or how long they should take. Marz was able to advise us on that. We used the online portal to indicate songs for special moments. Some of them were not common, but Marz made sure he found them. Music for our ceremony and reception were on point! The team was able to go with the flow as our friends and family made requests for obscure songs. There were almost no "stereotypical" songs played, and even those were mixed in a way that made them more interesting (I'm lookin' at you 'Cha Cha Slide'). The Charizma team really helped make this a night to remember.

PERFECT CHOICE!! Walt and Marz were amazing to work with and were everything we were hoping for in a DJ. Choosing them was our big splurge for our wedding and we are so glad we did. They made the process easy and fun, even though we were planning from across the country. They handled everything professionally yet were light hearted and funny. Words cannot explain just how amazing this company is. My mind is blown with how much they truly care about couples having the best day of their lives. I met Marz and Walt at a bridal expo and there was an instant connection and I realized I want this company to be a part of my big day. I do not say this lightly, I am very particular about music. We had come across Charizma through--funnily enough--a work Christmas event, where Marz had done an excellent job as an emcee and had referred to the eventual bride-to-be as the "Devil in the Blue Dress." Having this good vibe with Marz already, we were happy to work with him, but we have to say that him and his DJ exceeded all expectations. We had been expecting a great time, but had not anticipated that he would have all the tables up and dancing with his 45 second dance off contests, and that he would get the mother and sister of the bride up on the dance floor. 5 stars is just not enough. Marz was absolutely amazing! From our first meeting, to the day of the wedding he took care of any and every detail, to ensure that I had nothing to worry about. With everything going on with the wedding, Marz made sure that the planning process regarding the music couldn't be easier. On the day of our actual wedding, he made sure that everyone was up and having a great time at our reception. Our day would have not been nearly as memorable without Marz and Charizma Entertainment there.. so a million times THANK YOU!

If you want your wedding to be an epic party, stop your search because you will not find better than Walt and Charizma. Walt was the MC for our wedding on 8.19.17 and he went above and beyond the role of DJ and was better than we could have ever imagined. From our original meeting with him, we knew he would make our wedding a blast. He was very attentive during the planning process making sure he understood what we were looking for and checked in with us multiple times throughout the night to make sure he was meeting our expectations. From spontaneously having the room sing sweet caroline at dinner (which was just amazing) to his music selections and interactions with our guests, he really knows how to read a room and keep the party going. Our dance floor was full the entire night and everyone kept asking where we found Walt. I still get comments 6 months later about how amazing he was. We could not say enough good things about Walt and I am so happy we found him for our wedding. Do not hesitate to book Walt/Charizma for any event, you will not be disappointed.

So, it’s been three days since my daughter’s wedding, and I haven’t been able to post a review because I’M STILL DANCING! Charizma knocked it out of the park! Everyone at the reception has commented that it was the BEST WEDDING EVER! These people are pros: Marz and Walt (and team) worked with us in the planning stage to ensure that my daughter and son-in-law’s entertainment vision was met. Marz peppered them with questions to ensure that he was in sync with their ideas. Marz made sure to include all the special shout-outs and recognitions that we gave him. These folks worked the room. My 90-year-old mother was having a blast, and she commented that “they really know what they’re doing.” At one point, EVERYONE was on the dance floor… even Aunt Jeannie with her walker! Walt and Marz read the group and kept the music going all night long! I’ve already had 2 referral requests for Charizma! There are not enough stars to rate the Charizma team. They exceeded expectations in every respect: from planning through execution, they made the evening memorable… not just for my daughter, but for every guest in attendance. Charizma rocks!

Most memorable DJ/MC, Marz had the wedding engaged, on their feet dancing the night away. From originally meeting him at wedding expo to the reception very responsive, organized, and honest. We personally requested Marz and he came thru even though it was his birthday. I will recommending Charizma Entertainment to everyone. Thank you again for creating memories that will last forever!!

I wish our review of Marz & Charizma could just be a video of our wedding. If you want all your friends and family to have the best night of their lives… go with Charizma. We had so many people come up to us and tell us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. That is all because of Marz and Walt!!!! Marz noticed a few potential hiccups before the reception started and pulled us aside to knock it out fast and make sure everything was perfect. His attention to detail was beyond impressive. When we had a meeting with Marz he asked us what would you like us to play, we said “I don’t care, just make sure everyone has a good time and is on the dance floor”. A very difficult task in our opinion but they delivered better than we could have ever expected (maybe a little too much because they put people in such a good mood they started dancing on chairs…. Myself included). We have already recommended them to a close friend of ours who was unable to attend our wedding because they were off getting engaged. When I got back to work after our honeymoon, my whole office had heard about how awesome our reception was and how great of a time all of my coworkers had. We can’t give enough praise to Marz and Walt. I wish I could give them 50 stars. We are so thankful to the both of them and everything they did for us. Everyone says that your wedding day is the happiest day of your life but because of them it was also hands down the most fun we have ever had.

We absolutely loved Charizma. From start to finish, they were professional, responsive, and fun. The timeline they created was very helpful. Leslie was our emcee and DJ. I have never seen a dance floor fill up so quickly, and many of my guests said it was the most fun they have had at a wedding, which I know is in large part thanks to Charizma. She got everyone very excited during our intros, and perfectly transitioned between the different moments during the wedding. I have absolutely no complaints! We will be recommending to our friends, and some of our guests are already hoping to use Charizma for their own weddings. Thank you!
